Plot

Premise

BLACK LETTERS centers around an organization called the "Order in Black" whose "agents" are tasked with protecting humanity from the supernatural forces that plague the world. Armed with specialized equipment that can tap into their souls and bring out their "true power", the Order's agents are humanity's strongest weapons against the evils that lurk in the night. However, not just any average person can become an agent. An agent's soul must possess a substantial amount of untapped potential and, before they can become an agent, they must first receive a black letter.

When a mysterious and unusual string of deaths suddenly arise in their district, the agents of the Order in Black's Kaidan Branch are tasked with the investigation. Join the agents as they uncover the truth behind the unnatural deaths that may very well lead to the destruction of their beloved Order.

History

When a living being dies, whether it'd be an animal, plant, or human, their spirit vanishes with them, but, in some cases, the being's soul - the core of their spirit - continues to exist and binds the spirit to the material world. After a period of time, ranging from twenty-four hours to a week, the soul corrupts and changes the spirit into something sinister with the need to kill living beings in order to further extend its life. These supernatural creatures - the byproduct of the soul's corruption - are referred to by many names but one truth is clear about all of them: if left to roam free, they will prove to be the bane of all life including humanity.

Enter the Order in Black: an organization created for the sole purpose of protecting humanity by finding and destroying these supernatural beings. Established by a small group of "gifted" individuals in the late 5th Century, the Order in Black fought to ensure the survival of humans in secrecy. As the numbers of the supernatural beings grew more numerous, the Order sought out to find more individuals whom they deemed "gifted" - humans whose souls contain hidden powers. With the right equipment, their powers could be unlocked and used to destroy the supernatural beings. The Order did just that: created equipment that could tap into the soul's hidden potential.

Over a millennium, the Order in Black's numbers has grown exponentially and its influence has reached the farthest corners of the Earth. However, the Order's battle against the supernatural beings seems to have no end in sight. Fortunately, the battle is presently leaning in the Order's favor. Present-day Japan: in the metropolis of Kaidan, the Order in Black's Kaidan Branch has become one of the largest and most powerful of all the districts. Their headquarters is an enormous skyscraper located at the very heart of Kaidan's downtown sector. Its agents are among the best and brightest of the Order in Black.

As with all agents of the Order in Black, when a potential new agent is found, he or she is contacted by the organization using a black letter - an invitation of sorts in the form of a black-colored envelope stamped with the Order's seal in gold wax. Within the envelope is a letter containing an address and instructions. At the location written on the envelope, the potential new agent is contacted by several official agents who will then describe in detail the purpose of the Order and give the potential new agent the chance to join. If the answer is no, the agents will erase the memories of the person, but, if the answer is yes, the person is asked to burn the black letter.

The burning of the black letter will produce special blue flames that, once a potential new agent has stared into, will awaken the power of their soul. It is then that they are officially recruited by the Order in Black. Upon recruitment, the new agent must swear an oath of secrecy and is then given three pieces of equipment that will give them the ability to destroy supernatural beings. The first is a uniform - a black suit - that will release certain limitations of the human body. The second is a badge that is used to stabilize the soul's power during battle with supernatural beings. Finally, the third is a custom-crafted handgun that feeds off of the agent's soul in order to create ammunition that can injure supernatural beings.

But there is one more ability of the handgun and this ability can only be activated by one method: suicide. To be more accurate: a form of temporary death in which the agent becomes a spirit and their soul's true power is released in the form of a weapon with unique abilities. These specialized weapons are the true forms of agents' soul power. However, once the soul has been driven to near exhaustion, the agent is brought back to life and must have time to rest before they can enter this temporary death state once more. With all three pieces of equipment along with numerous other special tools provided by each branch's R&D department coupled with vigorous special training, the agents of the Order in Black are well-prepared to face any supernatural dangers.

Within the Kaidan Branch, the newest addition to the organization - a young man by the name of Kazuto "Kaz" Tokuro - has recently passed the exam qualifying him to be a full-fledged agent. This is the tale of Kaz and the other agents of the Order in Black's Kaidan Branch.

