Marin smiles, as she had completed her mission. “Well it was nice to meet you, thanks for everything. See you around?” She waves bye and turns to leave.
Emily drank the lemonade. She thought it tasted good, but felt funny afterwards for a moment. She shrugged it off in the end though. Anyway, she glanced around, hoping her friend was ok. She blinked, confused, when she heard the girl and saw her suddenly leave like that.
Marin leaves and once she’s out of anyone’s eyesight, she shifts into a bird to speed her travel back to Damocles’ lair. She shifts into her natural form when she arrives, landing in a bow. “It is done, my lord.”
Marin nods and frowns to herself. "I may have to take another form..." She turns and flies off, and transforms into Marion in the middle of an abandoned wood. She goes to the address that Emily had given.
After a while, Marion is welcomed into the Valentine family. As Marion appears to be enrolled in the same family as Emily, Mr. and Mrs. Valentine call Emily to see if she would be okay with Marion as a roommate.
Emily was against it, mainly because she was only visiting for the summer and would be back in school soon enough. She did not trust a stranger living with her parents. She sighed and shook her head. The phone call was not a pleasant one. That was for certain.
Emily’s parents look exasperated as they tell Marion the news. She shakes her head with a kind smile. “It’s okay. I get it, I’m completely new to you. Thanks for everything.” Marion leaves with a huff. She looks around, gathering her thoughts.
Emily sighed. She had no idea what the true reason was for her parents being upset and she did not know that they would go against her wishes and invite the girl to live with them. Her parents were trying to keep their end of their deal with a certain someone. They had promised her as a bride, long before she was even born.
Marion is shocked when Emily’s parents stop her and insist on her staying with them, and she smiles broadly and hugs them. She’s shown to a spare room, and is told to make herself comfortable.
