Okay so what Im getting from all this is that people just hate that Kholodny is a coward who runs from things that may kill him?
When no one has been anything even resembling hostile, yeah. It's incredibly easy to take paranoid fear like that and think: "This guy's a frigging yellow bastard, he is. I don't much like him." Hell, even Talon, a guy who is no stranger to battle, handled his fear and unease in a believable way that was more entertaining than it was annoying. It goes to show that even the battle-hardened clods that you seem to be trying to parody with those characters... can show fear and insecurity.
It's all in how you write your posts. Saying: "Fuck fuck fuck fuck, I'm going to die! Oh dear sweet buttery Jesus!" is a bit off-putting. Whereas internalizing your fear, having a frenzied, yet not overly-dramatic monologue, and perhaps a physical sign of stress such as heavy perspiration or shaking in terror... might be more appetizing and easier to read for most folks.
Simply put, they don't fit the setting. This is a fairly dark and serious sort of setting, that generally benefits from humor only in smaller doses and when appropriate. Were this a cartoony sort of multiverse where characters could run about in fear like Shaggy and Scooby after someone murdered the censors so they could say the word "Fuck", then reactions such as the previously listed one... would work much better.
It goes back to what I've said a couple times now: It's all in how you write the characters/posts. So I suppose I don't hate the characters so much as I am not a fan of how they are currently portrayed.
