[IC] The Rise of the Guardian

The shop keeper shook his head. "Sadly not. I'm sorry."

Carth took his sword and examined it. He then looks to the shop keeper and nods, looking toward Ash.

Orion nods to them both. "We can do this while on the road." I can get you another mana potion to help recover. But want to make sure your rully recovered before we start." He suggests.

Ash sighed and said “thanks for checking…thank you” she bowed her head and walked out, looking down and depressed a little bit.

Scarlet waved her hand and said “I’ll recover as we go. The more in the light I am the faster I heal. That’s how it works for All the elements.” Then she saw them all look at her funny and said “what, I know that parts true. My friend in school was a mixed fighter and was a water user so he would heal his wounds by soaking them in water.”

Carth bowed his head then quickly following after Ash. "Ash? Hey at least we have a destination of sorts. Maybe we can ask Shinlo if there is a place up north when the info fits." Hoping to show her the bright side of it. He didn't like seeing Ash so down in the dumps like this.

Orion nods. "There is some truth to this. But it has to be outside sources and not your own." He supplies.

Ash nodded and said “ya we can see…I am just sick of always hitting dead ends…every time…” she secured her fan on her back again and cursed softly.

Scarlet nodded and said “right. Nature made” Shinlo said “interesting, I didn’t know that. I wonder why Ash hasn’t used that skill…”

"It's not a dead end though. We got something though. It's like a door revealed itself." Carth explains.

Orion seems to wonder about that. "Maybe because her body and mind aren't truly connected to the element she is meant to have? He theories.

Ash sighed and said “a fan used up north…that could be anything. I mean, it could be just a rumor too…”

Scarlet nodded softly and then said “that reminds me, anyone have any idea what element is tied to that mana pull thing she did?”

"That's why I was thinking on asking Shinlo. He still knows quite a bit about you. Maybe he may know the facts from rumor." Carth elaborates.

The assassins look at each other, wondering that themselves. "We aren't familiar with the mana pull besides what Ash did. I don't think Light would do so...." Kanarus trailed.

Ash sighed again but nodded “maybe…hopefully it’s not another messed up memory…”

Scarlet thought it thru and said “maybe a water or wind advanced skill?”

Carth was feeling a little saddened himself. But he understood. So many questions and so little answers. He could see the frustration and didn't know how to help himself. He nods as he walks next to Ash in silence. He didn't know what else to say.

"Could be. She knows wind. But we figured it wasn't her main element. So maybe water?" Kanarus wonders. Thinking really hard about it. "We could still test her on any element we have to see if she does have a main."

Ash rubbed her face then said softly “I’m sorry Carth, I didn’t mean to bring you down too. I’m just so frustrated and I hate being a step behind…it’s like some dark shadow is hanging over me keeping me stuck…”

Scarlet nodded as Shinlo looked outside and saw the pair returning. “Ah there they are…oh is that Ashs fan?” Then he stopped dead and saw her fan as she turn around and he seemed to freeze seeing it. A memory hit him as he saw flames and dragon cries. He was running thru a battle field, a bundle in his arms as he heard a cry of a bird above him and a flash of black flames hitting silver and purple ones.

Scarlet looked over and said “Shinlo? You with us?”

Carth nodded. Once more as he listened to her explanation. "I understand. I don't like seeing you so down in the dumps."

Orion looks toward Shinlo seeing how still he was. The assassins are just as confused. "Shinlo?" Maltoran asked as he walked up to Shinlo and places a hand on his shoulder with caution.

Ash nodded and said “I’m okay. Just stressed I think…” they head inside the cabin as the assassins were checking on Shinlo and Scarlet got up and said “Shinlo? You alright?” The white Snake didn’t answer till a hand was on his shoulder and it seemed to snap him out of it and maybe him fall to the side as his mind was reset.

Maltoran caught the White Snake as his fell, gently lowing him and Shinlo to where he was holding the man in his arms. Orion came over to check one, checking his pulse and would sniff close to Shinlo to understand is there was something out of place for him.

Carth went over to the three that while Orion was checking on Shinlo, he wanted to check on Isis to see if she was okay.

Isis was wrapped around his neck, trying to wake Shinlo up with her tongue. Ash ran over and knelt down “what happened? Is it his back?”

Shinlo was out of it for a few minutes before stirring and fighting to open his eyes, turning his head slightly. Scarlet stood behind Maltoran and asked “is he okay?”

"It would explain him passing out but the way he was zoned out. Something else caused it." Orion explained. When he began to stir, Orion checked him over for any serious signs of pain. "Scarlet there is vial that is green. It's a pain medication, could you bring it here?" He asks before his attention is on Shinlo once more. "Shinlo? Can you hear me?"

Scarlet moved to get the vial as Shinlo groaned and opened his eyes weakly “what…ouch that hurt…my head…” Ash said softly “what happened Shinlo?” He looked at her and said “I saw your fan…and then I was hit with a harsh memory…it was a battle field…dragons fighting…then a birds scream over the fighting…”

Maltoran tried to help Shinlo sit up as Orion popped the cork on the vial and hands it to Shinlo. "Here. Drink this. It will help with the pain."

"What happen then?" Carth asks Shinlo. Wondering what happened on this battlefield he remembered.

Shinlo took the vial and sipped it then said “I was carrying a bundle…running thru the fighting as a blast of black flames above me above with a blast of silver and purple flames…then it went black”

[Jazz]

Carth looked down in thought and nodded. "Just glad you're alright." He looks at him and smiles, standing up.

Orion looks to Ash to see her reaction. The assassins wondered what to do. Orion stood up as he went over to the couch. He closed his eyes and seemed to be meditating.

She was frowning and said softly “seems this is event is what started all of this…” She helped Shinlo up and moved him to the couch. Scsrlet said “seems north is where we need to go”
