Well, now Jub is really gonna be freaking out about this. If the snake Brutrumukk killed doesn't turn to stone or do anything else weird, Jub is gonna think this is all his doing. Somehow.

I really have to scratch my head over the extent of Zavakri’s trust on this one. On one hand we’re in fairy land. On the other, she’s a good person and already expended a lot of effort to ‘save’ this being. Surely no harm can come

You guys were given some hints that you guys were in a different plane of existence.
Plus, with Jub's rant to Zavakri, about megafauna and how things don't make sense, it is a possibility that could come to Jub's mind.

Not really. You can use the interior of the tower to get up to the roof and to the balloon. ^_^
