Steppe Archer's smile only brightened at the prospect of their job getting easier with the bright moons being out. It certainly made alleyways more inviting, with each hour passing only making each place a more unsafe place for darkness to dwell. She really did feel like they were doing great, even if this was just a single, well-lit night on the job. If she didn't feel like getting harassed by drunks on a bi-nightly basis was a turn-off, she might well have considered swapping careers...but adventures sounded a lot more fun than guard duty. Still, she wouldn't mind taking a job like this another time, if needed to.

As the time grew nearer for them to end their night off and head to bed, Steppe Archer would yawn and stretch, energy finally having hit its limits. "Yeah, we just...gotta get back to the garrison, get paid, and go to bed." she would say, starting to walk towards the center of town with her companions, then back north to the garrison. It was simple enough to get back, and, with the time limit having just been hit, it was a good time for the nomadic archer to finally bottom out on stamina.

Thankfully, nothing would happen as they entered, the archer stepping forward to say: "We patrolled around, and no trouble sir! We found a drunk, but...he found out that going home was a lot better than spending the night in a cell," she would say, extinguishing her torch and saluting.

Lizard Fighter kept his eyes and mind on the job at hand. Those reptilian eyes twitching this way and that when something moved. Rats, cats chasing the rats, and some debris shifting in the errant breezes. The girls talked again, getting a mental sigh from the male. Oh, they were saying it was time to get back to the garrison to report. Great! He walked with them, just because the shift was over didn't mean they wouldn't be dragged into something else.

Thankfully things stayed quiet, the return trip uneventful as they made their way into the barracks. The Archer Girl was finally losing energy after her big yawn. So there was a bottom to that particular well, huh? Like the others he dropped off the torch and shield and made his way to the captains office.

Archer Girl gave a good enough synopsis about the nights events. A little vague though. "The drunk was arguing with the tavern keeper and some intimidation made him run home." He clarified as the Guard Captain nodded and handed the group the paper to give the Guild. Which was probably closed up for the night.

Lizard Fighter pocketed the parchment before leaving the building with the two girls. "Alley camping or an inn?" He asked, obviously not caring which the group did.

After having returned their equipment, and the archer and lizard gave their report to the Captain, who olny nodded in acknowledgement, Druid Girl felt no need to add anythinbg more. The details about what the drunk had been arguing about, and his lewd comments about her chest, didn't need to be mentioned. Still the Captain sighed a bit when there was mentino of intimidation.

"Well, better than having you beaten him over the head and drag his sorry ass here, I suppose." The middle-aged man muttered, standing from his seat and handing over the tiny parchment to the big red lizard. "Good work, if we ever need stand-ins again, I'll know who to ask the Guild for." He said, jokingly of course, before wishing them a good night.

Upon leaving the garrison, the moons had begun to wane a bit from their zenith, though not by much. It was thus barely past midnight, so the guild wouldn't be open at this hour, which meant they couldn't go and turn in their receipt and get paid tonight. Still, Big Red's comment about alley camping made Druid Girl shiver a bit. She was fine with camping outdoors, in the wilderness, but inside a town, in some dank, nasty alley? With flea-addled sewer rats, stray dogs, drunks and possible rapists? No thank you, there were times when human-made establishments had their charm. Plus, sleeping in a bed sure beat sleeping on cobbled stone any day of the week. Of course, the silky-haired, caramel-skinned girl already had a room booked at an inn, but it was a single bedroom...

"Well, I already have a room at the Salty Pork Inn, so I'll be staying there but..." She started, looking at the two. "It's only got one bed... So, I guess you could fit in if we squeezed together in the bed-" She said to the archer. "-but, I'm afraid you might have to sleep on the floor, if you wanna come too." She said, looking at Big Red.

"Oh, but maybe there're still some rooms available for rent there, since it wasn't fully booked when I rented my room." She added, as if a candlestick had just lit up over her head and given her an idea.

UUuuuurrrrrrrrh.....

Druid Girl's face went beat-red. The sound that had just escaped from her belly, and echoed through the empty street they were standing in now, was a clear indication that dinner was way overdo. The girl, however, looked absolutely mortified at the noise she had just involuntairly just made, seemingly wanting to sink through the solid stone street and disappear into the crust of the earth itself.

"Ah... Uh... Ahaha... So, we uh... We really haven't eaten anyhting since l-lunch, huh? Haha..." She tried to play it off nonchlantly, rubbing the back of her head and averting her gaze from her two companions.

