Celina

Now that was one thing that was out of the way...When Celina saw the bidoof just disappear, she entered the cave and moved close to the fire, feeling the rain was really doing a number on her. She just could not wait till that rain finishes so that she could go and fly around a bit and scout... while being very careful that is. She just stayed there, thinking a bit as she relaxes and see Ravi go and drop a large bird nest from his mouth. She gave a small smile. "Well... that will be useful. " she says as she looks on feeding the fire with the twigs of that nest, careful with this and careful not get burned. She just looked at the group, thinking a bit and heard what Trevor said to Nathan. She sighed softly at this.

"Ya, at least he goes get arms in the end... lot of us are stuck wthiout the ability to have arms.. which is kinda bad here." she then says calmly to the group for this. She think a bit. "Anything else you gus found while out there?" she then asks the group. She just stayed near the water to let its warmth help her, trying to remove the water from her feathers so she would not feel as heavy right now."And any other ennemies that we will need ot be careful about." she then asks the group.

It seemed that, at least for now, Lance could do nothing about these ghosts. As irritating as that was, at least this one was quickly dealt with. Just before it's body faded away into dust, it let out a growl that made Lance feel weaker somehow. That feeling was short-lived, however, and seconds later he felt a rush of strength. Though it was unusual, he didn't think anything of it. He simply followed the others back to the cave. If there were more ghosts out there, then it would likely be best to stay there, at least until the storm ended.

The others had come back with a nest and a bunch of berries. "This should last until the storm ends." Avoiding the blue ones as the lizard instructed, Lance skewered one of the berries on the end of his blade and popped it into his mouth. Though it resembled a cherry, it certainly didn't taste like one. It was spicy, like a pepper, though Lance couldn't say he disliked it. He didn't have a preference, really.

"So, aside from this, did you find anything else? Signs of a nearby town or village, perhaps?" He highly doubted this. With all of the ghosts wandering about, they likely wouldn't have gotten far. Still, anything they may have found out would be helpful.

"Hm, nope, didn't find nothing." Vi replied with a nonchalant shrug. "Got attacked by these beaver things, plus the storm started picking up and staying out any longer would've been bad ideas." That said, it seemed like she could somehow use some sorta psychic attack now, judging from how that bidoof reacted. Curious. She would need to explore just how this ability of hers could be used effectively. For now though, she was doing all she could to just not get knocked around by the wind.

"I can apparently use some sort of psychic attack, so if we run into more of those ghost beavers I can probably handle them...somewhat." She turned her eyes towards the cavern entrance. "...that dog is still out there fighting, from the sounds of it." There was an audible question there if they should help. Honestly, Vi would like to return the favor but given her current abilities and situation if she even tried it, she'd probably be swept away by the wind.

For now however, Vi settled herself towards the back of the cave, close to the ground as to lessen the effects of the wind.

With everyone back in the cave, things seemed at peace for now. The fire was considerably more lively though still fairly small, and if the Pokémon rationed carefully they would still have berries left over. They have tasted battle against an unusual enemy and there was a certain sort of dread that lingered in the cave. Questions left unanswered. The storm continued on with occasional thunder and lightning, and it didn’t seem to let up at all.

Indeed, there was no sign of the storm stopping. The opposite actually; seemed like the weather was only getting worse. Wind blew into the cave and with it cave rain water which threaten to flood the cave and put out the fire. The skies darkened as it drew closer to nighttime; of the young Pokémon choose to stay here in the cave there was no garuntee they could stay warm or even see anything. Only Vi and Ravi would have some limited darkvision, and even then that wouldn’t let them see through the thick cover of rain and wind that still roared outside of the cave.

But there was still time before night fell. The you glings can decide their fate for themselves. To wait here for a better tomorrow, or to seek out answers on their own. Whatever their choice and tough destiny lies ahead.

The flameless Charmander, Trevor?, had a point. If all their opponents were part ghost type as a Seedot Nathan wouldn't be able to do much. "Ya, at least he goes get arms in the end... lot of us are stuck without the ability to have arms.. which is kinda bad here."

"Not in the end I think Shiftry just has leafs." He was half joking, but yeah a lack of hands could get annoying. After Trevor revealed their haul included Oran berries he wanted to take one but decided to see if sleep would heal his injuries first after the rant about about keeping them in reserve. "I did take damage in the fight but I don't if it was enough to justify me using an Oran berry, and besides maybe a full night's sleep also heals us." He looked over the stash since he didn't all the flavors, though he did remember that the cheri berry which Lance picked was probably too spicy for him.

