The Custodians were once Angels, of every rank from Cherubim to Seraphs and even one Archangel, who rebelled against The One Deity and were cast down into the Universe, a thousand or so light-years from Historia, after their rebellion. After being cast down, the Custodians were made mortal, albeit with 'Metahuman' powers tied to their genetics, and unable to tap into Magic. Yet despite this, they retained their overwhelming knowledge of the physical world and sciences and used it to found first a civilization, then a Star Empire which oppressed lesser races.
There are two factions of Custodians, with the first being The Collective, which confusingly applies to both the thirteen former Seraphs and single Archangel which were now reduced into Metahumans, and their multitudes of followers and slaves in their Star Empire. The second is a resistance movement, The Repentant, which are led by one former Seraph and their followers, both 'original' Fallen and the children born to the Custodians when they became mortal.
And finally, it is rumored that the Unfallen Custodians, messengers of The One, still exist in Heaven, reforged into transcendent beings with additional powers which allow them to mentor and coordinate 'Risen Martyrs', the souls of mortals whose virtues In life had made them adequate replacements for the Custodians' duties in Heaven and Hell (which in this setting is closer to Purgatory and a place to reform and redeem sinners instead of torturing them forever). These Unfallen are detested by The Collective, who forbids mentioning their names in their dominions on pain of excruciating death.
As for the Fallen Archangel who now leads The Collective? He is now known as Ubersmench, and his powers give him near-invulnerability, super-strength which can destroy planets, flight, and heat vision as long as he is underneath a Yellow Sun...
Update:
I, Jest, and Windstormugly talked about Custodian Lore a bit more, and we decided to edit the Custodian's lore to make The One less intentionally dickish. Here is the lore in bullet points:
- The majority of Custodians didn't rebel, and are still in Heaven. - Only a few thousand Custodians were cast down to the Universe. - Fallen Custodians can breed with other Custodians to make full-blooded members of their race, and breed with other species to create Part-Custodians. - Few Custodians ended up in Historia as Coyote did. - The grand majority of Custodians founded a 'Star Empire' a thousand light-years away from Historia. - The reason the Star Empire doesn't just invade Historia is that even with advanced technology, the Galaxy is still very big and it's hard to find one single planet. Thus, they have to be summoned by [SPOILER] or be extremely lucky.
Edit: I changed this so that William had two siblings but one of them survived.
Name: William Ascot
Appearance:
Age:16 18
Bio: William was born to Cyrus and Gilgamesha Ascot - The former was a lawyer and diplomat, while the latter was the most beautiful and prideful warrior-maiden in the world. This pairing of minds and bodies was very unusual even in Iliad city, with many wondering whether Cyrus Ascot had used sorcery higher than Gilgamesha's own epic-scale powers to charm the lady. But the marriage proved loving despite the inevitable rumors and brought William an older brother and two younger siblings as well as him. All were raised in happiness and love, albeit ignorant of the world beyond Iliad City except for what they saw in books.
But this idyll would not last forever, as terrorists from The Herrmannreich, the closest neighboring nation and sworn enemy of Iliad City, struck at the Ascot Family as they were celebrating William's successful entrance into Marduk Academy, where Gilgamesha was teaching. Despite the great power Gilgamesha was capable of using, the closeness of her family made sure she couldn't use her full strength without harming them. And so the terrorists, with knives and suicide vests, killed all of the Ascot Family except for Gilgamesha and a heavily-injured WIlliam and one of his siblings.
Although William was fully healed, both himself and Gilgamesha were traumatized, and their reactions drove them apart - William wanted to know why the descendants of the Illuminated Poet are being purged, while Gilgamesha wanted only revenge against the world. And so when William came back to Marduk Academy, he founded the Cassandra Club, aiming to nip the feuds caused by his mother's new obsession in the bud. It didn't work, and Gilgamesha and William ended up arguing more. Eventually, Gilgamesha slapped William in anger, and in her other hand was a sword which glowed with magical energy - One of her many artifacts.
It was seeing William's frightened eyes that shocked her into seeing the enormity of what she was going to do, and drawing back her blade, Gilgamehsa, with tears, asked William to leave before she hurt him further. And with that, their connection was severed.
William went to stay with his aunt, Cyrus' sister Artoria, who lived alone as a spinster. Dropping out of Marduk Academy, he devoted himself to the Cassandra Club's activities full-time, trying to find ways to unite adults and teenagers alike to finding the true foe and defeating them...
Mundane Skills: Writing/Runescribing, History, Fencing and Unarmed Combat, as well as a bit of Shooting/Marksmanship. Ascot is also learning to be a Blacksmith/Weaponsmith.
Magic: William's Magic is not based on what is taught by either of the Academies but is rather his father and aunt's unique style of spellcasting. This unique type of spellcasting is Dream and Imagination Magic and it is directly descended from the Illuminated Poet's exclusive portions of the Epic of Making.
Forge of the Soul- William can manifest a forge and tools made of light drawn from his very soul. He does not require fuel for the forge, and it is always exactly what he needs to get the job done, however it does still take time to craft artifacts in this manner, leaving him vulnerable if one should attack him while he is working. Additionally, the process can be not merely physically draining for the effort, but also a drain upon his magical energy. Use of this ability in the midst of battle is extremely risky, and requires the cooperation of allies to protect him in his working state, and exhausted state should that also arise from extended use of the Forge of Soul.
Eyes of the Artificer- Upon observation of a magical artifact, William is able to understand how it works, and is able to completely duplicate it, providing that he can acquire the materials and magic to do so.
Cognition of Components- In tandem with his ability to see how an artifact works, William is also able to sense the location of the materials needed to craft any given object, rendering him always capable of finding just what he needs. However, sometimes obtaining them can be another matter entirely.
Binding of Magic- William can bind magical power into an artifact in order to render it... well, magical. It may be his own magic, or that of others, or other artifacts, or whatever it is available to him, but he must have the time to do so in order for the process to be completed. This can be used in order to make items specific to a user by binding their magic to it, or it can be by taking a fragment of power away from its original source. In the latter case, the magical power of the original source is diminished by whatever amount he has removed from it. The greater the amount of power which he has to re-channel, the more of a strain it is upon him.
Endurance of the Blacksmith- A general enhancement which temporarily hardens William's skin like stone and increases his physical resistance.
Reconciliation - A sword meant to be a weapon against his mother, Gilgamesha, and her own treasure trove of Artifact Swords, the special power of Reconciliation is that when confronting a power based on the Elemental Magic System (Fire, Water, Earth, Wind, Air, Light and Darkness), it immediately enchants itself to be the opposite element and can also conjure up waves of said element as a ranged attack.
Fire is confronted with Water, Water with Earth, Earth with Wind, Wind with Fire, and Light with Darkness and vice versa). The main weakness of Reconciliation is that when confronted with powers that are not based on the Elemental Magic system, it defaults to Earth.
Personality: William deals with the hurt of losing his family through death or internal drama the best way he knows how - Project a strong and dynamic front to hide the pain inside. This gives him an apperance of overconfidence as he tries to portray himself as knowing the best at any given time, listening to advice only when he trusts the person giving it or it does not make him look stupid. When this apperance is destroyed, the main reaction is hurt, anger, and sadness, all sharpened by the fact that he has not dealt with the pain maturely... Much like his mother, a mother he wants to reconcile with greatly.
Faction (Marduk, Ishtar, or Cassandra): Cassandra Club.
Are you a Descendant of the Illuminated Poet?: Yes.
This Character has Permission to Use from RoflsMazoy, its original creator
Name: Shah
Appearance: A brown-skinned young man of uncertain age (but probably mid-to-late teens) who wears jeans, a plain T-Shirt, and shades which contrast with his fur-lined velvet cape, dark sunglasses, and of course, a gaudy golden crown on top of his head.
Age: ???
Bio: Shah is a member of an Alien Race, the Custodians, who were the first species created by the One Deity at the beginning of time, and the only one directly designed and shaped instead of evolving from primordial matter. As the literal Angels of The One, the Custodians were the only sapient species that didn’t have to go through evolution and they were proud of it.
In time, they grew so proud of their Angelic nature that they tried to usurp The One Deity and were promptly cast down into the Universe with only a fraction of their powers, and so had to build themselves up from scratch. Some few made use of this opportunity to repent of their crimes and begin helping the younger races, while others sought to dominate them. Due to The Fall being a long time ago (one million or one hundred thousand), the Custodians had the time to build a civilization more advanced than that of many mortal races, as they kept their knowledge of the physical world, which was enough to surpass several civilizations' worth of science.
One day, they were contacted by a being known as [REDACTED], who offered them a chance to gain revenge on The One - Help him eliminate the other descendants of the Illuminated Poet and he will give them back their exalted place once he had the power of The One. The Collective, the rulers of the Unrepentant Custodians, accepted this offer and sent infiltrators to the planet of Historia to enter Human society and begin turning people against the descendants of the Illuminated Poet.
Shah was not one of those infiltrators - Rather, he was part of the ‘Repentant’ faction of the Custodians who wished to continue preserving and nurturing Creation. And so, upon hearing of his brethren’s actions, promptly went to Historia to try and stop them. However, no one, even in the ‘safe haven’ of Iliad City, wanted to believe him. Nor did it help that Shah lost most of his advanced technology and records of knowledge when he crashed his spaceship into Historia’s oceans and had to get to the mainland by himself, or that his enemies had forewarning of his coming and were ready to spread lies about him when he reached civilization.
And even in Iliad City, enough people believed said lies so that when he arrived, he was promptly imprisoned and placed in a laboratory for experimentation...
Mundane Skills: Shah knows a wide range of subjects, including details of how to craft and produce advanced technology that was just as powerful as most forms of Magic. He also has a working knowledge of biology and medicine, as well as physics, that would impress seasoned experts, as well as practical architecture (as opposed to artistic). However, his knowledge of the ‘hard’ sciences is balanced out by his lack of knowledge of Human culture and history...
Magic: Custodians like Shah cannot learn Magic like Humans do - Rather, they have innate powers which can grow in strength as they age, but which cannot be added to. Shah has only two powers.
Flight - The ability to fly in the sky for miles on end.
Regenerative Immortality - Shah can regenerate even from a single cell and can only be killed by burning every part of him with magic or fire.
His ability to create super-tech does not come from any power, but is a mundane skill instead.
Personality: ???
Faction (Marduk, Ishtar, or Cassandra): N/A for now.
Are you a Descendant of the Illuminated Poet?: No.
Bio: Son of Kaarle Kadir and Ulyssa Kadir, Kelly is an only child. He is born to a culture-rich family - one who's piety for magic has brought them far in Iliad City. The Kadir lineage is one who values all forms of magic - seeing great beauty and value in even the most subtle uses of it. This philosophy extends to Kelly's parents as well as himself, seeing them to be very invested in his magical education. The only problem is - the family line's magical prowess is noticeably lacking in raw magical power. But they don't let it hold them back - they study to understand most forms of magic, and use their knowledge to turn the tide of battle by using an opponent's own magic against them, as opposed to enforcing their will upon the magic-devoid world around them. As a result, the lineage has seen success among their peers, and have become respected by some.
When it comes to Kelly's parents, his father is a Philosopher-bookwriter by occupation, and his mother an administrator of Ishtar Academy. As a result, his drive and discipline are well-tuned tools, allowing him good grades in all subjects. He is well-read, both by will of his parents and himself, and hence is intrigued with the world outside of Iliad - even though he has never seen it firsthand.
The family are descendants of The Illuminated Poet on his mother's side, and as such, are wary of intruders to their close relations and surroundings - seeing as though they would likely be relatively easy targets for assassination attempts. Hearing that this is a possibility is a worrying thought for Kelly, but he isn't going to let it stop him from performing as well as he can in his study to become a figure of magical innovation.
Magic: Kelly follows the path of his lineage, due to partial necessity. Since his connection to magic is weaker than most, he has to innovate - rather than impose himself on his environment, he uses the energies of his opponents against them. When not simply inverting the power of his opponents, it can be strenuous for him to call upon other forms of magic from his many studies - but he has learned to somewhat compensate for this by using conduits through which to channel his magic. A scepter, chalk/runecraft, and symbolic tattoos being among the most common means of this.
Mage's Linecraft - Kelly uses simple artistry to augment his casting, allowing him a variety of magic options despite his lineage. This linecraft comes in several forms - Chalk arts, Tattoos, and even written scriptures, among others. These magical assists usually do not stand for a specific use of magic - though can if it is required - and can be utilized for many different situations, but are limited by their shape. One may notice that Kelly has some of these markings on his hands; he has one on each side of each hand, all in the form of a perfect circle with intricately detailed borders - thought the tattoo of the left palm is noticeably more complex. It isn't common, but when he is seen wearing short sleeves or no sleeves, two simple, thick-lined tattoos are visible around each bicep.
Dark Enchantment - Although Kelly is versed well enough in most magic specializations, his uses of such are limited. Those uses he does employ could comfortably sit in this category, a hybrid specialization of Ishtar's Dark Arts and Marduk's Enchantment magic systems. Such a specialization is the only thing besides Linecraft and his counter-techniques that he trains regularly.
Intellect Drain - A rather brutal technique, Kelly combines the rune of his left palm with his Dark Enchantment training to deal a crippling blow to an opponent within arm's reach. Upon activating this spell, he begins to drain the raw intelligence from his victim, absorbing it for himself to increase his strategic ability and overall brainpower. Against regular people this is a simple incapacitation technique that leaves them drooling on the floor - however, other magic wielders can defend against it. Magically-inclined targets are able to keep the drain's effects at bay as long as they are mentally sound. Those suffering from dread, rage, sorrow, or other strong emotions are vulnerable. It is also quite easy to overcome someone by surprise with this technique. Victim's minds will rapidly regenerate after a couple dozen minutes, after which Kelly will lose the buff he attained.
Luster Purge - Kelly focuses on a source of magical energy, disrupting its stability for a very brief moment, before imploding its energy in on itself. This implosion eradicates all light in a ten foot radius of the target, leaving a dome of darkness for a minute or two. If the target was a magic wielder, they will feel an intense, distracting pain moments before the implosion - however, anyone caught in initial generation of the darkness dome will have all negative effects they are suffering purged.
Enchanted Mind - Kelly's piety for magic is almost like a veritable force when enhanced by his Poet's lineage - in fact, it is. As a result, his dreams and absent thoughts act as a shield for his mind - the cogs are constantly turning, coming up with new ways to utilize this cherished ancient gift - and this is all those who enter his mind will see. Furthermore, they act as a buffer against mental attacks.
Personality: Kelly is a somewhat stoic person - seemingly unaware of his own emotions at most times - and appears much more interested in the state of his surroundings than the state of his own assets. Be that as it may, his emotions are brought to the surface by his many interests - among them the strongest being Magic. You could say he adores magic - every aspect of it.
He is very polite, even to those he may have a distaste for - of which there are none, yet - making him a rather agreeable individual. As such, it's relatively easy to become "friends" with him, but he's a little on the socially-clumsy side - he doesn't often take into account his self in relation to his surroundings(socially), so you'd likely have to actual tell him you want to be friends for him to realize it.
When it comes to conflict, Kelly is not one to shy away. He takes disagreements on logically, and if it comes to arms, he takes them on strategically - a fitting state of mind for his skill set. He even finds himself enjoying a little bit of conflict now and again - as it opens up the opportunity for him to adore magic in its most unpredictable setting - combat.

Are you a Descendant of the Illuminated Poet?: Yes.
”This is dreadfully annoying, I don’t want to break my nails but… I might have to sooner or later. May the Will of the Matriarch guide me.”
Name: Sarah Viola Darvon
Appearance:
Sarah has unnaturally long White Hair, which goes past her lower back and stops slightly short of her lower thighs. In her eyes there’s a slight spark of wanting something more than what she has, which is because she misses her parents. If it wasn’t for the fire and flicker in her eyes, which want and deserve revenge against Louise. However, there’s more to her than just that wanting revenge, she looks highly intelligent and isn’t stupid one bit. She dearly looks like she has a chip on her shoulder because of what happened to her parents all those years ago.
However, she has a look of never wanting to get her hands dirty or clipping her finger nails, which she is usually highly annoyed if that happens. Additionally, she wears black dresses, which bring out her eyes and hair color more. However, she has a very nice smile when she does do that, even though she easily shows her frustration.

Age: 18
Birthdate: March 8, 3002 AIP
Bio:
Sarah V. Darvon was born into a highly wealthy and idealistic driven, which is the Darvon Family they are the Descendants of the Illuminated Poet. They are specifically infused with the Matriarch’s Will, which was the founder of their family. She was specifically a daughter of the Illuminated Poet, however, she died during childbirth. It was sad for the Darvon Family, but they lived on with the Matriarch’s Will within their hearts. This will specifically makes them heavily defensive minded and only want to finish a fight and not to start it, it shows their resolve against adversity. In this case, their family focuses on Magi-Technological Development for themselves and for their fellow citizens in Iliad City. They are basically magitech engineers, which focus heavily on theories and other forms of combining or merging Magitech onto themselves.
This family had a breakthrough in creating the first ever Magitech Controller Unit, which started the Darvonian Magitech Academy For Magi-Technological Development. The person who succeeded expectations was no other than Jessica L. Darvon, whom risked absolutely everything to make sure it would succeed. Her personality stayed intact when using the Magitech Full Drive System, which the Darvon Family created to turn into the Magitech Controller Unit. However, not all people have a similar upbringing to Jessica’s, which will cause some problems within the Magitech Full Drive System.
They are truly kind, generous and use their power for the greater good of their nation. The Matriarch Will serves them greatly, which caused them to have great reformers within their family that allowed both genders within their family to have equal rights. There is no discrimination between the sexes in the Darvon Family, everyone has the right to veto or accept a path of their Corporation to go down. It was because of Angela and Justine that caused this change in the family. This change caused them to have multitude of many more ideas flowing freely within their family. It caused them to alter their entire power structure within their retail store chain called Darvon-Mart or Darvon’s Club and including their Board of Directors for their primary Corporation. This was when the title of Tripartite Directors was created.
