Carth nods. "Probably having to be near the mountains, but I know the river can give off a cool air based on the weather. I rlwasnt expecting to feel the coolness of the air. Guess I'm a tad sensitive to it now."

Kanarus nods understandably. "I think so too. We may have to bait them to reveal who wants you dead and go off what information we can. Sadly you would be the bait or make a decoy based on you." He supplies.

Shinlo chuckled and said “makes sense, I’m glad dragons have their own internal heating source…”

Ash nodded and said “I’d rather it be me then anyone else”

Carth nodded as he looked away and seemed in thought. Still realizing that he was basically a baby, relearning his own body and what he can do. He frowned at the thought.

Kanarus nodded. "We can certainly work on a plan to capture them, it may take one or two to slip away and strike when the time is right."

Shinlo looked at him and said “it will come back to you…just have to remember…”

Ash smiled and said “I have faith we will handle this…just need to find answers. Should we find a place to stop for camp?”

Carth shakes his head. "I have never been a dragon before. Ever. I was raised a human my entire life. I'm learning it all for the first time." He explains.

Kanarus nods as he looks to his brother who nods in agreement. "Good idea." He searches for a good spot before finding a good flat place with coverage of some trees to camp out.

Shinlo said raising a finger “that you remember. Your hatching and first few years as a young one could just be lost to you. You might be older depending on the timeline and who helped you take a human form”

Ash went ahead to look for a water source, knowing they would need some for the journey ahead as well. Scarlet looked around as she jumped down and said “seems clear. Don’t sense anything nearby either”

Carth seems to think on it a nodded slowly. "So there was a time I was a dragon...but how would I relearn it all?" He asks?

Krona comes up to Maltoran who gives her a pat on the head. "Search." He commands. Krona yowls before taking off. Kanarus and Altoron start to unload the bedding and food from the wagon as Orion assists them.

Shinlo said “same with any skill we learn as children. Do and repeat. You just keep getting on the horse till it becomes second nature “

Scarlet came down to them and looked around. “Hey where’s ash?”

Carth nodded, understanding what he was saying as it was drilled into him like no tomorrow. He just needed to be reminded and the knowledge came flooding back of the lessons that he was taught to learn new skills. "Transforming ought to be what I learn the most-huh?" He interrupts himself to hear that Ash wasn't around. Orion looks to Scarlet as he sets a crate down. He sniffs the air for her scent before pointing in the direction she went. "That way based on her scent." He answers.

Scarlet grabbed her weapon and said “she’s been gone too long…” she ran down to the river to look for Ash, not liking the feeling she was getting.

Carth got up and gave Shinlo the rest of the blanket and then hopped out of the cart with his sword. "I'll come too." He goes to follow Scarlet.

Shinlo wanted to go but he tripped and landed hard on the ground under the wagon, cursing.

Scarlet slid down the bank and called “Ash! Ash!” Then she heard singing nearby and she stopped dead, her eyes glazing over as Carth came up behind her. Scsrlet swayed a bit and dropped her whip into the wet sand.

Altoron quickly runs over toward Shinlo and helps him to his feet. "You okay?" Looking the man over.

Carth had almost bumped into Scarlet and caught her as was swaying. Hearing a thunk, he looks down to see Scarlet's whip on the ground, quickly picks it up before he noticed the singing. Looking over Scarlet he curses before realizes he needs to act fast. Getting into his pouch he pulls some gauze and stuffs some in his ears with them in hopes he was in time to not get caught by the music spell.

Shinlo nodded and said “bloody legs fell asleep…we need to go after them. I sense magic in the air…”

Scarlet was limp in his arms, her eyes glazed over as the music was getting louder. It wasn’t pretty, all minor keys and the singing was eerie and almost haunted sounding. When Carth got a look down the bank he would see Ash on her knees, holding her head as a strange creature towered over her. It was a mix of a string instrument and huge fish tail and a woman’s top half. The first time they had seen human forms in the monsters. Ash was trying to fight the music, her fan a few yards away.

Carth cringed at the eerie like music. To see down the bank and to find Ash, he was trying to figure out what to do. He then had an idea and got a couple more pieces of gauze out of his bag before carefully trying to put it in Scarlet's ears. He then ran toward Ash and the creature. Carth was feeling his emotions twofold which didn't help him any as he unsheathed his sword and went on the attack at the half human, half fish creature.

Altoron nodded and helped Shinlo to where they saw Scarlet and Carth go.

Scarlet was against a tree when the others found her, still out of it.

Ash looked up at Carth and tried to warn him but couldn’t move. The creature turned to Carth and the huge tail moved and smashed into him, sending him flying backwards. Ash jumped up and tried to help him but the creature wrapped the tail around her and she cursed, her arms pinned down and her ears exposed. “Carth! Run! Don’t let her get you! Her song…it’s too much…” she tried to fight the magic off but the creature kept going.

Carth was sent flying when her tail collided with him. He hit a tree with the wind knocked out of him. Growing frustrated and angry while catching his breath, felt the heat rise within him. Running was not an option. Ash was his concern and he would male sure she was safe. This added determination raged within as he shifted from. Human to dragon. Still painful. But not as much since he had shifted for the first time.

Altoron went up to Scarlet, looming her over to examine she was out of it, he looks to Shinlo as he heard the eerie song. "Here. If you can uses this cotton. It should help with that eerie song. Check on Ash and Carth. I'll see to Scarlet and meet you there."

A large dragon now stood in Carth's place and roars at the creature. Using his voice to try and overpower the music though he was angry.

Shinlo said “my ears won’t be affected, make sure she is alright” he ran to catch up with the Carth. He came just as Carth transformed and he whistled. “Nicely done Carth…”

The creature screamed at him and Ash tried to move. “Cut…the…strings…”

Scarlet wasn’t answering, her eyes dull.

Carth roared at the creature again as he searched for strings. Once he found them he flicked his tail to cut them. After, he go for the tail and bite the body that didn't have Ash and bite hard till it let go or died.

The creature roared as Ash hit the ground and passed out as Shinlo ran to Ash and called “Carth! Don’t eat the creature! They are toxic!”