Whether they'd join her at the inn she was staying at, or if they had their own accomodations or plans for the night, one thing was for certain. Once she got back, she was going to force the innkeep to give her something, anything to eat!

Steppe Archer beamed as they walked away, a job well done under their belts, and a rumbling in their stomachs. Steppe Archer slumped a bit at hearing the druid girl's stomach, her own seemingly agreeing as it grumbled. "I uh...don't really have money for food tonight but I'd gladly share your room. Hehe...most of my money goes into stabling my horse," Steppe Archer admitted, scratching the back of her head. Looking to their Lizardman friend, Steppe Archer would say: "But I won't go sleeping in a bed if our big pal here has to sleep on the floor, feeling like it wouldn't be fair for him if Steppe Archer got better treatment for being a girl. And small.

Fishing through her backpack, Steppe Archer would offer an apple to the druid girl, smiling. "Its not much, but it might help you save a little by fighting off hunger pangs for the night," the archer would say, just as her own stomach grumbled.

Lizard Fighter raised an eyebrow at the Captain's words, and then his joke. Guards were known to intimidate people getting out of line. At least with his people in the larger enclaves. It was a promise of violence basically to keep the potential criminal from doing criminal things. Maybe humans did it differently? Preferring sugary words and false facial expressions? Either way the job was done, parchment safely tucked away, and they were outside in the cool night air.

Druid Girl clearly didn't relish the idea of camping out in the alleys, and mentioned she had a room at an inn. She offered to share it which got a blink from him. "You two can share it, I'll just pick a spot in the common room. It's a frontier town, I'm sure the proprietor won't mind if I toss some coins at them." He stated, it'd still be a floor space. But Archer Girl seemed determined to sleep on the floor as well if he had to. A single bed room at an inn was not very spacious, no need to clutter it up.

Then the very audible stomach growl from the Druid got a brief chuckle from him. Like a couple seconds worth of mirth from the normally stoic reptilian being. Archer Girl plucked an apple from her satchel and offered it to Druid Girl. "Best to eat light just before sleep. It's not the most pleasant sensation waking up after eating a full meal. Also might be best to keep some dry food on your person, never know when you'll need it." He said, having dried meat resting in his own satchel at the small of his back.

Since this was literally his first time in this human town, he gestured for the two women to lead the way. Honestly if the buildings didn't have signs he'd wonder where the hell he was supposed to go to get things done! And he'd be leading the girls around town all night hunting for the inn Druid Girl talked of.

With their united agreement to spend the res tof the night at the Salty Pork Inn, Druid Girl took the lead for once and guided her fellows to their destination. Since they were in the northern part of Palisade Town, it took a few minutes to walk all the way back down to the south end, but at least nothing bothersome or disruptive happened along the way, making for a nice, quiet and uneventful jaunt back to the inn.

On their way, there was a bit of chatter though. The archer offered her an apple, but seeing how the nomad's own stomach objected to this, druid girl just laughed and said that they should share it. Lizard-bro on the other hand, surprised her with his chuckle. Of course, that was followed up by one of his life-lessons... He really did seem to like spouting these tid-bits of survival tips... Perhaps he had a prominent future as a wilderness survivalist guide, or camping instructor? Regardless, while she appreciated his intention, it was more or less things she had already known and been taught about. The only reason she didn't have any edible things on her person today was because she, originally, hadn't exactly planned to go out and do hard, manual labor all day... But then again, that was probably the point of his 'you never know what could happen'-comment. But rather than try and discuss the topic, she simply sliced the apple the archer had offered, using her sickle, and gave half of it back to the charitable girl. Then ate her own half in record-time. Seriosuly, it took less than three seconds...

The sign outside the establishment was carved from wood, with an image of a pig, with a fork infront of it and a knife behind its rear. No words were carved into the sign through, probably because the picture took up most of the plague's space. The building itself was made from some darker kind of wood, roughly cut and unpainmted. The roof was a mix of wooden planks and some brick tiles and the overall structure stood only two storeys tall. The windows looked a bit grimey, but other then that, it looked as much as an inn as one could expect out here in the boonies. Druid Girl waved her companions on and led them in through the front door, which actually did have some color on it, painted wholly blue for some reason.