In terms of Sarah’s Birth on March 8, 3002 AIP, which was a momentous occasion for her mother Angela and her father Irvin. However, Sarah had much more pressures to deal with than the previous generations of her family’s ancestors. It’s mostly because the responsibility of becoming a CEO and apart of the Darvon Family Council takes much planning and desires to be fulfilled. Her requirements to fit these roles would be a strong idealistic will alike the one they follow, which will allow her to understand her family’s history. The other thing is all languages, Magitech Engineering, Dancing, Singing and Writing. These were much different to most high society children’s families since they required her to be much more focused on becoming ready for the Merging Process to become a Magitech Controller Unit. However, she can handle talking to people in the high society with a smile on her face.
Her tutors were kind, however, they saw a great amount of intelligence within her. She was very outgoing and quite alike her mother Angela in someways but in others was more alike her father Irvin. It’s mostly because Irvin always protected Angela from any and all things because of her hyper trusting personality. Sarah on the other hand, wasn’t stupid you cannot be so trusting you fall prey to betrayal. It’s mostly because she listened very carefully with every single minuet detail the person was speaking, it helped she wanted to learn how to defend herself.
Between getting older, she had gotten a little sister by the name of Rosella. She wanted to be the good older sister to her younger sister. However, When she turned 8 years old she was taught Magitech Firearms and Melee Weapon Training. Her father taught her specifically to fight with the Long-Ranged Magitech Rifle Gradius-6. Irvin knew how much Sarah & his wife Angela was against fighting hand-to-hand because breaking a nail, which is mostly because of the fact no one has ever raised their fists in anger. The Vanity of the Darvon Family is how well kept their hands are since its always better to shake someone’s hand rather than hit them. Sarah’s calmness and changes to become a great candidate to become the 2nd Perfect Magitech Controller Unit via the process of the Magitech Full Drive System without any problems.
However, it would take at least at a total of 4 years before that would become the case. Since the usual procedure is within the Darvonian Magitech Academy’s Merging Facilities. It is a precaution so none of the Magitech Controller Units go on a rampage and start killing their fellow students or people within Iliad City. Since there hasn’t been an accident in that academy in awhile after its founding all those years ago.
However, something that changed her for the rest of her life happened on her twelve birthday. The Family never saw the betrayal right in front of their faces, which was the Tripartite Directors were planning something massive. She was supposed to go to the Magitech Academy but her parents wanted to show her one of the new mass produced Magitech Behemoth Tanks. These were in Magitech Factory #35, which was on the outskirts of Iliad City. This was the very first time she met Louise K. Testa-Carla, which was the new leader of the Tripartite Directors. Louise acted friendly, but was hiding something from them, until Sarah felt the energy of the Magitech Controller Unit. It was faint energy, which sparks around the area hitting random magitech equipment.
Angela greeted Louise as the new leader of her directors, without knowing what was wrong. It took Irvin to speak up basically asking why is she in Magitech Controller Unit form and hiding it as well. Louise sighed and always knew Irvin never trusted the Tripartite Directors but his wife was too trusting. She removed the cloak, which was hiding the Magitech Controller Unit form and had her Magitech Falchion Ripper Sword in her left hand. However, Sarah was utterly terrified because she didn’t knew or know this would be possible, she started to cry. Angela asked Louise what is up, why is she basically in Magitech Controller Unit Form. Even though she then remembered that Louise killed a fellow student like a year ago and was banished for it.
Louise laughed loudly at Angela for finally getting what she was planning with them. She started to use her powers, which the Magitech Controller Unit gives her and starts to take control of the Magitech Behemoth Tank. Specifically, the Command Variant of Magitech Behemoth Tank, which roared to life and started to turn its Trio-Devastator Cannons at Irvin, Angela and Sarah. However, more people walked from one of the blind spots of the factory itself. Louise looked directly at the Assassins from Hermannreich and basically told them they were late. Irvin was shocked to hear that specifically, Hermannreich Assassins in a Magitech Factory of theirs. Angela couldn’t help but ask terrifyingly at what Hermannreich Assassins were doing here.
Louise sighed and looked directly at Angela and Irvin, which told them she wanted the full control of the Darvon Corporation all to herself. Her mother Anna was always overlooked and it felt awful and she felt always had a grudge against the Darvon Family’s Policies. The specific policy was giving males more power within the Corporation when Women should be the only ones to rule the Corporation. However, the Darvon Family’s Idealism is too much for her to deal with anymore she bade her time. It primarily means she would rather see Iliad City control the entire planet under an iron fist than with an idealistic mind set. Idealism means nothing to Hermannreich, since she would rather enslave them than the other way around.
The Tank turned its weapons directly towards the Hermannreich’s Assassins and fired upon them obliterating them. Louise controlled the tank to turn the turret back towards Angela and Irvin specifically. She told Sarah to get over to her side or else, she’ll be killed too. Louise knows how the Darvon Family Council works very well since Angela & Irvin controls the Corporation only their children can give up control. Sarah was still crying but her parents told her to live to finally get rid of this psychopath later in her life. Louise was happy, when Sarah ran towards her she opened fire onto her parents, which couldn’t handle the overwhelming firepower of the Commander Tank. Sarah had to watch her parents being erased from existence by a madwoman who wanted all the power in the world.
Louise looked directly at Sarah and laughed slightly, which had a look of if you don’t do this I will kill your little sister too. Sarah did know that her little sister was visiting friends but they had to go to the Darvon Corporation’s HQ. It only took awhile to completely transfer power from the Darvon Family to the Testa-Carla Family instead, which were Tripartite Director’s Leader. She was dropped off by people still loyal to the Darvon Family to her aunt Justine’s home. This would be the biggest trauma in her life and she couldn’t ever forgive or forget what the most ambitious and greedy woman she has ever met.
Her aunt was a bit shocked to see her niece in tears, however, she was told that the Yukimura Family will protect her little sister Rosella with their lives. It was grateful to hear since Louise did threaten her little sister’s life alike a madwoman. However, she has never told anyone about that day since it is too dreadful for her to remember. She went to the Darvonian Magitech Academy For Magitech Development for about two years. However, she wasn’t getting anywhere and was utterly depressed and didn’t really care about herself even though her cousins were helping her out. It was her time to quit the academy to join Marduk, where her little sister goes.
Her aunt was depressed for her, however, than the announcement happened. There has been rumors abound about the deaths of Sarah & Rosella’s parents. This announcement was no other than Louise at quelling the rumors conference at the Darvon Corporation’s HQ. Louise basically told the world that two years ago the Dual CEOs were killed by the Hermannreich’s Assassins at Magitech Factory #35. The only survivor of the assassination attempt was no other than their daughter Sarah Viola Darvon, which gracefully gave her the Corporation so she can mourn her parent’s deaths. This shocked the entire Iliad City, even though not many people would mourn for political rivals in the ideological paradigm of Iliad. Even though the Darvon Family were the kindest and most generous of families compared to others within the city itself.
Sarah couldn’t help but ask her aunt to turn that shit off. Because she finally decided to tell her aunt the truth about what truly happened. However, something awakened in her, it was like the world was going to be knowing of Sarah’s strength. Her Magitech Full Drive System, which she had in her hands at the time awakened and transformed Sarah into a Magitech Controller Unit right in front of her aunt Justine. It was an utter shock, that Louise the one who’s spouting this nonsense is the one who murdered Angela. However, she wanted to learn spells, which will help her since the Magitech Controller Unit’s spells and weapon is kinda not up to snuff to protect her. It will take her a bloody long time to get her necessary revenge on Louise.
It took her on her 16th Birthday to get accustomed to Marduk Academy For The Mystic Arts, many people kinda looked at her different since she’s a new student. However, she was highly rich but lost her own parents to Hermannreich Assassins, which was definitely not a good thing. If it wasn’t for her aunt’s academy being so quiet and calm, the larger academy of Marduk was a definite thing. She decided to herself she would live on Marduk’s grounds in one of the more richer dormitories since that’s what her younger sister was doing. Her aunt wasn’t sparing any expense to her nieces, even though their cousins were still living with their mother.
However, she has differing ideological differences to the Headmaster of this school, which is a bit of a pain. Its mostly because she wants to keep her family’s idealism intact, which she will want to make friends with whomever will listen to her. She’s a kind woman but gets a bit frustrated when people praise the Tripartite Director Leader Louise specifically. Her cousins did help her regain her smile, however, all she wants is… revenge against the one whom took her parents away from her. However, she hopes there are people in Iliad City that can help her to keep her idealistic beliefs over losing it. It’s mostly she is hopeful there are people who want to understand what the heck is going on their planet. Her age of now is 18 years old, which she's basically living with still hurt and what not.
Sarah isn't stupid, but she will want her revenge on the one whom took her parents away from her, which will she ever get it…?
Mundane Skills: Sarah is a world class dancer, which has a singing voice to match her dancing skills. She can write really beautifully and has an elegant way of writing, which is similar to her mother’s handwriting when she was alive. Her knowledge of the Darvon’s Family history is pretty much first hand knowledge, however it also goes into history of Iliad and much of the surrounding nations as well. She does cook, which is slightly bit better than her aunt’s cooking since her mother and father spared no expense in teaching her everything a CEO would require to know. She has great knowledge on firearms and swords made from Magitech, specifically, which is the fact she is from a family of Magitech Engineers.
Magic: The Magitech Controller Unit form is activated by the Magitech Full Drive System, which Sarah can activate. The Activation of the Magitech Full Drive System changes Sarah’s Appearance and their personality to be Silver Justice the MCU. Noticeable Features that change within the form includes their eyes and hair style. In the case of Sarah’s changes are specifically her figure and stature by becoming taller and looks much more mature. It installs the Matriarch’s Will Coder within their bodies, which it utilizes the activator as a surge of energy to stay in the form. In terms of their eyes’ irises has the Matriarch’s Will Coat of Arms, which is two swords instead of the usual iris shape.
In her Magitech Controller Form, which is called Silver Justice she specifically wields the Stinger ‘Augmented’ Blade that is a Magitech Whip Sword. All Magitech Controller Units can fly, which it specifically uses their willpower to stay in the air while flying. There is a limiter in place to disallow someone to permanently stay in the form, which is activated by the Full Drive System. The activation itself uses 20% of her mana reserves and lasts only two hours in total. The biggest limiting factor is it will drain the mana within her pretty quickly. However, there’s a way to increase the time frame to stay in Magitech Controller Unit form but the risks outweigh the benefits of such. If she does try to increase the time frame from two hours, her human personality will be more alike Silver Justice’s Personality. However, so far she hasn’t tried to increase it so there isn’t no negative side effects to using it only for a total of two hours.
It will usually take the Magitech Full Drive System to recharge about in an hour or longer if Sarah used more of her mana reverses while within the form. The Color of the activation is her favorite color of Silver. She has three specific innate spells, which she can learn more spells but those take time and focus to learn. Additionally, she awakened the Magitech Controller Unit’s power by telling her aunt the truth of what happened to her parents. She in essence, the weight on her shoulders were lifted and felt slightly better, awakening the power in anger is not a good idea. There is still trauma within her since she’s thinking of revenge over forgiveness. There is a limiter on the Silver Justice Spells and the spells, which she learned at Marduk. It means she cannot use the Light spells, which she learned at Marduk in MCU form and vice a versa in her regular human form. These spells cannot be ever used in tandem with each other in either form since it would cause the form to be locked. This form had many limiters placed on it so no one can use it for evil or for their own ends. However, awakening this form in an aggressive, rage filled awakening usually causes the user to kill people they care about.
The Light spells she learned are specifically called the Repentance Spells of Light. It’s specifically what Healing Pulse is, since its a mix of Light & Healing.
I got this inspiration from Hyperdimension Neptunia’s Hard Drive Divinity. However, this transformation is based more around the Matriarch’s Will and not becoming a Goddess. It’s basically mix of Magical Girl Transformations + Hard Drive Divinity but with heavier restrictions than in the game series. Since there’s much more risks involved being in Magitech Controller Unit Form compared to the CPUs in Hyperdimension Neptunia.
Iris Heart is specifically what I chose for Sarah’s form, while in Magitech Controller Unit Form. But the armoring is definitely much more covering than what Iris Heart has. Even though she was definitely altered by the transformation in question. It’s mostly because Iris Heart has a Whip Sword and I like Whip Swords.
Silver Justice’s Innate Spells
Overwritten Programming
Overwritten Programming allows her to control a Magitech Construct to switch sides to help her and her allies. The most limiting factor to this spell it can be only used on a single Magitech Construct at a time. This spell lasts up to 30 minutes in length. However, there are factors that can lessen the time of controlling a Magitech Construct if her concentration is ever diverted in anyway. There is much strain on her mentally and physically via using this spell since it requires her to stay focused on the singular Magitech Construct. If there are multiple Magitech Constructs, which will usually concentrate their efforts in freeing their companion from her control.
Matriarch’s Will
Matriarch’s Will is a specialized buffing spell that is innate within all Magitech Controller Units to use as they see fit. Silver Justice’s version of this spell gives an innate boost to Intelligence & Slight Eye to Hand Coordination by 5%. As long as the people are within the Matriarch’s Will pulsing sky blue to gold aura, which is a radius of 8 meters near her. Her original personality shows through somewhat by giving an idealistic patriotic speech about their country and city. Silver Justice & Her are very much similar to their mother Angela, which are very thoughtful to other people’s feelings. It is able to be used a total of three times throughout the time period of being Silver Justice, the Magitech Controller Unit. As long as she’s glowing her eye color to gold it is being used.
Magitech Upgrade
Magitech Upgrade is a specialized spell, which only affects Magitech Constructs, Magitech Weapons or Magitech Armor. Silver Justice enlarges the size of Magitech Constructs from small to medium size via upgrading them. The Magitech Weapons are increased in their offensive power while also making them much more usable and lighter to be easier to handle if they were too heavy to wield. Magitech Armor is given a great boost in defensive power and endurance to make it harder to be destroyed, which in essence makes it slightly heavier to compensate. If this spell is used it reverts Silver Justice back to her base form of Sarah, which is heavily risky. However, the Magitech Construct, Armor or Weapon, which is upgraded by this spell lasts in its upgraded form for an hour and thirty minutes. The Magitech Construct will specifically want to protect Sarah at all costs so she doesn’t die if she’s targeted, which it’ll sacrifice itself for her.
The Repentance Spells of Light; Learned at Marduk
Healing Pulse
This spell is a pulse of warm healing magic, which emanates specifically from the caster. The magic in question surrounds the caster in a beautiful optical display of radiant colors, which are colors from a rainbow. It’s starting point is from Sarah and it goes out into a 15 meter radius around her, which gently pulses to heal her allies. This spell can only heal outward injuries, which are on the skin, which she hasn’t gotten any training in how to do the more advanced of it. Basically minor cuts and bruises can be healed by this spell.
Solace of Piercing Light
Solace of Piercing Light is a spell, which can only target a single person at a time. This spell does damage akin to a bow or a bullet to a small specific area of a person’s body. It is used usually for disabling a person’s movement by hitting them in areas that would disable their movement by damaging their knees or tendons. This has a binding type lock, which makes the nervous system around the areas hit go a bit out of wack alike you’ve torn or broken that area. However, it only lasts for a total of a minute and thirty seconds. The color of the spell is in the brighter spectrum of colors in the Light Spectrum.
Light Barrier of Protection
Light Barrier of Protection is a spell, which can create a barrier around a person or area, which Sarah targets. In terms, it gives a slight increase in their endurance or makes it harder to move through the area. However, this is similar to the Toughen Endurance spell but with a Light Elemental Magic Twist. The area’s size is a four meter square shaped pattern in front of her. It makes it feel alike you are in a swamp or bog but made up of complete light magic. The spell lasts less time than the usual Toughen Endurance spell but she can only cast it a maximum of two times around three minutes. While the area itself lasts half the time of the barrier on a person. This means you can handle a bit more punishment alike around two hits more from a physical melee weapon.
Weapons:
The Gradius-6 Magitech Battle Rifle
The Gradius-6 Magitech Rifle is a weapon, which was created by the Darvon Corporation’s Research & Weapons Division within it. It is specifically used for long-ranged engagements, but Sarah tinkered with it to be a much more closer ranged weapon. From a sniper rifle to a Battle Rifle, which fires three shots per pulling the trigger.
The Stinger ‘Augmented’ Blade
The Stinger Blade is augmented, which is only used when in Magitech Controller Unit Form. It replaces any and all armaments, which are being used by Sarah in her human form. This weapon is specifically a whip sword, which in turn makes it pretty easily a short to med ranged melee weapon. It has been augmented slightly to pulse with an aura similar to the spell called Matriarch’s Will. In this case, this weapon is specifically used in casting the Matriarch’s Will spell in the Magitech Controller Unit’s Innate Spells.
Personality: Sarah is an example of a Darvon Family member that felt hardship and keeps on trucking. It’s because she’s slightly cautious with how outgoing she is, which is because she’s an extrovert mostly. This is mostly because she follows the family’s will, which is the Matriarch’s Will its been in the family as long as it existed. It makes her very idealistic and causes her to be slightly a bit argumentative with differing beliefs. However, this idealism isn’t much of a weakness since its mostly about patriotism towards Iliad City itself. Her family has always been a forefront of generosity and kindness towards anyone who is hurting. She has slightly different ideological beliefs within her own family, which is mostly after the fact she lost her parents. However, she never felt any superiority towards her younger sister, which she always tried to bring her up to a level to show she’s not inferior in anyway. Angela was too trusting, while her father was the complete opposite since he didn’t trust anyone who wasn’t within the Darvon Family.
In this case, she’s in the direct middle of her parents heavily bias positions. It usually will mean it will take her time to fully trust people not within her family but not make the same mistakes as her parents did. However, she’s a prodigy within her family because of how quickly she became a Magitech Controller Unit. When she was stuck and couldn’t get anywhere in her aunt’s school and a certain bitch announced to the entire city about the deaths. She finally decided to tell her aunt specifically what happened and it felt like a weight on her shoulders was lifted. It was eating her from the inside since she witnessed her parent’s deaths directly in front of her eyes by no other than Louise K. Testa-Carla. She wanted to get her revenge on this woman who took her parents away from her and her little sister. However, she isn’t stupid and knows taking her on would be suicidal. The only reason why she didn’t explode in anger was the fact Louise is the reason one must not explode in anger when undergoing the Magitech Merging Process.