In the end he picked a random berry that turned out to be sweet and sour. "If there are more of those red eyed Pokémon that is probably why we're brought here, but why is behind them and who summoned us."

Jeri

Jeri listened to the others discuss some kind of ghost attack. She felt a little awkward about joining the conversation... like she didn't deserve to weigh in on a battle she didn't fight. Look, she was totally willing and able to fight a ghost beaver. But somebody had to tend to the fire, and her snake-like body just couldn't join the fray as quickly as a bird.

Anyway, she hadn't just sat there, mouth agape, doing absolutely nothing. The Dunsparce turned her head to look back at the shallow groove, the slowly growing pile of mud and pebbles she had dug up to start forming a protective windblock around the fire. She made a motion akin to swiveling her ankles, and the tip of her tail began to rotate again. Apparently, this weird critter's tail was a drill. Who knew?

With her tail tired and caked with mud, Jeri inched closer to the group and the growing fire. She suspiciously eyed all the unfamiliar fruits and eventually settled on a familiar raspberry. But instead of sweet and tangy, this red bumpy berry tasted spicy. Jeri enjoyed it, thinking nostalgically about her favorite Mexican restaurants at home. Then she nearly gagged as she reached the berry's bone-dry core. The few seconds of enjoyment passed, and now Jeri was back to scowling in a cold, damp hellworld.

"Ok," Jeri replied to Nathan with a little bite in her tone, "but WHY would they not bring stronger Pokémon? You said some of us can't even hurt these things! Whadda they expect us to do? Unless... we were brought here to be a sacrifice, after all..."

Jeri narrowed her eyes at the stormy horizon. Then she turned toward Trevor with a more serious, determined look.

"What do we need to do to train? How can we grow into a fighting team as soon as possible?"

Ravi

The worsening sounds of the storm raging on sucker punched Ravi awake, opening his eyes suddenly and springing upright to see them all accounted for and seemingly unharmed. Some of the berries had clearly been shared among them, and the nest was keeping the fire going. Meaning that everyone had food and warmth for now, which was good enough to keep up morale. Giving a small sigh of relief in the knowledge that everything went okay while he was incapacitated. Listening in as the group appeared to be amidst a conversation, hoping he hadn’t missed anything too crucial. Pertaining to the reasons why this was taking place and what they should be doing for the future...

The latter was a pertinent query that he couldn’t quite calculate in his overwhelmed mind. Too accurate to admit that he was totally flabbergasted in answering Nathan’s or Jeri’s question. A brain without the necessity to survive seemed to be escaping him since he returned to a calmer situation. Now that he had time to breathe in, it decided to flow into his head instead. His mouth went slightly agape and letting out a frustrated “Um…” which sputtered off into a few seconds of inaudible murmuring before returning to silence. Smiling wide like he was satisfied in his contribution in order to mask his embarrassment. “I’m sure that was helpful. Nice job Ravi...” Quickly giving himself an inner pep-talk so that he wouldn't dwell on negativity. "Oh, don't be so hard on yourself. You just needed more time to brainstorm..."

The thunder soon reminding him why that wasn't the best word choice for ignoring their predicament. He slithered a little closer to the flame and kept quiet. Probably a smarter decision to leave to the leadership to whoever best understood this bizarre world. Only believing that going outside again would be suicidal at this point. Especially knowing that a threat could still be lurking out somewhere in that darkness. An optimist had little to be anxious about aside from being uncertain of how frightened the others were and Ravi doubted he’d be successful in providing reassurance. He was open to all the brightest ideas his teammates could muster up. Perhaps that would even lighten the mood...

Celina

When Celina heard what the seedot said, she breath deeply and nod. "Well its better then just wings." she then said, seeing the rain going worst right now. She though about it and look at the group. "If this rain continues, we wont have a cave floor to stay on." she says before thinking, then looking at Jeri and her tail. She though about it a bit, seeing how her tail moved. She look at he group. "Hey guys, just so we don't end up being flooded, it may be a good idea to make some kind of trench that would also permit the water to flow out of the cave... or a kind of dirt wall that would be high enough, just so we don't drown. If this rain gets worst and worst, we will have issues." she then says, looking at the group calmly after this.

