In the year 2014, an invading alien race seek to conquer the planet. This race, known as the Vitus, are a technologically advanced race of life that only seek strength through domination. They travel from planet to planet conquering the races that inhabit them, and enslaving them in the process.One of their favorite ways of doing this is by altering the certain members of their enemy species into their own personal weapons. Now that the Vitus set sights on earth, in the midst of the fighting they discover a curious difference in human DNA compared to the other of their conquests. Human's posses certain genetic variations that when altered unlock a latent ability in a person. The Vitus captured humans in force figuring they could use this new effect to create a new army of super powered soldiers. This process is very delicate some people aren't strong enough to keep up with their ability, others die from the forced evolution, and many more die during the procedure. The people who survive the process and obtain superpowers, are called Novas
You are one of the fortunate survivors of this procedure. For whatever reason you find yourself awake and aware, with an intense desire to seek out your freedom, and get some payback. Lucky for you the Vitus have pretty much armed you with the means to do it.
The RP follows a group of ordinary people captured by the Vitus, and are given extraordinary powers. The first part is the whole prison break, and escaping the ship the Vitus have them on. Afterwards they are recruited by the government to form a team dedicated to destroying the Vitus Invasion called the Supernovas

Name: Alphonse "Al" Mercer

Power: Fire- Al can produce, control, and manipulate fire. Most utilized by hitting through punches and shooting it.
Sub abilities:
Flight- Al has a certain degree of flight by using his flames to lift, and propel him.
Constructs- Al can construct things out of his flames like, weapons or animals. Most of which are for show. Except his trademark "Hellhound", A giant wolf made of fire that he uses when he goes all out.
Heat resistance/Body Temp control- Al is highly resistant to extreme high and low temperatures now. His enhanced body heat keeps him warm in even the coldest of climates, and feels regular in the heat
Heat Manipulation- Al can manipulate the temperature around himself in a short raidius, and can can only increase it.
Growth: White Flames- Al has the potential to burn his flames at such a high temperature that they turn white. These white flames are incredibly powerful, and destructive, but amplify his weaknesses and suffer a few of their own. Yet at the beginning he can't even produce flames of this caliber.
Weakness(es): Al can only produce fire in a place that has oxygen, since it requires it to burn. Worse however is that utilizing his flames in a closed off area too long can have him burn through the oxygen, which he suffers a lower tolerance for than most. He also can't produce any fire when in water, and even being covered in seems to drain him. He also has all your other natural weaknesses
Weapon(s): Desert Eagle when his powers aren’t an option.
Short bio: Al did not have an easy life growing up. He was raised in a broken household where both he and his mother and sister were prey for his abusive father. One day when he was in his early teens he snapped and beat the older man viciously, and threatened him to never come back. With him gone his family did much better, but Al was a much different person. From that day on Al became a much more direct person. He's also headstrong, reckless, and seeks to solve his problems by hitting them, and jumps into situations without thinking or without any knowledge of them what so ever.