Inside, the smell of smoke, ale and the slight hint of meats could be noticed. The place was dimly lit by candles on the wall or in small, black-iron stands. Apart from a pair of gnetlemen sleeping at the bar, mugs clenched in their sleeping hands, there really wasn't anyone around. The front desk was empty and there were nobody to greet them. Well, not at first at least. Emerging from the shadowy recesses behind the bar's counter, a portly man appeared. He wasn't what one could call outright fat, but he indeed stood to gain by losing a few pounds.

A nose like a potato, bushy eyebrows, beard and moustache, sideburns of matted brown color but otherwise bald, a dirty apron over a wool tunic and a pair of beige pants. This was the proprietor it would seem. His small eyes squinted narrowly as he looked at the arrivals who had just barged into his business at these hours. He let out a huff.

"Ain't it a bit late to be out wanderin' the streets?" He asked, voice sour and gruff. Bitter almost.
"Oh, Maestro." Druid Girl said smiling, walking over to the counter. At the sight of the druid, the man's expression softeneed - ever so slightly. "We just got back from doing some work for the guards."
"That so?" The man replied, disinterested. "Them two with you?" He asked, nodding to the lizardman and girl behind her.
"Yes, they're my companions. They helped me out a lot today." She answered.
"That so?" Again, not interested. "Rooms fifteen coppers a night. Twenty-five if you want breakfast included." The man announced, unceremoniously.
"Uhm, you wouldn't happen to have any left over dinner from this evening, would you?" Druid Girl asked, pressing her index fingers together and looking away from the man.
"... Day-old bread and tepid ham from this evening." The man replied. "Five coppers." He declared. Apparently, even he wasn't going to charge full price for food that wasn't fresh.
"I-I'll take a loaf and a plate then!" Druid Girl stated, almost desperately. The man snatched the coins out of her hands and went back behind the counter, into a seperate room.

After a minute or so of rummaging, he returned, a weaved basket in one hand and a clay plate in the other. Setting them down ont the counter, one could see the basket had a few lengthsw of dark, tough-looking bread in it. The plate had some slices of roughly cut, grilled ham on it - though they were more akin to cold-cuts by now. Druid Girl's eyes lit up regardless though, and as soon as she sat her butt down on one of the stools, hte munching began.

"Wha'bout you two?" The man said, turning his gaze to the pair. "Want rooms? Food? Drink? Ain't got all night. Was aobut to put out the candles for tonight." He staated bluntly. Even an innkeep had to sleep after all.

Steppe Archer happily took half of her offered apple, munching it with gusto to the point that she seriously looked ready to eat the core as well. Thankfully however she didn't. The smell of the Salty Pork Inn was...wonderful, to say the least. It reminded her a lot of the smoking tents that her tribe used to preserve meats, which caused her partially filled stomach to feel empty all over again, wishing she could tear into some meat and delight in the taste of cooked food.

Her eyes were fixed on the plate and bread, the druid girls head nodding fast enough that it looked like she was liable to break her neck. "I-I'll take some Day-Old bread and cold ham sir! If there's any left. Um...my druid friend there said I could share her room with her...would that be okay? I could split paying for it with her," the nomad girl said, not quite accustomed to sleeping in an inn. Digging through her coin purse, Steppe Archer would get out the necessary coinage, figuring that she could forage for her own breakfast come morning, or buy some herself with the money from the night patrol that they'd yet to receive. She was thankful that the stable fee was weekly, but she knew she had to get more money...otherwise, she'd have to leave town with Torchfire. Things were so much harder when money got involved...she missed the bartering ways of her tribe. It was so simple...a newly made knife for a pelt, a fresh boar kill for a coat, and medicinal herbs for spices.

Why was civilization so COMPLICATED?

Lizard Fighter watched the two mow down on their apple halves. He blinked a moment, why did humans have to eat so fast? The food wasn't going to run away! He'd have said it was already dead but...was an apple alive when it was plucked? Who knew, and he didn't care. He just followed the pair, keeping an eye and ear out for padfeet. Yes he had heard of thugs and thieves wandering the streets of villages, towns, and cities. No need for their hard earned money to be snatched away.

It was a quick walk, the inn Druid Girl was staying at had a very obvious non-verbal sign. It kind of looked more like a butchers sign, and there wasn't any salt in the picture either. But the establishment wasn't hard to identify, unless you were well off he had noticed human dwellings weren't normally two stories or bigger. Instead building more out than up.

