Closest thing I can think of would be an ax beak and those are the ones used as mounts/goods transportation here.

It is a large flightless bird with a wedge shaped beak. Tend have a rather nasty disposition and don't like unknown beings approaching it.

No there really isn't much here by means of a general store. Most supplies are brought in from Easthaven. The mead hall is best bet for food rations if that is what your looking for.