Appearance:

Kazuto, or as he prefers to be called Kaz, is a young man standing at a height of 170 cm (5'07") and weighing 63 kg (139 lbs). As seen from the above picture, Kaz has a light skin tone, medium-length red hair, and aqua-colored eyes. Since most of his time is occupied with school and the Order in Black, Kaz is primarily seen in his school uniform during the day and, at night, in the specially-made black suit provided to him by the organization. His suit consists of a black jacket worn unbuttoned and with the sleeves rolled up to his forearms, a white, buttoned dress shirt underneath, a black tie, black slacks, black buckled belt with a gun holster attachment, and, strangely enough, Kaz wears a pair of casual boots that is predominantly red and white in color along with white socks. Kaz also wears the bracelets pictured above while in his Order attire. Additionally, it should be noted that Kaz's gun holster is located on the right side of his belt while he clips his Order badge on the opposite side. Outside of school and work, Kaz is usually seen dressed in a red-and-white hoodie, black-colored long shorts, the red-and-white casual boots with white socks, and his bracelets.

Biography:

Kaz had a pretty normal childhood growing up in the countryside of Japan. He was your typical kid who was curious about the world. In fact, he was a bit of a troublemaker as well. His father worked as an electrician while his mother stayed at home to look after him and his older brother. Although Kaz's family certainly wasn't wealthy by any stretch of the word, they led a happy existence; that is until a month after Kaz's sixth birthday. Kaz's parents died in a car accident, leaving Kaz and his brother to the care of their grandparents. Kaz and Haru moved to Kaidan as a result.

Once Haru turned eighteen and secured a good job, he and Kaz moved to their own apartment and has been living there ever since. During Kaz's freshman year in high school, he received a strange letter in the mail one day - a black letter. Reading it, Kaz initially thought it was some kind of prank but the curious young man couldn't help but wanting to find out more. And so he went to the location specified in the letter. There he was soon greeted by three individuals dressed in black suits. What Kaz learned that day changed his entire perspective of the world.

After a period of time, Kaz returned to the agents with an answer to their recruitment: yes. As per the ritual, Kaz burned the black letter and awakened his soul's true power and, ever since then, has been training vigorously in order to become a full-fledged agent of the Order in Black. With his training finally complete after a grueling year-and-a-half, Kaz now joins the other agents of the Kaidan Branch out there in the city.

Gauntlets of Rebirth

Once Kaz has become a spirit after entering the temporary death state, his soul's true power manifests itself into a pair of fingerless, red-leather gloves with the tops of each glove adorned with a silver sun ornament. The ornaments have the capability to rapidly spin in such a fashion as to produce enormous amounts of heat and, with a long enough cycle, can produce flames. Both the heat and flames produced by these gloves - known officially as the Gauntlets of Rebirth - can be weaponized by Kaz to fight supernatural beings. Although the gauntlets can produce substantially high temperatures, it has no visible effects on Kaz. A major weakness of the Gauntlets of Rebirth is that it drains the soul faster than a majority of other Soul Weapons. This means that Kaz must be constantly monitoring how much power he is using or risks returning to life faster than normal. Furthermore, overusing the gauntlets can overheat Kaz which immobilizes him for a period of time after he returns to life. When Kaz's soul is pushed to near fatigue, the ornaments cease to spin and so no more heat and flames are produced; Kaz returns to life after that.

Techniques

• Propulsion Flames: Kaz can produce a powerful stream of heat and flames to propel him along the ground or in the air at an exceptional speed. While not primarily a means of attack, the heat produced can cause a severe burn when directed at a close target.


• Ignite Gloves: Kaz's simplest means of attack, this technique envelopes Kaz's hands in powerful flames in which he then utilizes with his hand-to-hand combat in order to damage a target substantially further than normal.


• Searing Buster: This technique combines both the Propulsion Flames and the Ignite Gloves technique. First, Kaz launches himself into the air with the Propulsion Flames. Then, he uses the Ignite Gloves to envelope his right fist in flames and, upon contact with the target, produces a large, circular explosion of flames.


• Asura: One of the Gauntlets of Rebirth signature techniques, Asura allows Kaz to instantly evaporate various forms of liquid through a variety of methods. Physical contact such as a punch is a common method but Kaz can also use Asura through methods without physical contact as well such as blasting a target with heat or producing small fireballs that can be projected towards the target. Targets with liquid inside them are "cooked" from the inside out or, to a less extreme degree, suffer internal burn injuries. Liquid covering the exterior of a target vaporizes and burns the target severely. Targets that are complete void of liquid are unaffected. Although this technique is powerful, Kaz can only realistically use a portion of its full power or risk damaging his soul and physical body.


