If there’s anyone listening, I just want you to know... I know how you feel. I know you’re scared, and upset. I know things have gotten crazy out there, and you don’t know what’s gonna happen next. That’s understandable. We’re well past the singularity now. And it’s only gonna get crazier from here.
Some of you are worried your neighbors are gonna wake up tomorrow with powers they can’t control. Some of you are worried about yourselves waking up with powers you can’t control. You’re scared of all the bad guys who’ve been cropping up. The monsters.
We get it. It makes sense. And it’s all right to be scared. No one’s judging you.
But there is good news. Because wherever the bad guys are, we’ll be there, too. You’re not alone. You’re not defenseless. We’re here. We exist. And we’re on your side.
We’re the good guys.
The heroes.
Your friendly neighborhood... Spider-Men.
It’s September 1st, 20XX. The location is Earth-1919. Specifically, the New York City of Earth-1919. It’s a world that should look familiar to you. One very much like your own, where legends and superheroes exist only in movies and comic books.
But not for long.
A “gas attack” at Empire State University has turned into an epidemic. Hundreds, even thousands, are falling sick. Greenwich Village has been quarantined. Most of those infected will die.
You will not.
You have been chosen. By some freak chance, or destiny, you have survived. But not unchanged.
And you’re not the only one.
The world is about to get much bigger. Much stranger. Much more dangerous. And you’re going to be at the center of it all.
Are you a hero? A villain? A little of both? Up to you.
Only you can decide what kind of Spider-Man you’ll be.
Welcome to the Spider-Verse. It’s gonna be a wild ride.
Welcome, one and all, to Tales from the Spider-Verse!
Following a chemical attack on Empire State University- dubbed the "Recluse Incident," after the label on a strange device recovered at the scene- you and a choice few others will wake up exhibiting strange symptoms and abilities. Specifically, those of a Spider-Man. How will you react to your new powers? Where will you go, and what will you do? It's all up to you, but be careful; you're not the only one who was affected by the Incident. And some of them might not be so noble as you are...
But with all that out of the way, welcome, have fun, and enjoy your stay here in the Spider-Verse!
All right, let’s take it from the top, one more time…
What’s your name? (Obvious.)
How old are you? (Max age 20; somewhere between high school and college age is preferable.)
What do you look like? (Description is preferable, picture is acceptable. Both is even better. Costume ideas optional; you can wait for IC for that part.)
What did you do before the Recluse incident? (Lay your backstories on me, guys. Good, bad, Uncle Ben moments, etc.)
What happened after the incident? (Power time! Take 100 points. Divvy them up between the following: Super Strength, Agility, Durability, Regeneration, Spider-Sense, and an optional Mutation if you so wish. Then describe your powers in-character. Keep in mind, you’re still superhuman by normal standards. This is just how you set yourself apart from other Spiders.)
Do you believe in aliens? (Also self-explanatory)
What are your goals for the future? (These can be your goals as a newly-minted superhero, or mundane goals like going to college and paying the bills. Hey, Spider-Manning doesn’t pay the bills; everyone’s gotta have an ambition, right?)
You lived in New York for a while now, right? What do you think of the city?
How much technology do you use on a daily basis?
What do you like? (Hobbies, talents, interests, things you like and are good at.)
What do you dislike? (Fears, food you hate, things you consider not-good or bad.)
Do you think true evil exists? (Heavy question, eh? Just answer honestly. No pressure.)
What’s your favorite color? (Self-explanatory; also a place to put your text color if you have one.)
Favorite song? (What song defines your character?)
Anything else to add? (Miscellaneous. Anything that wasn’t covered upstairs, or anything you think is worth mentioning.)
What are your thoughts on these people? (Relations. List each character by name, in their respective color, and your character’s current thoughts on them. Most characters should be aware of each other at least a little. To what extent is up to you.)

