Bacon's post got me thinking. How do you all want to handle munny and items? Same as the game? Acquire them through combat and treasure chests or mini quests given by NPCs?

Definitely need to add worlds or flesh out the stories further. Could always have a group in Halloween Town while another is Agrabah.

The way I see it, as long as everyone keeps it realistic, just trust in everyone to do their own thing with buying stuff. If for whatever reason, you decide to reward someone with a big chunk of money, then that's up to you as co-gm. But otherwise since this isn't like a game to be beaten, we can just trust people to not be like 'So anyway I'm gonna buy like 50 of these bracelets that give me more strength and I'm now Hercules'

@King Kindred That's fair. No offense, but if it means getting tied to a storyline that is one of the leading problems with the franchise, i'd pass on it anyway. I'll try to think of a way to introduce them in a natural way while steering clear of that clusterfuck.

Side note: interesting fact that I learned is that in a recent interview, Tetsuya Nomura, himself, admitted that the story is so hard to follow that he occasionally has to refamiliarize himself with it through YouTube videos lol

On the note of fleshing out worlds, I Was going to say that a long while back... or maybe I did? I have memory issues. But basically what I wanted to say is...

For me personally it's important that it feels like the worlds matter. It's not just a place to show up and do 'Kingdom Hearts' stuff. But it's also not just a place to show up and do 'Stuff from that world'. The best way I can explain it is...

In KH3 I really liked the Toy Story world, because you set off on a completely unique adventure separate from the movies, the characters all interacted with Sora, Donald, and Goofy, and cared that they were there, and their presence had a legitimate effect on the story, and in fact the way Buzz was so suspicious of them, the fact they didn't belong in that world pretty much drove the plot.

In KH3 I really disliked the Frozen world, because it literally did not matter if you were there or not. It was just, the events of the movie happen, and meanwhile Sora, Donald, and Goofy also happen to be there and kinda sorta help Anna out with something but beyond that, the events of the movie transpire completely separate from your own story, it just happens to be in the same world while Sora chases Larxene around.

There is no point in going to a world just so that the events of the movie or other media from that world can take place while our characters do their own separate thing in the meantime.

That's why I also loved San Fransokyo. It really felt like everything that happened in that world could be used to set up a sequel.

Also, I don't get why people were suddenly concerned with interfering in the happenings of the world. Why didn't anyone call out Sora for meddling in Tarzan's story as much as he did or Alice's if it was such a big deal?

@Sadu I agree. I still haven't finished KH3 but I do want to feel like our characters were there and part of the story.

I heard the Frozen story happened the way it did because they didn't want to turn Elsa into the antagonist.

@Sadu See, this is why Cinderella World in Birth By Sleep is the best balanced world. We get to see the dark, broody bastard have a character ark where he learns that when you wish upon a star, dreams really do come true. Aqua actually helps in the story by buying time for Cinderella's escape and the character who's whole thing is that he feels small and insignificant in the world actually face a world where he is small and insignificant. It actually plays with characters themes while keeping the original story alive. Each of the characters has a role to play and a lesson to learn, as well as having tangible impact on the original story. It's the benchmark from which all worlds should be based.

The most fun world is probably Toy Story in KHIII, but that's entirely down to gameplay.

That being said, when i was running my D&D game, i introduced a system based on D-Links. Where, essentially, if a player interacted with a character enough, then they formed a Destiny Link with them. This gave them a unique Key-Weapon based on their new friend, with a unique ability. Kinda like the weapon transformations in KHIII.

Examples:
*Darkwing Duck gave a Pistol that also allowed them to Misty Step twice a day with a flashy puff of smoke.
*Elsa gave a Dagger that dealt Cold damage, as well as protected them from the effects of Extreme Hot and Cold Weather while holding it.
*Beshte gave a hammer that doubled their ability to hold their breath and gave them advantage to resist Fear.
*Peter Pan gave them a Dagger that allowed them to cast Disguise Self once a day.

This incentivised the players to actually get involved in the story, rather than just sit back and go with the flow.

@King Kindred So, i do have to ask what is the exact story we've got going on with the origin of Keyblades and the whole Ansem and Nobodies thing. Primarily because i kinda want to start doing some set up for tying Leon's story into the wider narrative, but i also don't want to contradict anything later on down the line.

Pretty much, i kinda want to do the thing Nomura categorically refused to. Make sure there's consistency in the story being told.

I'm not sure what Dragon's original plans were, but I'm sure the origin of Keyblades stays the same with the X-Blade and Keyblade War, with each character having their own differing reasons for being able to wield one in the current timeline. As far as Ansem and the Nobodies go, most of the game's original Nobodies are being replaced with our own. But the events of Xehanort's betrayal happens years earlier and slower to match up with the ages of the cast. Essentially Ansem the Wise will be like our Hiruzen. Aware of things, but unsure of how to handle/stop it besides putting a band-aid on the problem.(Alias)

@King Kindred I have no idea what a Hiruzen is. So, what is Xehanort's motives in this? Is it one of his various, incomprehensible plans from the games (Creating his own Kingdom Hearts with Blackjack and Hookers, Starting a new Keyblade war for shits and giggles, ETC.) or is it something more straight forward?
