I already have an application, completed and about 7 or 8 pages' worth of writing ready to be copy/pasted/submitted for Henderson, Irenia, and the Cabal Debris Field, with some interaction and claim in secret of the Horus Gas Cloud, which was my original interest area.
Here it is.
Nation's Name: The Hel System Nation, HSN, or "Hessen/Hessians"
National Flag: A simple black background with a grey dot that takes up the center, with a red stipe on the top and bottom.
Location: The Cabal debris field, and Planet Henderson in the Hel System
Planetary Capital City: Henderson City
History: The HSN first came into existence around the time the first colony ships were setting out for distant planets. The founders of the HSN were people on two separate colony ships that were supposed to go to Henderson. One went to Henderson; the other stopped at what became known as the Cabal debris field. While Henderson was very rich in terms of environment and livability, the two ship captains decided to have one on the ground, as residential, and the other in space at the debris field, and make a much more worker-based floating asteroid city.
Government and politics:
-General description of Government and Politics-
The government works on a republic system, with a more socialist view. The people vote for representatives to serve on individual City, Region, Planet/Satellite/Station, and System Councils. The City Councils elect 3 individuals to represent them on the Region Councils, the Region Councils elect 3 representatives to the Planet/Satellite/Station Councils, and each of those elect 3 Representatives to the Hel System Council, which has 5 permanent, serving-for-life Council Members that make up the High Council. However, individual power among individuals is low. Law enforcement has a great deal more authority over their investigations and such, though there are rules in place that severely and harshly punish abusers, and even pays people who are investigated or searched should they not be a suspect or criminal. And the while, the government owns most everything except larger sub-corporations. Specialists are in place to ensure the most efficient and profitable production. There are 2 Advisors and 1 Minister from each branch of government, who accompany the 5 High Councilors to meetings that may concern them.
-Government Spending-
The HSN focuses more on construction and production. A majority of income is used for construction and production, with the next highest input for the military, then education, then everything else.
-Branches of government(If applicable)-
[MoD] Ministry of Defense
[MoP] Ministry of the People
[MoL] Ministry of Law
[MoFA] Ministry of Foreign Affairs
[MoO] Ministry of Offense
[MoC] Ministry of Construction
[MoS1] Ministry of Science
[MoS2] Ministry of Space
[MoA] Ministry of Aeronautics
[MoT] Ministry of Technology
-Description of Law Enforcement and Penal System-
Law Enforcement has greater resources than the modern-day US law enforcement. They have rights to search and investigate as they see fit, with strict guidelines about what they may and may not do. Informats and overseers ensure the security and safety of the people in the actions of the law enforcement to ensure that the abuse of power is never to happen, and if it is, it is punished very severely.
The first offense is, for minor criminalities, a warning or fine. The second is that of a larger fine and a short period of jail-time. Repeated offenses go steadily up, and if the usefulness of a citizen is not in proportion to their criminal record, they are executed. Prisons are far and few, and only used for the re-education of skilled and talented citizens, as well as prisoners of war, political, or something else that makes their lives more important than dead. Harsh, but so far has saved billions of currency from going down the drain.
-Foreign relations-
Generally friendly and open to any other nation, with free trade to all, and tourism runs thick in the Hessian cities. Beautiful landscape and ocean, combined with genetically-engineered creatures to enhance beauty, as well as create an ecosystem of larger creatures, has moved Henderson from a small-organism only ecosystem to a land abundant with beautiful cities, landscape, ocean, and creatures.
-Notable People concerning nation's Government and Politics-
The 5 Councilors:
Daren Craw
Darius Brasilia
Sandra Wicker
Richard Fortress
Hellen Berick
The top 4 most politically influential and wealthy people:
Richard Fortress
Sky Cassius
Dmitry Kenickshikov [One of the only pure-Russian families]
Allen Castel
Military:
-Coat of Arms(If applicable)- The same flag as the Nation's, except with straight-bladed double-edged swords through the circle in the flag, hilts on the upper side to create an X.
-Size of Military- 60 Million soldiers on active duty at all times performing everything from law enforcement to pirate hunting. Lower classes are required to have all men and women turned 22 to serve in the military for at least 1 year.
-Branches-
The Hessian Air Force [HAF] - Ground-based, these are the pilots and the like.
The Hessian Marines [HM] - The spaceborn infantry
The Hessian Aquatic Navy [HAN] - The on-planet navy
The Hessian Spaceborn Navy [HSN] - The in-space navy
The Office of Military Intelligence [OMI] - The 'spooks' of the military, these are the really smart guys who end up being spies, mission commanders, generals, spec-op operatives or controllers, and things like that.
The Office of Naval Intelligence [ONI] - The 'spooks' of the space-based military.
The Hessian Training District [HTD] - Everyone starts off here, and only a few stay here. Everyone needs to learn, and they start the basics here.
The Hessian Territorial Army [HTA] - The on-planet infantry, often known as the 'grunts,' but actually probably one of the most well-trained and elite groups of the Hessian military, excluding the OMI/ONI and special forces.
