Willow trembles, her hands clutching Rowan’s shirt under his sweater as she hears Grant come closer. The Beowulf tracker looks Rowan up and down, taking note of his ears and tail with an eyebrow raised. “We know she was last seen here ‘round these parts, but that’s about as much info we’ve got.”

Grant moves to the light pole nearby and puts up one of the posters - it’s the same photo as the Polaroid, but has the words ‘MISSING’ and ‘REWARD’ on it with information on how to contact the Beowulf’s. “She’s a tiny thing, so we’re all pretty worried about her. You’d think she’s stand out with that skin pattern and all.” Grant shakes his head and puts a hand on Rowan’s shoulder. “You just let us know if you see anything - poor thing’s never been off the estate before, she must be so scared.” He pats Rowan’s shoulder before greeting someone behind the wolf and the tiny rabbit hiding underneath his sweater.

Rowan gave a nod of a promise, watching the man walk away and talk to someone behind him. He reached behind him and moved Willow in front of him, setting a hand on her shoulder and pushing her forward gently. They made it to grocery store, and Rowan took her to an aisle.

He then pulled her against his chest gently, hunching over her as he held her, trying to calm her down. He couldn't scent her, with the patches they wore, but he could give her his warmth. "You're okay, little one."

Willow doesn’t even seem to notice that they aren’t outside on the sidewalk by Grant anymore until Rowan speaks. Her trembling starts to calm down and she hugs the wolf back tightly. With her face buried in his shirt, she can smell his scent and she focuses on that. One deep breath in, one deep breath out… “Why are they still looking for me?” She mumbles rhetorically, thoughts still racing.

Rowan rubbed her back gently, glancing around and making sure no one was in the aisle. He pulled away and leaned down more. He set his forehead against the beanie and smiled to her. "We'll talk about it when we get back. Maybe getting some answers will tell me why. For now. Groceries. I'll let you do the shopping." He pulled out the list from his pocket and held it out to her with another smile.

Willow opens her eyes when Rowan pulls away, blinking rapidly as he leans down to rest his forehead on her head. Her heart drums in her chest again and she still can’t understand why it happens so frequently around him but she returns his smile with one of her own. “Groceries.” She repeated back and nodded as she took the list from Rowan.

“What are you going to do then?” She asks, a little concerned that he plans to leave her alone to shop.

He looked to her and rose a brow. "Hmm? We're going to get groceries..?" He tilted his head a little and then blinked and chuckled. "Ah. When we get back, I'll ask you some questions, that's all. Maybe the answers you give me will tell me why they keep looking for you." He set a hand on her head and gestured for her to start with the list.

“Oh!” Willow feels her face warm as it turns dark red, the lighter skin spots giving away her embarrassment. She tries to smile through it, her expression coming off as sheepish. “Right… Let’s get the groceries quickly then so we don’t run into…” Her face falls a little before she forces a smile. “I’m okay.” Is she trying to convince herself or Rowan?

Rowan chuckled but let her shrug it off. They got groceries, Rowan letting her choose all of it from the list except what he needed for the bakery. Once they were done, he was carrying all the groceries and she was carrying her clothes. Instead of on the street front though, Rowan took them through the wooded trail back to his house.

It was a quiet walk with the birds and frogs croaking. Pleasant and non threatening at all.

The closer they got to Rowan’s house, the more Willow starts to relax again. “Even though we had a close call… I really liked going out with you.” She tells Rowan, turning to look at him as her ears under the beanie twitch. “It felt almost normal.” She has a tiny hop to her walk as she starts to see his house come into view. Willow almost runs ahead, feeling anxious to get inside and shed some of her extra layers.

"Sorry to break it to you, little one. That's how it's suppose to feel." He chuckled lightly, unlocking the door for her. He moved into the kitchen, setting groceries down and already separating stuff he needed for the bakery.

Once it was all gathered, he picked it up and started to the door. "I'll be right back. Going to drop off the bakery stuff!" The front door opened and closed and then she was alone again in the house.

Willow’s cheeks redden as she shoots Rowan a small glare, pursing her lips to look upset but finding it hard to keep a smile off her face. When they enter the house, Rowan heads to the kitchen while Willow scampers to put her clothes into ‘her’ room before hearing Rowan leaving. She sticks her head out the door and calls out. “Be careful!”

She’d try to go with him, but she wants to try on some of the clothes and see how it feels to wear something that’s just hers. She excitedly bounces from foot to foot until the door closes behind him. She bites her lip and starts going through the bags to find something to wear.

It only took Rowan maybe twenty minutes to be gone. He went to the bakery, put everything away. He got just enough for the rest of the time he was here and then he would donate everything he didn't use so it wouldn't go bad.

"I'm back!" He called as he locked the door. He moved to the kitchen to put the groceries away, seeing them still on the counter. Huh. He then started to make some dinner, since they'd been gone most of the day.

Willow had been trying on outfit after outfit before finally picking something comfy for the rest of the day. To match the big sweater she chose, she wore some blue fuzzy socks as well. When she hears Rowan return, she comes skipping out of her room and runs into the kitchen. “Welcome ba-“ he barely gets the words out before she trips on something or maybe her fuzzy socks betray her and make her slip across the floor, but she starts falling as soon as she’s about to reach Rowan.

He looks up at her bounding up and then is immediately responsive to her tripping. His hands move as he steps around the counter and grabs her. His hands touching her back and side under the cardigan as he catches her against his chest. He blinks lightly, looking down at her. his ears straight and forward. "You okay..? That could have been nasty.."

With a soft gasp, Willow’s caught into a a pair of strong hands. She stares up at Rowan with her hands on his chest, surprised that he caught her so easily. “Sorry, I got too excited…” She laughs sheepishly, trying to ignore the goosebumps she feels with his hands on her skin.

“Th-thanks,” Her heart and tail drum in time with each other. “Your eyes are really blue, did you know that?” She says this softly with a tone full of wonder.

He blinked lightly and chuckled softly. He helped her stand properly, letting his hands pull away, dragging along her skin a little. "Thank you, little one. Be careful, alright?" He fixed her sweater and then went back to what he was doing. Chopping vegetables it seemed.

A thrill went up her spine as Rowan lets go of Willow and she represses a shudder. “R-right.” She mumbles, blink as she tries not to feel too disappointed that his hands were gone already. Swallowing the lump in her throat, she stands closer to Rowan and peeks over the counter to see what he’s prepping. “Is there anything I can do to help with dinner?”

He gave a hum and a chuckle. "Not this time. I'll be alright. Why don't you sit and we'll answer those questions I want to ask?" He gestured to the bar stool at the other side of the counter. He put the chopped vegetables in the pot to cook, and then started cutting up some meat.

Willow had conveniently forgotten that they were going to have a conversation. Her ears droop just a little as she goes and sits on the stool. She leans forward onto her elbow, propping her head up as she watches Rowan. “What questions do you have?” She asks while trying not to appear too terrified at the aspect of talking about her past.

He chuckled lightly and shook his head. He dumped the meat onto a pan and threw some oil on before shuffling it around with the handle of the pan. "Don't worry too much. I'm not interrogating you. We'll stop whenever you want. Do you have family?" He glanced to her before continuing his cooking, flipping the meat with a flick of the pan in the air.
