[IC] The Rise of the Guardian

Altoron raises his hand. "I'll take first watch." Volunteering himself. Orion acknowledged with a nod before putting his equipment away.

Carth was halfway through the moose he was given. He looked up from his meal as he watched the group before him.

Scarlet nodded and got up and said “Ash, you’re in a tent with me. No buts. You need real sleep and I don’t want you alone. Until Carth can be your keeper again in a tent, your with me or the assassins. Your choice”

Ash blinked, not sure how to take anything she said.

"It would fair better that she is with you Scarlet. With their assistance I hope, Shinlo and myself can share with them." Orion suggests.

Carth tilted his head to the side, confused. Not sure what was going on and what meant what. "I dont understand. Whats going on and what about myself being Ash's keeper?" He asks.

Scarlet smirked and got up to get the tent ready as Ash was bright red. Ash then asked the assassin behind her “could you help me to the tent…”

Shinlo was turning his head in his sleep, his eyes tight his breathing uneven.

Carth was still confused wondering if something he said was inappropriate or if he should have known. Seeing as how his questions would not be answered he huffed a sigh with a puff of air from his nostrils, he turns away and back to his food with a bit of a pout.

Orion was checking on Shinlo when he saw him having irregular breathing. He wondered if it was time for his next dose but before that checked his temperature and pulse again before propping his head and giving the White Snake his next dose of medicine.

"Certainly." Kanarus says before carefully turning and slinging an arm around his shoulder and slowly lifting her up to her feet.

Ash was blushing more as she looked at Carth and said “dang it scarlet…why did she have to bring that up…”

Shinlo swallowed the medicine and groaned, fighting to open his eyes again.

Carth glanced to Ash wondering what she was grumbling about. Instead he let it be. Kanarus assisted Ash when she was ready.

"It's alright, sleep my friend. Rest and recover." Orion assures. The two assassins were setting the tent for the men.

Ash walked with Kanarus and muttered to him “did he see me blushing?”

Shinlo flinched in pain and opened his eyes a little bit, seeing Orion “what’s…the attack…we have to…get everyone to safety…the young ones…”

[Jazz]

Kanarus suppressed a chuckle. "I don't think so. But it's alright. He seems like the innocent kind."

Orion seemed confused, wondering if Shinlo was remembering something from his past. "What do you mean?" He asks.

Ash sighed as they got into the tent and said “thank goodness…” Scarlet had the bed rolls ready and looked over “right here let’s get her laying back down”

Shinlo said “the eggs…we have to get to the eggs…before that monster gets to them…the sisters are trying to hold it back but…the curse is taking hold…we must…hurry…”

Kanarus helped her get to a bedroll, carefully having her sit before helping her lay down carefully. "Do you have any other assistance you need of me before I retire for the night?" He asks the two women.

It clicked for Orion now. He was remembering from the past as Ash had done. "Of course. We shall. Now. Rest friend." Hoping he would close his eyes. This would be something he would add to his entries.

Scarlet shook her head as Ash said “no thank you…your help was perfect…”

Shinlo tried to move and said “I have to get the youngling out…she asked me to protect the heir…he must get out…I have to…before that thing takes over the sister…we have To hurry…”

Orion tried to stop him when Carth got up from where he was laying down and lowered his head. "what is happening?" Carth asks.

"He is remembering something of his past. I'm guessing what happened to the dragons." Orion explained. "Shinlo, gather yourself." Carth nuzzled Shinlo gently.

Kanarus nodded as he then turned to leave the tent.

Shinlo looked at them both and said “the young prince must be saved…I promised her…I promised to save him…” he coughed and fell back against Orion, breathing hard.

[Jazz]

Orion catches Shinlo as he looks for Isis to see where she stowed herself and is safe. Once that is determined, he lays Shinlo back on the bedroll they had laid out for him. He looks to Carth who looks to Orion. Both confused by what transpired. "There is a Dragon Prince?" Orion asks as Carth just shrugs as best as he can.

"That is news to me too. Maybe we can see if we can ask him in the morning? Or till he is better?" Carth asks, unsure. The three assassins came over to them. "The tent is ready. Is he?" Maltoran asks. Orion nods as he stands. The four of them pick up Shinlo and the bedroll and use it like a stretcher as they transport him to the tent. Setting him down gently, Orion begins to try and make him as comfortable as possible. Carth decides to move his food close to the fire as well as himself. After he begins to finish his meal as Altoron comes out to take his watch.

Shinlo was breathing hard again and Isis was around his neck trying to calm him down. He said in his state “I have to…get the young one away…hide him…even from myself…can’t trust the mind…he can use the mind…I have to…she’s counting on me even if…she’s taken like her sister…”

Orion did what he could. An ointment that was rubbed on his chest help him sleep better and breath easier, and a damp washcloth on his forehead. All he could do was wait while her jotted down what was said by Shin from outside and now in the tent. That way they could recall about it all in the morning. Till Shinlo was breathing easier to his liking, only then would Orion go to sleep.

After an hour Scarlet came in and sat by Orion, looking restless. “He still hasn’t fallen back asleep? What’s he been talking about?”

The last little bit had been more talking about the dragon heir and the sisters. Shinlo was turning his head, seeming to be restless as

Hearing the rustling of the tent, he glances back to see that it was Scarlet as she sat next to him. "No. Even been writing down everything he said from before he entered the tent and while he was in the tent. This is what I have so far. This goes real deep. Deeper than I thought. And I have theories and guesses." Orion explains as he stops to let her read.

Scarlet read what he had so far and muttered “it’s the sister legend alright…seems he was more involved then he even knows…what about this part on taking the sisters? Any idea?”

Suddenly Shinlo gasped in his fevered state and his body tensed. His hands shifted into the dragon ones from before then back, his body fighting not to change all the way.