-Equipment-
Primarily rail-based weaponry. Rifles are basically miniature mass accelerators, and fire rounds at extraordinary speeds for great impact and damage, but low actual piercing and not as much room for customization. Long rifles fire supersonic rounds that have, due to round size and strength, actual piercing abilities. The basic standard issue anti-material rifle is very powerful, and the more specialized are even equipped to fire without oxygen with minimum recoil, allowing them to be used for in-space fighting. Grav-pads are common among larger inter-atmospheric ships, to dull the effects of gravity on the ship's weight, and is also used within all ships to create artificial gravity. Tanks usually have powerful railguns with even more range and damage, with either wheels or grav-pads. Floating tanks or wheeled tanks are the most common, while only the largest tanks use tracks, though with gravpad assistance. Orbital Defenses consist of supersonic cannons that, on the ground, are about the size of a skyscraper, while the orbit-based planetary defense stations are just the size of a large museum or building, with missile-based weapons to keep the station from getting knocked out of orbit. Every city has one Planetary Defense Mass Accelerator, and there are 16 defense stations in orbit around the planet. The Navy consists of several different types of ships: Minelayers, Minesweepers, Frigates, Destroyers, Frigates, Cruisers, Missile Cruisers, Submarine Cruiser, Submarine Missile Cruiser, Submarine Frigate, Battleships, and Aircraft carriers. Besides that, there are generic fishing ships, passenger ships, etc.
Spaceborn Navy anti-fighter turrets are essentially smart-targeting single-round turrets with shell sizes that would probably take out a fighter with one hit.
The spaceborn Navy is of the following:
3 different fighters for different purposes:
Recon,
Fighter,
and Bomber [Anti-capital ship]
3 different Corvettes for different purposes:
Anti-fighter [turrets],
Minelayer/sweeper [Cargo bay and special EMP weapons to deactivate mines],
and Torpedo Bomber [Anti-capital ship, very effective]
2 different Frigates [Small capital ships]:
Escort [Anti-capital ship torpedoes and anti-fighter turrets],
and Assault [Same as the other one, except with less torpeodes and more armor and turrets, with shuttles]
3 different Destroyers [Medium capital ships]:
Escort [2 forward Mass Accelerators, anti-fighter turrets, beefed-up engines],
Missile [4 nuclear missile silos, 20 anti-fighter/corvette missile turrets, 6 anti-capital heavy missile turrets],
and Assault [3 Mass Accelerators, 2 nuclear silos, minimal anti-fighter defenses, 3 anti-capital heavy missile turrets, speed and agility reduction]
3 different Cruisers [Medium/large capital ships]:
Missile [3 forward Mass Accelerators, 4 Mass Accelerator turrets, anti-fighter turrets, 7 nuclear missile silos, 30 anti-fighter/corvette missile turrets, 8 anti-capital heavy missile turrets]
General [5 forward Mass Accelerators, 5 Mass Accelerator turrets, anti-fighter turrets, 40 anti-fighter/corvette missile turrets, 10 anti-capital heavy missile turrets, 4 cargo/fighter bays]
Carrier [2 nuclear missile solos, 2 forward Mass Accelerators, 6 Mass Accelerator turrets, anti-fighter turrets, 60 anti-fighter/corvette missile turrets, 6 larger cargo/fighter bays]
4 different freighters:
General Freighter [Mainly cargo bays and fuel storage]
Bycorium Freighter [Half cargo bays, and then Bycorium/Fuel storage]
Munitions Freighter [All cargo bays and only small fuel/Bycorium storage]
Civilian Freighter [Passenger, to cargo, to Bycorium, to goods & merchandise.]
2 different extra ships:
Prison Ship [refitted General freighters to have independent storage units that contain prisoners. Each prisoner is in their own unit, and can be ejected into space or remotely shut off in case of them becoming too difficult or worthless.]
Colony/Mining ship [More utilitarian than other ships, for workers or colonists with enough cargo space to carry tools, equipment, etc., to asteroids, satellites, moons, or planets]
-Generalized description-
When it comes to military, they have only a few fleets, medium-sized, by no means the most powerful or the best, but enough to make an attacker reconsider and think about attacking the neighbors, rather than the Hel System. Dangerous, but not large enough to launch an attack and defend the homeland, but with enough production to keep an the military well supplied. The ground forces certainly aren't the best, but they're enough to give an enemy trouble.
Economy:
-GDP-
I would say that they are one of the wealthier nation groups, with mining in the Cabal debris field, on the planet Henderson, and with expeditions into the Horus
-National Currency-
The Hessian Dollar, which is equal to 2 UCS. To miners and other government basic production, like farming, mining, and the like, it's the Hessian Credit. The Hessian Dollar is for upper-class or the like, that keeps the economy flowing and allows more freedom.
