So Byrd man, here's the scenario I have so far:
-In the year 1961 around December, the military Dictator Benito* Muñez begins to mobilize his troops, under the pretense of "Bringing Panama back to Colombia".
-The somewhat organized military begins to march into colombia and occupy multiple towns, but continue their advancements.
-The colombian military manages to advance to the Canal despite resistance from Panama's people.
-America, despite Benito believing a isolationist America, dealing with florida's rebellion and canada's invasion would be too occupied to bother, intervenes and more than likely the colombian military will be totally screwed in Panama.
-Chances are Colombia's neighbors condemn the act of blatant imperialism, mainly so they stay on the USA's good side and because South America's colonies tend to like keeping borders the way they are from what I recall.
But the real fun comes in the political fallout of Colombia's military dictatorship trying to do such blatant land-grab. Chances are the dictator gets a counter coup and the
timocracy republic gets restored, but it wouldn't be the same. However, what the US and/or Brazil does to Colombia is what I need to take into account.
However the end result I am trying to get for Colombia is essentially a even less stable mess of a place where land lords need to raise personal militias just to defend themselves. As already said in the lore and mihndar's colombia related postings, Colombia is swamped in guerrillas and druglords to the point where Brazil led interventions to stop cocaine from getting all over the continent and spain are rather frequent, especially as of recent.
Despite all that, there still is a functioning state.
*Benito is spanish as well as italian.
He'll be back when PoW reaches the year 2523 and we can fly spaceships around.
It probably won't be that long.
Year 2325 should suffice.