The trench may take some time but may also get filled quickly with water, faster then the group can do anything about it. The wall may be a better option, but we would need to dig up enough dirt and stone for that. "And Jeri, considering your tail, you might be able to help for this?" she then says. She just prayed that they would live another day... and where the heck could the group go if they decided to leave the cave.. flying in this weather would probably be suicidal or something.

Lance

As the storm raged on outside, all they could do was wait for it to die off. It was steadily getting worse, to the point where some were concerned about flooding. Celina even seemed to think they would drown, for some odd reason. "Drown? While a flood is certainly possible, I doubt it would be severe enough to drown us." Lance pointed out. "Still, a barrier is a decent idea. Any water that gets into the cave could easily put out our fire."

The party chose to stay the night and wait out the storm. As the weather was getting worse, preparation was made to try and divert the water away from the fire and trying their best to get comfortable. With very sparse admenitities the best some could do is make a dirt barrow to dig into for the night. Ravi, Jeri, and Nathan oddly enough would be most comfortable doing this if they attempted to do so. Nathan himself would feel an odd fulfilling sensation as he did so, almost as if he was draining neutrients from the ground. He was a plant after all.

As for the others their best bet was to simple huddle around the fire. While going strong it wasn’t very big, hopefully it would last to the night. The storm continued to rage on, with flashes of lightning and explosions of thunder occurs g infrequently throughout the night. By the time some semblance of a morning came, it was still raining. Some water had looked into the cave though fortunately nowhere near the fire. The rain also seemed to be somewhat lighter, or at the very least the mist is gone and the Pokémon could see further than yesterday. Now the soft orange glow that Vi and Lance saw the day before was more noticeable by everyone.

Of course not everything is okay. The fire was now reduced to a few embers and coals, possible to revive if the party could get more wood, but if they look outside they would notice that at the bottom of the hill where they must descend into the forest was now quite a vast pond. If they were human the water would be knee-high, and as infantile pokemon many would need to swim over the water to reach the forest.

However they may have noticed something odd about themselves at this moment. They got bigger; not very big, but big enough that the more insightfully May notice. A slight increase in height, larger feet, generally more capable bodies. It was a subtle change but easy for those who acted upon it.

Trevor would feel a fire in his belly, perhaps he needs to poop. Or perhaps there was something more. Celina would notice that as she slept her wings had a certain glossy oil on them, yet it didn’t seem to weigh her down. Quite the opposite; it seemed to keep her wings nice and fluffy. Lance was the closest to the pool of water and while it was away from the cave entrance, it was rather dark. And get barely after getting up his eyes would adapt to the conditions rather easily. Vi would simply wake up sore somehow. While as a Misdreavus she is capable of sleeping slightly hovered over the ground, her body just felt like it was in a foul mood. Perhaps she’s just hungry.

Ravi wouldn’t notice much of a change on himself aside that he grew slightly longer, and this was mainly in his tail. It was more than a small stub of a blade and now looked a bit more like a scalpel. Additionally his fangs grew out; they now butter just a little bit past his lips instead of being fully inside of his mouth. Jeri would also notice some slight changes to her body including a more flexible tail and body. Though she may look pudgy compared to Ravi, Jeri would find that she could easily curl up and around without too much trouble, even inside of her own burrow. Finally Nathan would just wake up and feel a bit stiff. He may have the hardest time waking up on account of how pleasant it seemed to be for him to take root to his spot and just doze off.

Beyond these personal changes nothing else differed greater. It was still raining, the fire was threatening to go out, and they had enough berries to feed everyone today and maybe tomorrow if they rationed carefully. Just like yesterday, they needed to figure out what they were going to do. As morning had just came they would hopefully have plenty of time to do their business before night falls.

Trevor took a little while to wake up, however, once he did, he immediately noticed the fiery sensation, and he kinda chuckled to himself. Trevor put two and two together, and while everyone else was talking, or trying to get Nathan to wake up, Trevor focused on trying to breathe a few small embers that he could use as an attack. He... kept trying this for a while, knowing that he was a fire type, and knowing that this HAD to be him finally being capable of using a damaging fire-type move, right? I can't believe I'm level nine, already... I mean, I didn't really DO much, but sure! I'll take it! Trevor thought as he kept trying to literally spit fire on the burnt-out campfire... if he could actually do it, they wouldn't NEED to keep the fire going, they'd just need him to use ember on it, again, and, better yet, it would give Trevor a move he could use against ghost types, which, apparently, those weird dust-zombie pokemon were. After a while of practicing shooting flames at the campfire, Trevor walked up to the cave's entrance, and he looked off in the distance... while still trying to breathe fire, and he noticed that orange glow. Huh... is that What Lance was talking about, earlier? Well, either way, it got brighter... maybe we SHOULD go there, this time, instead of just running back here. Trevor thought as he again, continued to practice breathing fire. Eventually, he found the time to say "Alright, everyone, it doesn't look like the cave situation is getting any better... I think we should ALL head out, and try to find that light. Does that sound good? I mean... it's kind of a gamble, but we can't exactly afford to just stay here forever, right?" Trevor hoped that his teammates agreed with him, since otherwise, something bad might happen to them while his group was away, again.

