Pro tips from the Army:

Burst fire fucking sucks.

Automatic fire fucking sucks unless you're planted down on a bipod and even then you're shooting in like eight round bursts so you don't melt your barrel.

Semiauto is your friend.

Only wanna-be Rambos fire in full-auto and think they're doing something.

Admittedly even if vidya games I just sit there and tap the mouse button for burst-fire shit. The only time I went full-auto was when I needed to kill a room full of Poltergeists in S.T.A.L.K.E.R Clear Sky and my shotgun wasn't cutting the mustard, so I pulled out my special tank-edition PKM and held down fire and Scarface'd that room.

Videos of middle eastern forces (except Kurds, usually) always have that one guy hip-firing a machine gun like Rambo. That shit does nothing but waste ammo.

In my video game case I sort of had to or these five ghostly mother-fuckers would have clubbed me to death with barrels and gas canisters like happened when I tried to do it surgically with shotgun.

In the end I still have over a thousand rounds left in the magazine and I still don't need to go back to the tank I got it from originally to stock back up.

Whenever I work with like, MPs/FBI/DEA/Various SWATs they always have stories of fuckheads who try to take cover behind couches or something and just get shot through it with a 5.56mm carbine or gangstas who try to shoot sideways and end up with a failure to eject a shell, jamming their piece.
