“S-sorry, I didn’t mean t-to wake you up.” Willow stammers as she hesitates before padding over to his bed and climbing in. Her body still shakes from the dream, her ears tucked against her head, and her nose has turned red. “Sorry…” She mumbles as she sniffles. It feels silly to her - if she ever had a nightmare before, everyone else would try to silence her before ones of the wolves could notice. But with Rowan? She doesn’t understand it, but he’s a powerful source of comfort for her right now.

"It's okay.." His sleepy voice is a little rougher and thicker. He can already feel sleep tug back at him. He wraps his arm around her when he puts the covers back and pulls her into his chest. He settles, and then his breathing is even out already. He's fast asleep, holding her against his chest, surrounded by his scent. He's got to get up in a few hours so he has to get more sleep.

Willow starts to calm down as soon as the covers are over her again, Rowan’s scent engulfing her. As he pulls her close against his chest, she almost resists just for the sake of her own pride, but she takes a deep breath in time with Rowan’s. “Thank you.” She mumbles into his chest as her eyes close. It takes almost no time for her to fall asleep in his arms.

When Willow woke up again, Rowan wasn't there. He wasn't even in the house. On the counter was a note.

Made you some lunch for later.
The house has a landline.
My phone number is on this paper incase you need to call me.
So is the bakery number. Don't have too much fun.

His name was beautifully signed, all curvy and flowy. The tv had also been left on, volume low and currently news was on.

Willow wakes up with a sleepy yawn, rubbing her eyes as she wakes up. Rowan is no longer there and as she looks at the clock, she realizes she had slept in as the numbers read that it’s early in the afternoon. She runs her hands through her hair, finding the knots and tangles as she climbs out of his bed and makes her way to the bathroom first.

With another sleepy yawn, she heads into the kitchen and finds the note Rowan had left for her. “He’s so sweet…” She mumbles, her fingers tracing the signature at the bottom as she rereads it. Willow’s stomach chooses this moment to growl loudly and she finally sets the note back down and peeks her head into the fridge, finding a salad in a Tupperware container for her. She takes the salad and goes to sit in front of the television to watch the news Rowan had left on for her.

The rest of the days up to the shopping trip were uneventful. Rowan was usually gone by the time Willow was up and awake. There were a couple days she came with, but only about twice. Today was the day of the shopping trip though. Rowan was rummaging through the hall closet before grinning. "Got it!"

He gave a proud huff before coming to Willow waiting by the door. He reached over and pulling the hat onto her head gently, minding her ears. It'd save them a little time if she was recognized, but her skin gave her away mostly. He'd also put her hair in a braid and given her one of his cardigan's so her scent was filtering out and about, as well as some scent patches to cover her glands.

He looked to her with hands on her shoulders. "Ready? You said you wanted to come, but you can still stay here. I'm just getting groceries and some ingredients for the bakery."

Willow nods enthusiastically, smiling widely up at Rowan as she practically bounces in excitement. The two are taking every precaution to help prevent anyone from recognizing the rabbit, hence the hat. “Yes! We haven’t seen Grant or anyone else and I’m starting to get antsy staying inside al the time.” She says, unable to hide the whine in her tone at his suggestion. Only her hands, neck, and face are left uncovered with the outfit her and Rowan had pieced together.

“Now, let’s go!” She puts her hands over one of his and tugs at it impatiently.

Rowan looked at her and chuckled. He pulled on his own sweater after a moment and locked the door when they moved outside. "Remember. Recognize anyone and you hide under my sweater against my back." He set a hand on her head and then started taking the trail back to the bakery, but instead of going inside, he walked around the building to the main side walk.

Willow still smiles, but nods as they make their way to the sidewalk. “Is there a clothing store or anything near the grocery store?” She asks. Although Rowan had said he could always wash anything she wears, it still felt weird borrowing certain clothing items from his sister’s stash at his place. Plus, she could use some shoes - his sister’s shoes are too big for her and wearing multiple pairs of socks did not help.

