Personality:
Dedicating his life to the cause he deemed just, Raiden is a super soldier born out of the war he served as a child. He vowed to protect the weak and often will sacrifice himself for others and hopes to live up to the honor and ability of Solid Snake. Being raised on a battlefield, Raiden is always the first to make cocky quips and taunts at his enemy to flaunt his talent. Throughout his missions, he is also known to be somewhat ridiculous with his "shenanigans", one time donning a mariachi sombrero and poncho as a disguise in Mexico, even going as far as also adding samurai swordsmanship to his knowledge set.

However, every day has it's night. Raiden is traumatized by his past, often times claiming he is alone in fights and that he has to fight by himself. Raiden is known to be cold and dissonant to those who consider him close. Forcing away his emotions, he learned to hide he true thoughts and emotions. It was with this mentality he developed the persona "Jack the Ripper", a bloodthirsty psychopath who lives for pain and the kill, however this is not who Raiden truly is. After his fight with Monsoon, he released the caged monster once more to win a fight he became frustrated with.

Only after the events of Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance did Raiden become somewhat of a free man, the goal he had pursued for many years of being a soldier.

Background

Background:
(Slightly altered from Canon so that I can play a post Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance as a cyborg Raiden.)

It had been years since the events set in Pakistan, the World Marshal had been crippled with the death of Senator Steven Armstrong, who Raiden had killed with an impaling blade to the chest. However, nothing had really changed. War still happened, bombs were still thrown between countries and people still died as casualties of war every single day. It was never Raiden's intention to necessarily end war, but he had at least hoped he could throw a wrench in Armstrong's ideal America. However, that was far from the truth. One of the biggest threats to the world still existed, the Metal Gears.

Raiden went out on his own again, deeply considering the words of the Senator he had called "Bat-shit insane". Maybe he should have become his own person. Maybe Raiden was merely just a puppet for Maverick, for the government as a whole. After he grabbed his blades, Raiden would become his own man, no longer working for another's cause. He would truly fight for what he believed was right. Although, it goes without saying that becoming independent after these events would be no easy feat. He still frequently relied on Maverick Security's technology and staff to help execute his "missions". He would never truly be alone. Not with these damn augmentations.

The storm had been raging for hours. Raiden sat atop a high-set building, robotic bodies piled up from the mercenary's recent killing spree. The war still raged despite the now aging man's best efforts. Senator Armstrong's ideology of a nation based off of a war economy and a survival of the fittest hierarchy had come to fruition. Weapons were being deported daily, Metal Gears still seen on the televisions across the globe. Many at Maverick (especially the Doktor Wilhelm Voigt) tried to liberate Raiden from this grueling life, however he always refused. "There's still more of those bastards out there!" He would always interject. There was no escape from this life. Not if the streets were constantly unsafe. Raiden was still seen as the man who assassinated the Senator of Colarado.

Suddenly, the always grey skies began to clear, allowing the pink and yellow glow of sunrise to pass through the streets, as if to shed light on a dark country. Raiden would stand as the clouds parted, taking in the scenery for a moment before questioning it's origin. The visor on Raiden's face would quickly snap shut over his eyes, giving him a readout of the land. Ordinarily, the temperature, time of day, and other worldly statistics would shutter over his face, however, then it would only read glitched text and warped lettering.

Quickly before anything else could have gone awry, Raiden would tap twice on the side of his visor to open his communications. First in line was always Boris. The call would ring for a moment before it was answered, however, the large Russian man was nowhere in frame, in fact all that was on screen was a bright, blinding light. "Boris!? Damnit!" He would shout before ending the call he would begin calling all his other contacts one by one. Kevin, Courtney, with no answer whatsoever. Even with their limited communication, they still would have answered, having a "Only call if its an emergency" system.

There was only one person left to call, the one person who Raiden trusted with cybernetic enhancements: The Doktor. He would call to receive an answer, the short man standing firmly and professionally. "V'at seems to be ze issue Raiden?" He would answer. Raiden would quickly (and quite rudely) snap back at the Doktor. "No time for chit-chat! My comms with Maverick are down!" The Doktor wore a stunned expression on his face. They were both aware of the communication rules, so how was this possible?! "V'at!? Z-Zat is impossible! What's your emergen-" Suddenly he would press his hand on his ear, getting call after another. This was not the only instance.