• Sun Bomb: With this technique, Kaz raises both fists into the air and produces a huge ball of flames; this step of the technique requires some time to fully produce the fireball. After the fireball is fully formed, Kaz slams it into the target which creates a huge of pillar of flames. The flames are powerful enough to fully incinerate weak enemies and critically damages stronger foes. This technique automatically returns Kaz to life after its usage.


• Deva: One of the Gauntlets of Rebirth signature techniques, Deva allows Kaz to produce white-colored flames. These flames are non-damaging and are constantly at room temperature. When used on a target, these flames will heal their injuries and grants them a temporary boost in power. Kaz cannot constantly use this technique as it draws a huge amount of power from his soul.

Personality: You cannot describe her as serious, neither as lively, she is just kinda bored all the time. Her expression when not doing anything is always the same and it becomes rather hard for people to read her emotions based solely on her facial expressions. When she is talking with someone or doing something, her expressions suffer really light changes, faint smiles or saddened looks, accompanied with few changes on her tone of voice, only few people are able to decipher what she is really feeling at determined time, because they have known her for quite some time now or they are just really good at reading people.

As well as being like this, she is also quite lazy for whatever comes across her path. One of her mottos in life is ‘If you can do something about it, then why bother? And if you can’t, then why bother?’ She thinks not much may be worth her time and what indeed is, then she’ll pay full attention, though noting when she does pay attention may be as hard as solving a rubik’s cube. Even if she is like this, it must be noted that she is also very intelligent and that’s why she believes not many things are worth her time. However, anime, manga and videogames (Mostly otome and shooter games) are the only things that can change her expression rather radically. While watching, reading or playing one of the aforementioned things, you may see her laughing lively, crying uncontrollably or feeling love-struck to the point of hugging her computer or mobile device she is using.

Biography

She was born to an average family in where most, if not all, of her family members were mediocre, good for nothing people who had finished just high school and then started working somewhere (As she describes them). Not even one of them was able to finish University, nor did they try since most of them started working immediately after leaving high school. Now, don’t get her wrong, her life wasn’t and currently isn’t full of shortcomings and poverty, her life is just that, average. Her family can’t afford a big house, but they live in a somewhat big apartment with enough rooms for them to have a guest room, as well as the basic services (including internet).

One day of summer break, after she had just graduated from high school, when she just finished a rather good anime with lots of flashy scenes with superpowers, her letter arrived and thinking it would be fun to have some kind of thrill in her life, she decided to follow the instructions, even if they seemed kind of ridiculous. She didn’t quite expect that the Order in Black was something real at all, but she still received the challenge with open arms.

Soul Weapon: Dual Bullet Symphonia

A pair of automatic pistols that are to be used both at once, since their power will (obviously) be halved when not used at the same time, e.g. Only using one gun and shooting will only make half the damage that same gun does when holding both weapons.

• Cross Bullet: Shooting with both guns at the same time, the two bullets will become a cross that advances horizontally to its target. It is just 10 cm taller than Moeka herself.


• Bullet Symphonia: Using both weapons in a rapid succession, Moeka is able to pierce through most of opponents. When using this, every time Moeka shoots will make it seem as if she were playing a song, hence its name.

Appearance

Naoto's a young man with a very thin body and a height of 179cm/5'10". Naturally, he doesn't weigh all that much being at approximate 55kg/121lbs and retains a light skin complexion with relatively short, purplish-blue hair that matches his eyes. He's rarely seen outside of his blackish-blue gakuran or white undershirt. This extends even to his work with the Order, as his suit is modelled after the clothing choice in question, though with a different looking collar, one with a white trim rather than the traditional solid color scheme. His badge is worn on top of his armband labeling him as Vice-Captain of the Archery Club.