She will never betray the idealistic beliefs of her family, but since Louise started it she will damn make well sure to finish it. Their is one specific thing she doesn’t like doing, which irks her a bit and that’s breaking a nail. It’s the primary reason why she was never trained in hand-to-hand combat, which is beneath her. She is apart of a very democratic family, which allows everyone within it to do their own thing. No one is forced to do something they don’t want, which is why her father taught her how to use Magitech Weaponry specifically. The mask she puts on is for the fact she lost her own parents, which she smiles to show she’s alright. However, the one person that can see right through her mask is her little sister Rosella. Even though deep down she is hurting and had to watch her parent’s deaths in the most brutal way possible. It is only for the unity of her family structure to stay strong.
She decided to transfer to Marduk Academy for The Mystic Arts, after two years within her aunt’s school. There is one family member she has left and that is her little sister Rosella, which she wants to protect the most. In terms of the topics she would rather talk about is not bringing back up how she saw her parents obliterated right in front of her. She would rather talk about subjects she enjoys, which are dancing, singing and talk about Magitech and Magic in general. As well, she loves to cook in general. However, she moved to the richer side of the dorms of Marduk Academy to be closer to her sister. If it wasn’t for her aunt’s family helping her get through all the trauma of losing her parents, she would still be stuck in neutral and basically unable to get anywhere in life. Her aunt basically told her to move into the Dormitories of the Marduk Academy, which is because she would dearly miss her sister more than anything.
As Silver Justice, her personality changes to be a very tough and heavily competitive person whom openly states rude or sarcastic comments with a smirk. She holds a deep heavy grudge against the person whom ruined her family, which is Louise. She usually curses up a storm because that ruined everything she thought would stay a happy family. It doesn’t help that she usually tries to makes jokes at other people’s expense with a slight hint of being a bit mean.
This is the only way she can cope, which in essence makes her feel slightly better. However, she can be thoughtful in trying not harm a person’s feelings, if they had a similar problem in their life. In terms, loss in their family alike a father or mother or both. She feels much more protective towards people whom have similar experiences of losing people. Even though, she cannot replace her feelings of not able to talk her parents. It usually causes her to sigh and be a bit annoyed at the situation. Her form thinks a bit more rapidly and would probably be better off to be with like minded individuals in the School, which share similar beliefs. This is the reason why she tries to be friends the Headmaster’s Son, William Ascot. The Ascots lost much much more than what the Darvon Family. Whenever Silver Justice or herself makes a decision, which she sticks to it even if it feels like she is just trying to cope with her losses.
This feels an even stronger sisterly bond with her little sister since she understands what Rosella is trying to say. It’s very hard to give up the hate within deep within her core to the one whom destroyed their family and took over their Corporation.
Faction: Marduk Academy for The Mystic Arts (The Cassandra Club)
Are you a Descendant of the Illuminated Poet?: Yes.
Additional Information:
The Darvon Family had been a heavily matriarchal structured family, which had a family council. This council only the women within the family had the right to veto the direction of the family or their way of life. There is a permanent leader within the Family Council called the Matriarch but that position has been vacant for generations. The Matriarch was a daughter to the Illuminated Poet but imparted her will into the Darvon Family. It is mostly because of the fact she was the reason for the Darvon Family’s divergence to being more entwined with Magitech then other forms of technology. However, the times has changed when the birth of the twins of Reformation named Angela and Justine. These two idealists wanted to give the opposite gender much more power within the family structure since they had great insight with what is going on within Iliad City.
Basically they caused a reformation within the Darvon Family to cause an equality of outcome over if you were a woman or man. The Matriarch saw this as a good change since they needed to be reinvigorated. But this happened after the founding of the Darvonian Corporation. However, the only good thing about this family is they are very well liked in Iliad City for their outright differing opinions compared to other families. The only thing they will finish is a fight that the other side started, which is definitely a reason for their idealistic beliefs.
The biggest idealistic change is how Angela and Justine differ. Justine doesn’t want to invade their enemies in a pointless war that would cause much more sacrifices than are required. However, protecting their boarders from their enemies with massive defensive walls made out of Magitech. It’s mostly because she spouts a defensive policy over the alternative. While Angela on the other hand, idealistic policies are differing to Justine to a slight point of contention that everyone deserves a second chance. However, Iliad City will be the only city with the highest quality of life on the world. Everyone should flock to the city to live in the best cities and join Iliad City to better yourself.
Basically Angela sees a Utopia within Iliad City rather than wanting a dystopia. However, she treats everyone with respect even if they don’t show it to her. It shows she’s a bit too trusting for her own good, but she is protected by her husband Irvin Kaolin Darvon who can understand the truths are harder for his wife to understand. It is the reason why Angela was given the CEO position to the Darvonian Corporation with her husband Irvin. While Justine and Nathan was given sole ownership of the Subsidiaries of the Darvonian Corporation.
The Darvon Family’s Council holds family meetings, which feels like a government type meeting. It is mostly because the Darvon Family copies Iliad City’s Government to the tee. The Matriarch’s Will and the empty seat for the Matriarch shows that this family only needs to follow what the Illuminated Poet’s Daughter gave them to follow. Anyone whom marries into the Darvon Family will be allowed to see the secret underground council room for the family. The location is secret and cannot be leaked to anyone who would desire to harm the family.
Every single Darvon Family member upholds the Matriarch’s Will within their hearts. It is a very differing opinion of an ideology compared to the other such families in Iliad City. Idealists to the bitter end, which share a strong connection to protect their wonderful city from doing anything too crazy. Sarah V. Darvon is basically the one that is keeping her parents idealistic beliefs alive in the Family Council.
The Reformers of the Darvon Family, which caused them to be classified as the Bright Stars of Change. The Twins were always close, only because of the older one’s death. However, Angela’s daughters still live on. Justine, however was always more cautious and had a great sense of not allowing her guard to go down.
Angela Lina Darvon (Mother/Dead)
Angela was one of the CEOs of the Darvonian Corporation. However, she couldn’t ever see the tragedy coming up in later in her life. It’s mostly because she was far too trusting to people whom she was friends with. She thought the Tripartite Directors were her close friends but her husband told her otherwise. However, only one of the Tripartite Directors stayed an ally to her, which is named Yukimura Kayla. She died on Sarah’s 12th Birthday, which consigned with her 35th birthday. At least her twin sister Justine would protect her children when it came to it.
Irvin Kaolin Darvon (Father/Dead)
Irvin was also the CEO of the Darvonian Corporation with his wife Angela. However, he was correct in his assumptions with the Tripartite Directors going to betray the Darvon Family. It was too much of a shocker in why or how they betrayed them, it caused a definite shock to him. He was supposed to be a protector of his wife and children. The Sacrifice that he pulled saved Sarah from dying but him and his wife would never see their daughter grow up into a CEO of the Darvonian Corporation. He was 34 years old when he died but at least he protected his children from evil.
Rosella Lyn Darvon (Little Sister/Alive – 17 Years Old)
Rosella was 11 years old, when she lost her parents to a terrible thing. However, the Yukimura decided to protect her life instead of giving her to the one who basically hostility took over the Darvonian Corporation. She is able to see her older sister Sarah since they both go to the same School, Marduk Academy for The Mystic Arts. However, Sarah transferred there from the Darvonian Magitech Academy For Magi-Technological Development.
Justine Irn Darvon (Aunt/Alive – 39 Years Old)
Justine was heartbroken when she learned of Angela and Irvin’s death in one of the Magitech Weapon Development Factories. However, what was more heartbreaking was Sarah’s move from her Academy to Marduk Academy. However, the reason was obvious she wanted to keep an eye on her little sister Rosella who’s basically been taken in by the Yukimura’s. She didn’t want to die alike her sister, which would be basically in vein to stop what is happening to the Darvonian Corporation.
The only good thing is, which came out of this whole ordeal was that Sarah Viola Darvon lives with her family. Justine’s family lives much more guarded and secretive lives than Angela and Irvin. It’s mostly because of the fact she would rather die in comfort than dying on the streets by terrorists from Hermannreich. Justine is 39 years old, she doesn’t celebrate her birthday anymore because of the fact that her twin sister is no longer alive.
Nathan Iain Darvon (Uncle/Alive – 37 Years Old)
Nathan has mixed feelings about what happened to Justine’s twin sister and her husband. He was very close friends with Irvin and close to Justine and Angela but helped Irvin to get together with Angela. It was because he felt a bit sad for how easy going Angela was, she never once lifted her finger in hate or tried to harm anyone’s feelings. The reason was how the two were raised, because Angela was supposed to be the Corporation’s CEO while Justine had to be a hard strict defensive Principal for an Academy.
He was definitely happy to see Sarah Viola Darvon living with his family. If it wasn’t for Justine’s compulsion in being a bit paranoid about Hermannreich Terrorists trying to eliminate the Illuminated Poet Descendants. However, the Darvon Family themselves never really saw eye to eye with the philosophies of retreating nor invading. It was a bit messy business, however they will finish a fight if they were invaded but not the other way around. Highly Defensive posturing compared to what the two well known academies are plotting and planning.
Elisabeth Nina Darvon (Cousin/Alive – 14 Years Old)
Elisabeth Nina Darvon is one of Nathan and Justine’s Twin daughters. She was born first compared to her little sister Lyla. Elisabeth goes to the Marduk Academy for the Mystic Arts and wants to heal the world from their awfulness. She tries to keep a smile on her face, when she’s around Sarah Viola Darvon. But she still has her parents while Sarah and her little sister Rosella lost theirs. It hurts the entire family as a whole, the Council Meetings aren’t really that fun compared to what it was.
Elisabeth follows her heart to be different from her paranoid mother, who tries to keep them too safe but the danger of being killed by Terrorists are too real. It doesn’t help that all the Darvon Family are Descendants of the Illuminated Poet.
Lyla Rial Darvon (Cousin/Alive – 14 Years Old)
Lyla Rial Darvon is one of Nathan and Justine’s Twin Daughters. She was born second compared to her older sister Elisabeth. Lyla goes to the Marduk Academy for the Mystic Arts to become a Knight that will protect her mother from harm. One of her greatest inspirations is the Principal of the Academy itself, which is called Professor Gilgamesha.
Lyla is much more sincere in her helping Sarah and Rosella’s problems of not having parents anymore. It shows she’s a bit of a genius compared to people who want to heal or protect the way of life in Iliad City. She feels like the people whom took away Sarah and Rosella’s parents should be brutally murdered for what they wrought. However, they took the Darvonian Corporation from the Darvon Family. It is a great insult and hurts the honor from the Darvon Family.
The Darvonian Corporation was founded on June 6th, 2,820 AIP in Iliad City. The founders was the Darvon Family Council, which decided to start their own Corporation to be only focused on any form of Magitech. The leadership positions and the Board of Directors, which would later be turned into the Tripartite Directors. Where only given to women within Iliad City, however this changed with the Dual CEOs of Angela and Justin. The Tripartite Directors split its four shareholders into an even split between male and female. It’s mostly because the Olen-Victor Family funded their massive Magitech Projects, which caused the start of the Darvonian Magitech Academy For Magi-Technological Development.
The Darvon Family Council constantly vetoed the Tripartite Director’s goals for the Corporation. It’s mostly because three out of the four Directors had differing ideologies to the Darvon Family themselves. This always causes problems but all the forms of Magitech Military Equipment was the only thing that the Family Council and the Directors could agree on. The Directors constantly was annoyed at the loss leaders in the Magitech Academy and Merging Facility not bringing back profits. However, those two were 100% in the control of the Darvon Family themselves and not the Corporation. The Corporation was only funding the two subsidiaries while keeping their primary moneymaker by selling Quality of Life via Magitech Techniques.
The Darvonian Corporation never once got in trouble with the Iliad City, even though the family was primarily against anything that harmed the Quality of Life of Iliad City. However, that all changed when the Dual CEOs of Angela and Justin died by being killed by a Magitech Weapon going amok. The Tripartite Directors took the Corporation completely over by what some people call as a Bloody Hostile Takeover. However, the Leader of the Tripartite Director Louise K. Testa-Carla calls it unfortunate that they died. It was quite hard to allow the transfer of power from the Family to a basically what comes around as a shareholder. However, it felt like the eldest daughter of Angela and Nathan was bullied into giving power to Louise.
Darvonian Magitech Academy For Magi-Technological Development
Darvonian Corporation’s Subsidiary, the Magitech Academy is in conjunction with the Merging Facility. The Magitech Academy is an All Girl Academy, which makes them compatible with Magitech in any feasible non-risky way. It helps individuals whom join the Academy to become a Magitech Controller Unit via using the Magitech Full Drive System. The Merging Facility helps with the Merging process required to become a Magitech Controller Unit, which is in the underbelly of the Academy itself. However, there are risks involved called putting too much strain on the person’s psyche and it alters to fit the form, which the Magitech Controller Unit is. In terms, it even alters the form from the original to the Magitech Controller Unit, which they become taller and their eye color is changed to glow with their favorite color. There has only been one successful Magitech Controller Unit, which had no negative effects of using the Magitech Full Drive System. However, there is been much testing in why there are Magitech Full Drive System malfunctions or miscalculations with the Magitech Controller Unit’s Personality from their original personality.
The Matriarch’s Will from the Darvon Family was implemented into an overall wanting to protect their homeland with the desire to match. However, there was one person, which was expelled from the Academy for being quite literally a danger to the Students within it. Her name is Louise R. Testa-Carla, it was primarily her hatred towards the ideals of the Darvon Family and their council in vetoing the plans of the Tripartite Directors. The personality of her Magitech Controller Unit was psychotic to a point of killing one of her own class mates.
The Magitech Academy’s Principal is Justine Irn Darvon. However, she sees the Marduk Academy for The Mystic Arts and Ishtar School for Creative Minds as wasting their time in trying to invade others or retreating to an alternate dimension. It’s better to defend one’s lands from their enemies, while starving them and/or causing their currencies to crash via hyper inflation. She spouts the Darvon Family’s Idealistic Defensive Policies throughout Iliad City. Always better to finish a fight than start one.
This academy has a statue of the first successful Magitech Controller Unit, which had no negative effects of the Magitech Full Drive System. The plaque on the Statue says her real name and her Magitech Controller Unit name. ’Jessica L. Darvon, the Sunflower Violet Magitech Controller Unit. May the Matriarch’s Will last forever within the Darvon Family.’ She’s holding a Magitech Blade called the Idealism Zeras Blade. It’s mostly because of the fact how people are taught by the Academy to make their own Magitech Weapons within the Academy to use with their Magitech Controller Unit forms.
Darvonian Merging Facility
Darvonian Corporation’s Subsidiary, the Merging Facility is in conjunction with the Magitech Academy. The Merging Facility is where people can go undergo merging with Magitech to evolve their sense of self. There is always dual merging facilities to facilitate the easing oneself into becoming an Magitech Controller Unit. The Magitech Academy has a merging facility in the basement, which is to make full use of the Magitech Full Drive System’s introduction. It’s for people whom wants to protect their family and friends within their life from people who would harm them. This merging facility has only ever made one fully successful Magitech Controller Unit, even with the risks of the Magitech Full Drive System. This person is named Jessica Liana Darvon, which was the one whom inherited the Matriarch’s Will of the Darvon Family. However, there is still risks involving in becoming a Magitech Controller Unit, which is large and varying from the Magical Girl Transformation Formula. This is basically an alternate to the Magical Girl Transformation, which must have a contract with an animal or astral object of some kind to become one.
The Magitech Full Drive System is how one can become a Magitech Controller Unit. This involves light covering your entire body and you are transformed into a Magitech Controller Unit and the color of the light is the person’s favorite color. The Academy is only allowed to be for girls since it had always been that way.
The Merging Facility Head Researcher is Justine’s Husband Nathan Iain Darvon. He doesn’t interact with any of the Magitech Academy Students since it is an All Girl Academy. However, he helps the Merging Facility Staff in the Academy to understand each and every single person’s psyche to help with the aftereffects of the Magitech Full Drive System. There has been a few incidents with the Personality of the Magitech Controller Unit being completely psychotic in comparison.
The Darvonian Retail Stores, Incorporated is a secondary corporation, which focuses on a retail chain of hypermarkets, discount department stores and grocery stores. The Actual name of these stores is called Darvon-Mart, which answers directly to the Darvon Family. The employees within the Darvon-Mart stores are treated much better than other corporations or families in the Business World. The Retail Chain is basically a complementary in selling goods and services at low prices and they will match all prices of competitors to keep their prices low. This is one of the quality of life initiatives of the Matriarch’s Will to increase it.
They don’t fire any of their employees for trying to protect the stores goods or what not. It’s mostly because they dislike theft a bit much over the alternative. There are also Darvon’s Club, which are the warehouses for Darvon-Marts across Iliad City. The Darvon Family sees competition as paramount to innovation so they make sure they don’t try to overtake smaller mom and pop stores in certain select areas of the city. It shows their true kindness and willingness to help these stores out if they require it, without requiring something in return.
The Board of Directors are called the Tripartite Directors, which became in charge of the Darvonian Corporation. It happened after the announcement of the Deaths of Angela Lina Darvon and Justin Irvin Darvon from Louise K. Testa-Carla. She wanted to take the Darvonian Corporation into a different direction from what the Dual CEOs were taking it. It was pretty easy to use her position as a Tripartite Director to become basically the head of the Corporation. However, there was some suspicion in the announcement alike, Louise prepared the speech ahead of time. This gave the reason that the Corporation was taken over via people who didn’t see eye to eye with the Darvon Family.
It was true that the Tripartite Directors didn’t see eye to eye with the Darvon Family. The only member of the Directors that weren’t there was Yukimura Kayla since she was still mourning the death of her little sister Sara. The Yukimura Family saw the idealistic nature of the Darvon Family a bit troubling but they still were best friends nonetheless. The Testa-Carla Family, on the other hand were the complete opposite.
Not much is known of Garrick, however. He came to Iliad City to make a name for himself. It was obvious he was new and enjoyed the freedoms within the city, however it felt a bit odd he was smiling next to Louise at the Announcement. The last person of the Tripartite Directors was no other than Eric S. Fredrick that felt like the odd man out since he joined the Directors because his family put tons of money into funding the projects of the Darvon Family. Eric always saw the Iliad City as a multifaceted soon to be a war zone if the Hermannreich tries to invade. It was much as what he spoke in the announcement that they should keep a firm grasp on everything while trying to protect their boarders from their enemies alike the Hermannreich.