"Yeah. Let's stop there first. Don't need you tripping." He chuckled lightly and moved down the street past his bakery front. He kept to the side of the sidewalk with the street, letting her have the side that was closest to the building. It was a protective walk, making sure she wouldn't get hurt from cars.

Willow didn’t have the opportunity to really look around the town when she was a tiny bunny running for her life and beyond hungry, so her head turns as if on a swivel while she takes it in. Her newfound freedom has her fascinated with practically everything and watching Rowan’s television had ignited her curiosity. “I’m sure you wouldn’t let me fall.” She says without really thinking about it first as she watches a car drive by.

Rowan smiled to her before they moved into sweet little clothing store. Each aisle was sectioned by species. There wasn't a bunny section, but there was probably a species close enough. He let her wander around, simply following behind her, holding a small basket to put anything she wanted in. "Get whatever you want. I'll pay for it."

Willow’s eyes go wide and excited as they enter the store, looking around at everything and going through the racks without really thinking as she looks at all the different clothes. When Rowan says she can get anything she wants, she turns red. “You don’t need to do that, I just need some underwear and a pair of shoes.” She says, backing away from the racks and standing on her tiptoes to locate the couple of items she needs.

"Little one, really. Get whatever you want. You can take them with you if you go to the sanctuary." He smiled lightly, setting a hand on her head gently. He waved at her to actually look. He didn't mind and it wasn't like he wasn't strapped for money, she knew that. He could afford the whole store if he wanted.

Willow peeks at Ron, torn between her pride and her excitement before she finally nods. “Okay… Just a few things then.” She relents before she resumes looking through the racks. Although the store doesn’t have anything for rabbits specifically, she’s able to find things that will work. At least most of the clothes would accommodate her tail. Slowly, she starts placing items over her arm, making sure she really likes something before choosing it.

After going through practically every item in the store, Willow finally decides she’s gotten everything she could possibly want from the store. “Is this still okay?” She asks Rowan just to make sure as they head towards the cashier.

The wolf looked over to her and smiled. He took the pile, including shoes and set them on the counter. "Of course. We'll go to another store before we leave so you can grab some more." He set a hand on her head again and then pulled out his card for the cashier as he watched them ring up all the items.

Willow smiles back, happy when he sets his hand on her head. It’s a small gesture, but she has found lots of comfort in the way Rowan shows affection. “I’m sure I won’t need more but… thank you.” She says, purposely avoiding looking at the register so she doesn’t become flustered. “I really appreciate it.” She says in a softer tone.

"I'll get you anything you need." He took the bags when they were handed over and started out of the store. He walked with her further down the street and then across a crosswalk. "Just a block and then we'll be at the grocery store." He flashed her a quick smile, his tail swaying slightly at his happiness.

Willow beams up at him, catching Rowan’s tail in the corner of her eye. She starts to turn to look at it more closely when she hears that familiar drawl. “Thank you kindly, ma’am. We just want to make sure our sweet Jewel comes home safe. Here’s a couple extra posters in case you know anywhere else you can put them up.”

Lucky for Willow, she was already aiming to look at Rowan’s tail and quickly hid behind him. She’s just glad she didn’t freeze. “Ah! The baker, right?” Grant takes notice of Rowan from his position up the street and starts walking towards him. “I was hopin’ you might be able to hang one of these up in your establishment.” This sends Willow crawling up into the back of Rowan’s sweater.

Rowan stopped as he saw Grant. He gaze only glancing to the spot Willow was no longer in. At least Grant hadn't seen her. He looked back up, watching Grant see him and then come towards him. He gave a small smile and a nod towards the other wolf, having to look down a little at him. Rowan had always been taller than most wolves, likely because he was a rarer color, which Grant would now see wince he wasn't hiding his ears or tail.

Which was also unfortunate, as either wolf clan would recognize him. He was kind of famous for dismissing his clan to go solo. He held out his hand when handed to poster, looking it over. "I'll see what I can. I can't guarantee anything though. I don't like putting such up, not even for domestic animals. You understand." He looked back up to Grant, sliding the poster into one of his bags. "So, you've had no luck then? Figure anything out?"