When he woke up Nathan felt oddly comfortable in his little dirt sleepingbag and wanted to keep laying in the ground for a lot longer. He knew however that wasn't an option and with some effort, both due to him feeling somewhat stiff and due to his urge to stay there, got up.

Trevor was talking about heading towards a light. "Sounds good to me, but first I think I need to figure out how to attach my self to a tree like normal Seedot. I'm feeling somewhat stiff and can't help but wonder if it's due to a lack of whatever I get that way."

After he finished talking he looked around and noticed everyone was bigger than yesterday. "Guess we grow very fast at this age." Just in case his stiffness was due to something else he tried doing some stretches while also peeking out the cave entrance in an attempt to spot any low tree branches.

Lance

As he awoke, Lance's eyes very quickly adjusted to the darkness of the cave. It seemed that this new body of his was suited to the dark. As he stood up, he noticed that he'd also noticeably grown since last night, though he was still much smaller than he would be as a human. As he looked around the cave, he saw that some of the others had already woken up.

As he made his way past the dying fire and over to the cave's entrance, he saw the same light that he'd seen the night before, though it was now clearly visible. It seemed that Trevor saw it as well, and suggested that the group head out to investigate. Lance nodded. "I have no intention of continuing to wait here."

As he looked down, he noticed their first roadblock. It seemed that there was some flooding, as there was now a large pond between them and the forest. He could barely swim as a human, and attempting to do so in this body would be difficult, if not impossible. "I'm not sure if that's shallow enough to wade through, and I'm not taking any chances. Celina and Vi, would you mind scouting ahead while we figure out a way to get across?" They seemed to be in an area with a lot of hills and cliffs. It may not be possible to simply go around.

Vi 'woke' with a mild grumble, having wished to sleep for a bit longer. Urgh. Not only was it morning to fast, it felt like she had also woken up on the wrong side of it. The Misdreavus hovered a few feet from the ground, eyes half closed as she glared at the offending pokemon who were talking loudly. Her entire body felt like it was in an irritable mood. As though she wanted to sucker punch the first thing she saw. At the same time, logically speaking, this was quite the odd feeling. Hmm...maybe she just needed to eat something. But if her assumptions after 'feeding' on the fear and confusion of the others the previous night, that might be somewhat difficult.

Well, best to give this a shot, then.

It was going to be slightly mean, but she needed to confirm this as a fact.

Silently fluttering over to Celina as she was still asleep, Vi hovered just behind her, opened her mouth and -

"SCRRRRRREEEE"

A loud screech pierced the air, probably startling more than just the sleeping Celina.

After a night sleep, Celina felt better... well.. better.. until she heard a large screeshing noise right next to her. She jumps up and suddenly flutters upwards, actually hitting the cave wall. "Ouch!" she says, breathing rapidly before and then looking around. "W.. what going on!? Who.. what" She says, confused before looking straight at Vi, and remembering yesterday... so.. all this was not just a crazy dream she guessed. She just breath deeply and fly down, before seeing that she grown a bit and her wings seemed fluffier now. Well, that was a good thing at least. She then heard what the others said and just try to wake up. "R.. right..." she says, looking outside and seeing the lake. We do need to go and take care of getting material and looking around." I.. I will go." she says before going and trying to fly a bit, trying to get use to her body and trying to see from a distance if anything interesting could be seen. She would need to be careful, that is for sure.... she didn't know what she would end up seeing. After a bit of getting used to flying she tried to fly to check around the mountain a bit to see any way for the group to pass.

Ravi

Ravi’s body squirmed like a sugar rush. But he’d argue that he was merely high on life! That thought followed an internal pity laugh to sympathize with his own pun. Intensely gazing and grinning while frenetically swaying like he was fascinated by the flickering flame. Maybe it was odd, but nothing felt out of the ordinary for him any longer. Likely sharing similar feelings of how strange their behavior was, assuming it was due to having slept unlike the rest. Though his mind still needed the snooze button for another minute — and the next minute after that. He couldn’t fathom shutting down when he just wanted to dance to the rhythm of the storm.