Tripartite Directors
Louise K. Testa-Carla – The Leader of the Tripartite Directors; she became it after Yukimura Kayla went to a funeral. She directs the Darvonian Corporation in a different direction, however. She still has hate for being kicked out of the Darvonian Magitech Academy For Magi-Technological Development.
Yukimura Kayla – Was the leader of the Tripartite Directors. She lost the position after Louise K. Testa-Carla became the new leader. Heartbroken that her little sister was brutally murdered in the Darvonian Magitech Academy For Magi-Technological Development. Protects the youngest daughter of Angela and Justin in her home because she would never try to betray her friends in the Darvon Family.
Eric S. Fredrick – Tried to talk the Darvon Family from keeping on their idealistic path but couldn’t. However, he’s shocked with the deaths of Angela and Justin. He feels like someone had something to do with their deaths.
Garrick N. Olen-Victor – He funded the Darvonian Corporation’s mega projects of protecting Iliad City. However, he was happy when the Dual CEOs died mostly because he has preconceptions of ideologies that are different from his own.
Important Relations:
Mira was given to Sarah on the birthday, which marked her needing an alarm clock. Since she usually sleeps in nonetheless; but that changed when her parents were killed. Mira has a female robotic voice, which has a slight hint of frustration on her owner's problems. The voice in question sounds very familiar to her own mother's voice, which is odd. This drone has no combat capabilities since its usually used for companionship and to get over the loss of Sarah's parents. It has a small Magitech Pistol, called the Savilica-6, which is for protection. However, the compartment that houses the pistol is in the drone's underbelly, which it takes awhile to become a pedestal to release the pistol in question.

Theme Song:
Warning: You might get ear worm if you listen to this song.
Bio: Galan was born into the infamous Moril family. His last name inspires fear among both the criminal and political elements of Iliad. Publicly known as socialites and business figures within the city the Morils have for generations truly made their wealth as assassins and spies. They have been rumored to be the puppeteers of the organization known only as The Blackbird, famous for high profile murders ranging from Political opponents of wealthy politicians, to Criminal heiresses.
The legacy of the Moril Family begins a pair of brothers. Aleksandr and Dmitri. Aleksandr, the older brother, is the patriarch of the Moril family and a public figure within Iliad. He founded a real estate business that quickly exploded into a powerhouse within the city. With his wealth, came love. He married young to a young noblewoman named Patricia Drakvylde and together they built the public face of the family. An image of good faith and philanthropy are what Aleksandr and Patricia want for the Moril clan, and they practice this by funding charitable events and generous donations to needy causes. They have 9 children together, all of which are either alumni or currently attending the Marduk academy like their parents before them.
Dmitri and his brother are fundamentally different in every way, Aleksandr enjoys and thrives in the public eye, Dmitri does not. Dmitri focused on his magic and his skillset. Colder than his brother, Dmitri took it upon himself to protect his brother and his family interests. Eliminating competitors and silencing opponents on behalf of his brother most of the time even without Aleksandrs knowledge, he quietly became known as the Moril family’s Hound. If it were to be speculated which of the two brothers would be the mastermind of The Blackbird it would Dmitri Moril. He married much later than his brother to a woman who died during childbirth, leaving The hound of the Moril family to raise Galan by himself.
Galan like his father, soon found himself operating from the shadows within the Moril family. He was forbidden from playing with his cousins from a young age, his father preferring to train the boy to be hard, punishing him severely for any mistakes in his magical studies, as well as his practical ones. Despite this training Galan found he could barely control the magic his father was drilling him in. His way was imperfect, and would cause Galan a great deal of pain as well as leave a multitude of scars running up and down the length of his arms and chest as well as some of his back. Because of his failures,When he was old enough Dmitri enrolled Galan in the Ishtar School for creative minds. In part this was to further separate him from his cousins in Marduk as well as to further hone his Sons combat prowess and possibly assist the boy master the magic he possesses. Mundane Skills:
Galan is incredibly skilled in combat, his father trained him extensively in a wide array of weapons from knives to swords to firearms, just to name a few. Galan typically spends a lot of his time training at the behest of his father, but on his off time he did find time for hobbies. Galan enjoys and is quite good at the piano, music is an escape from the stresses he deals with daily. Music is also one of the few pursuits his father allows Galan. Beyond being a pianist, Galan privately keeps a deck of cards in his room, during the evenings he would practice card tricks to pass the time and has become adept at handling and shuffling cards, finding it to be an enjoyable hobby as well as a good skill should he ever find himself in a game of cards.
Magic: Galan has poor control over the magic he wields. In the words of his father, there is a cavernous difference between being able to use the magic he taught Galan, and being able to use it well.
Shadow Duplicate.
This type of power in the hands of a mage with extreme skill, would allow for them to draw on the darkness make multiple duplicates of themselves with faces and the ability to interact with the material world to assist in combat or mundane tasks, a particularly skilled mage to keep control of these duplicates without even having them in line of sight, sharing their collective consciousness with them, making this skill a key one in the usage of assassins of The Blackbird organization.
Galan’s mastery of this power is an extremely limited version of it. He can only draw on the darkness to produce one single Duplicate, further he can only bring the duplicate to look like a dark shadow version of his own body type and build, no facial features or marks on the duplicate. He also can’t be too far away from this shadow being, his control over the darkness limiting him to just the same room he is in.
Shadow Walking.
The intended usage of this power is for infiltration and stealth. A skilled mage is able to use the darkness around them to turn into a living shade melding into the darkness and giving their enemies the illusion of them disappearing into thin air, just to reappear behind them, or above them. Gravity and a physical presence become optional to the skilled mage, so long as there is darkness, or even the semblance of a shadow a shadow walker can appear from anywhere, or be passed right through by an enemy, as well as being able to attack from this form.
Galan’s mastery of this power could be considered his weakest of them all. While he can still make himself blend into the darkness around him, he can’t remove his physical presence, if he steps on a floorboard it will squeak, if an enemy happens to get a lucky guess and swing at him, he will be hit. Shadow walking takes a lot of concentration for Galan, so when he’s in it his duplicate if in the field will dissipate. And in order to attack he needs to exit his shadow walk.
Skeletal Manipulation.
This power is a mixture of the healing magics taught primarily at Marduk Academy, mixed with Combat Magic taught at Ishtar. In the hands of a skilled mage, the user could manipulate their own skeleton painlessly. The types of manipulation including being able to use the bones of their fingers as a projectile, or their femur as a sword, the Healing magic regenerating a new bone in its place painlessly and sealing the skin once the weapon is retrieved.
Galan’s mastery of this power could be argued as the best out of all the magic in his Arsenal, and with good reason one mistake could mean his death. He can’t however, seem to get the painless part of this power down, as such whenever he uses the Bone Weaponry it feels like his bones are breaking, and the pain is relentless, and on the exit of his skin he's not be able to fully seal the skin back up, thus causing bleeding and scarring after every usage.
Blood magic.
A skilled Blood mage can manipulate their blood into weapons, make their blood acidic or poisonous, perhaps even affect the blood in someone else.
Galan took to the study of blood magic because of the side effects of his mastery of Skeletal Manipulation, if he was going to bleed every time perhaps he could make use of it. True to form however, his mastery of the blood magic is extremely limited. He can’t affect the blood in others or a foe, just his own. And while he’s skilled enough to make weapons out his blood in a pinch, he isn’t skilled enough to replenish the blood he uses back into his body. The more of his own blood he uses, the less blood his heart has to pump within himself which could lead to his death.
Because of this, Galan tries to only use Blood magic to make his blood poisonous, giving his bone weapons and regular weapons a base, so even if he grazes an enemy it could be a deadly encounter for the person.
Personality:
If one weren’t acquainted with Galan he could be mistaken for being Morose and removed emotionally from his peers. In reality he’s quite the contrary, Galan is quite shy and has trouble communicating with strangers, but he is far from the emotionally checked out person most people clock him as when they first meet. When you’ve become a friend of Galan you quickly find him eager to spend time with you, most of his friends find that he’s quite difficult to shut up. for the majority of his life he has been alone, his father being the only person he was really allowed to partake with outside of schooling, and even then that was only really for training and dinner.
Galan is also tender and kind to those he considers close enough to let into his shell, those who consider him friend find it difficult to believe he’s the offspring and apprentice of an assassin, His demeanor in the presence of those he trusts resemble that of a healer, not a killer.

Are you a Descendant of the Illuminated Poet?: No Important Relations:
Dmitri Moril is a cold and distant figure in Galan’s life. Life for the two of them revolves Galan’s training to join and eventually take control of The Blackbird Organization. Dmitri believes that requires firm discipline and training and little coddling. If Galan is to lead The Blackbirds, he needs to toughen up. Because of these ideas their relationship resembles more of a subordinate and master, than a father and son.
Age: 18 Bio:Dahlia Sangrey was born into the fabulously wealthy and powerful Sangrey Family, descendants of the Illuminated Poet who used their powers to corner a number of markets. The Family's enterprises quickly grew from a couple of drugstores to include most of the manufacturing in Iliad, multiple upscale nightclubs and bars, mines and cattle ranches outside the city and a shipping company to facilitate trade with the rest of the world. With that much industry and wealth in their control it wasn't hard for the Sangreys to end up whispering in the ears of the City-Council for generations and even having favor with a few Mayors. The Family used its valuable position to continue enriching itself, getting a number of business friendly laws and regulations passed and building good-will with the populace by building shelters and creating charities for the poor and sick.
Beneath this facade of goodwill and kindness runs a darker undercurrent. The Family is run by the Patriarch, an ancient and mostly unseen figure who's rumored to be the only surviving child of the Illuminated Poet. Under his guidance the family has developed a personal philosophy that values strength, honor, power and nobility. Depending on which Sangrey you asked (assuming you could even get one to speak about it to you) this philosophy is similar to anything from survival of the fittest to Monarchism to outright Fascism but one thing remains the same: the Sangreys should be at the helm of the city of Illiad. To that end each member does their best to push towards this goal, every generation digging its claws in a little deeper.
Dahlia is just the newest player in the game. The youngest out of eight children (more children mean more future bankers, politicians and celebrities) the newest addition to the Family was given to tutors before she could even properly walk. Her childhood studies went past simple arithmetic and language skills and into the realm of high society, learning to speak multiple languages and studying classic works of literature and art. It wasn't enough for her parents that she simply had an appreciation, she would have to master them as well. When Dahlia was seven she was made to spend ten and twelve hour days practicing, long nights of learning to sing and paint and play the piano and violin. Every failure was met with a curt "Again", the young girl reading sheet music and staring at canvases until her eyes went blurry. At age nine she practiced her magic for the first time and it changed her appearance drastically into horned creature, forever marking her in her own eyes as irrevocably tainted.
And it paid off. Dahlia grew into an intelligent young lady capable of discussing and debating topics as varied as politics, business, the nature of the stars and man, and the benefits and drawbacks of magic and technology. When she turned fifteen she was enrolled in the Ishtar School for Creative Minds to enhance and hone her already naturally formidable magical abilities as part of the final preparations to begin pushing her family's agenda.
Mundane Skills:Dahlia is a world class musician and artist, demonstrating her talents with her piano, voice, violin, brush and pen at concerts and galleries throughout the city. Thanks to her no expense spared private education she can hold her own in any intellectual conversation and dominate quite a few of them. She's also a skilled fencer and kick-boxer and is familiar with firearms, having been trained to temper the brute force of her magic with the proper skill.
Magic: Dahlia's relationship with magic is... complicated. Her blood relation to the Illuminated Poet allows to use her music as a means of casting spells from the Curse, Disease and Bone schools of magic, the types of the magic the Sangrey family has traditionally been most adept with. But a childhood accident while learning her abilties is what her changed her appearance into the blue skinned and yellow eyed demon she is today. On top of that extended usage of her abilities with result in her body withering and skin cracking, blood dripping from her eyes and other painful side effects. So it tends to be a last resort.
Bone Manipulation-Trying this spell when she was unprepared was what kickstarted her drastic appearance change. If used on herself this spell can cause thick bone plating spread from her horns to cover her whole body in armor plating sturdy enough to stop bullets and spells and generate obsidian sharp bone blades and claws.
Curse-Dahlia can mark a target so that they suffer from bad luck and general misfortune. The universe seems to conspire against the victim, making them suffer all manner of mishaps from hazards appearing just in front of them as they walk to spells misfiring to doors being mysteriously jammed shut.
Vectors of Infection- Dahlia summons swarms of plague rats and corpse flies to gnaw their way into someone.
Hex- The most straight forward of Dahlias abilities, this spell much like a gun: Point at the enemy and fire. It’s projectile is a shot of pure arcane energy. Used as part of a one-two combo with either the bone blade or a normal firearm, the idea being that one deals with defenses in place for the other
Cloudburst- Sickly yellowish-green smoke pours from her mouth, filling the room. The effects are similar to tear gas at first, irritating the eyes and throat. Prolonged exposure can lead to internal bleeding, the mucus membranes of the body shedding, temporary blindness, vomiting and eventually death if left unchecked.
Suffering- The spell does no physical damage but causes the victim to suffer from severe pain, randomly affecting them with everything from the feeling of their teeth being pulled out of their head to being burned alive. The effect lasts for as long As Dahlia is able to maintain concentration on the target.
Personality: Dahlia is quiet and thoughtful, mulling over her words and selecting the best one for the occasion. While not thrilled by the idea of conflict she will rarely back down from one out of fear of looking weak, something that she can not tolerate. She's friendly and polite enough but is slow to actually trust, not liking the idea of having to rely on another person. The only topics she'll let herself be truly open about is music and art, gushing about her next project or the amazing landscape sketch she had just bought with money from the well-stocked private bank account courtesy of her parents.
In regards to her family's personal philosophy she's somewhat subdued in enthusiasm, feeling that there's something inherently off about the whole deal but nowhere near brave enough to risk the ire of her family by not pushing ahead as expected. Magic is where she really differs from her relatives. Where most of her relatives relish their mastery over Death, she hates it. Her powers are too destructive to herself and others, the risks too great for a single person to bear. Every time she uses them she's gambling with the lives of her and everyone around her. As such she tries to avoid using all but the simplest of them whenever possible. This forces her to put a premium on physical combat, wielding blades and bullets before magic.
The destructive power of her magic and her abnormal appearance serve to keep Dahlia from putting herself out there unless forced by her family or someone else drags her along. Very few manage to make it happen. Faction (Marduk, Ishtar, or Cassandra):Ishtar Are you a Descendant of the Illuminated Poet?: Yes Important Relations:
Her only real friend and link to sanity, Jericho was given to her when she was child and he was a cub. He is intelligent and communicates with her telepathically.
No matter how many times she edits her appearance some things remain forever nonhuman, but thankfully are easily hidden. Indigo eyes with a cat's vertical pupils are hidden by contacts, her flexible spine and floating collar bone only noticeable if one were to walk in on her squeezing into some tight space. Her ridiculously low heart rate (less than ten beats per minute) and ability to operate in low oxygen environments are essentially invisible under normal circumstances.
Age: She lost track of the exact number long before living memory but she's been kicking around since the creation of the universe.
Bio: Whatever name Lynx had gone by at the beginning of time, however she had carried herself, she had probably already been bored. Springing into existence at the dawn of the universe fully formed and ready to rumble she originally quite liked the powers that had been given to her. But when the novelty wore off it quickly became apparent just how unpleasant of a life she was going to have. The speed at which she processed information meant that the world was in a constant state of slow motion for her, every moment spent waiting an unbearable torment.
Any hobby or pastime would have all the enjoyment sucked out of it within weeks or days, the Custodian quickly dissembling the activity and piecing it back together thousands upon thousands of times. She bounced from job to job, serving as everything from professional chef to starship captain to doctor and leaving after a few years when it became unbearably mundane. She merely existed for millions of years, trapped in constant race for gratification and amusement.
When some of her brethren went rogue it blindingly obvious that it wouldn't go well for them. The majority of Custodians that had stayed loyal had literal God on their side, only an idiot would have taken those odds. But fighting a doomed war followed by bitter defeat sounded more interesting than curbstomping a few rebels so of course she picked the losing side. The war went about as well as expected, she took out a few loyalists before getting booted out with the surviving rebels.
Historia made a decent place for a crash landing. The Custodian found herself among humanity, a race that measured up to hers about as well as ants did to them. But how interesting they were! Fragile and short-lived creatures they still dedicated themselves to climbing mountains and crossing barren deserts, just as willing to create beautiful (by their standards anyway) works of art as they were to form armies and raze each others homes to the ground. Irrational and hot-blooded, driven to prove that their lives had meaning even though the universe would have forgotten about them in a million years or two, they were simultaneously kind of pathetic and sort of inspiring in their stubbornness.
The Custodian was fascinated by them and wanted to get a closer look, so she began to disguise herself as members of their race. She spent time in the guise of queens, knights, artist, beggars, murderers, thieves and every archetype under the sun, poking at society to watch how it squirmed. She helped establish codes of law and then proceeded to break them to get a look at the prisoners suffering in salt mines, commissioned great works of art for museums and then joined barbaric hordes and stole them. She spent time living on the streets, watching the faces of those who'd give her a few coins and those who acted as if she didn't exist.
It was essentially an undercover investigative report. She learned just as much about humans watching them drag Descendants out of their beds as she did seeing them band together to recover from natural disasters. Over the millennia she built up a strangely patronizing affinity for them, regarding them as amusing animals that could do tricks.
Eventually she ended up in Hermannreich in the form of a gunrunner turned revolutionary, working with a cell of freedom fighters that sabotaged military installations and assassinated high value targets until they were wiped out by a surprise raid. The alien made her exit as her comrades were being lined up for summary execution, escaping to Iliad under the guise of a gunslinger and mechanic turned insurgent fleeing political persecution. With her billions of years worth of technological experience both human and otherwise it was easy enough to set up shop as a mechanic and machinists, getting herself a job as the shop teacher at Marduk. She got herself another position as a history instructor, firsthand knowledge of the world's major events coming in handy.