Upon entering there was the typical inn smell, and sleeping drunks at the bar, and was every inn-keeper portly? Cliche! He let Druid Girl handle the gruffly natured man while he looked around at the Common Room. His ear twitched at two, but he kept observing the room, taking note that no one had actually taken up any residence within. Must not be to busy? Then again it was a fairly new town on the frontier. He probably survived off adventurer's and the occasional merchant.

Prices were listed off, they sounded reasonable. The owner of the building went and got the hungry spellcaster some food before looking to him and Archer Girl. Who asked for some food as well, making him shake his head with slight amusement. Women were so strange when it came to food or being hungry. "Guess I'll take a room." He stated, if it had been a packed inn he'd have taken up shop in a corner somewhere. But the man clearly had rooms available. So he fished out the fifteen shiny copper coins, he could hunt for himself or eat the rations he had. Reptilian metabolism, slow digestion, he'd be set for a good bit.

While Druid Girl was busy scarfing down her meal, both the archer and the lizard took their respective turns speaking to the innkeeper. When the nomad asked for food, the man just grunted in response, before disappearing and returning with a similar collection of food that he had given to the caramel nature-wizard prior. At the comment about sharing a room, the fellow just shrugged his burly shoulders.

"She's paying for the room, can squeeze in anyone she wants, s'long as she keeps payin'." He replied uninterested.

At the lizardman's request for a room, the man raised an eyebrow though. Obviously, he wasn't used to having such... Exotic... customers. Still, he grabbed the coins without a second thought and went back behind the counter, returning with a small, wooden plaque that had a string attached to it. There was some kind of symbol painted on it, a circle with a an 'x' inside of it. He handed it over to the lizard.

"Pick any room on the second floor, hang that on the door handle. Keeps people, 'specially drunks-" He looked over at the sad sacks still asleep at the bar. "-from yanking at yer door in the middle o' the night when they go crawlin' back to theirs." Apparently, the little wooden sign acted as a 'Do not disturb'-talisman or something...

Once this was done and over with though, the master vanished back into the back room, seemingly content to leave his cutomers alone. Druid Girl, at this point - with cheeks puffed like that of a chipmunk with a fully stuffed gob - turned to her companions, munching happily with sunny eyes.

"If you wanna clean up or get a drink before you go to bed, there's a well out back behind the inn." Albeit, it was a bit tough to hear what she was saying, what with the chewing and muffled sound from having a mouthful of food...

The midnight snack eventually was devoured entirely, and a vcery, very pleased Druid Girl smiled happily, as if she was the very embodiment of positve energy - food really seemed to be her source of happiness. After politely calling out that they were done eating, Druid Girl led the two others up the creaky, slightly splinter-covered, rough-hewn staircase to the second floor. It was as unassuming and unremarkable as the first floor, with slightly more creaky and uneven floor boards. Several doors, perhaps about a dozen, lined a long hallway ahead. The small wooden plaques that had been given to Lizard Fighter hung on only a handful of them.

"Well, my room is near the end of the hall here, come on." She said, grabbing Archer Girl's forearm and leading her along, before stopping briefly and turning to face Big Red. "Oh! And good night, Big Red! We'll see you in a few hours. Sleep tight." She kept her voice down a bit, to avoid disturbing the other patreons. After all, these people had probably been sleeping for quite some time now, and having some noisy youths jabbering just outside your door might not exactly be something you'd want at this hour.

Moving on, the two girls entered one of the rooms near the very end of the corridor. Walking in, the nomad would behold what a lesser inn's rooms were like, which was to say; Tiny. It was a very tight room, with one narrow bed, a single flimsy wooden chair and a small nightstand. There were no decorations, no mirror, no superfluous things at all. And, as it were, all the other rooms were pretty much all the same. In her room though, Druid Girl had some clothes neatly folded on the chair, along with a small pack leaning against one of the walls - seemingly full of plants, leaves and roots. The bed looked.... Simple. A simple wooden frame with straw and hay, covered by a sheet to prevent prickling. Once the two were inside, the druid closed the door and locked it, then proceed over to the chair.

Rifling through the little pile, she pulled out a thin, long nightgown-like piece of apparel. It was white, and a bit transparent, but it still functioned as a pajamas.

