What the hell is up with the OP banner..? Wouldn't the Spain/Ethiopia/China badge be more fitting?

EDIT: Oh, it rotates. Well.. It's weird that the first thing I see is a dude's head impaled on a spike.

Looking over the Lore and political map, I saw that in the Middle East where Israel would be has been divided into two nations, one purple, the other empty. I wanted to see if it is at all possible to begin the State of Israel through its Declaration of Independence using the real world borders today. This would mean, the borders would roll into both present existing nations.

I would not be opposed to immediate tension and fighting to secure the borders, however I understand this is Lore that has been ongoing for sometime and to encroach on already existing borders might be an issue.

I am interested, if the State of Israel could not be established due to possible implications with the Lore and already existing nations, I would look for another country to play. If the State of Israel can be established, then I would most definitely want to play as this nation. There is much story and development that I like in this part of the world, my version of Israel will have many similarities and many differences compared to the one today.

I don't think we can accommodate an Israel.

A lot of Israel's history requires British intervention and the collapse of the Ottoman Empire. The problem is, the Ottoman Empire collapsed just two weeks before where the RP is now. We also have well and established that Palestine primarily Arab, and that the movement to wrest it free from the Ottoman Empire was likewise primarily Arab.

Now, would there be Jews in this newly freed Palestine? Of course. Could there be Zionists? Maybe. They just wouldn't be a political majority.

Israel came about because Britain needed to get rid of all its Holocaust refugees. So they stuck 'em in Mandatory Palestine and were done with it. So all the Jews that would have fled from Germany to avoid getting killed are still in Europe, making Palestine pretty Arab.

There'd be Jews there from earlier migrations through the 16th-19th century. But their population wouldn't be so hard to be an issue and Zionism wouldn't be as mainstream as it is post-Holocaust.

I'd imagine most Jews would be trying to live as they can in the new states of Syria and Jordan post-Ottomans, sharing in the same trial and tribulations as their Assyrian and Palestinian neighbors. Unless it's encourages externally later on, or the years in PoW drag on and there's discontent with Jordan or Syria for one reason or another than I could see Zionism taking on, if in a different context and situation to break from their Arab masters.

But since Jews are people of the book, I can't see it being much a thing unless Islam somehow radicalizes, which'd mean some manner of interference from outside all the same I think.

Aaaaand now the Swastika, as a positive symbol, is ruined. The Nazis ruined arms bands too. And anything that even comes close to their uniforms. Which is a damn shame, cause I personally think their uniforms looked great, and classy as fuck.

It might come back. The Nazi is still in living memory. In another hundred years, however, it might be far enough back in history that people stop worrying about the negative notations of swastikas. Or sharply dressed military's for that matter.

I won't be around in a hundred years though. And I really like those uniforms.