And so Instructor Lynx became a upstanding citizen of Iliad, wiling away the time grading essays and dismantling engine blocks as she waited for the inevitable need to drop everything and run.
Mundane Skills: Quite frankly her skillset is immense to the point of being too long to list. But for the sake of getting into character the Custodian limits herself to whatever her current identity would be good at. In Lynx's case her skill with firearms and melee combat is quite literally superhuman, at a level obtainable only through her natural powers and millennia of practice. She is a talented alchemist and machinist, modifying her gear and crafting different types of ammo for different types of targets, and has a penchant for explosives. Her careers of planning and foiling assassinations and robberies give her a good sense of small-scale tactics, her specialty being ambushes and smash-and-grab type operations. Stealth is a given, the alien just as quiet as her current namesake when she wants to be.
Powers: Supernatural Senses- Like her namesake Lynx relies on her senses to get an edge over her opponents. On a day to day basis her sense of smell is as good as a dog’s, counting individual threads on a person’s shirt from across the room and hearing each breath they take. She’s capable of much more when she focuses but limits this to avoid sensory overload.
The real advantage is her ability to detect magic. If you’re paying attention there’s certain giveaways inherent to arcane energy. A low hum of some great machine, a minuscule hint of copper on the tongue, a faint shimmer in the air.Lynx can pick up on these clues that others miss and follow them, seeing through illusions and trailing mages by traits specific to their spells.
Super-Speed- Good luck getting the draw on her. Lynx can move at about the speed of sound when running and hit Mach 2 if she were to sprint all out. Incredibly fast but also incredibly exhausting. Moving that fast for any longer than a few hours necessitates her to eat about half her weight to fuel the boost in metabolism so she tends to cruise at four hundred or five hundred miles an hour (when she's not forced to crawl along out of discretion.)
Enhanced Endurance- Moving twice as fast as sound requires a tough body. Lyxn is mostly unaffected by extreme speed or temperatures and needs only a few hours of sleep a week. Her stomach is strong enough that she can taste poisons to evaluate their strength, her skin shattering mundane weapons and deflecting some spells. Walls are no trouble, able to be smashed through with no adverse reaction.
Equipment :Krait- One of the first things she made after being so rudely ejected from the One's favor. The glove houses a container for storing all manner of liquids and a nozzle designed to eject it as an aerosol up to 15 feet. Typically loaded with various irritating agents or toxins.
Wife and Mother- A pair of matched revolvers that she took off a dying loyalist in the war in Heaven. Prime examples of Custodian engineering they generate the energy required to fire and are "reloaded" by letting the excess heat drain. The hammers can be fanned for rapid fire but doing so runs the risk of overheating them.
Starstrike- The usage of advanced Custodian materials allow the bow to be as strong as steel while remaining flexible, able to loaded with arrows of varying types. It's most valuable trait is its ability to absorb and charge arrows with starlight, the energy channeled into the tip to punch through armor and unleash a corona of searing light inside them.
Savagry-A tribute given to her during her days as warlord, Savagery is designed to hold under the extreme stresses of her usage, staying solid under forces and temperatures that would reduce a normal dagger to slag.
Plasmids: Not actually part of a bacteria's cytoplasm but the combination of chemicals and computer input that let her change her face. A thoroughly unpleasant process that requires her to isolate for a week as her durable body slowly melts and reforms.
Tools- The selection of wrenches, hammers, drills, plasma cutters, and other tools she uses to fix machines and make bombs and arrowheads as well as the stockpile of materials for doing so. These range from sheets of metal waiting to be cut to old cars dumped out in her back yard and rusty weapons ready to be stripped for parts.
The Essentials- Cigars and her hip flask.
MAGs- An upgraded version of the Krait. Made with components from a crashed Custodian ship the Mobility Assistance Gloves serve a dual purpose. The first is to form a seemingly unbreakable bond with a surface to allow Lynx to make sudden stops while running and hang from buildings.
The second is to gather the kinetic energy produced by her movement and store it to be released as needed. This allows for movement in mid-air as well as adding substantial force to her blows.
Matriarch and Patriarch- Wife and Mother after being spruced up and getting their inner workings tweaked. Heat build up is now less of a problem and a "choke" has been added to allow for different shot patterns: a wide shotgun style spray, the normal shot that splashes against a target and a focused beam to punch through cover.
Personality: "Blessed" with otherworldly speed and the required reaction time to manage it every moment of everyday in Lynx's life is more or less a living hell. Her natural impatience combined with the fact that time appears to move much slower for her than it would anyone else means that she bounces around from distraction to distraction, spending scarcely a few minutes on anyone thing before moving to the next. Her self-restriction of her speed causes her to twitch and fiddle with coins and other small objects, a nervous tic she passes off as shell-shock.
While she understands the difference between right and wrong it doesn't really factor much into her daily life. She does what the current persona she's inhabiting would do whether that's building orphanages and going on one woman crusades to rescue kidnapping victims or earning a reputation as fearsome raider pillages villages for sport. The morality of an act is much less important to her than if its in-character or interesting.
"Lynx" is more or less a good person, an exiled freedom fighter turned mechanic and teacher. She pays her taxes, shows up to work on time and gives students the extra attention they require and always has customer's repaired items returned to them promptly. She has a poker game every Thursday, plays golf on weekends with friends from work or just around the neighborhood and generally presents as a good-natured veteran that is sometimes a bit off.
Faction (Marduk, Ishtar, or Cassandra Club when it's founded): Marduk for the time being, whatever seems interesting after that.
Are you a Descendant of the Illuminated Poet?: No
Important Relations: -Lilith: A pickpocket, beggar and all around street rat Lynx picked up off the street shortly after arriving in Iliad. In return for room and board she serves as Lynx's apprentice and errand-runner, working on orders that come in when her boss is out. -Ereden Helbrien : Four or five centuries ago the Helbriens slighted Lynx in some way she's now forgotten about. Since she was posing as stranger sorceress at the time she cursed the family so that every thirty years they would suffer tragedy, a promise she has been making good on since then because it's mildly funny. Much to her delight a couple of their number brought their family to Iliad in an attempt to escape the curse and now the son is one of her top students.
Ereden is studious, serious and determined so it was no surprise to Lynx that much of his studies were devoted curses and how to break them. She hasn't decided if she'll let him succeed.
-Lieutenant Rin Mistold: An old poker buddy of Lynx's and higher up in the local law enforcement. In return for bringing the beer and snacks to their weekly games Lynx is more or less immune to the noise complaints sometimes generated by her late experimentation.
-Family: She lost track of how many spouses, flings and common law partners she's had over the years and doesn't much care to try and remember. None of them ever knew her true nature and she generally either waited for them to die before cutting ties with the family or simply disappeared from their lives. Her children were simply told their Custodial powers were their form of magic.
In total she's mothered (and fathered depending on her form at the time) hundreds of offspring and would have a truly incredible amount of descendants, not like most if any of them would know who she is.
Nika Pešek was born an ordinary girl, or as ordinary a girl as one might find in Iliad City, where the rhythms of the Epic of Making echo as though it had been sung only minutes before. She found her start in life as the daughter of Pavel Pešek, a stoic, methodical crafter of armour, tools and weapons for the city’s elite – after all, no amount of industrial precision can improve upon the technical mastery, or ability to produce custom orders, of a mage-smith – and Atanasija Pešek, herself daughter of Pavel’s major supplier of raw materials with a finely honed business sense and a wicked sense of humour. Though a match primarily made for commercial reasons, the two found that they were not only a capable team but also emotionally complementary and quickly became a mutually reliant, perhaps some might even say loving, couple. Nika was thus born into a moderately wealthy household with two capable and affectionate parents. Things seemed to be looking up for her.
For the first years, they were. Nika learned to take in information, manipulate it and communicate it quickly, picking up reading and writing earlier than most children and extrapolating concepts that she hadn’t learned elsewhere from her previous knowledge; indeed, one of her earliest memories is Atanasija’s delight (and Pavel’s horror) at her having figured out the basic premise behind foreign exchange trading. As such, when her parents announced that they were having a second child, she took quite a bit of reassuring that she wouldn’t lose out on affection as a result.
In the end, though they did manage to convince her, it wouldn’t matter. For all the magic of the healers at the hospital and the advancements of modern medicine, Atanasija and her son died in childbirth when Nika was six.
Life carried on. Pavel’s work continued, even if he couldn’t negotiate such good prices for his pieces as his wife used to be able to and often found himself waking to a pillow wet with tears. Nika still did relatively well in school, even if her mind, whose keenness let her understand what had happened better than many of her age, became clouded. Forward they marched. That cloud, however brewed lightning. Nika’s grief quickly became determination. Her mother was gone – and thus she had to make up for her loss through effort; so went her child’s reasoning. For all her father saw this and first tried to quell this feigned strength born of pain, then to channel it safely by having her help him in the forge, it only grew more powerful and all-consuming within her as she aged.
Seeing that he had to do something, and also noticing her burgeoning magical ability, Pavel decided that it would be best to send Nika to one of Iliad City’s famous magical academies; there she might be able to find a place for herself, out of her mother’s shadow, he reasoned. Of the two, he decided to send her to Marduk; he had always liked the idea of the place more than Ishtar and, moreover, he felt that the sense of order there might be stabilising. Nika, of course, passed the entrance exam with flying colours and was thus enrolled at the Marduk Academy for the Mystic Arts at the age of twelve.
Unfortunately, two things stood in the way of Marduk being a good place for Nika. Firstly, though Nika’s style of thinking was primarily logical and systematic, like the one that Marduk espoused, that logic was incisive rather than constructive or stabilising. Where Marduk sought to impose rules for its students to follow, Nika tried to prove them flawed or circumvent them as she believed right; where Marduk laid out a system of magic for its students to rely upon, Nika sought to tweak and customise it for her own ends. She quickly became known as a maverick to the staff and a smart-alec to her peers, though she was at worst a bit prickly to those who actually got to know her.
Indeed, as a result of the second factor keeping her from aligning fully with Marduk, she didn’t have much focus left over to hurt anyone or engage in the school’s social landscape. Over the last few years, Nika’s goal had gradually shifted from filling the void that her mother had left in her and her father’s lives herself to simply bringing her mother back. She was a strong mage, after all, and stories abounded in this most storied of cities of strong mages challenging the dictates of fate and the natural order; why could she not do the same? Once she arrived at Marduk, she dived into the academy’s library, searching for ways in which that might be done. Necromancy Nika quickly dismissed; its abilities, she found, tended to be unpredictable, bringing about a facsimile of life as often as real life from beyond death. She would not risk her mother for that; she needed something predictable and consistent. Thus Nika turned to chronomancy; she borrowed some books on the subject, read them cover to cover and began to practice.
Now, chronomancy is a stable magic, bound to some of the simplest rules of the universe, but it is also a highly dangerous one. Nearly every book Nika borrowed was filled with warnings and cautionary tales of mages freezing themselves in time only to be unable to think and thereby loose the spell or people pushed into the wall of a slowed zone and shredded into chunks as individual parts of their body sped up going through to the other side. For this reason, Marduk itself only typically teaches chronomancy as a subject in students’ final years and only then to those who have excelled elsewhere and are of a cautious, considered disposition, for they, in the staff’s opinion, are most able to approach it successfully.
Nika? If it was dangerous for her to use it on people, she reasoned, she’d just do so with objects instead. That’s what she’d been doing for most of her life, after all.
Taking a dozen books on chronomancy out of the school library over the course of a term would have obviously raised some alarm bells with the librarians anyway but the school really took notice when Nika began using her new magic in her practical Elemental Magic classes, hastening the velocity of her projectiles to a degree that became suspicious to her teacher in the subject. Of course, when he asked her, she told him exactly what she was doing; there wasn’t any sense in hiding what wasn’t wrong in her eyes. This gave him sufficient cause to raise it with the remainder of the staff and, before long, Nika found herself embroiled in something that wasn’t quite a disciplinary process, given that this wasn’t against the rules, per se. The school, meanwhile, was left with the problem that Nika had apparently been skilful enough to use chronomancy on her own and would undoubtedly carry on using it, potentially endangering herself and others, but to let her do so publicly might be seen as condoning it generally and cause the rest of the student body to plunge headfirst into the discipline.
The solution that they came up with was to prohibit Nika from using her chronomantic spells in her regular school life until she was able to take chronomancy as a regular class but to assign her private tutoring with the specialist teacher who taught it as a subject, one Doctor Hannah Baumann, up to that point alongside it. Irritated but with little choice in the matter, Nika complied – at school; when she was at home she continued her practice – and started attending the sessions. These became the major reason that she stayed at Marduk. For all that she chafed at the school’s more structuralist tendencies, Dr Baumann, a patient, analytical and empathetic soul, in line with the archetype of most chronomancers, had a disposition that was perfect for focussing Nika’s passion. It was she who, deconstructing Nika’s understanding of chronomancy, tailored their private lessons to expanding that ability to its fullest; she, alongside Nika herself, is responsible for guiding her to alter her frame of reference to move objects in space by moving them backwards and forwards in time. The two have developed a close bond over the years, one that they retained even after Nika joined her class properly a few years later; from the outside looking in, one might even regard her as a mother figure.
Nika would be horrified at this perception. She hasn’t forgotten her original goal, not in the slightest, and, even as darkness begins to suffuse Iliad City, it remains her foremost objective. Now eighteen, only a few months from graduating, she believes that she has all the power and prowess that she needs to return Atanasija Pešek to her life. The long wait, years of lost connection, could be over, if only she can end them.
It’s time to see if she’s up to the task.
- Forge Adept: Nika spent much of her life with her father, watching him ply his trade as well as helping out in various places and, increasingly, moulding the iron herself. Though she was around his forge less and less as she grew up and attended the academy, she’s still a capable mage-smith with the understanding necessary to craft tools and weapons, though, unlike her father, she is less capable of producing high-quality armour.
- Chase-Cutting Mind: Nika rarely takes the difficult path, not because it is difficult but because it tends to be slow. This sometimes means following in others’ footsteps and putting in little effort of her own but, as a dynamic thinker, if she feels that current solutions aren’t superior to what she can come up with herself, she’ll take the latter and damn the consequences. This combination of apparent laziness and maverick puts her somewhat at odds with the traditionalist factions of the Marduk Academy but gets her the results she wants quickly and occasionally in places that others could not.
Chronomancy
- Revert: Nika is capable of moving an object, objects that once were an object or several objects conceptualised either as one or a collection of objects, other than herself, backwards or forwards in time up to the first or last point that she interacted with it/them. She may not do so to other sapient beings unless they are willing or unconscious. Once this process begins, she may not chronomantically influence anything else until she halts it and lets time resume for the objects in question.
- Recall: By changing the frame of reference within with she uses her reversion, Nika can cause something to move backwards or forwards in time spatially relative to other things, effectively allowing her limited control over their spatial position, with all the limitations of her usual reversion. Nika’s signature ability, this allows her to do such things as summon things of importance to her person and perform tricks not dissimilar to those of a telekinetic.
Enhancement/Enchantment
- Magic Infusion: Nika has an excellent grasp of basic enhancement magic to change a material’s properties like weight and strength, as might be expected from a mage-smith’s daughter, and is fairly skilled at transmutation, changing an object’s fundamental nature. She is far more capable in altering inanimate objects in these ways as opposed to living matter; moreover, doing so takes more energy, focus and time the more complex the alteration or larger or more complex the object being altered is.
- Disintegrate: By lowering a material’s ability to resist stress to close to nothing, Nika is able to cause a small object to crumble to a powder, an ability she learned from her father as a necessity for creating alloys. Doing so takes more energy, focus and time the larger or more chemically complex the object is.
- Spell Infusion: Nika is able to place spells into objects, either for one-time use or indefinite reactivation (with more energy, focus and time) by either herself alone or anyone. She can do this with her own spells or, with their help, can infuse objects with the spells of someone else according to her own design. Should the spell have a cost in energy, this is drawn from the original caster of the spell upon the item’s activation.
Elemental Magic
- Temperature Manipulation: Nika has been able to magically heat and cool materials from an early age – taught it by her father, given its crucial role for a mage-smith – and, like her father, is particularly good at raising small and mid-sized objects to very hot temperatures. Naturally, Nika was a little smug at being already adept with this in her early years at Marduk while her classmates were still studying the less advanced pyromantic magics.
- Metal Manipulation: Nika is able to telekinetically move and reshape small amounts of metal with a heightened level of precision, again taught by her father as a vital aspect of mage-smithing. Given that she was taught to do so with heated metal and rarely uses the skill outside the forge, she finds reshaping non-molten metals more difficult than a mage of her ability otherwise would.
- Elemental Generalism: Though she prefers the versatility of channelling and refocussing the magic of others into objects to supplement her own spellcasting ability, Nika did go through the basic Elemental Magic courses at Marduk and is thus able to summon and project small amounts of fire, summon and manipulate small amounts of water, manipulate small amounts of air, manipulate small amounts of rock or earth and summon small amounts of light.
Nika has infused several items with magic and spells and stored them in the basement of her house. By recalling them through time with herself (or her gauntlet) as the frame of reference, she can summon them to her person, use them as she wishes, then return them to storage.
- Receptor Gauntlet: A somewhat crude gauntlet, made largely of steel enchanted for lightness and strength and padded with linen, with four midsized tubes built into the outer structure; each has an lip attached to an end that unscrews from its tube. Internally, a chain connects each finger to a lever within each tube, enabling the activation of non-magical mechanisms. Nika has forged this to act as a framework for use of several of her infused items; by placing them within the tubes, storing them and then moving them backwards through time using the gauntlet as the frame of reference, she can summon them for immediate use without having to worry about accidentally getting them stuck inside an errant limb.
- Blasting Pipes: Steel tubes enchanted for lightness and strength, each containing a unique firing mechanism activated by its internal lever, pre-loaded with a single round/material and rifled where it is useful. After activation, Nika may revert the pipe and round to their original state, ready to fire again.
-Wax Rounds (4): Shoots small arms bullets made of wax; intended to subdue.
- Standard Rounds (4): Shoots regular small arms bullets secretly acquired from her father’s stock; for potential future lethal engagements.