"You want to wear this while sleeping? The rooms can get a bit chilly, windows aren't exactly well-fitted." She glanced over the small, square window near the head-end of the bed, looking at the cracks that were almost big enough to squeeze your finger through. "I'm fine just sleeping as is, so don't hesitate if you want it." She smiled, laying the piece of fabric down over the chair so that Archer Girl could grab it if she wanted it.

After which, the druid unceremoneously removed her bandeau and undid the belt on her half-skirt, causing it to slide off onto the floor with a soft flop. Kneeling down, she undid her sandals and then picked up her dirty, still-a-bit-bloodstained-clothes, folded them up and laid them down on the little table. Now almost completely buck nekkid, apart from her rather white panties, the girl moved over to the bed and, unbothered, laid herself down, scooching in towards the wall so as to make room. Even with that though, it would be rather tight for two people to share. Druid Girl, however, didn't seem to care the least about this, having already laid her head down on the lumpy-looking pillow and letting out a yawn. She was, thankfully, being somewhat modest and at least covered her chest by folding her right arm over it. Looking over at the archer with sleepy eyes, she spoke.

"Well, hurry up now. I'm guessing our big friend's the type to be an early riser." She let out a slight, quick laugh, before turning her head back and closing her eyes, breathiung softly.

After sending her meal down her gullet in a flash, Steppe Archer would race after her new roomie as she was dragged by the arm. Just before they entered the room, Steppe Archer would wave to their big lizard friend, smiling as she said: "Good night Big Red!" managing to keep it to a loud whisper, before entering the Druid's room.

Steppe Archer didn't at all mind the lack of decoration about the room. She didn't exactly expect luxury here on the frontier, nor was she exactly snooty enough to turn her nose at the thought of having to sleep on a bed of straw. It was better than a bed of grass in the cold of night, for certain. Steppe Archer would eye the nightgown curiously, tilting her head slightly before realizing that the Druid Girl was stripping down to her birthday suit. There wasn't any shame in her eyes, but rather a hint of acceptance. Among her tribe, to lay oneself bare wasn't just something done between husband and wife, but between friends and close family. It was ritualistic in a way, especially given how cold the Steppe was at night. Put simply, it was a matter of trust and acceptance to lay yourself bare and expose every weakness you had. As such, Steppe Archer would shake her head at the nightgown and leave it on the chair, stripping herself bare as well and lie beside the Druid Girl, draping her large, long dress atop the two of them.

"Good night..." Steppe Archer would murmur after squeezing in with her new friend, her dress feeling warm and soft atop the both of them.

The proprietor left and came back with food for the Archer Girl. He got the feeling they'd be feeling their heavy meal in the morning. Still, the inn-keeper went to the counter with his coin then came back with a placard. It felt slightly magical and it clearly hung on the doorknob. Maybe when the door was closed it kept unaware people from fiddling? Eh he'd figure it out.

Druid Girl spoke up, albeit muffled by food mush, about cleaning up. They had cleaned up earlier, did humans get that dirty in a few hours? Meh. The two finished eating and up they went. Both of the girls bidding him good night. "Sleep well, we'll be turning this in as soon as the guild opens." He said before going down the hall. He glanced at each doorknob and finally arrived at the corner room. It was free, so he opened it and hung the wooden placard on.

It was a decent room for fifteen coppers. But it wasn't set up how he'd like it to be. So he got a little extra work. The bed went under one of the windows, so if anyone tried sneaking in they'd land pretty much right on top of him and wake hip up. The other had the blanket hung up so no one could see in. The little side table was placed under that window with easily moved objects that would fall and make a racket. Lastly he tied a length of rope from the doorknob to the leg of the bed. The colder night air didn't bother him and his clothes were warm enough. His room was burglar proof unless there was a secret door someplace.

But humans didn't do that in cheap inns...possibly. So with that the big red lizardman laid in bed and immediately passed out. He was always quick to sleep, and even quicker to rise when something was making a racket.

The night went by without anything noreworthy happening, no burglars, no molesters, no drunks trying to get into the wrong room. When Druid Girl awoke, as the early sunlightt began to filter in through the window in her room, she found herself having nuzzled up against her roomie's modest chest. Likely happened while asleep, she quickly retreated her head and sat up, face slightly red before gently slapping her own cheeks a few times in order to wake up. Climbing over Steppe Archer, who was still in the bed, was bit cumbersome and awkward, and she nearly slipped at one point - but thankfully, the girl managed to escape onto the rather cold, rough wooden floor and could then make her way to the bundle of clean, folded clothes she had left out the day before.

