And yes my post takes place in the future after the raid has started because my character is no where near the fens and it will take a little bit of time for him to get mingled into the rest of the characters already there

I had it in mind that a particular lord that Malakaus is after for personal reasons is a man named Lord Bernard Dowson, a Warhawk who wanted to petition the previous king to subjugate their neighbors for land and resources. The old king for whatever reason didn’t support Bernard’s ambitions, but Mago did. So they formed an alliance which allowed Bernard to hatch a scheme to force the orcs, of which Malakaus was a member of, from their homelands and take the mountains they inhabited. After Mago took the crown after the death of the king, Bernard continued to appeal and petition to the ursurper to solidify control over the kingdom as well as invade more territories to take for themselves.

Bernard would definitely have the money to pay for things like mercenary armies and a guild of assassins, and it’s definitely in his interest to kill Maren or else she might take away his lands since he’s been starting wars to fill his own pockets. He’s pretty much the go to guy for “rich evil person”. The fact he’s so rich is why he’s a powerful ally to Mago since Bernard can supply the new king with arms and armor for his army.

He’s currently based in the orc’s old citadel city which he’s renamed Durum, far to the north. It’s sometbing of a frontier city since the lands up north is home to a powerful empire, but the mountains themselves were considered orc lands until Bernard pushed them out. A lot of people have been moving there, especially shady people with skills that normally isn’t approved in regular society like assassination or witchcraft.

Another possible solution is that maybe some messenger of Mago's is sent to Hark's Frostbourn stronghold instead?

Works for me. While I’ll probally control Bernard myself if we ever gotta fight him, feel free to characterize him as is. While he’s not a total coward obviously when it comes to actual fighting he’s the type to have a stronger champion represent him. Probs the commander dude you had in your previous post.

@Lucius Cypher ok my original post is all finished and I didn’t really have much intention of controlling a big character I just wanted to use one as an entrance for my character which is why I used Mago but I apologize for taking control of a character that wasn’t mine.

Also word of advice: don’t use dark blue as a dialog color. Can’t see it for shit on mobile, and high lighting is a crapshoot.

Alright, with y'all's okay I cleared out the rest of the enemies. Now you should all be free to interact with each other as you'd like. Malakaus's messenger will hang out in the city but all he wants is to pass his message to Maren personally. Dunno if we're going to timeskip to morning or not, I'll leave that specifically to @Polybius.

Jumped the timeline to the morning. Maren is just waking up at the temple of Askari, goddess of healing and the sun. I had to cut short the scene because I have to go! If you guys want to do a early morning post or tie up any loose ends to advance the plot go for it!