"Raiden you need to tell me v'at's going o-" Suddenly the burst of light would fill the comm screen, now covering the screen as it did for Boris. Raiden would stare in shock. "Doktor?! Doktor, are you there!? Dammit all!" All communication had been cut. There was no longer anyone he could call. Not that it mattered. In the distance, a bright beam hurdled in his direction, the same that had taken his company. As his visor was already drawn, he would unsheathe his HF Blade. He would hold a steady footing as he prepared to parry the beam in an opposite direction. But no matter how strong the cyborg was, the light won.

Specialty:
Raiden is a master in close combat, so naturally he is to be considered a front line attacker, although he is greatly skilled in both the art of stealth and the way of the ninja.

Powers:

• Electricity Generation:
  Raiden is able to create lightning as long as his fuel cells are charged. This ability comes in the package of being recognized as a Snake. The lightning created allows for overall speed improvement but also the ability to charge weaponry and attacks with electricity.

Strengths:

• Augmented Strength: Due to being cybernetically enhanced, Raiden has obtained greater strength.
• Augmented Speed: Due to being cybernetically enhanced, Raiden has obtained greater speeds.
• Self Care: Raiden is able to heal and fuel his power cells with spinal fluids of both living and cybernetic humans.

Weaknesses:

• Overconfidence: Often is overly cocky in his abilities and can underestimate opponents.
• Cybernetic Enhancements: While in combat they are incredibly helpful and can determine the fate of a life and death situation, they constantly require attention in order to function.
• Uncooperative: Will in most situations, attempt to break from any group to fight on his own.

• The Beheaded- Also known as the prisoner. A faceless, mouthless pile of mush on top of a rotting corpse. The entity is practically immortal, able to detach itself from its host and fling to either another corpse, or survive on its own. Game of origin: Dead Cells
• Omen- The result of a failed chemicals testing. One survived, able to wield the power of the toxins, the other a revenant of themselves, hoping to find a cure to their lifelessness. Props to you if you guess which Omen is. Game of origin: Valorant
• Nidus- The result of a mixing infestation and a sentient suit of armor, Nidus bends the will of corruption and infestation to the will of their operator. There is no cure for it's strange disease: you must control it. Game of origin: Warframe

Inventory

Inventory:

• HF Blade: A katana in which utilizes rapidly changing attack patterns to throw its opponents off. Emits high-frequency vibrations to allow easy slicing access.
• HF Murasama: Serves the same purpose as a regular HF Katana or Blade, however is much heavier and is able to deal deadlier, slower striking blows.
• Wide variety of grenades: "What? A ninja can't have his explosives? Screw you."
• SOCOM MK23: While rarely used, a ranged weapon is always a better alternative in missions that require stealth, though Raiden prefers a face-first encounter any time.

Although he's suffering from PTSD and indeed has the persona of a bloodthirsty killer buried within, he's also committed to protecting the weak at all costs as a result of his past as a child soldier in Liberia. He's also something of a dork at times, such as with his 'disguise', being a bit of a weeb about samurai, and his fanboyism of Snake, and despite his troubles he's ultimately a good guy trying to do what he thinks is right, even if that demands sacrifice. Unless you're reinterpreting the character as more strictly edgy?

Oh, no you're totally right, I mostly based him off of his background than how he is presented in the actual game itself. I'll add a paragraph or two extra to fix that. I love how I totally 360'd his personality in the background section compared to what I wrote in the personality. Thanks for bringing that up mate, actually annoyed I didn't notice that myself.

What Master Hand does and doesn't do is governed by strict plans and rules. It is not the type for meaningless pranks. If anyone was just stuck on the mountain alone in the elements without gear or preparation the cold would almost certainly claim them. There are a lot more people that could use her love in Al Mamoon, or even Lumbridge, for instance.

However, there was one possibility I left open. The building that Midna spotted: the Convent of Our Lady of the Charred Visage. It's essentially an abbey whose sisters worship a woman whose face was used as a likeness for divinity, but who burned her face with boiling oil as an act of piety to distance herself from such comparisons. Those who reside there, half-frozen by the cold and half-burned by the scorching lava that flows within, are extremely hostile, but since Flonne is an angel it's possible that they see her as a divine benefactor come to ease their pain. She may have come this way after hearing about it while in Tostarena or Al Mamoon, wanting to provide what comfort she could to a place suffused by suffering.

She probably initially believes helping them will get the sisters to possibly change their ways but after awhile now she is beginning to see their own faith is too different from her own. At least she'll try to convert some to her side but she is starting to feel her love is needed elsewhere specifically to the Seekers and her obstinate acquaintance Laharl.

Suffering isn't something Flonne is all for even if her higher power told her it was. Her very power as an angel is tied closely to her conviction to love above all else which is the power her soul emulates.