Getting dressed, she looked over to the companion and spoke, gently but still not quiet or soft enough to be a whisper.

"Morning! Sleep well? When you've woken up and finished getting dressed, you can come join me downstairs for breakfast, alright? The Guild doesn't open for another hour or so I think, so there shouldn't be any rush." She said smiling, before leaving the room quietly.

Walking downstairs, the girl found that the dining area had almost no people in it at all. Not strange, given the early hour and the fact that most of the other patrons staying the night were likely sleeping off their hangovers from the previous night's drinking. Still, there were a pair of men sitting by a table of their own, speaking to one another in low, rumbling voices. She couldn't tell what they were saying, but it seemed they were too busy conversing to notice anything around them. Thinking very little of it, she proceeded to the bar counter and called for the owner.

After a minute, the gruff and grumpy man of the stoic nature appeared, still looking as chipper as usual! ... By which mean we mean not at all, he actually looked even more irate and bothered than yesterday. Perhaps he wasn't a morning-person? Regardless, Druid Girl either didn't care, or failed to notice it, smiling brightly at him as she began talking.

"I want some breakfast, please!"
"Ain't started makin' any yet."
"Wh-Whaaaaaaat? But... But it's morning!"
"Too early, ain't nobody eatin' at this hour. You'll hafta wait 'til later."
"Bu- But I'm heading off with my comrades to the Guild soon..." She pressed her index fingers togther, pouting, and looking at the sour man with puppy-dog eyes. The grouch sighed in response.
"Fine. I'll make some grain porridge. But ya ain't gettin' nothin' else, ya hear?"
"Yay, thanks!" The girl said, clapping her hands togther and unleashing a smile of sunshine.

The man just scoffed and went back behind the counter, into the backroom where - most likely - the kitchen was. Druid Girl sat herself down on a chair and waited patiently, looking around the rather empty establishment as she did so. Most likely, Big Red would want to just leave as soon as he showed up, and her archer-friend likely wanted to stop by the stables and check up on that horse she had mentioned. Perhaps they could pay the critter a visit before they visited the Guild? Though, the lizardman had said he'd want to hand in their scroll as soon as possible... Oh well, they had the whole day ahead of them, surely they could find time at some point.

A clatter and clamor from within the kitchen revealed that the old codger had begun work on his promised breakfast. Druid Girl sat, lightly swaying with her legs, since the stool was a bit too high for her feet to actually reach the floor unless she stretched. As she sat there, the young druid pondered just what kind of jobs would be available today.

Steppe Archer would have already started stirring at the sound of the Druid Girl's slapping of her own cheeks, but the sliding of skin across her shoulder as the Druid crawled over her definitely woke the girl from her slumber. Hard to keep asleep when mountains of mammary slid across your shoulder. Groaning slightly as she sat up, Steppe Archer would stretch her arms out and yawn, cracking her neck before answering the Druid Girl with: "I slept really good. I'll be down in a minute!" Hurriedly getting dressed in her light attire, Steppe Archer would soon be downstairs after knocking on Lizard Fighter's door twice to wake him up, should he still be sleeping.

Sliding into a seat beside her druidic friend, Steppe Archer would beam, hair either luckily or permanently apparently exactly as she'd left it - Completely fluffed up, yet somehow still fairly straight. It was an anomaly how it stayed so...perfectly messy, in a way. Seeing how eager Druid Girl was to get going, Steppe Archer would pat her back, chuckling before she said: "Don't worry, we'll get paid and head out on another job soon. Big Red and you are really great party members so...I'd like to stick with you guys. If you don't mind that is," the nomad would say, hoping that she could continue adventuring with them. She'd also have to make sure to check up on that Guard Lady today, too...she knew it had only been a day, but some naive part of her hoped that she'd be back to adventuring soon. Maybe they could all party up together, or something.

Lizard Fighter got to sleep very soundly that night, no one messed with his room and nothing else had gone on in the night. When the sun rose his eyes snapped open before he sat up. A stretch, which made his joints crackle and pop, and he was ready to get going. But he doubted the girls would be up right now, so he cleaned up his gear, the loose objects on the side-table, and undid the rope. Fully ready for the day his ear flicked at the gentle two knock on his door. Guess they were up now, possibly early risers?

