A journey to the depths of the ocean and the unknown to find the fabled lost city of Atlantis: That's what the team had set out for. The expedition has been funded by the eccentric and filthy rich Preston Whitmore, and follows the findings of the legendary Shepherd's Journal. The crew isn't expected to find much more than some ancient ruins, but being able to prove that Atlantis existed at all could promise them all wealth and fame. While the thought of fortune motivates some, the simple idea of knowledge and exploration powers others. What will our explorers find deep below the sea?
If you haven't caught on yet, this is an RP based on Disney's Atlantis: The Lost Empire. It will follow the basic plot of the movie, but will obviously go into more detail given that this is a written medium. Our characters will be OCs that are embarking on the same journey, with a few extra roles that go along with the theme. As with the movie, this RP will take place in 1914, with the same gloriously steampunkish aesthetic.
1: Please try to remain active. If you don't believe you can maintain a posting speed of twice per week, minimum, then please reconsider joining.
2: You may play an Atlantean if you want, but please also play a crew member. The Atlanteans won't come in until about halfway through the RP, and I don't want you guys to get bored waiting.

Well, here she is. Didn't take me as long as I thought, I kind of got on a roll in my opinion. Let me know if there's anything I need to change, add, or edit, or whatever. I based her on Milo Thatch of course and gave her a similar personality so she can fit the same role in the crew as Milo did in the movies. Obviously a cartographer who's just in it for the money means there's literally no conflict in the movie since that's the prevailing attitude of most of the crew, I imagine, lol. When not wearing her glasses, her right eye tends to drift inwards towards her nose rather then agreeing with wherever her left eye is looking. She can still see out of it when it's like it, but it's vision is blurrier and it's much easier to just focus on what her left eye is seeing rather then straining herself to look out of her lazy one. Especially when it's mostly just her nose and whatever the left eye is seeing, but worse.

It has gotten under her skin recently, but she'd distracted herself more and more with focusing on the Lost Empire of Atlantis and cracking the code of the Atlantean language. Within the last year she has finally gotten fluent with it, has learned it's syntax and grammar, and can read and write it. Now, she's diving headlong into finally making a name for herself with a discovery that can't possibly be covered up or be taken credit for by somebody else- the discovery of the lost city itself. He traveled abroad, meeting a young woman by the name of Lydia Hatch - a very strange, but vibrant woman who grew up in what Lou would have considered the worst possible life - No family, and hopping from town to town since she was twelve. At first, this idea sounded foreign and he rejected the idea, but soon realized that Lydia had more life experience in just those two, short years, than he could ever hope while living the way he did.
Lydia was like nothing he had ever met in a woman, and this enticed him. There was a point, in which, he was ready to return home, while she continued her travels. During this time with her, she pointed out all of the good that the two of them could do for those less fortunate than themselves. She taught him the power of empathy, and shared her love of animals. Lou asked her to join him, to come home with him where the two could continue doing good together, but Lydia refused, not willing to be tied down in any way and the two finally parted ways. Lou was ready to return home, his view on the world different than it ever had been and continued his schooling eagerly. Over the years, he wrote to Lydia, telling her about all of his accomplishments and owing his willingness to help others to her. Eventually he continued his studies into medical and got a job in a mining town in Arizona. There he saw injuries like he never had before and eventually got called to another, more prestigious hospital on the other coastline, in New York. He continued to write to Lydia through all this, before at last her responses stopped coming - the last letter he sent was returned to him with a stamp saying "return to sender".
Eventually, he decided to look for Lydia, spending a large amount of his savings, moving from city to city, looking for any sign of her - before at last, he discovered the terrible truth - her death. Finding it difficult to return to the same life as before, he bargained passage on a ship, offering his services in exchange. He continued this way of life until getting a telegram from his father with the news that his mother had passed, he returned to say his final goodbye, and decided to take this opportunity to work in a stable hospital again. Intuition often lead him through some of the most complicated situations, and his success rate was higher than most, but even he couldn't save everybody, and at some point, the death toll grew to be too much. The last patient he lost was an older man who insisted on having his young Golden Retriever pup with him before he passed. Doc Lou had bypassed the hospital protocol and allowed the pup, who the old man called Molly. There was nothing he could do to help the poor man, but he seemed to know that it was his time and he asked Doc to take the pup and keep her as his own. Personality One best describe to our dear Rebecca personality is arrogant, sarcastic trickster who take steal wherever she goes and just being non-apologetic person but there more then meets the eye, Rebecca can be charismatic, friendly person once you get to know her.
Appearance Rebecca James stands in 5'7 with her long blonde hair and her tan skin can make anyone swoon over her great appearance (her words, not my). Rebecca also some scars from her past, like a small scars on her arm, leg and hand and a bullet wound scar on her shoulder.
For wardrobe, Rebecca James just likes to wear casual clothes like coats, a white bottom shirt, black pants and black boots
History When Rebecca James was born, her rat-bastard parents left her at the doorsteps of an orphanage and so are off the start, Rebecca life is not a good one at all. throughout her childhood, Rebecca have been skilled and troublesome child, she lie to adults, pickpocketed people and just cause havoc wherever she goes.
When she turn 16, she became a part of England most deadly gang....As their cook? Yeah, really, even Rebecca was surprise by this. To this day, Rebecca doesn't know why the gang want her as cook but she doesn't care, it the money that counts but at the same, Rebecca was having fun cooking, she just love the looks of the gang members faces when they are enjoying her foods and for once in her life, she finally feel happy after years of hearing for people telling her that she not special, she finally feel special by her peers.....But then crap hits the fan when one of gang member ratted the gang out to the police and all them, including Rebecca, was sent off to jail.
After spending months in the birdhouse, Rebecca was finally out and got a special call, a mission to look for a lost city. At first, Rebecca thought it was a joke....But on the other hand, Rebecca took picture with so much gold, she agree to go on the mission to look for the lost empire of atlantis. I mean, what could go wrong?

