Angel took a deep breath. She finally set down the menu. She was blushing once again. It seemed, to her, like they were reenacting that 'date' from her memory, only with a third person sitting at the table. She looked away.
Angel sighed. She started humming her favorite tune to distract herself. She did it all the time before when she was embarrassed, nervous, or anxious. she kept looking away as she did so.
"If you are." He hangs his head slightly. "I never should have mistreated you Marin. I'm...I'm sorry, for being such a monster." He looks at Angel. "I'm sorry. I don't even remember how I hurt you, and that makes it all the worse."
Angel sighed. "You became power hungry, erased your 'least important' memories with a spell, and broke of our engagement after that, saying you didn't remember me, and arranged to marry Emily!" She shed a few tears. She gasped, turned red, and hid her face again.
Marin grins faintly. “I’ve been through worse, you know that.” She sighs and frowns, then she puts a hand on his shoulder. “But now you know that that was an illusion, your addiction talking, right?”
Angel stopped in her tracks. "Don't you have an object that shows you past present and such? It would show you the kind hearted soul you once were, before you chose power over love."
Angel sighed. She sat back down. "you actually loved, you cared, but then you became addicted to power. You even erased memories so nothing would hold you back." She teared up.
Marin smiles softly as she stares into the distance. “You were a kind man, selfless, doing the right thing without thinking twice about what it would mean for you. You saw me, a woman rejected and broken by her own kind and you took me in without a second thought, despite the rumors going around.”
Marin frowns and crosses her arms. “And so you lost your humanity. Perhaps the lack of qualms in doing anything considered unethical is a side benefit..”