- Fire Siphon (1): Uses an infused water spell to displace a naptha-based fuel through a nozzle. A small flame is generated in front of the nozzle when Nika activates the non-magical trigger, allowing her to use it as a flamethrower; if not, she may simply spray the fuel and ignite it with her fire magic.
- Switch-Sword (1): Takes up the two central tubes for purposes of stability and consists of a thin box of steel, infused for lightness and strength, mounted above them. An infused water spell may generate water to extend what is effectively a shortened estoc blade, infused for lightness and strength and used primarily for stabbing.
- Regenerating Shield (1): This takes up the two central tubes for purposes of stability and is mid-sized, flat and circular. Made of a single sheet of steel, it would likely be too heavy for Nika to use effectively were it not infused for lightness, as well as for strength; it is also infused with a chronomantic spell that slowly reverts damage done to it upon activation by its user.
- Manipulator Arms (4): A simple arm-like construct with a claw at the end, made of steel infused for lightness and strength. Nika uses these to help her work on her various projects, as well as to practice either her fine chronomancy or non-molten metal manipulation.
- Self-Repairing Truncheon: A simple cudgel made of oak infused for strength, infused with a chronomantic spell that automatically reverts damage done to it.
- Chronomagnetic Generator: A fist-sized mechanism that uses a combination of a solenoid, a magnet and infused chronomantic magic to generate electricity at a rate desired by the user. Nika created this as a project for her practical chronomancy class and, though it isn’t especially better than just using a battery, she has kept it for sentimental reasons.
- Blasting Pipes:
- Stun-Strike Wire (1): Launches a wire infused with electromantic magic provided by another mage; used to stun.
- Lifeguard Amulet: An amulet worn on the body. Should its wearer be close to death, the amulet drains the remaining energy from them. After a few minutes, it generates a protective layer of water, lifts them into the air so as to get them clear of obstacles and then reverts them to a few minutes prior to their death. The amulet at this point breaks from the strain, which also alerts the wearer to what has happened.
- Self-Repairing Armour: Armour infused with a chronomantic spell that slowly reverts damage done to it upon activation by its user.
Personality: Nika never quite got over her grief for her mother’s passing; somewhere in her heart it still burns, flaring up every so often to remind her of the absence. This she treats as motivation; for this reason she is a profoundly determined young woman, used to self-sacrifice and putting off immediate pleasures for longer-term goals. She is also perhaps a little conceited and overly trusting in her own capabilities. These factors mean that she has few friends; to those she trusts, however, she is loyal and demands their loyalty in return. Most of all, though, she is quick-minded, never failing to take an option that others would consider ‘easy’ if she believes it wouldn’t be a detriment to herself and then squeezing it dry for every single benefit she possibly can (though Dr Baumann has managed to ease her towards rating long-term gains and forward planning a little more highly) and, in the same vein, cutting through pre-existing thought if she believes that she’s found a better way. She’ll make it work. She always has.
Faction: Marduk by schooling, though her philosophy is far less one of structure for order’s sake than structure (imposed by others or herself) for convenience’s sake.
Bio: Samuel Safford - born June 21st, 3002 AIP - was born son of Isabella Safford and Arthur Safford, and fraternal twin-brother of Lyla Safford.
The Safford family was and is a predominantly working-class one, the twins' father being a professor at Marduk Academy for The Mystic Arts, which both the children now attend, and their mother having been a city politician. Despite their rather busy professions, both parents were very loving to Samuel and Lyla as they grew up, and made enough time between the two of them to afford plenty of quality time with their children. They had a cushioned life growing up - having two loving parents who earned enough income to support the four of them comfortably. Unfortunately, good things rarely last forever.
At the unripe age of twelve, the twins found themselves, along with their father, the victims of theft. The theft of their mother's life. In recent weeks before her death, Isabella Safford had gained significant ground on her political adversaries, surpassing the small gap between them and then creating her own, more substantial one, as she took the lead in the debates. However, some individuals had an inhumane greed for wealth and power - a greed that spurred them to perform sick deeds one could not hope to prepare for. A mere week before the end of the debates an organization known as The Blackbird, as expected by the public, assassinated Isabella in cold blood - in order to push their candidate into the lead. As you might expect, this effected the family tremendously.
As they began to grow older, they saw discernible change in their father. Soon enough, he was exhaustively overprotective of the twins - never wanting to take his eyes off of them. Likely out of a fear that he would lose them, too. However, he was not the only one who changed. The twins changed too. They grew closer, using each other as a mutual crutch. It was all they could do to cope. Not that you could say they'd coped.
For Samuel, it was difficult not to be mad. Really difficult. Difficult not to be mad at himself - mad at politics - mad at so many things. As he reached the latter half of the teen years, one could say that his anger consumed him. But, there was always only one thing that could pierce the all-enveloping, searing storm of fire that was his rage towards circumstance - and that one thing was Lyla.
During these later teen years, in which the twins attended Marduk academy, Lyla was the only spark of peace in his mind. She could calm him, comfort him - make him feel loved. And he would not let something like that be taken from him again. Now, Samuel is savagely protective of his sister, and performs exceedingly well at Marduk Academy - though requiring a bit of a tougher focus on technique than others, as his inherent anger issues tend to cloud his vision. But he takes the training, all in the hopes that he can repel anybody from harming him or his sister ever again. And maybe eventually.. get some sort of revenge.
Magic: Samuel's magic draws heavily from the Marduk Academy Elemental specialization - especially Earth and Light based utilization. He bases his magical learning, for personal reasons, around a crystalline theme - using Earth magic to create crystals and shift the earth, and Light magic as support.
Earth Magic - Samuel has great control over the Earth around him, using its tough exterior to batter his opponents into submission, or to protect himself while he takes that matter on with his bare knuckles. Not only does he utilize the many rocks and minerals of the planet's body, he fixates especially upon crystals. While crystals are more fragile than rocks, they can be much harder, and as such, can deflect more powerful attacks if they possess substantial mass or are backed by something less brittle. He has never stated why he fixates on crystals in his magic style, but his sister suspects it is because of a gift he still has from his mother which holds a crystal within.
Earth Manipulation - Samuel can shift the dirt, rock, and minerals under his very feet, being able to move them at will to almost anywhere within his line of sight. He can wrench a wall of hard stone straight from the ground, extend a jagged pillar from the face of a concrete wall, or even punch straight through a cinder block with no harm to his hand, if he so wished.
Stoneskin - Samuel is able to shift a portion of his body into a variety of minerals(not exclusively stone). He can apply this to a portion roughly the size of his torso - and the changed portion will adopt all properties of the material, as well as gain significant strength, due to his muscles changing and having much greater solidity.
Overwhelming Pressure - This is seemingly the only magic that Samuel has no control over. Often having to tweak the pressures within a object in order to create crystals, manipulating pressure is something he is more than capable of - however, he has only learned to enhance pressure through the usage of the properties of the earth - and can't do so purposely outside of that. However, Samuel's rage is a vicious fuel that can unlock capabilities he may not be able to manipulate himself. When he becomes incoherently enraged, a wide area around him has its general level of pressure enhanced - harming both friend and foe alike. Those effected by this pressure will find themselves lightheaded, quite physically uncomfortable, and feeling a bit less in control of their own locomotion. Staying within the radius, which spans about fifteen feet, for a while longer will find those affected unconscious.
Crystalline Battery - Amongst the mineral mines exclusive to Iliad City lies a special crystal called Magicite. Samuel, upon discovering this crystal in his studies, has taken a particular interest in it - and has come to use it to great effect in his learning at the Academy. He often can sprout these crystals from his skin(painfully) during battle, and use their passive absorption effect to slowly gain the upper hand - using the stored energy to persevere despite fatigue. Additionally, he can expend the stored energy to bring greater might to his other techniques, allowing him control over larger sections of earth or greater quantities of light. The extra magical energy could eventually allow him ease in even more techniques beyond Earth and Light, were he to study some in the future..
Light Magic - Light Elemental magic is the more supportive side of Samuel's style, and is a small but important part of his learning. He chose Light magic due to its relationship with crystals - able of being modified or enhanced by the mineral.
Flashbang - Samuel amasses a ball of light that explodes upon contact, showering everything within line of sight in blindingly sharp light, causing everyone effected to stagger for several moments before being able to recover their vision.
CrystaLight Lenses - Alongside a fine crystal lens, Samuel's Light magic is capable of granting him an array of sight spectrums, the most noteworthy being infrared, and several other functions. Alongside rarely-utilized magnification capabilities, it also provides him protection from his own flashbangs.
Pressure Manipulation Magnetism Manipulation
Personality: Samuel is what one might call...volatile. He generally appears to be a somewhat reserved person - and one could surmise he is so because he generally does not hold much interest in others. Those who do happen to find themselves in his company would probably be right in calling him the grumpy sort. Just a tad bit rough around the edges.
When it comes to matters of interests or hobbies, Samuel holds few. But the few he does hold are profound - those being his Magical studies as well as MMA(Mixed Martial Arts), naturally. While he does enjoy these things to a degree, he doesn't show that in the way other people do - he's more progress oriented. He expresses his interest in a hobby by working at it vigorously, and using his anger to make himself better at it. Which you may imagine, doesn't work for very many hobbies.
Despite his usual demeanor, there is - as aforementioned - a way to break through his shell. That way would be his sister. He has yet to find himself so consumed by anger that she has been unable to reach him, as he's always held a soft sport for Lyla - and even moreso in the past few years.

Are you a Descendant of the Illuminated Poet?: No.
Bio: Zephel doesn't remember his parents, growing up instead with memories of a cozy little orphanage in the countryside. During his youth, he was extremely timid, often shying away from the other children. The only exception to this was his older brother, Notul. Friendly, brave and outgoing, Notul was the polar opposite of his brother in almost every way, and with a number of years on the boy that always seemed to change each time he was asked, he regularly attempted to help Zephel get over his shyness, both through kind words and teaching him how to fight. Zeph never won of course, but his brother would always tell him that if he kept trying, he'd be at least as good, if not better, than him. Of course, he'd always say he was nothing special anyway straight after. No matter what Zephel would do or say, Notul never gave up on him, simply smiling that same, confident grin all the while. The only thing that ever made that smile falter was when Zephel asked what happened to their parents. When this happened, the reaction was always the same.
"They died in a fire."
And with that the conversation would be over.
Of course, Zephel all but worshiped his brother as a hero, a sentiment which was shared by many of the other younger orphans. It was only his refusal to elaborate on the tale of their parents death which caused anything approaching scrutiny. Still, it was relatively minor compared to his adoration, so he was content to accept that the lack of explanation wasn't really a concern. It wasn't until he was thirteen years old that he would discover the truth.
Notul had taken him and a few of the other children to a nearby forest, where he hoped to scrounge together a few mushrooms or something similar to give to the orphanage's matron for their dinner that night. This had been a regular occurrence in the past, so they were sure that it was safe. So imagine their surprise when Notul grabbed a pair of children and leapt away, a blast of some form of magic obliterating the ground where he and the two had been standing. In a panic, Zeph looked into the trees, and vaguely thought he might have seen a pair of silhouettes for just a single second before they disappeared again. More spells followed, joined by a hail of gunshots. Despite the danger, Notul quickly jumped to their defense, and although he had always claimed to be a relatively weak fighter, proceeded to keep up with the pair, expertly dodging or blocking the vast majority of their attacks with his sword, while occasionally coming close enough to make a few attacks of his own. However, even with this show of skill, it was clear that he was beginning to slip up. More and more attacks started getting through, and the wounds started stacking up.
Meanwhile, Zephel felt something... strange... He could identify one of the combination of emotions currently fighting for dominance as fear for his brother, certainly, but there was something else, something equally unpleasant. All he could think was that he wanted his brother to safe, and for the people he was fighting to just... just disappear... Before he even fully understood the feeling drifting through his mind, he pictured the bandits being engulfed by flames. That didn't happen. The tree he had been pressed against was another story. From there, it spread quickly through the canopy, and although they weren't burnt alive, it did force their attackers to leave the safety of the trees.
Right into the path of the now heavily bleeding Notul.
Without hesitation, he drove his sword through the gunman's chest, before quickly withdrawing it and leaping towards the mage. However, they were able to redirect some of the flames that now engulfed the surrounding area towards him, briefly stunning him and giving them the chance to escape. For a moment, Zephel thought he was still going to chase after them, but after a mere moment of staring in the direction they'd fled, he turned back to him and the children and hobbled over, shooting them that same old grin. Zephel tried to offer his support, but Notul said it was fine. All they needed to worry about was finding their way out of the forest, his injuries could wait until after that.
Thankfully, they hadn't made it that far into the forest before the attack, and it was only a few minutes before they saw the surrounding plains beyond the treeline. However, mere moments away from safety, Zephel felt himself get pushed to the ground followed by a loud crash, and rolled over to see his already heavily injured brother pinned beneath a large burning branch. He went to try and help him escape, but was stopped by his brothers shouting. He could only stand there, sobbing as Notul told him not to let this break him, and to use his powers to become a man he could be proud of. And then he was being dragged out of the forest again by the other children, and it took him a moment to register that he was actually fighting against it. Notul was going to die, and he couldn't let that happen. But at the same time, he was desperately doing whatever he could to keep the fire that had risen with his anger from reemerging, and therefore his efforts were barely strong enough to give his companions trouble.
From that day onward, Zephel swore he would never let something like that happen again. It didn't take a genius to connect the circumstances between Notul's death and that of his parents, so he would do whatever it took to learn to control his fire magic. Not only that, but he would use it to help others, just as his brother did. He would become to the whole world what his brother had been to him. A man who Notul and his parents could look down on from the afterlife with pride. A man who would never back down or fall back when others needed him.
Zephel would become a hero.
Mundane Skills: Martial arts, mobility, not giving up, gardening, sewing, sneaking in some sleep when he shouldn't be
Magic: Enhancement: Zephel can use enhancement to reinforce his own body. This allows him to increase the durability of his body immensely, as well as enhance his already impressive strength and speed. Use of this magic is absolutely necessary to the way he fights, otherwise he would likely have been left crippled long ago.
FIRE For Zephel, fire is his go to when it comes to (please god forgive me) firepower. Unfortunately, as it gets further from his body, it becomes significantly harder to control, which has led to many accidents in the past. For this reason, he mainly keeps his flames close to his body, using it in conjunction with enhancement magic to become a monster in close quarters combat. He also uses it to great effect in enhancing his mobility, using small bursts and jets of flame to greatly increase his running speed and propel him off the ground. One day he hopes for this to translate into proper flight, but for now he's content with his jump jets.
Familiar summoning, and promptly melding said familiars with himself temporarily. STRONGER FIRE MAGIC.
Personality: Zephel's flames are fueled by boiling blood, a burning soul, and a promise he will never allow to be broken, all of which demand that as long as he believes the task at hand is the right thing to do, he must put his absolute all into it. No matter the task, regardless of how simple or difficult it may be, he will keep pushing forwards. To take a step back is to give up, and to give up is to subject another to whatever he failed at. As someone who wants to become a hero who can protect the weak, he can never let that happen. After all, if he lets himself back down from something small, who's to say he won't get pushed back when it's most important? He is also extremely confident, if only because he needs to convince himself that he can do whatever he needs to to succeed.
Of course, that's not to say he doesn't have his own private moments of introspection, silent and alone so no one can see how he waivers, or how the pressure he places upon himself to succeed truly weighs upon him. In public, he will always grin and bear it, no matter how afraid he may be, but he fears he may never truly banish the remnants of the easily frightened boy he once was.
Even if he can’t though, he won’t let it stop him from being there whenever he’s needed. If you ever need someone to talk to, he'll find a nice spot to sit and listen to whatever you have to say. If your or anyone else's lives are in danger, he won't let himself surrender even if it means risking his own. And if you ever think you aren't worth it, ever think you'd rather just let yourself die than drag everyone else down with you, he'll be there to tell you just how much of an idiot you're being.

Are you a Descendant of the Illuminated Poet?: Nah
Bio: Rialto ‘Alto’ Ganze was born in the nation of Edelweiss, now-conquered by the Hermannreich. He remembered a happy life there, with his father, a wandering inventor who had settled down to enjoy his extended lifespan, which he claimed was due to powerful but rare magic (it wasn’t, he was a son of Lynx). His mother, meanwhile, used the extra time made by her husband’s labor-saving devices to devote herself to running the local militia, which Alto also joined in time. Then, war came, and the Edelweiss armies were routed in the first crucial engagements, leaving mostly militia forces behind - It was then that Alto discovered his one Meta-Power, a power that wasn’t Magic and was more limited than Magic, but was strong anyway.
He had the power to slow down his subjective time so that he can calculate hits and plan new strategies and tactics more. This allowed him and his mother’s militia to hold back the invading Hermannreich forces long enough for much of the population to flee to Iliad City to the east, before tragedy struck - His mother was killed by a Hermannreich sniper, and he himself was captured, along with many of his militia folk. The Hermannreich was built on slavery and the latter was the most common punishment for resistance, and Alto had resisted longer than other folk.
And so he was sold and bought, but despite ending up as a possession, nothing happened. He couldn’t understand it, but nothing happened.
In time, it emerged that he had been bought by a secret Iliad sympathizer who disagreed with the militaristic and self-destructive course his nation was taking. This person treated him kindly, making him realize that the Hermannreich weren’t all that bad, and then arranged for his ‘escape’ to Iliad, where in his late 20s’, he learned from both Marduk and Ishtar, back when the two schools were in harmony. He developed an interest in cosmology, and developed the Heretical-but-Permissible theory that The One was only omnipotent in his own Universe, and had limited power in others. Not just that, but other ‘Gods’ might also exist in other worlds.
Skip to the present day, and Alto wants to test out that theory, and so has sided with Nergal...
Mundane Skills: Melee and Ranged Combat, History, Military Tactics and Strategy, and Magical Theory and Metaphysics/Cosmology. Oh, and Math.
Magic:
Metahuman Power: Laurel of Victory - Being one-third Custodian, Alto has a power that isn’t Magic, or if it is, is more specialized. This power allows Alto to learn at a hyper-accelerated rate (able to learn new fighting styles in a matter of months and entire disciplines of academics in a year) and store huge amounts of memory.
Magic Spell: Chosen Hero - Enhancement Magic which increases Alto’s strength, speed, and stamina by a factor of 5, but at a cost to his magical energies.