Biography

Naoto was born and raised as a native of Kaidan. His father was the head of Kaidan Shrine, a mountain temple-shrine located on the outskirts of Kaidan. As a child, Naoto was rather timid and could never own up to his mistakes. He would blame it on a visitor, an animal, his siblings, always someone else, but he always felt bad about it. He really wanted to tell the truth and attempted to do so when his timid, juvenile self would allow him to. And he got better about it as time went on, going from a timid, dishonest kid to a confident and honest one.

Then his dad died and his mother became too busy between managing the shrine and taking care of him and his siblings. With the two people who made him feel bad for lying, and who always told him to be honest and true to himself, gone, there was no longer anything keeping his lying in check. No reason to not lie. This, compounded with several other factors, finally drove Naoto into downward spiral back to his old ways.

After that, he never felt guilty for his dishonesty ever again. In fact, he embraced it despite getting beat up every other day for some comment he'd make to the wrong person, but that was fine with him, at least he wasn't getting beat up for telling people the brutal truth like before. Naoto actually managed to live rather normally, behavioral issues aside. He managed to temporarily seize control of the Archery Club, but was demoted to Vice-Captain despite his skill after being declared unfit for that particular duty, for obvious reasons.

Naoto received his black letter at unusual age 12, during the middle of his 1st year of junior high school. Naturally being as young as he was, he had to try it out to see if it was legit or not. He followed the odd, shady instructions to the city's industrial district, and set his letter ablaze. His training was unusually long, though given his unusual youth it should have been a given, and eventually became a full-fledged member of the Order in Black at 16.

Details

Soul Power - If there's one thing Naoto has going for him other than his ability to use his head, it's the sheer amount of energy reserves his soul can burn off without keeping him out of the fight. Unfortunately his badge somewhat restricts his ability to go all out like he would likely do if given the chance.
Guile - A danger-avoidance, 'combat logic' skill that uses knowledge of a scenario as the basis to predict the opponent’s activity and change the current situation. The ability to read attacks and counterattacks several moves ahead to make split-second plans in order to prolong his own survival or manipulate situations using underhanded means.
Unpredictability - Some have strength, some have speed, and some think so differently that attempting to guess their next move or tactics doesn't work out very well.
Accuracy - He's the Vice-Captain of the Archery Club. I'd hate to wonder what the Archery Club would be like if he wasn't an accurate shot.
Endurance - Different from durability, this is his ability to withstand pain. Due to his constant beatings at the hands of his peers, Naoto has built up a rather substantial pain tolerance. However, this is a double-edged sword, as you will later see.

Details

Strength - Contrary to what media says, muscles are not meaningless. Naturally, this means with a build like his, Naoto is pathetically strong.
Durability - Like the above, but not pathetic, just very mediocre.
Trustworthiness - Would you trust the compulsive liar even if he's promising he's telling the truth? This makes him a liability when it comes to working with information, as well as general group work, among other things.
Recklessness - The other side of his 'Endurance'. Because he can withstand pain, Naoto rarely pays any thought to potential dangers and doesn't know when to hold and when to fold.

Reality Matrix:「The False Witness」


An unusual Soul Weapon in the form of two sigils (as depicted in the lower left of the image above). A sigil allows the user to manifest a ring (smaller than seen in the image) that expands into orb roughly to the size of a track and field shot anywhere within 1 meter of the user. The orb can then generate the 'head' of any weapon of any size or shape from it, whether that be a conventional spear head, an oddly shaped sword blade, or a war-hammer head. So on, so forth, though it can only generate one 'head' per orb. Despite seeming quite a complex process, the whole thing takes mere seconds to complete, assuming Naoto knows what weapon he's planning on using. In the case of the user not knowing what 'head' to create, it just remains an orb.

After creation, the orbs can be used to attack in two ways: 1) as melee weapons by using the orbs as hilts, or 2) as subsonic ranged weapons by firing the orbs as bullets or as sports balls, depending on preference. When not being used, they can be held in hand or float anywhere within the meter where the creation sigils can be manifested. One can also store and release soul energy within them, but Naoto can only do this to six pairs before losing his energy and going back to reality. The storing of soul energy takes about 5-10 seconds, depending on how much power needs to be packed in. Incidentally, orbs that haven't been detonated or destroyed remain in the world for as long as their creator is active, but are no longer under Naoto's control.