What’s your name? Raymond Davis. The fam call me Ray-Ray, the streets call me X-Ray.
How old are you? 19.
What do you look like? The hell kind of question is that? I look like me.
5’9” Athletically Slim Build Black Hair Hazel-Brown Eyes
What did you do before the Recluse incident? I was born and grew up in Harlem. Got caught between my mom and dad. It didn’t end well and I was living with her. Joined a gang named the Skywalkers, did some…outlawish things. Did some graffiti art. In some of the most ridiculous places imaginable. Lost my big baby brother…
Are you trying to make a documentary or something?
What happened after the incident? I ended up ditching the Skywalkers, they wanna kill me now. They’ll get over it...eventually. Actually started paying attention in school and did more art projects. Oh yeah, and...I went to the doctor’s office for my check-up and my blood kept melting through equipment. That’s just the most recent of the weirdness though...
Do you believe in aliens? You mean the LGMs that you and Buzz Lightyear are hiding at Area 51? Y’all ain’t slick.
What are your goals for the future? Ma tells me I could qualify for some fancy art school if I put in the effort. Question is, is that really what I want to do?
You lived in New York for a while now, right? What do you think of the city? It’s its own world, like, there’s the earth, and then there’s NYC. The good, the bad, the ugly, the sexy, what’s now, and what’s up next. Maybe I’m just a little biased.
How much technology do you use on a daily basis? Depends on the day. I’m typically on my phone a lot. Whether listening to music, watching videos, gaming...So, a lot.
What do you like? I’m kinda into art, be it urban or more traditional. Music, be it more rhythmic or more substantial, whether I could listen to or make it. Guess that leads into Dancing. Not the best at it, but I've got some moves. History, like family history or stuff that happened hundreds of years ago. I do like stories. Tall Tales, Folk Tales, Novels, Comics, all that good stuff. Free-Running’s become a hobby of mine after watching action movies as a little kid. Girls. Shouldn’t have to elaborate on that one.
What do you dislike? Snobby Folks. Especially rich ones. Lying for stupid reasons. Know-it-alls. Mumble Rap. Walnuts. Injustice & Prejudice. Cooking. I love food, but suck a cooking it though. Other stuff I don’t feel like talking about...
Do you think true evil exists? Every villain is the hero of their own story. There’s always a point A that got them to point B. People aren’t born evil, so, nah.
What’s your favorite color? I like indigo, but this baby blue color works out pretty good too.
Favorite song?
Anything else to add? You can probably smell what The Rock is cooking, nosy as y’all is...
[Wears a beaded necklace that his older brother made for him when he was in kindergarten. Is never seen without it.]
What are your thoughts on these people? Scott Yi: Don’t know much about him, but he seems like a chill dude.
Alexander Lee: Tony Jaa fanboy? He’s cool I guess. Saw him around in high school, but never really paid him any mind.
@Akayaofthemoon My only caveat is to avoid going “Cosmic.” Try to keep it X-Men to Marvel-street-level. As you can imagine, that still gives you a lot of leeway.
I mean, Miles Morales has bio-electricity and optical camouflage. And he’s only one Spider. You can get pretty weird before I’ll tell you no.
@DC The Dragon Looks pretty good, just wondering what his “Mutation” is, specifically.
Ah, maybe I should've been a little more clear. But it's having partially corrosive blood. That in tandem with the webbing I thought would be interesting.
Makes web swinging a little more difficult, but projectile webbing more dangerous.
@DC The Dragon Ah, my bad, I must not have read that part. Okay, looks good. My only other concern is that you seem to have conflated Strength with Durability. Those are two separate stats. Fix that part for me, and you’re in.
@DC The Dragon I'd also like to point out that orgo-webbing is another mutation on its own. A very minor one, at that (Meaning the 5 points would probably cover both, but it should still be listed). Unless you were considering Ray mixing his blood with the synth-webbing he ends up manufacturing. Which would be... interesting.
Okay everyone, since Strand may-or-may-not have been active for a year or two already, if anyone wants their character to be aware of him and, thus, have an opinion on him in such a capacity, feel free to! Just let me know when you do.

What did you do before the Recluse incident? "After I was born, my ass of a father decide to left me and mother alone and leave my mother devastated and heartbroken but like the badass she is, she didn't give up raising me and I become a badass like her. I was against at first but my mom say this will be good for us and with this promotion, we will get more money then back home, plus it will help me get new friends or something."
What happened after the incident? Super Strength: 1 Agility: 19 Durability: 1 Regeneration: 19 Spider-Sense: 25 Mutation: 35

What’s your favorite color? "Blue, obviously"
Favorite song?
Anything else to add? "Beside playing my melodica, I can also play stylophone, otamatone and concertina."
What are your thoughts on these people? Reyna Agbayani - Parent "My mom have always been there for me while my father didn't, she work so hard to take care of me and always supportive of me, that I'm lucky that I have a mother like her"
Suzy Maxwell - friend/crush "When I moved to New York, Suzy was the only that welcome me with open arms while the other students didn't. We everything together, play video games, making music, getting trouble and just relax."
Are new people who didn't see the interest check able to still pop in here? I wasn't sure if you were still accepting new people or not, but I thought it'd be worth it to ask since this looks like it'd be cool.