Speciality: Tristan is very perceptive and can record things in meticulous detail. He also has photographic memory which helps him recall anything he has ever seen. As such, he makes for a perfect record keeper.
Personality: Tristan is a very peculiar person. While very observant, he has some issues with interpersonal relations, sometimes seeming distant or rude. The truth is that Tristan has trouble dealing with others and interpreting social cues, as he seems to be on the autistic spectrum. But for those he does manage to get along with, Tristan is a very caring and loyal friend. While he does not enjoy violence, Tristan is willing to fight to protect those he cares about.
Tristan is something of a perfectionist, always holding himself to a level that requires constant bettering. As such Tristan is always trying to learn all he can, viewing his photographic memory as a gift from God for just that purpose. Due to this high standard he can get quite annoyed with people who he views as purposefully ignorant.
Appearance: Tristan is a man of average height, standing at 5’7’’, with a slender build that betrays his lack of manual labour in the past. His young face is accompanied by a mop of messy, dark brown hair, with matching sideburns, and eyes the colour of a chestnut. Tristan has a very pale complexion, as it seems like this expedition is the first time he has spent any amount of time outside in a long while. Tristan also hides a scar that runs up his right leg, the result of surgery when he was a child.
The choice of attire that Tristan has chose keeps in line with the privileged upbringing he had. The majority of the time he can be seen wearing a proper dress shirt and a full piece suit, usually in grey or brown, as well as finely pressed pants and a pair of well shined dress shoes. However, he has bought a pair of boots for the expedition, woefully unaware of the demands of the adventure and appropriate attire.
Other: Tristan is perfectly fluent in English and French. He always has several notebooks on his person, and insisted that he bring along a new state of the art typewriter on the expedition.

The Walkers had been in Canada for a few generations, rumour stating that they used to work for the Hudson Bay Company. Regardless of the past, the Walkers were rich, the patriarch, Elliot Walker, being a merchant with many connections across the nation. Growing up, Tristan would never want for anything, always having the newest clothes, the best education. It was expected that all this would ready Tristan to follow in his father’s footsteps.
However, Tristan found the world of business dealings quite boring, instead either making notes about nature in his journal or write poetry. It was during this time that Tristan discovered the works of H.G. Wells and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, stories full of adventure and wonder. These stories convinced Tristan that his calling was to write novels. This choice was looked at with disdain by Elliot Walker.
Tristan spent the next few years working on what he thought would be his magnum opus, the Eye of Wotan, an epic fantasy adventure. He spent years researching and planning the story, before spending several more years actually writing it. By the time that Tristan was finished he was at the age to attend college. His father decided to help him publish his novel, but only if he attended the University of Toronto. Tristan agreed, pursuing a degree in journalism.
After completing his first year, Tristan was elated to learn that the Eye of Wotan had been published. He was less elated when nobody was talking about it. Months went by and still no mention of his novel. After a year it became apparent that no one was buying his book. Depressed over this, Tristan barely finished his studies and obtained his degree. For the next half year, Tristan remained at his family’s home, feeling that his life was pointless. This ended when his father had enough and kicked him out.
Out on his own, Tristan almost became a vagrant, but he managed to score a position at a local newspaper. He held that position for several months before being approached by Preston Whitmore, a man he had interviewed for his book. The very wealthy elder offered him a position to document the events on an expedition he was organizing. Tristan agreed, believing that it would be much more interesting than working at a small town paper.