Strengths and Weaknesses
+Multiple Ranges - Can be fired for long range attacks or used in melee with the orbs as handles, though much less effective at close range

Background

May is the daughter of two agents of the Order in Black and the younger sister of an agent. Her brother was 22 when she was born and was already fighting in the Order. May grew up not knowing anything about supernaturals until her mother and brother gave their lives to protect a 10 year old May. Luckily her father arrived in time to kill the supernatural that killed her mother and brother and was going to also kill her. Then she was told about the Order and was told that when she turned 16 she would be welcomed into the agency. Until then she took up self-defense, karate, and different fighting classes along with her classes for fun that were dancing, singing, and acting. Not only was she a talented fighter for her age, although she had a lot of improvement room, she also was a talented actor, singer, and dancer although she favored dancing but she put all of them to work on missions to lure out supernaturals. Three years have passed and May is still in the Order and tends to stay that way as her father is now 66 and is retired from the order because he is to weak to fight anymore and she needs to help him the best she can.

Purple Shadow

The Purple Shadow is a scythe that is about 6ft in length. The blade itself has a width of 1 ft and a 4 ft length. The scythe has purple designs on it and gives off a purple glow and seems to have purple shadow tendrils around it. The scythe can be used as a normal scythe or you can attack with the shadows from a distance like they are an extension of the scythe. The shadows do more damage but the shadows will also use up the soul a lot quicker so you must use it in moderation. The shadows can also grow and over take the blade creating a very powerful attack called 'The Hunter' in which along with the shadows attacking a blast is shot out when the blade makes contact with something and in the blast are 'shards' of shadows that will pierce anything in front of where the hit is that is inanimate or evil

Koundou Kazuko appears as a young girl who has long pink hair, short in the back and has three braids on her fringe, and pink eyes. She also wears a blue hat with a design on it that has golden wings, two long red veils and a white Chinese-like dress with a pair of shorts. She also wears two golden bracelets, each with a beautiful blue jewel.

Biography:

In her past, Kondou's father argued with her mother that he wanted a baby boy. Her mother gave up and decided to enroll Kondou as a boy to school. At that time she didn't understand what was going on but she didn't bother asking her parents. She was never like the other girls. Kondou didn't care as long as she had her best friends, which were the boys in her class. They defended her all the way through 5th grade. During the time in Fifth grade she noticed her body changing. She was a girl. Not a boy. Later on that day she decided to ask her mother once and for all. On the walk home she noticed Policemen surrounding her house from a far. She dashed towards them scared and nervous. She pushed her tiny little body through as she saw her mother dramatically fall to the floor crying. She ran over to her quickly staring down at her as her tiny body shook.

"What happened?" She asked carelessly as she knelt down and rubbed her mothers back.

Her mother explained to her that her father was in a car accident. It was hard for Kondou to understand because of her mothers pauses but she added the pieces together. Later on the evening they cried all night long, praying and hugging onto their small little dog. One day she came from school and her mother showed her this black letter suspecting that it was for Kondou. Kondou ran up to her room tearing the letter apart and trying to process what was going on. Her eyes slowly followed the words on the wrinkled paper. A smile grew on her face as she followed the directions. Hoping this would change her life once and for all.

Kondou is able to do hand to hand combat, she finds it entertaining. She's a fast runner and is able to run away if shes in a dangerous situation, although she doesn't like the idea she still has to obey orders.

No matter how well she is in Hand to hand combat she's horrible when it comes to long-distance. Surprisingly, she is still given a gun where she mostly misses her aim.

Soul Weapon Kali-Yuga

Kondou's weapon is named after the apocalyptic demon named Kali. This demon is most attributed with the last four stages that the world goes through as part of a cycle in the Indian Scriptures. Kali-Yuga has the power to absorb any type of energy, be it good or evil and gives Kondou these abilities:

Kondou's Dance:
She's able to knock her enemy into the air with her weapon, delivering a midair kick and striking them down with her rod.

Evil seed:
With this move, Kondou is able to produce a small spirit/energy bomb and plant it whichever location she wishes to. Basically, she's able to concentrate a small amount of energy at the tip of her Kali-Yuga and leaves it in places where her opponent lands on, hence activating it. It has a small a range but it is still pretty effective if it is met head on.

