[IC] The Rise of the Guardian

Carth laid back down next to Ash and Kanarus and shook his head. "Not really. Only a wild dog. Is there any left?" He asks, looking into shifting back at least to eat if need be.

Altoron looks back at the pot. There's plenty. I saved a small pot for Shinlo when he wakes up. If you no one wants more, then I don't see why having the rest. We made a little too much anyway."

Scarlet got up and grabbed her weapon and said “wait here. I’ll be back.” She vanished into the trees and Ash said weakly “it’s…okay…Carth…”

[Jazz]

Carth blinked, completely confused by what just transpired. He looks to everyone whom the assassins shrug and Orion continues eating. "She's probably going to see what she can catch."

"Krona. Follow." Maltoran orders. The wolf perks up her head before getting up and leaving the camp to follow Scarlet by scent till she catches up with her.

Scarlet had her weapon up and saw the wolf. “He needs to eat like a dragon…let’s find him a boar”

[Jazz]

Krona links Scarlet's hand before going up ahead hearing the word find. She starts trotting along through the forest the occasional stop and sniff. After a bit, the wolf catches whiff of an animal. She will stop and look to Scarlet till she is caught up before running and following the scent. It takes several minutes but stops and lays paying attention to the source of the scent. Just beyond the bushes is a moose.

Scarlet was right behind the wolf and knelt down and smiled. “That will do…bigger the better…” she moved to her bow and hooked the string and pulled the arrow back, aiming for a fast and clean kill. “If it’s not a clean hit, take it down and finish it with as little pain as possible…”

Then she fired and the arrow hit.

[Jazz]

Krona stayed where she was waiting for the moment to strike. When the arrow hit, it was at the lungs but the mooses instincts were still strong as it tried to run. Krona sprung into action as she spooked it from running away but close to Scarlet before going for the legs
With it running low on breath, it tumbled to the ground which Kron bit it's neck clamping down with a growl to try and finish it off. She didn't let go till it stopped moving completely. After, Krona let go and sat there looking in the direction of Scarlet before howling


Those at camp could hear the howl as Maltoran smiled. "Seems Scarlet caught something."

Orion looked to the assassin. "How so?" He asks, curious on how he trained the wolf.

"When the prey is dead, I have taught Krona to howl the confirmed kill. That way should we have been separated, I know which way to find her and see the kill for myself."

Orion nods, impressed.

Scarlet came over and rubbed the wolfs ears. “Good girl. My shot was a little off it’s mark…thanks for making it fast for the poor creature” she rubbed the moose’s neck and muttered “thank you for giving your life…”

Ash said “that’s clever…I know rangers to train any animal they can. I know one guy who, I kid not, has a herd of boars”

Krona wagged her tail in response. She then stands and follows close to Scarlet.

The three assassins looked incredibly impressed. "A herd of boar? Wonder how he made it work." Maltoran wondered.

Ash flinched as she tried to move and said “his an earth elemental…they have gifts with mammals. Like wind has links with flying creatures and water with water ones. Fire gets reptiles, shadow gets…” she paused to think and said “I think takes nocturnal and light gets…”

They heard heavy steps and the moose hit the ground and Scarlet said “light has a bond with all creatures who live in the sunlight. Carth? Dinner is here”

It seemed it was something the three assassins hadn't realized before since they looked at each other, learning something new. Kanarus glanced behind him to speak to Ash when Krona and Scarlet came back. Krona went back to Maltoran whom set his bowl aside and gave his attention to her. "Good girl."

Carth who had been silent watching and listening, had looked over to see the game that Scarlet brought to him. His eyes widened at the sight of the large creature and impressed. "T-Thank you! You did not have to. But i appreciateit." He bows his head to her, giving her a gentle rub of his head on her arm. He then digs like, his stomach outweighing his concern for the state the meat is in.

Scarlet smiled and said “happy to help. Krona was a great help too”

Ash looked around and said “wait, was this not common knowledge?”

[Jazz]

"That she is." Maltoran praised.

"I had no clue. At least we didn't know. I don't our Brotherhood does at the very least." Altoron explains.

"it seems its not common knowledge. But thats nice to learn. I guess its a natural bond of some sort?" he asks after swallowing his mouthful.

Ash nodded and flinched to sit up fully. “It’s the bond with nature and the world energy…it’s all a web linking to everything”

Scarlet was setting up bed rolls and said “Orion? How’s Shinlo doing?”

[Jazz]

"Good to know. Believe it or not my brother likes river otters." Kanarus states with a grin.

Orion reached over to feel his forehead for his fever, then presses two fingers at his neck to check his pulse.

Ash smiled and said “that would fit.” She put her empty bowl aside. Then held her head that was pounding again.

The fever was there but not as bad and his pulse was weak but steady. Scarlet moved over to the doc sat down.

[Jazz]

"Stable. But he's still not out of the woods yet from this." Orion explains to Scarlet.

Maltoran softly glares at his brother but nothing serious. Kanarus just laughs while Altoron sighs and shakes his head.

Scarlet nodded and said “we should keep watch on both of them. Ash still worries me…”

Ash smiled at the assassins and tried to get up but fell back against the assassin holding her up.

[Jazz]

"Agreed." He looks over to Ash as she was trying to get up and fail. "Ash. If you need help getting somewhere, you better be asking for assistance." He orders.

Kanarus braced himself as Ash fell beck against him. "You alright?"

Ash sighed and said “I thought I was recovered enough…my body seems to be stiff still…” she looked at Orion and said “alright I’ll ask for help…”

Scarlet smiled and said “alright boys, whose taking first watch?”
