Prologue
In the ancient kingdom of Eldoria, a land shrouded in perpetual twilight, the balance between light and darkness teeters on the edge of collapse. The once-prosperous realm is now plagued by a malevolent force known as the Darkblight, a dark entity that feeds on fear and despair.
Eldoria is a place of stark contrasts, where towering mountains cast long shadows over desolate plains, and dense forests hide secrets older than time itself. The kingdom’s cities, once bustling with life and commerce, now lie in ruins, their streets haunted by the whispers of the past. Ancient castles and fortresses, remnants of a bygone era, stand as silent sentinels against the encroaching darkness.
Magic, both wondrous and terrifying, permeates the very fabric of Eldoria. Forgotten spells and ancient runes hold the key to the kingdom’s salvation, but they are guarded by powerful and enigmatic forces. The land is dotted with mystical landmarks, such as the Crystal Caverns, where light dances in mesmerizing patterns, and the Abyssal Rift, a chasm that seems to lead to the very heart of darkness.
The natural world of Eldoria is equally treacherous. Nightmarish creatures, born of the Shadowbane’s influence, roam the wilderness, preying on the unwary. From the venomous Shadow Serpents to the elusive Wraith Wolves, danger lurks in every corner. Yet, amidst the gloom, there are pockets of resilience and hope. Hidden groves and sacred springs offer sanctuary to those who seek to restore the light.
As the Shadowbane’s power grows, the very essence of Eldoria is at stake. The kingdom’s fate hinges on the rediscovery of ancient prophecies and the rekindling of forgotten magic. Eldoria’s struggle is not just against the darkness that threatens to consume it, but also against the despair that has taken root in the hearts of its people.
Welcome To Eldoria
I would like to run this RP as a fantasy, looking for 3-4 people maximum excluding myself to explore the world and new OCs. I will run as a sort of DM, describing the world and other events including "NPCs" as well as enemies etc.
Races
Races that are available in Eldoria are quite varied but should be human-esque. For example, Humans, Elves, Dwarves, are all acceptable whereas Orcs, Goblins etc should be left alone as they are generally enemy characters in this story. If you REALLY want to play a non-human, please DM me and we'll discuss it.
Magic
Magic in the universe is difficult, you typically won't be throwing fireballs or playing this like a mage. Most adventurers will be of non-magic origin and magic users will be very few and far between as magic is exhaustive in this world, and sacrificial. For example, to cast a fireball, a magic user would need a source of fire, such as a lantern, as well have prepared a magic sigil for them to stand within. Only when they have both the lantern and the magic, as well as knowing how to cast a fireball, including incantation, would they be able to cast a fireball.
Classes
I don't care for "classes" in the typical sense. I won't be using stats or the like for this adventure, it shall be dramatic story-telling and common sense. Example being a human is unlikely to be stronger than a fuller grown ogre, but it can be possible given certain circumstances.
My use for classes in this will be to give a theme or a feel for a character, allowing easier understanding of what characters may and may not be able to perform or do.
Character sheets
I want all characters within this world to be original creations for each player. I don't want to assign characters and hope that my image of them is how people will play them so I am giving out a character sheet (see below) for you to fill out to show who you be playing. If you have ANY questions about any of the things within the CS below, please DM me! I'm more than happy to help out with anything in the sheet!