Extensor:
This ability allows Kondou to change the length and size of her weapon. Kali-Yuga is capable of growing and extending to undefined sizes and lengths. Although this affects its weight, this does not affect Kondou at all.

Biography:

Born to James Grey and Madison Grey, Th ere wasn’t much to expect in the future. He was born in a normal household to parents that were well off than most. His early years were dull and uneventful, a “normal” life in the United States. But in his teenager years, his family life was about to change dramatically.

His father was arrested for murdering his business associate, which led to an investigation of what exactly his business was about- which was money laundering. Peterson’s father then was sentenced to life. The Grey’s family bank accounts were wiped following the revelation of James Grey’s profession. His mother, unable to take the pressure of supporting her biological and adopted children, attempted to force her adopted daughter out, who she deemed unimportant.
Unfortunately, when Anders’s sister left the house, he did so as well. His mother, distraught over losing her only child, attempted suicide. She is now under watch at a mental hospital at all times.

Anders took a part time job hoping to provide a home for both him and his sister, and studied vigorously. But it was all in vain, as his sister died after too many shelterless nights in the cold. Anders begrudgingly moved on, taking his sister’s old fashioned pocket watch as a reminder of this failure.

Studying psychology at a regular university, he received a black letter. At first, he assumed it was some kind of strange fanclub and dismissed it at first. But he had nothing to lose, so he followed the instructions.

Some years later, he became an Agent of the Order of Black- He soon moved from America to Japan since he was assigned to the Kaidan branch. Anders has around two to three years of experience as an Agent, and continues to do serve.

Anders has a large tattoo on his back that grants him superhuman powers, which are listed below.
Optical Camouflage: Can become almost invisible, rendering himself almost naked to the human eye.

Inhuman Reflexes: Can strike at an extremely fast reflex time, and it may seem that he is going fast, but he is merely reacting faster than the human brain can recognize.

Bone Protrusion: Can extend his bone to make basic weapons, ex.wrist blade of sorts, and can be used to maim/stab.

Dermal Protection: Can harden an area of his body to make it resistant to attack.

Illusion Spawning: Can create illusions of himself in order to confuse or attack an enemy. He can also switch places with an illusion if need be, but he can only control a certain amount of illusions and has to be close enough or they disappear.

Biography

Akihara always lived with his father and his older brother Ryuji when young. However, he never knew his mother, and when he was a child, he was hated by the entire family, since they had preferred Ryuji over him. That made him lose all of his happy emotions, leaving him with only despair and sadness. After some time, his father told them about his work at the Order of Black, as he carried the Black Bane, his Soul Weapon that was passed from generation, thus affirming that Ryuji would hold onto it, leading Akihara to see himself as a total failure.

When his father died, both Ryuji and Akihara received a letter to take his place in the Order of Black. He was 10 when he received the letter. Ryuji accepted right away, but Akihara waited 7 years to accept the fate to becoma a part of the Order in the place of his father. He always showed excellence at his training, however never admitted his own exceptional skills at tactics and other intellectual things, always affirming that all was for luck.

Deck of the Trickster Devil

A deck made of cards filled with the curses of humanity. Under the orders of those who wield them, they will lead a desired person to be cursed by the words contained in each of those cards. They can be useful to break the minds of opponents or lead them into despair, which will weaken them and reduce their proficiency at battles. In order to use them, Akihara declares the card (Words of Vanity, for example) and then he will enclose himself and his opponent(s) into a mysterious space, where he will talk with his opponent's mind until the curse is done. It will last for five minutes and after that, the cursed loses conciousness for a short while. The cards itself return once they are used, and can be used like knives. However, Akihara needs to use some of his life energy to curse people, which means the more life is spent, the more strongeris the curse. Also, it isn't 100% of chance that the opponent will be cursed and is has the probability that Akihara may lose control of the curse and create an embodiment that will execute this curse on him, his opponent and in his allies, if freed from the spcae.
Also, those cards possess dark magic inside of them. The black magic possessed in those cards are powerful energy that can be used in a Dark Art or an act of Necromancy, such as summoning creatures from the dead, as an example. However, as a backfire, this magic will cost a portion of the user's life energy.