Magic Spell: Power over Light - Basically, Alto can conjure up light, whether to illuminate a place, create lasers, or serve as ‘Hard’ Light which can shield him from harm.
Personality: Alto does not share Gilgamesha’s imperialistic views, and is a genuine believer in Professor Nergal’s ideal of taking Iliad City to another world, even if it is a world without Magic. He desperately wants to see what other worlds, especially with multiple Gods, are like, although he still prefers the monotheistic model. He also wants to see if Omnipotence is truly ‘Omnipotence’ and if Omnipotent beings can truly restrict themselves.
Faction (Marduk, Ishtar, or Cassandra Club when it's founded): Ishtar.
As depicted. Her natural height is 5'9", though her standing height varies depending on heel sizes. (The high heeled boots of her magician costume grant her an extra three inches, while the hat further disguises her actual height)
Age: 17
Bio: Vell was found performing simple magic shows on the street for money when she was seven by the Hebel family. Being a very compassionate couple, they took her in and adopted her. How she came to be on the street where she was found is unknown, and if she does remember, she is not the sort to divulge that information.
She never stopped learning stage magic, though, even in her new home. The flare and mystery of it drawing her in to accumulate every new skill and trick of the trade that she could find, until that tendency to put on a show had become such a part of who she was that it reflected in her everyday life through how she would toy with people to get a rise out of them.
And in her career choice.
In addition to stage magic, Vell was always naturally talented at real magic. Oddly -or perhaps appropriately- moreso in the sorts that are more useful for stealth than for show, although she does tend to make a show of those as well when given the chance. Nevertheless, it was this talent which landed her the opportunity to get into Ishtar.
Mundane Skills: Hand-to-Hand Combat, Knife Combat, Knife Throwing, Acrobatics, Stage Magic, Sleight of hand, Stealth, Thievery, Lock-picking, Deception, Disguise, Misdirection, Psychology, Intimidation, Appraisal... generally just things that are needed for sneaking, stealing, assassination, and freaking people out (mainly for fun). She is also pretty good at singing, and at putting on a show.
Magic: Vell specializes in Tactile Displacement magic, with a particular focus in guerrilla combat and prestidigitation applications. One could alternatively cite her specialty as being in short-range teleportation and mirror magics.
Spells:
Vanishing Act - A short-range teleportation skill. She can teleport anywhere that she can see or knows well enough within 100ft. It is possible to teleport to unknown places within range, but that would greatly risk winding up somewhere deadly.
Misdirection - As well as being able to teleport herself, Vell can teleport objects and entities that she touches with the same range restrictions, even being able to send them on without her. This is most often used for conveniently relocating objects such as cards, knives, and acquired goods.
Smoke Screen - A simple spell used to create a puff of smoke for use in covering or distracting from a quick exit, or otherwise as a means of obscuring vision in a given area. This is the only spell that she currently has in her repertoire which does not require touch in order to work.
Through the Looking Glass - The ability to travel through mirrors. When she touches a mirror of a size reasonable for her to fit through, Vell is able to move in and out of the world reflected therein. Once inside, she can use her teleporting ability to travel to any mirror of any size within the same range of 100ft, provided of course that she already knows their location.
Catoptrap - A target can be pushed or pulled into a mirror that she is touching, provided that she is also in contact with said target. The target will be unable to escape until ten minutes have passed, unless she decides to release them herself beforehand.
Caputo Effect - Upon touching a mirror, she may opt to go into a trance which allows her to locate any mirror anywhere and replace a person's reflection in order to speak to them. Others may also call her to a mirror by saying her name three times (yes, that is how she arranged it) in front of it, as the spell is received by her personal compact mirror. She must focus in order to locate previously unknown mirrors, but no focus is required to answer calls.
Personality: Vell is a mysterious sort, though not due to brooding nature or quiet maturity. Rather, she simply likes to keep people guessing, and when she does answer personal questions it can be difficult to tell whether she is being earnest or simply joking. She comes off as quite the sadistic bad-girl, being exceptionally devious and prone to deliberately scaring people just for a laugh. In addition, she is exceptionally cunning and good at reading people. All the better to find out what would best give them chills, after all. Overall, anyone would say that she is a villain.
“Be gracious! You're standing in the presence of a living legend!”
Name
Odysseus Felicia Malafarina II Generally known as “Odd” and “Seus” due to her father and her sharing the same name.
Appearance
Odd is a relatively short girl. Standing at 5’2” with silver-blue hair and deep sapphires for eyes, she gives off the impression of a cold yet mischievous young woman. In contrast, she often acts far louder and bolder than that impression appears. Her skin is light, although not pale and her fashion is often practical while giving off the air of a noblewoman.
Age
18
Bio
Descended from the famous Malafarina Dynasty, Odysseus shares the name of her legendary father. A father whom has been missing since she was ten years old.
In her father’s absence, Mene, his younger and equally as acclaimed sister took it upon herself to raise Odysseus. The reason for which Mene took precedence over her own mother was largely due to the strange illness that had left her mother ill long before her father gave her one last final goodbye. Already acclimated to a life of luxury and wealth, Odd’s ego was only inflated further when she was oft compared to her father and given every opportunity to be reminded that she was great. While she felt saddened by her father’s disappearance and her mother’s unending sickness, Odd took it upon herself to be the son her father always wanted so that when he returned he would never leave her side again. Her competitive nature fueled by the childish thought that if her father, wherever he was, heard that Odysseus was the greatest mage in all of Iliad City them maybe, just maybe, he would come back.
So began Odd’s journey to become worthy of the name Odysseus Malafarina and to become the greatest mage that ever lived. Though while her aunt gave her all of the wealth and resources possible to be good enough for the finest schools and teachers, there was no question that Mene had no actual love for Odd. In fact, despite being her only living relative, Mene had contempt for the child she had been forced to raise while her sister-in-law’s continued existence on life support drained her bank account.
Odd would get an education befitting of a Malafarina, but she would get parenting like an egotistical parasite deserved. Odd received harsh treatment derived from contemptuous nicknames, remarks, and ultimately even suggestions that her father left because she was born and that he was happy with a new family far away from the sights of Iliad City. While Odd cried into her pillow at night and screamed at the walls, coupled with the cold dinners and hostile living environment, she swore to persevere. She swore to never believe anything anyone said. She would never believe people’s lies. Trust was a mage’s worst weakness and she would never trust someone again. After all, if her own blood said she was a parasite, deadbeat, and failure then what would someone who didn’t really think?
It was a hard question to ask herself.
The years would pass from her less than idyllic childhood. As she focused hard on being great, things in the estate changed from time-to-time. By the time she stepped foot in Marduk Academy she had become a fully-formed person and was more than happy to live in dormitories over lavish estate bedrooms. Friendships were tough given Odd’s eccentric personality and trust issues, but prior to the school Odd didn’t know what friends were. The people her aunt called friends she constantly used for pawns in political schemes, so that’s what Odd figured friends were for. She didn’t understand them, less alone herself. She just wanted to see her father again. She would do anything it took to make that dream a reality.
And so we are here, several years later. Where do things go from here?
Mundane Skills
Despite her impulsive and seemingly foolish nature, Odysseus is rather well-educated. She is quite fond of classical violin, melodic singing, sailing, and the martial arts. Her father taught her many things she’s fond of prior to his disappearance, though the most important of these interests would have to be classical fencing.
Magic
Odysseus is the polar opposite of her father on the elemental axis. Literally.
Whereas the elder Odysseus is a bastion of fire, air, and light, his “infamous” daughter wields earth, water, and air. The materialization of this form of elemental magic results in many effects and for Odd particularly she has found a favorite conceptualization in ice and crystallized earth as part of her magical identity.
She can freeze or crack the ground she is standing on, control the inherent temperature of her body, create threads of freezing or sub-freezing water, and use the air around her to propel her into battle. Iconically speaking, she often forms ice crystals as a form of long distance attacks. This unfortunately is limited due to her shorter stamina and physical endurance. Odd has been unable to really grasp healing magic and enhancement magic types to use them effectively in battle, so she has to rely on her innate magical energy and stamina. At times she can be considered a glass cannon due to this, but she isn’t a one-hitter-quitter given she knows how to conserve her magical power in the best way possible for her way of magical performance. Perhaps within the right climate she could grow to be a great mage, but at this time she's got a lot to go to reach her ceiling.
Appearance: Lizzie has thick brown hair, that stops at around her midriff. She more often than not has her signature winged eyeliner on and has usually got some sort of flower in her hair or on whatever she is wearing. Her eyes are blue grey around the outside with a green and orange burst around her pupil. They are big and warming.
The main quality that makes her stick out is her wings that are similar to that of an angel. They are feathered and white, often with daisy’s or flowers interwoven into them.
Age: 18
Bio: Elizabeth was born into a working class family in Iliad city to parents Norman and Charlotte. The two had met at a bar some 9 months ago and the rest is history... except Norman was only here for the child. He didn’t love Charlotte but she didn’t know that. The two parents possessed little to no magic traits, her mother able to boil liquids on sight and her father able to change the colour of his eyes.
Life in the Florence house wasn’t all that bad for a while, with Charlotte staying at home and Norman working to raise money for his darling daughter. Florence began reading at a young age and became enthralled in stories and magic. At 5 she began to show magical signs, sprouting a small rose from the palm of her hand whilst in school. She was a clever child, often dumbfounding her parents with the things she would come out with. As she grew her flower magic blossomed into a very beautiful ability, becoming one with nature, listening to plants and sprouting them up from wherever she pleased. However it didn’t take long for her to realise that something wasn’t quite right with her father. She was around 8 when she started noticing him becoming slightly... distant?
On a warm summers day a few weeks after Elizabeth’s 13th birthday her dad kissed her goodbye and left for his Saturday shift. His work was lacking in employees so he had been given a weekend slot a few years ago. As he left the house, Elizabeth had put her shoes on. The flowers had spoken. They had seen him walking somewhere that wasn’t work. She followed him for a long while until he reached a house and was greeted at the door by a woman... and a child. Elizabeth knew instantly, and shouted to her father. He wasn’t angry at her, his face just cracked, tears brimming in his eyes. The one thing in his life that he cared about most... even more than his new child, his real partner... was going to want nothing to do with him... and that was true.
Elizabeth wouldn’t speak to him. Or her mother. She sat in her room, reading for hours and hours on end, her magic becoming more and more sad, the flowers around the house dying, only crows now roosting on the roof. As the days passed, her mothers mental state declined rapidly, unfortunately leading to her demise. Foxgloves. She used foxgloves to poison her coffee. Lizzie found her in her favourite chair. Her nosiness... the foxgloves SHE grew... had killed her own mother. It was at this time that she vowed to never cause upset to anyone if she could help it. It was also the time her wings came.
Living alone was difficult for a 13 year old, and Elizabeth was beginning to mature, unsure of how to deal with puberty and the mix of emotions she felt. She had buried her mother in the garden. Bottled it up inside her... hidden from anyone. Just as things were getting worse, she broke out with awful back ache, often spending all day in bed with pain. This changed though when she realised why... she had read extensively into contacting your guardian angel, how to summon it and understand what it was. It was a final lonely cry for help in a sense... but this was it... she was becoming her own guardian angel.
Her wings were small initially but after a couple of years they were fully fledged and beautiful... though she would always see them as a burden. She rarely left the house, usually grew her own food and taught herself. It was only when she became 18 that she thought it was time to move on... join Marduk academy like she had always dreamt of as a kid...
Mundane Skills: As well as being invested in magic and reading, Elizabeth is a rather skilled seamstress, creating all of her clothes and dresses, a skill she was taught by her mother. This is more necessary now also due to her wings. Fashion is her main passion other than magic and she always does winged eyeliner around her beautiful green and orange eyes. Her solitude has also helped her grow into a great cook, who is also very resourceful with what she has to access.
Magic:
Flora growth: Once coming into contact with a plant, Elizabeth can grow it wherever she pleases and can make them sprout from the ground or from her hands etc. The larger the plant the more energy it takes from her. This can be used for ALL sorts of situations. For example if she were to be chased she could grow vines around the feet of the attacker and trip them up.
Flora communication: Although not fully sentient, plants hold whispers from the past; little snippets of what they’ve just seen, a sort of camera to life if you like. Elizabeth can listen and see what information the plant holds... good or bad.
Wings: Her white wings sprout from her back about halfway down. They have a wingspan of 10ft when fully extended out and are around 4’8ft in length, just shy of a foot off Elizabeth’s full height.
Personality:
A smiling and loving girl, Elizabeth is as close to an angel as you can get... if you can actually crack her that is. Being confined for years doesn’t bode well for social skills of which she has lost over the years. She was once the centre of attention so school will perhaps come as a shock to her... but hopefully break her from her shell. She buries her problems so if she opens up to you... it means she likes you. She will never pry and she will often become frustrated as she always tries to please... however don’t take this as an opportunity to walk all over her... she will stand her ground where necessary.

”I’m trying to keep my sister from doing anything stupid… R-Revenge isn’t the answer Sarah.”
Name: Rosella Lyn Darvon
Nickname: Rose or Rosie
Appearance: Rosella has her hair much shorter, keeps it well kept and tries not to allow it to get unnaturally long alike her sister. It’s mostly because her hair is on the thinner side alike her mother’s hair, which has to be kept shorter so it can keep its shine and beauty. One of the most important things for her to keep up to date most of the time. There’s a spark in her deep blue eyes, which show wanting to forgive and forget all the trauma her family has been put through. It also shows that she wants her older sister to drop the so called revenge streak she’s going to. Her body language gets highly nervous when her sister does something out of her character, which is basically being heavily frustrated and angry.
The body language speaks loudly that she wants to keep her sister alive no matter what and all her reckless behavior isn’t something she’s enjoying. She loves the two hair bands on her hair. Being a bit petite, which is saying something compared to her sister anyways. She has a different type of chip on her shoulder, which she wants to see her sister truly smile without trying to bring up the past. However, she’ll protect her no matter what since they are sisters and the last of Angela’s side of the family. She wears a small necklace, which signifies the Will of the Matriarch. It has a secret compartment, which has her and her sister Sarah within it. Sarah’s smile is hidden in this necklace, which Rosella wants to see truly and sincerely alike she smiled when their parents were alive. All she sees is a cover up smile, which helps her immensely but it still isn't the same.

Age: 17
Birthdate: April 6th, 3003 AIP
Bio:
Rosella was born on April 6th, 3003 AIP, which was another momentous occasion for the Darvon Family. It was a year and a month after Sarah’s birth, which was definitely a great day to live. Rosella’s responsibility was going to be much less, which she can pursue whatever she wanted. However, the one thing that wasn’t going to be lessen was the idealistic nature of the entire family, which was imparted by the Will of the Matriarch all those years ago. She was basically taught the family’s history alike her older sister, which enjoyed the finer things in life. The other thing, which she was taught specifically was other languages that are within the Iliad City.
Rosella was dead set on learning Magitech Engineering, which was highly important to repair said equipment that requires a Magitech Engineer. As well, as a Writer, Painter and Singer, even though the latter one was a suggestion by her mother and older sister. The only good thing is she doesn’t have to deal with the Magitech Controller Unit and its Merging Processes, since the older sister is usually picked for it. It was primarily because of the fact it was she didn’t feel that safe in being experimented onto becoming a MCU, it somewhat sacred her. This basically means she cannot even partake in the merging process, because of her fears specifically. It seems like no one has ever had any fears about specifically being put into a very tight spot and feeling a bit paranoid.
It caused her to have a slight inferiority complex because Sarah was perfect for the merging process to become a MCU. In the back of her mind, which this was going to be held over herself since no one in her family would fault her for being scared. It is the reason why Angela wasn’t a Magitech Controller Unit, which it takes people alike Jessica to become the embodiment of a pure MCU. She didn’t really like all the attention she was getting by all the other high society people, which caused her to get some massive anxiety. However, she tried to grin and bear the anxiety since it was found out very early she’s an introvert. While Sarah was an extrovert since she could handle all the pressures of high society, working towards becoming a CEO and everything else.
Rosella’s tutors were quite good with teaching her in certain other things, which can help her overcome her anxiety. However, the one thing she enjoys was tinkering with Magitech to create weapons, which was more her pace. When she turned 7 years old, she was being taught by no other than her father Irvin with the Long-Ranged Magitech Rifle Gradius-6. She was definitely happier with the Magitech Rifle over talking to people. However, it showed she’s a much better shot than her older sister Sarah, which is a bit amazing to be honest. Additionally, she was alike her sister and mother, which didn’t want to fight hand-to-hand since that’s how the women were raised in the Darvon Family. She usually wears protective gloves so she doesn’t harm her hands when fiddling with Magitech Equipment.
Her tutors were a bit happy to know that their tutelage in terms of Sarah & Rosella had their own strengths and weaknesses. However, one thing that was the case they were both highly intelligent young girls for their ages. If it wasn’t for this she would’ve probably lost her way even more, however, when it came to it. She was excited when she was given a Magitech Scorpion Drone, one of the smallish variants by the name of Irina. It was similarly sized to the Tick Drone, which her sister got at the same time. There was one specific thing that melted her anxiety, which was her older sister’s smile and the fact she was always much more courageous.
Rosella was visiting the Yukimura’s Home, on her older sister’s birthday. It was only because she wanted to play with her friend, which is Yukimura Kayla’s daughter. However, she wanted to join the Marduk Academy for The Mystic Arts. It would help her to create something that would help and support her older sister in her duties. However, than Yukimura Kayla walked into the room where her daughter and Rosella was playing, which was her daughter’s room. Yukimura Kayla was mourning her little sister’s death at the hands of Louise. She announced to Rosella that her lovely parents, which were the Dual CEOs of the Darvonian Corporation were dead. However, the only good news to this tragedy was Sarah Viola Darvon was still alive but she personally witnessed their parent’s deaths.
Rosella was put to tears by the announcement, which she didn’t believe anyone would kill her parents of all things. It was even more harsh to hear that Sarah witnessed the deaths of their parents. Sarah’s smile means everything to Rosella, which it would probably never be the same. However, what Ms. Yukimura said basically told her that Louise will never lay a hand onto Rosella. It’s mostly because Louise would have probably killed Rosella with her parents. Additionally, this news also terrified her some, which was a bit of a hard pill to swallow all the same. At least the old Director’s Head was still friendly towards the Darvon Family. In terms of that, people who are loyal to the Dual CEOs and the Yukimura’s will deliver Sarah to her aunt’s home. Because Justine’s house is insanely much more protected than any home within Iliad City, which makes it feel like a fortress.
