Welcome to the Voting and Feedback round for RPGC#37!

Voting and Feedback guidelines

  • Please take your time to read through all the entries before voting for your favourite work. The reasons you base your vote on are up to you, as long the vote isn’t based on whether or not you like the author.
It would be nice if you could share why you voted for a specific work.
  • Giving feedback is optional but highly encouraged. When giving feedback you should be respectful and constructive. It’s good to point out any flaws or the things you feel could be improved or why you didn't like something, but don’t be mean.
Make sure to point out what you liked or appreciated in the entry too.
  • Contestants may and are encouraged to vote for and give feedback for the other entries, but don’t vote for your own entry. If contestants wish to withhold a vote and only give feedback, that is good too.
  • The entries are anonymous unless the writer asked for having their name added. That being said, writers may claim their work at any time during the voting period.
  • The entry with the most votes will win, but in case of a tie a Contest Mod will cast the tie-breaker vote.
  • You can vote for entries and post your feedback in this thread, but if you rather have your vote and/or feedback be anonymous you can PM it to @Loksfjoer.
  • The voting period deadline is June 10th, 9:00 CET, which is 7:00 server time (both times are in a.m.).

(Unsure if this is how to do it) But I Vote for Choice by Salenea! I love how in depth the story is and how much it tells in the short page it has, I just absolutely love it.

*thinks* "Ah, the feminism of transgender teleporting for biased fantasy..."

Here's why I won't vote. Because other than mine they seem to be from an emporium.

I vote for The Starless Kingdom by @Nymian!

I love the story from start to finish, perhaps it's because I'm a sucker for such a sweet, romantic tale of a hero fighting for his love. That coupled with the theme around stars, and how I can imagine the scenes transition from one to the other...oh, such a lovely piece! :D

The Choice by @Salenea comes in a close second for me. I liked the theme about the Power of Choice, but I wish it was fleshed out more so I can read and know more :P

Kudos to all participants by the way! I wanted to submit an entry too but lack of time (and effort) made me miss this round's contest. Guess I'm not a dilly-dally for nothing xD

I vote for The Starless Kingdom. It is a quite an adventure, a well written and complete story in limited words, I didn't feel anything was missing besides cutting some corners. The transition from a havoc creating nuiscance, loathed by the staff to a friendly rescuer and love interest was a bit sudden, but for the length of the story it worked.

As for the other stories:
The royal life is a sweet but short romantic story. I would have loved to read more of the story and not keep me hanging on that cliff hanger. ^_^ The characters are very diverse and interesting to read how they look.
It is a downside that the entire story it started with Crystal, Crystal, The king, Crystal, Crystal, She, Crystal, Ember. A little variation in starting the senteces would improve the story.

King Sebastian is a well written story, the two scenes are detailed and read easy. I would have loved to learn more about King Sebastian, about what was going on, what happened in the 23 years, tie the two scenes a bit more together. There are a lot questions to be answered.

That is completely fair feedback. I joined the site with about a week left of the competition, and I goofed the deadline time because my mind read CST not CET lol.

I really hoped to flesh out the nuisance bit a little more, and make it more of a turning point of realizing he could drop the act and mature but I had to rush it. Even still, I was happy with it. I'm so glad you enjoyed it!

Also when are you going to start writing for the contests again? I know you're judging them now, but how else am I going to read about spoony bards?

I should. For this one I didn't have a particular story in mind, but if I can use my bard in the next round I'll see about making an entry myself.

Hello there!

I'm casting my vote for 'A Royal Life' by @midnight stars

I briefly read through all the stories, and I admit that I found the last one to be cute in its storyline and tone, which is excellent, although for feedback I'd say to give each character more development! The best storylines have the plot told through the character's perspectives and has their intentions always made clear! Also, I'd suggest increasing the space between each paragraph as it can become visually nosy otherwise!

Cheers!

Voting Deadline was June 10th. It's July 8th or 9th now. These votes don't mean anything...

That was a typo, thank you for pointing it out. This thread was created on June 30th, and as the voters rightfully assumed, they had until the 10th of July to submit their votes. All votes in this thread are valid.

That being said, the 10th is today, so I have counted the votes.

The winner is The Starless Kingdom. Congratulations @nymian.