Shrugging he left the room and went down the stairs, being surprisingly quiet. The two girls were sitting and chatting. Judging by the sounds from the kitchen the proprietor was getting them breakfast. Important meal, but one the reptilian man skipped regularly. Archer Girl talked about staying with the party, making him raise an eyebrow. "No reason to break up if things are going well." He rumbled out as he approached the pair.

The group wasn't a bad set up, close combat, ranged, magic, it only seemed to lack a designated healer. Possibly another front-liner, but he didn't really plan on doing huge quests. The big man wasn't interested in getting famous. "After you've eaten we'll turn it in, see what they have, and prepare. We won't head out right away, too much work too soon and we'd burn out." Lizard Fighter said. He wasn't a workaholic, and he didn't want to stress the pair out by doing job after job.

Druid Girl turned her head when she heard the rather distinct thumps of the lizardman's footsteps. With a melodic 'Good morning~!' she greeted her big, red friend. As they were all together once more, she listned as first Steppe Archer said that she'd like to stick with the druid and lizard, whereafter said lizard agreed that there was no point in splitting up. This made a big smile appear on the druid's face and she nodded energetically in agreement.

"Uh-huh! I think we'll work well together." She added, even if they actually only had done two jobs togther, and both of them were very... Tame... But hey, you needed to start somewhere, right?

A couple swears and grunts from the kitchen later, and the inn-keep returned, carrying a bowl of steaming porridge and sat it down infront of Druid Girl with a heavy clonk. In addition, he dropped a roughly carved wooden spoon down next to the dish.

"There. Eat. Enjoy." He said gruffly, turning away and returning to... Whatever it was an inn-keeper did.

Druid Girl barely had time to blow on the food, before shoving it into her gob. However, despite her love for eating, she didn't seem too excited after tasting the... taste. It was, to be blunt, very bland - and not particularly well cooked either. A tremendous disappointment, and it showed on the girl's face. She looked like she had just seen someone strike a puppy, which had made her sad. She quietly, but unenthusiastically, ate her meal, spoon after spoon gently clinking against the clay dish before it was all empty. Once done though, she perked back up and turned to her allies.

"Well then, let's be off! The guild should be opening right about the time we get there." She said, getting off the stool at the counter and walking over the door, pushing it open with a bit of oomph.

Outside, the sky was still a bit pale and pink in places, but an overwhelming blue was slowly starting to creep across it. There were a few white clouds sailing lazily about, but nothing to worry or be concerned a bout. Palisade Town had yet to burst into full bustling, but there were already some people on the streets, and doors and windows were being opened and unlocked in anticipation of the new day. Stepping outside, the druid took a good, long and deep breath of the fresh morning air, exhaling with a pleased and refreshed sound. She looked back inside at her companions.

"C'mon, let's go! We don't want anybody else to snatch up all the good quests, right?" She jested with am exaggerated wink.

Steppe Archer's face was radiating happiness, elated to know that her companions still wanted her around, and wanted to stick together. Though, her smile faded a bit once she actually saw the Druid Girl eating that gruel. It smelt unappetizing, and frankly...she wasn't spoiled or anything, but at a certain point, she had to wonder if it wouldn't have just been more appetizing to eat the raw ingredients rather than that. She was glad she had the stomach patience to wait until she could procure her own breakfast. An apple was enough for the morning, and she could just sneak out of town to get herself one.

Once her druidic pal stepped out, Steppe Archer was quick to follow, nodding as she raised her hands in the air and said: "Time for adventure~!" in something akin to a hushed yell, not wanting to wake up the people still sleeping in the inn. She wouldn't hesitate to rush straight to the guild, using her extra energy to run straight up to the quest counter, looking back to the door for her companions.

Well at least the group was in agreement that they should stick together. They weren't a bad group, one or two more wouldn't hurt but for the stuff they were doing the small group was perfectly fine. He stretched his arms, getting some deep pops from his shoulders while the innkeeper brought Druid Girl her breakfast. Some sort of oatmeal or gruel? Judging by her face falling it didn't taste very good, but she ate all of it. Her expression got a grin from him before they were to move out.

They started moving, Druid Girl wanting to get there in a hurry so they wouldn't lose out on quests. "I don't want to burst your bubble...but we're newbies. Until we get a promotion our quests will be pretty junk." He said while he pulled out the parchment from the guard captain. The only job left from yesterday had been goblins, they'd have to hope for something interesting today. They made good time and Archer Girl zipped right over to the counter.