It was the only silver lining to this entire day of what it felt like being ruined, which didn’t help Rosella’s mood. Rosella went to bed without dinner since she wasn’t hungry from all the bad news. Even though Dinner was her favorite food that day, which it felt like a bad thing to waste. It took her awhile to recover from the terrible news, which she started talking with the Yukimura’s again. This was the largest blow to the Darvon Family since ever. It caused Rosella to think of revenge, but than remembered the tenants of the Matriarch’s Will, which is to forgive and forget one’s transgressions. Even if those transgressions were evil, cruel and unjust to the point of being called mad. It’s one of the things her mother definitely taught her, which she hoped her sister won’t want to get what she thought about.
Rosella wanted to talk to her aunt pretty badly but she knows how paranoid Justine is. It is primarily why, you cannot really contact her normally since the number is unlisted. However, Rosella did have her unlisted number, which only the Darvon Family knows it exactly. She could always call the Darvonian Magitech Academy for Magi-Technological Development since that’s where her aunt works at. However, she couldn’t bring herself up to calling her aunt since Justine would probably ask why she was calling.
Rosella finally got up enough courage to call her aunt via the unlisted number, which took about the two days after the tragedy struck. Justine answered the phone, which took her off guard since she heard her other niece’s voice. However, it was grateful to hear from the Yukimura’s home, which is the reason why she told Sarah that the Yukimura’s would protect Rosella. They talked for awhile, which was something of a hard sell to keep Justine from prying too much from her. Rosella did learn at how badly her sister is doing, which made her cry a bit. It hurt her much to hear that, at least the only good news is that her older sister would still be going to her aunt’s school for at least 2 years. Since she was much more suited to that.
Two years later, she was sitting in the front room of the Yukimura’s home trying to watch TV. However, there was a specific announcement specifically bringing to light something that Rosella knew because of the Yukimura’s work in that subject. Louise announced the deaths of the Dual CEOs two years ago by Hermannreich’s Assassins at Magitech Factory #35. The only survivor to that assassination attempt was no other than her older sister Sarah. However, the last part of Louise’s announcement made her curse slightly, which definitely felt like that’s the real reason why Sarah was kept alive. It didn’t help that the older sister in the Darvon Family for the Corporation is given rights to hand over the Corporation to other people. This specifically made the Yukimura’s announcement to her even more terrified since that would mean she would be brutally murdered by Louise. Additionally, the announcement had that the Darvonian Corporation will support any and all attempts to conquer the world by any means.
Rosella herself turned off the TV since she had the remote control near her, and all she could do was roll her eyes. Slightly cursed Louise’s name for being a greedy bitch but wanted to still forgive her and what not. There was only one specific good thing, it was her time to go to the Marduk Academy, which was because she was 13 years old. That did help her mood a bit since she would have a feeling her sister will go there too. It would take her much time to make her sister forget and forgive Louise for what she has done, since she wants her sister to live. She doesn’t want to be left alone in the world without her smiling sister, her sister’s smiles are always brings her up. If it wasn’t for her mother, father and sister she wouldn’t be wanting to join an ideologically different school. It’s mostly because the Headmistress of Marduk is definitely a thing in her ideology.
Rosella took on her 15th Birthday to get accustomed to Marduk Academy For The Mystic Arts, which many people kinda didn’t really enjoy her outright idealistic nature. It was definitely a turn off since it was opposite of what the Headmistress’ had in terms of wanting to control the world. However, she had something that most people didn’t have a rich family ties even though she lost her parents to a megalomaniac. Even though this megalomaniac blamed Assassins for her parent’s deaths. Her auntie Justine & the Yukimura Family supported her decision to live at the richer dormitories since that would probably better to be at than the alternative. It’s only because her older sister would probably be living there as well. The only thing that was grateful the expenses were all paid for by Justine’s massive wallet even though the family’s inheritance usually goes to the daughters whom lost their parents.
Basically meaning Sarah and her were able to afford whatever their hearts desire. She tries to constantly get her older sister to stop wanting petty revenge on Louise. Her family’s idealism is showing true with the specific Matriarch’s Will Necklace that she wears around her neck. She wants to make friends alike her sister does since its better to have friends than none in this world. It was quite nice to finally see her sister’s smile again when they first chatted at school. This was the thing that lifted up her spirits but she could easily tell her sister is still hurt and planning revenge. She constantly is nervous around her sister and telling her revenge isn’t the answer. However, her sister tries to ignore her words and the meaning of them since she’s a bit too deep into it.
She has similar feelings to her sister, it’s mostly because she’s hopeful there are people who want to understand what the heck is going on their planet. Her age of now is 17 years old, which she’s basically living similarly to her sister Sarah. They both lost so much, their parents were the largest blow to their way of life but now they basically live at an Academy that differs so much from the Darvon Family.
Rosella hopes she can support her sister and make sure her sister doesn’t die a pointless death in trying to get… pointless revenge against the one whom murdered their parents.
Mundane Skills:
Rosella’s primary skill is Magitech Engineering and the knowledge, which goes with it in terms of the Magitech Weaponry that is created. In terms of this knowledge it is a bit better than her own sister’s in someways, which is mostly because she can tinker with the weapons, armor a bit easier. Her singing voice has a similar rhythm to her older sister’s and it is beautiful. She can write very elegantly and beautifully, which reminds even her sister and herself how their mother wrote. Her family’s history was ingrained within her all the same but it had more of a religious connotations to its teaching. The Matriarch’s Will is for the forgiving and forgetting what someone could do to someone else with malice in their hearts for greed and other nefarious deeds. She has some other talents in painting but they aren’t as good as the world class painters in Iliad City. The only other thing that her parents passed onto Rosella was their cooking talents, however, it is still a bit less than her older sister's but still better than her aunt.
Magic: In terms of what Rosella specifically created for her spells when she joined Marduk Academy, which is based on her family’s core principles. Her family lost so much during the greatest tragedy of their family all because of someone wanted power via ill gotten gains. The Matriarch’s Will requires you to forgive and forgive what someone has done to your family if it is to gain power via ill gotten gains or not. However, if you cannot give this person forgiveness and they don’t want it, which they will deserve the most necessary thing is Justice. It takes a while for a person with the Core Principles of the Darvon Family to truly understand if someone is unforgivable and would require justice.
The Matriarch’s Word: Forgiveness controls the spells, which shows the user’s kindness forgiveness and wanting to forget the past. All these spells are based on air magic, which shows a flashy flare to them with the specific crest of the Matriarch’s Will above the caster per cast. Additionally, these spells mix healing magic, air and enhancement magic together. This shows that Rosella wants to forgive you even if you are her enemy. However, there’s something that will cross her, which is if you ever harm her older sister she’ll get pretty bitchy on you. She wants to protect her older sister, which means you will get the short end of the stick and become her target for her Justice Spells.
The Matriarch’s Word: Justice controls the spells, which shows the user’s hatred, wanting to get back at you for an unforeseen crime against her sister or herself and usually keeps grudges easily. All these spells are based on Light Magic, which shows her unbridled rage as bright as the sun shines. There’s very few people whom would want to bask in the raging sun’s rays when its angry. If you ever wanted to not be shined on by the Rage of Rosella than don’t cross her path or whom she wants to protect. However, there is a definite hint she’s holding back since she doesn’t really think what they did wasn’t truly all that bad.
In terms of these two spell categories, it shows that Rosella is attached to her sister Sarah since, that’s all she has left. After her parents deaths she hasn’t really been the same since, which is why she wants to protect her sister as her older sibling. Additionally, as long as you apologize to her she will stop her onslaught and even try to heal your wounds, which she caused.
The Matriarch’s Word: Forgiveness
Gust of Forgiveness
Gust of Forgiveness before it is cast, which usually has a flashy flare of having two swords in the Matriarch's Will Coat of Arms above the caster's head. In terms of the coat of arms, the swords are facing upwards and crossed meaning Forgiveness of whomever requires it. This spell is limited in how she can cast it, which requires anyone in her sight range. The spell's effect is that of a healing wind spell, which heals anyone within a 15 meter radius and it heals minor internal injuries and major external injuries. Additionally, it gives everyone within the radius of the spell's cast will feel a cool gust of wind past them that will cool them off faster than a breeze would. It's energy transfer is giving her mana to everyone within the spell's radius in the form of green aura and a feeling of warmth to the person's body that hold their injuries.
Breeze of Forgiveness
Breeze of Forgiveness before it is cast, which usually has a flashy flare of having two swords in the Matriarch's Will Coat of Arms above the caster's head. In terms of the coat of arms, the swords are facing upwards and crossed meaning Forgiveness of whomever requires it. This spell is limited in how she can cast it, which requires at least an ally in her sight range. The spell's effect is that of a weaker healing wind spell, which has a 10 meter radius and it only heals minor external injuries. Additionally, it gives her allies a slight feeling of relief of coolness from a breeze. It's energy transfer is giving her mana to her fellow allies in a form of a green aura surrounding the areas that are injured.
Gust of Graceful Kitten
Gust of Graceful Kitten before it is cast, which usually has a flashy flare of having two swords in the Matriarch's Will Coat of Arms above the caster's head. In terms of the coat of arms, the swords are facing upwards and crossed meaning Forgiveness of whomever requires it. This spell is limited in whom can be targeted by it, which has to be within her sight range and she cannot target herself. The spell's effect grants a speed boost of 3% to three people. The transfer of power comes from when it hits an ally, which will cause a green aura to surround them.
The Matriarch’s Word: Justice
Light Fall Explosion of Justice
Light Fall Explosion of Justice before it is cast, which usually has a flashy flare of having two swords in the Matriarch's Will Coat of Arms above the caster's head. In terms of the coat of arms, the swords are facing downwards and crossed meaning Justice will be delivered to all whom deserve it. This spell requires her sight range on a target, which has annoyed her to no end specifically an enemy. The spell's effects are it binds a person for three seconds and it explodes in a magical light radiance around the target, whom she can see. Additionally, it can sear the skin on the target or it causes an itchy feeling that is very annoying. The spell's force and transference happens when the person is bound for three seconds, her mana was used to bind you so the light explosion can explode. There is a slight ticklish sensation of when you are targeted by Rosella's eyes, which means she just used this spell.
Light Arrows of Piercing Justice
Light Arrows of Piercing Justice before it is cast, which usually has a flashy flare of having two swords in the Matriarch's Will Coat of Arms above the caster's head. In terms of the coat of arms, the swords are facing downwards and crossed meaning Justice will be delivered to all whom deserve it. This spell requires her sight range on a target, which did something else to annoy her. The spell's effect can allow her to imbue her Magitech Bow to cause the arrow to fly faster, which it splits into a total of five arrows. Additionally, these five arrows only target non-vital spots on the target that are vital to mana flow, which also causes paralyzing effect for a total of 45 minutes. The spell's transference happens when she touches the Magitech Bow to cause a large light arrow of piercing justice to form. Additionally, the force of this spell is based on how far she pulls the bowstring of the bow to launch the arrow.
Matriarch’s Word: Justice
Matriarch's Word: Justice is the Judgment, which Rosella casts on people whom are irredeemable to her sensibilities. This spell requires her sight range on a target, which made her snap in anger to a point to make her seem a bit unhinged. The spell's effect is it covers a 12 meter radius around the target in blinding light and sears the land in the coat of arms, which means Justice has been served. Additionally, it binds the target's whole body for an hour while it only just gives a bad case of sunburn on the target. It disintegrates all other matter surrounding the target, which made her seem a bit unhinged but it doesn't harm the target in this way. Rosella's Mana is basically drained completely after using this spell, but since she holds back the target will undoubtedly survive. If it wasn't for the unwieldy nature of this spell to use but she isn't in the right mindset to use it to its fullest potential. Rosella has to transfer all her mana within to the area of where the spell will hit via the massive sword planted on the ground. The Spell's force is basically when it does its combination of its paralyzing effect and its searing damage within the radius. It means the searing damage is done quicker than how long the paralyzing effect lasts.
Weapons:
The Jerivin-8 Magitech Bow
The Jerivin-8 Magitech Bow was specifically created by Rosella, which is an alternative weapon over using the staple Gradius-8 Magitech Rifle. The Jerivin-8 is the name of the Augment, which can allow Rosella to augment her magic into the bow. In this case, it doesn’t require normal arrows, which means its all magical based. However, this transfer of mana into the Bow to create a Magic Arrow out of her magic wears down the augment and can drain her mana reserves if used not properly. Maintenance is required to keep the augment and the Magitech Bow functional, which is alike other Magitech Weaponry from the Darvon Corporation.
The Savilica-6 Magitech Pistol
The Savilica-6 Magitech Pistol is a weapon, which was created by the Darvon Corporation’s Research & Development Division within it. It is specifically made for self-defensive reasons, which it has a single shot, double shot or full auto-fire functions. This is specifically a small pistol, which can be put in a handgun sized hostler. Rosella specifically only enjoys this hand gun since it’s much quieter than other magic handguns in the world of Historia.
Personality: Rosella is an example of a Darvon Family member’s way to find one’s self in the most of dire situations. It caused her to look at the more religious aspects of her family’s ideology over the societal aspects. If it wasn’t for the fact she had an inferiority complex only because of her fears of enclosed spaces, which blocked her from becoming a Magitech Controller Unit. However, it was a paranoia that kept her from exploring that option of becoming alike Jessica, which was the first Magitech Controller Unit. If it wasn’t for the encouragement of her family specifically her sister Sarah she wouldn’t have found what she feels happy doing herself.
However, she always has a social anxiety around large crowds and usually shuts down unless her sister is around her. It makes her a bit lambasted in not showing off her singing talents only because of the fact she’ll be heavily embarrassed if she fucks up in front of her sister. However, her family specifically her sister encouraged her to keep going and they work perfectly while singing, it’s because her singing matches the rhythm of her sister’s. The major thing within her life is the Matriarch’s Will, which is the driving force of her family’s long storied history. If it wasn’t because of her social anxiety she would be similarly augmentative as her older sister is when it involves the idealistic beliefs of her family. She’s a bit shy in any conversation that involves things that aren’t in her prerogative of how what she wants to talk about.
She’s trying to push her sister from not making a terrible mistake in wanting revenge when there is no need. It’s mostly because its better to let live than kill the people who’ve taken so much away from them. This is the best course of action for everyone, which doesn’t help she’s way too kind and always holds back her spells that shows her frustrations, hatred and what for towards people that slight her. Guess the only good thing is her family is democratic, which allowed her to do her own thing. It did help that the one saving grace is Angela’s side of the family doesn’t really like getting their hands dirty by breaking a nail. She has a similar mask, which she puts on because alike her sister they both lost the people they loved dearly their parents. However, its much easier to see on her face over her sister’s because of the fact she didn’t see her parent’s deaths.
Rosella went directly to the Marduk Academy For the Mystic Arts, when she hit 13 years old. It was the only set place she could feel safe since it teaches magics, which support the Magitech Control Unit so well. In terms of topics, she likes mostly talking about Magitech Weaponry, Magical Theory and other types of things within classes. The one thing that keeps her together is specifically talking to her sister about their problems at hand. It hurts but when she saw the return of her sister’s smile she somewhat returned to normal to remember a similar time when their parent’s were alive. This is all but a dream within her mind playing tricks on her, which usually calls out her mother in class sometimes or even her father. Whenever she has been day dreaming a bit, which she usually gets heavily embarrassed and kinda goes back to her studies.
The only good thing is she sees her sister as her sister and nothing more. She wants to support her sister in any and all endeavors she pushes forward with. If it wasn’t for the lost of their mother Angela and their father Irvin, it would’ve been slightly easier on her. She is in the richer side of the dorms since its basically the only thing she thinks can be properly protected from Louise’s schemes. It’s a bit odd that her sleeping schedule is much better than her sister even though she’s always quiet and shy in class. She usually wakes up her drone, that should be waking her up with an alarm clock setting. She has a similar liking to cooking but not as much as her older sister’s skills.
Faction: Marduk Academy for The Mystic Arts (The Cassandra Club)
Are You A Descendant of the Illuminated Poet?: Yes
Sarah Viola Darvon (Older Sister/Alive – 18 Years Old)
Sarah was 12 years old, when she lost her parents to a terrible dilemma. It was specifically at the hands Louise K. Testa-Carla, which personally killed Angela & Irvin in the Magitech Factory #35. This factory mass produced Magitech Behemoth Tanks in three varieties, which are the Command, Heavy Assault and Defender Classes. However, Sarah was spared the trauma of being brutally murdered by Louise since she needed Sarah to transfer the power of the Darvonian Corporation to her. After the transfer she didn’t really care if Sarah lived, or died afterwards but friendly forces within the Corporation escorted Sarah to Justine’s House. Justine’s House was the complete opposite to what Angela & Irvin’s home was, it was basically an impregnable fortress with multifaceted locks and what not. It took her awhile to join the Marduk Academy for The Mystic Arts, which is basically two years after she couldn’t get anymore teaching in her Aunt’s school.
However, she passed the examination course with flying colors, which is to become a Magitech Controller Unit without using Anger or Fear. It is another perfect Magitech Controller Unit called Silver Justice. She told her aunt about what truly happened at Magitech Factory #35.
Irina was given to Rosella on her 7th Birthday, which marked the day that Rosella felt inadequate to her sister’s abilities. Irina has a female robotic voice, which tries to give words of encouragement to Rose to stop being down on herself. The voice has a similar caring tone to what Rosella remembers of her mother Angela, which is odd. Irina has the same capabilities as the Magitech Tick Drone, Mira, which was given to her older sister Sarah. However, these two drones don’t really get along much since the Scorpion Drone is much more equipped for combat situations than the tick drone. It can augment Rosella’s Wind and Light Elemental Magics since it has a Magitech Core that is built out of those elemental magics. However, its primary abilities comes in its tail and claws, which the earlier can shoot out Magitech Rifle ammo. It’s claws are alike what regular scorpion claws are.