The Hessian Credit is unable to be turned into Hessian Dollars or into UCS, but is worth approximately 4 UCS in government stores, where the Hessian Credit can be spent. The Hessian Credit can still get a great deal of items, including special-order things from government manufacturers, but also forces the labor force to be more dependent on the government, since the Hessian Credit can only be used by Hessian workers with their ID/credit card.
-Main Sources of Income-
Bycorium. With excessive mining into Henderson, Irenia, the Cabal debris field, and the secret, short expeditions into the Horus gas cloud, Bycorium is one of the most common things to find in the Hessian territory, even though prices are still high, they are competitively lower than they are from other suppliers.
Weapons & Ammunition. While being a peaceful state, the Hessians spend quite a lot of time into researching, developing, and building weapons, from planetary defense stations to custom personal sidearms for generals and the wealthy. While not being the most efficient, the Hessian weapons are often attractive in appearance, with an unique utilitarian appearance that radiates a deadly aura that often gives a wielder confidence. The recoil and power of the weapons that are present in all Hessian weapons is also something of a novelty, since most service rifles aren't usually so powerful, or long-ranged, though the rate of fire is low.
Tourism. With the engineered beauty of Henderson came people looking to enjoy it. Almost all creatures on the artificial land-masses and in the vast oceans of the world are relatively peaceful, usually made to try and see humans as friends and something to be left alone, and in the case of friendlier creatures, humans as creatures to befriend and play with. Floating resorts and cruise ships are popular and common on the calm seas.
-Trade Partners-
Anyone who has money and authentication for use. The Hessians will sell to anyone, but they'll only sell large quantities to those who can say they won't do bad with it, and that they won't turn it against the Hessians.
-Generalized description-
Rich off of Bycorium, tools, and tourism, as well as many other things that the Hessians will reveal, or keep secret, has kept the Hessians content. While being powerful in their own territory, they occasionally send volunteer and prisoners into the Horus gas cloud in secret to gather the large amounts of Bycorium there, though at a great cost sometimes. The Hessian government's use of two different currencies to keep their labor force under their thumb, and the even transfer number from UCS to Hessian Dollars makes it even easier for someone to ensure that they keep their money in check, without any of it slipping out of the radar and into a hacker's accounts. People like the Hessians for their planet and their deadly-attractive weapons, and don't try anything funny with the permanent watchful eye that keeps everyone in check and the public-known crime rates low.
Demographics:
-Population-
Easily 5 billion on the planet, with another 200 million in the Cabal debris field for work there, excluding military personnel
-Race and Ethnicity-
Poorer districts and cities use the English language, with Chinese for curses, private conversation, etc.
Middle-class districts use the English language with Latin for curses, private conversation, etc., and maybe a bit of Chinese here and there.
Upper-class districts use the English language for common or small talk, and Latin for more serious or important matters.
There are a few Russian family trees spread out throughout each of the cities, often times with direct connections into the militaries, and are nearly complete pure-Russians. Other than that, there is a mix of Caucasian, Chinese, and Italian.
-Languages-
English in general, Chinese for middle and lower class, and Latin for private or important conversation for upper class.
-Culture-
In the lower class districts, much more Chinese. Cushions and pads instead of chairs and stools, with short tables and the like.
In the middle class districts, more American. Apartments and stores fighting for space.
In the upper class districts, much more upper-class American. Great estates and beautiful manors that take up the highway-sides, with sprawling artificial landscape behind them, or in case of one of the floating cities, just a cruise ship or an airship.
Old Settlers day for when the city was founded, Old Colonists day for when the planet was colonized, Cabal Celebration for when the Cabal Debris Fields were successfully inhabited and settled. Various other smaller holidays for local heroes, or national heroes. Harvest Day for when the floating-farm harvest comes, or when the engineered fish begin breeding again and there are entire sections of ocean filled with jumping fish.
-Generalized description-
A large population on artificial landmass and floating cities alike, with many different government-supported and government-sponsored celebrations and traditions, some unspoken and automatic. The different classes have their differences, but there is little feeling of superiority over the inferiors except in the upper class of the upper class. Generally, contentment and pride all around for their nation, with everything that is at hand, and with various free activities and offers here and there from the government to keep everyone happy.
Other planetary information:
Henderson:
The planet has been changed to accommodate many other creatures, in 3 different ecosystem to create beautiful environments. The first ecosystem is in the oceans of the world, with the largest creatures. Whale-like creatures, giant sharks and thousands of other species that have both been engineered, and evolved. The second ecosystem is the smallest, on land. They are all usually the size of a horse or larger, though there are many smaller dog-like creatures as well. The third ecosystem is the highest atmosphere, where there is a whole new world. Large squid-like creatures that weigh less than ten pounds float and fly along, infinitely feeding on the small organisms that create food from cloud-water and abundant sunlight. Pterodactyl-like fliers roam the skies, with a very cat-like body and wide, long furry wings. Holding one would be like holding a great big fluffy ball of grey and white. They are high-fliers, though tame ones can land on the decks of airships. Airships are also popular among Henderson: The richer classes often pick living on an airship, infinitely in the sky and free to roam and travel as they please.