Appearance

Kiri is often called shiro-chan or ochibi due to her unique features. Her long, wavy white hair has earned her quite the reputation. As unnatural as it seems, that's her natural hair color. Aside from her outlandish hair, Kiri is an extremely short girl measuring only to 150cm tall(4'11") and has the face of a baby. Thus, Kiri is often mistaken for a middle schooler.

Her eyes, often seem too big for her face, are a light greyish hazel. Kiri has a simple fashion sense, often wearing the first thing she gets her hands on. Sometimes it's a summer dress or an oversized t-shirt. However, the majority of her clothes are light, pastel colors.

Biography

Kiri went through a bumpy childhood. Her biological parents were always getting into petty fights, arguments and discussions and never bothered to hide their distaste for each other. They claimed that they were trying to patch up their relationship for Kiri, but each had a lover on the side. And as was obvious, they couldn't keep the facade any longer. Mieko, Kiri's mother, left with her lover, leaving behind the divorce papers.

Unfortunately, the only one glad of the outcome was Kiri's father who immediately decided to marry his side lover and they got themselves a house. Kiri, of course, wasn't allowed in her father's "second chance" at love so he bought her an apartment and took care of the rent expenses.

So, Kiri, a young teen at the time had to live through high school all by herself. The only thing that bought her comfort was volunteering at the animal shelter. On her senior year of high school, she chose not to pursue any higher education and instead got herself a job at the animal shelter. She's been working there ever since.

Kiri received her black letter around the time she finished her last year of high school, blindly following it's instructions. After all, she had no true friends, no true family and whole deal of time on her hands to spare.

Kiri has always had amazing accuracy; it's rare for her to miss a shot. She's quick on her feet and specially good at hiding.

Kiri has a pair of goggles that she tends to use only as a last result due to the fact that depending on her use, its a huge burden on her eyes. Her gift allows her to use these goggles to enhance her accuracy when taking a shot. They allow her the ability to do the following:

Distant Flicker: With this ability she's able to spot a target from miles away, be it moving or stationary. Once she's spotted the target, she never misses it. It's her most powerful ability, so it requires a huge amount of energy and endurance. Thus, Kiri rarely uses this.

Night vision: Just as the name implies, with this ability she is able to see in the dark. That's all there is to it.

Eagle Eye: Her field of vision is enhanced on whichever areas she wishes. Makes it easier for her to tell the distance between herself and the opponent. Quickly adjusts to her surroundings and the movements of her opponent so that she's able to maintain sharp focus and accurate perception even if she's on the move.

Nytem4re, there are three issues that need fixing: the picture for your character's appearance is broken, provide an explanation as to why your character has a rifle instead of a handgun, and the Optical Camouflage needs to have a time limit or something similar.

MagusDream, it seems the "Other Tool(s)" part of the CS is the only thing you need. However, I would like for you to go in more detail about how the curses work and what sort of black magic can the cards produce.

Equipped with a power meter it is easy to monitor her ability to use the weapon at a glance

This power cause Saya's physical speed to increase five fold the affect visible because she seems to become blurry even standing still. Using Amp Saya can cover 100 meters in 3 seconds over flat terrain

Cookie Cutter
Activating this ability allows Saya to strafe a large area even if there are friends present because it interrupts her weapon's cyclic rate momentarily so she strikes no allies

Swarm Shield
Using this power her fire power becomes a large area shield that intercepts incoming attacks her weapon hand blurring as it adjusts fire. This defense is only usable to protect herself and only from facing and side attacks

Clone Weapon
Expending half of her remaining spirit energy Saya creates an identical weapon in her off hand. This is usually a prelude to her ultimate power Metal Storm that requires two weapons to function

Metal Storm
Her ultimate power at this point of her growth Metal Storm is a power intensive vengeance strike that strikes out in every direction.
Once activated it cannot be stopped even by Saya herself. She begins by lifting her arms to the sides her body forming a cross. Once her stance is locked she begins to spin so fast she resembles a shadowy blur as she drifts about 6 feet into the air. As the Storm begins there is a brief high pitched hum then she begins firing an enormous volume of fire which nothing out in the open can avoid being struck several times or shredded
The storm lasts only 3 seconds from stance to finish and leave Saya helpless as she falls unconscious to the ground and requires a long rest to recover from