Unaware that his heightened instincts were as pervasive as the falling rain, as he was unconsciously soaking up all this information that weighed on his psyche. How the hell was he getting back? How the hell was he going to survive? How the hell could such small things measure up to such an enormous-feeling world? These questions would drown him far faster than a flooded cave. This life was like a game and he needed to learn the basics in order to play. Oblivious to the reason why he was struggling to suggest a simple theory. In reality, he was mentally exhausted from leaving nothing to random chance. From his previous desire to wrap around the tree, to his bizarre movement now, he was practicing the moves that he wasn’t even aware of. Fortunately his swagger had no intended target, so nobody began smashing their heads into the cavern walls. Instead training himself to be unafraid of the ongoing weather, since a single cold drop had previously sent literal and figurative shivers down his spine. Wait, do snakes have — nevermind.

So despite the deafening sounds that surrounded them, Ravi was all...ears? Anticipating a shining proposal that became a seemingly unanimous agreement for lights out. Responding with a stunned expression and an awkward silence as he watched and processed everyone else getting comfortable, before his mind contorted to reach a pleasant realization. “Oh...more sleep is good too! Yep, that’s probably a good idea!” Smiling again as he prepared a dirt bed and closed his eyes. And now was when his mind decided he’d have plenty of thoughts to spare and he’d dwell on them for the rest of the night. “The early bird catches the worm! I just hope I can catch the bird...not that I’d eat the bird. Not saying that they don’t taste good...would saying someone tastes good be a compliment or creepy?”

Thankfully still able to get some sleep as his slumber was abruptly interrupted by Vi’s growl. Not reacting spooked, just lazily opening his eyes and wiggling his tongue out. Immediately igniting his curiously as he confirmed with his tongue touching his teeth that they’d grown into an overbite. Had he undergone a growth spurt? Carefully inspecting himself before looking over at his team members that were already awake, or were likely to be woken in the same way he’d been. It seemed they’d all grown from yesterday, which made him happy, since that only made them more capable.

Ravi slithered up to the others peering at the edge of the cave to notice the ‘lake’. He uttered aloud, speaking to nobody in particular. “Hmm...it’s likely the rain will outlast the fire at this rate. Not that that’s such a bad thing.” Such an obvious lie probably didn’t do anyone favors, but he kept on smiling. Using a jubilant energy in his voice when seeing Celina flutter up to fly outside. “Good luck Celina! Be safe! Don’t fly too low and get snatched up!”

In hindsight, she probably could’ve done without the latter sentence. But he couldn’t help imagining a snake pokemon like him leaping into the air for a feathered snack to tickle the taste buds. No, he wasn’t thinking about eating a team member or even another pokemon. That idea made him nauseous. Maybe just a little nibble...not like that! More like a teething puppy desperate for something to chew on, just to rid himself of the urging sensation to bite. Doing his best to keep himself restrained from doing anything else to disturb anyone further. He’d apologize when the Swablu returned for being insensitive.

Jeri

Jeri snorted as she finally awoke to a loud sound. She was... trapped in a hole. She couldn't feel her arms and legs, and-- after the first few seconds, the memory of Jeri's predicament came flooding back. The Dunsparce muttered a curse under her breath as she mentally prepared for the stupidest day of her life.

Jeri crawled out of her sleeping hole and stretched out her sore tail. If there was anything good about this body, it seemed to be much more flexible than her admittedly stocky human body. While it was a strength, she'd have to quickly get used to a whole new combat style with these different abilities.

Speaking of different abilities... Jeri inched toward the rest of the group just as the bird flew off. The Dunsparce joined them in observing their surroundings as they prepared to leave the cave, now that the weather was better.

"We're gonna hafta learn to fight together if there's gonna be more ghost Pokémon on the way," Jeri remarked. "Whoever can fly should stay in the air. Lots of us have sharp claws or tails, so that's good. Maybe we should have partners to fight and strategize, keep track of each other - might give us a bit of an edge." Jeri's eyes briefly fell on Nathan and then looked away. How the heck was an acorn supposed to fight? Then she looked at Trevor.

"Charmander can breathe fire, right? Might be best to fight from a distance if they're zombies. Can anyone else do that?"