He followed before handing the Guild Girl the paper. "Go poke around, see which quests you might want." He said to the pair, his own eyes scanning the quests lazily. The goblin one had a new reward, making it more tempting. There was an escort job, probably because of the goblins, and a roach killing quest. Killing giant bugs...sounded painfully easy. Maybe that would remain for a little bit?

"Would it be possible to take two quests since one leads to the others area, Miss Guild Girl?" He asked, it would be kind of dumb to escort the farmer, come back, grab that, go back out to the area they just were in to hunt goblins.

After Big Red and Druid Girl caught up with their archer-friend, who had bolted ahead of them to the Guild, things followed much the same pattern as before. The parchment was handed in, they were given their coin pouch, but unlike last time there waas no debriefing. According to the Guild Girl, since the receipt was from the Guard Captain himself, there was no need for it.

After this, the lizardman urged the two girls to go oggle the quest-board, which they did. At his question to the girl at the counter though, she looked at him curiously before answering.

"I suppose that's fine, sir. We don't usually have quests that tie into each other like this, but as you say, it would be a waste to complete one and then come back, just to take on the next..." She agreed with him.

Taking up a small ledger, she flipped through the paages, obviously looking for something. After a bit of silence, she apparently found what she wanted, focused her gaze on it for a bit, and then returned to look at the large reptile.

"Yes, well, as long as you pick quests that are within the same area and can be completed in effective succession, we can permit you to take more than one quest." The woman answered - obivously having had to refresh her memories on guild charter and protocol.

Meanwhile, Druid Girl was standing along with the nomad, looking through the various postings on the board. There wasn't much to choose from, just as Big Red had said earlier. But still, there were more than yesterday - which was an imporvement! Still, the selection wasn't exactly great. Her eyes did stick to one quest in particular though.

"I think I'd like to do this one." She said, pointing at the Escort-quest. "We get to travel a bit outdoors, familiarize ourselves with the area and, as far as I know, there's not anything particularly dangerous between here and the listed farm." The girl said with brights eyes and a brighter smile. The chance to go out into nature obviously appealed to her, for even more obvious reasons. "What do you think?" She asked the Archer.

She tried to ignore looking at the roach-quest though. Even if she liked animals, there was something about crawling around in a damp sewer, stepping on overgrown bugs that just didn't seem too appealing...

Steppe Archer couldn't help but cringe at the sight of the quest detailing the slaying of roaches...after what had happened to the Guard lady she'd been adventuring with, she hated to think of one of her companions or herself contracting that disease as well. But thankfully, it seemed her companions weren't intent on doing that one, what with the question Big Red posed of whether they could take on two quests nearby. She had a feeling he meant the Goblin Nest extermination as well as the escort mission; It sounded like a good enough idea. And they'd net over 100 copper each if they managed to complete both. Even more if they found the adventure party that had departed before. Still, she had to wonder what happened to them...were goblins such a huge threat out here? She'd heard they were tricky, and liked to gang up on stronger people to take them down fast but...she figured adventurers were tougher.

Still, it was an opportunity to earn a huge sum of money...so long as they dealt with the goblins. The escort sounded simple.

Smiling, Steppe Archer would give the Druid Girl a smile, saying: "An escort sounds super simple. Plus with the three of us, we're covered for basically anything. We have my bow, your magic, and Big Red's strength!" The girl was fairly confident they could manage. But, she would quickly add: "If we're going to take on that goblin quest while we're there though, we should bring things to heal ourselves with. After all, goblins don't fight fair."

The reptilian man listened and waited calmly while the Guild Girl checked her information about the option for taking multiple jobs. Her answer pleased him and earned her a nod. "Alright, thank you for the info." He rumbled out before moving up behind the two girls. Druid Girl poked at the Escort Quest and Archer Girl was all for it as well. The bow user made a good observation as well.

"Nothing that's fighting for survival fights fair. I'll see if there's more information on the Goblins." He said to the pair as he took the two quests down. "But for gear we'll definitely need torches, probably at least one antidote each, and one healing potion each." He said while handing Druid Girl his portion of the reward from the Patrol Quest. They could shop while he got the information desired.

Back to the Quest Counter he moved and slid the two quests over to the Guild Girl to register them. "I'd like some information these two jobs. Potential dangers on the Escort Job. Also rough amount of goblins, what was the size of the previous party, anything that'd help honestly." Big Red requested. Best to be prepared than dead right?