If it was everyone’s intention to leave, they’d have to figure out a way to bypass the pond sitting at the bottom of the hill. Nathan’s attempt to find a low branch would unfortunately be fruitless; the lowest branch was at least seven feet off the ground and nowhere near the cave entrance, being located across the pond. There were some shrubs and bushes but those too were behind the water. Vi’s attempt to illicit surprise from Celina gave her a warm and sweet feeling, like eating a sweet melty chocolate. As for Celina herself, she’s find that the rain didn’t stick to her wings like yesterday, though the wind was occasionally pushing her around. Sure enough if the winds picked up she still wouldn’t be strong enough to resist it.

Celina scouting wouldn’t provide much insight as the wind got much stronger the higher up she went. Even as she tried to fly around there was t anything immediately useful until she would spot a fallen tree. Seemed like yesterday’s lightning struck this tree and toppled it over. The bulk of the truck was big enough to easily bridge the lake gap, but surely would weigh a hundred times more than the swablu. Alternatively there were smaller and more manageable branches and sticks scattered around, but how strong they’d be is suspect. Some of the branches might be able to hold up some of the lighter Pokémon, but the constant rain would make the sticks very soft.

A thunderclap echoed out as the rain picked up again. Won’t be long before the storm awakens once more to bring trouble and strife. But before the storm would come, the cave Pokémon and especially Celina would see Something approach them from the skies. It was hard to see through the rain but as it got closer they would soon find a large flying pelican being attacked by a swarm of crows. It was barely out speeding the flock, however the injuries on its wings and body was notably slowing it down. Not to mention they seemed to be flying very low to the ground. The Pokémon wouldn’t notice the crew in the cave nor Celina, but they were close enough to perhaps serve as a distraction. Or just hide and avoid the trouble. Suddenly one of the crowd got in front of the pelican and blew a huge cloud of haze, slowing the pelican down enough for the rest of the swarm to overtake the big bird.

All of Trevor's efforts seemed to be wasted, and everyone was thinking about going towards the light, which was nice. Since he didn't have to say much to convince them, Trevor had a bit of time to think. Wait... maybe the fire's just a bit too weak to use... oh no, does that mean I'll have to eat coals and dried twigs? Trevor thought as he headed towards the campfire... it... really didn't look tasty, but he had to feed the flames, somehow, right? Trevor looked around for any twigs that might not have been turned into ashes, and after gathering what he could, he... closed his eyes, tried his best to think of anything else that was tasty, and tried to eat the dried twigs, all the while trying to make sure as little of it as possible touches his tongue. Trevor... really hoped that, one, this would work, and two, that he wouldn't have to do it constantly. Once that episode was over, he tried to breathe his flames, again, and he started heading out... he then answered Jeri's question with "I'm not sure I can do that, yet... if I could, I would have done that against the bidoof," everyone else seemed to be stuck at a puddle, and Trevor seemed to be a bit confused as to why they'd see that as such an obstacle, as he could see a couple easy ways to get past it... one of which was just swimming, which would probably be fine, even for Trevor, though, it might snuff out his pilot light, unfortunately... and the other... was to just go around. That puddle, big as it was, didn't stretch on forever, thus, simply walking around it would probably work. Considering the fact that Trevor probably wouldn't be able to find too many more dried twigs for a while, he tried the latter option, heading off the path, to the left until he could go around the stagnant water.

It seemed this world had already started getting to Trevor's head. At first, Lance thought that he'd gone over to the campfire to salvage what little warmth the dying embers could give him. Needless to say, he was quite surprised when the lizard scooped up a handful of burning coals and shoved them into his mouth. This wasn't the first time he'd done something like this, either. Lance recalled him sticking his tail into the fire last night. There were many questions running through Lance's head, but the conversation he overheard between Trevor and Jeri answered most of them. The creature Trevor had turned into apparently had the ability to breathe fire, something Trevor had yet to accomplish.

As his reptilian friend headed outside, Lance decided to accompany him. As Celina scouted from above, the two of them walked along the edge of the newly-formed lake, in the hopes that there was a way to get around. They didn't get far, though, before something above them caught Lance's eye. It was a flock of birds, similar to crows, chasing what appeared to be a chubby pelican. "What on earth?" He turned to Trevor. "You must know what those are. Are they ghosts, like that beaver?" Regardless of Trevor's answer, Lance wasn't willing to fight them. Even if he could hit them, it would be extremely difficult to hit a flying opponent.
