We live in a world that is soaked with elements that transcend the power of earth's standards by quite a lot. There are things on Aeros that we (as humans) can't imagine or fathom within the confines of our organic cognition. Considering the fact that I've established the presence and dominance of third tier elements within our plane, I'm going to have to state that diamond dust won't be the most powerful weapon available. I understand your character lacks a kage, and thus, you deserve more power from external sources, but skill in swordplay is much more of a fair choice than swinging around god's dick.

Keep it moderated, and you fine, tho. No worries. HUAAAAAAAAAAA!

Didn't play the game, but it says Attack on Titan, so it automatically gets a thumbs up.

And Gamer, It's not so much about repeated edits to make a sample better, but being able to consistently provide quality posts. A sample should give a good indication of your general writing capability, not your best after several edits. We don't expect perfection, just something that isn't a chore to read.\

BTW. Skai said yes via PM.

Also Zephyr I do not know which CS did you refer all time since I made regular changes to the one on the Character Sheet Thread. I was wondering if your opinion is about my original CS or the latest version of the one in the CS Thread. Just curious.

As for your comment BB.

1. I work under assumption that such technologies (railguns and lasers) or similar enough ones have been developed in this setting, which is more technologically advanced then Earth, for civilian needs like magnetically accelerated elevators, laser-driven fusion reactors and so on.

The amount of inventions (by inventions I mean patents) one person on or a team makes varies greatly. Sometimes one team can make tens of patents in a single year while the next year they will make none. Accidental inspirations and breakthroughs are also possible, for example penicillin was found by pure confidence. Also a team working on multiple projects is also not uncommon.

MEAR was primarily used well established technologies in uncommon uses (like for example a laser used like a Personal Defense Weapon) so their primary problems were how to make reliable, effective and adequately well designed inventions which cloud be sold to potential customers. That is why they were made out of 3 engineers/mechanics and a designer. That means that in the 5-6 years of it's existed it cloud have, being realistic, made anywhere between 5 and 50 patents on its own.

2. Blaze's Light Core creates the laser DIRECTLY which results in a quite small heat strain on the gun itself (since the beam doesn't touch any part of the gun). On the other hand this makes the beam unfocused and ineffective against armored targets. This was in mind since the Blaze was meant to be a Personal Defense Weapon as well as an emergency tool to clean vegetation or light fires. If it were to be focused then the heat strain would be large and would require a cooling system but would be able to cut trough most materials with ease. As it is currently the Blaze is not strong enough to quickly melt away thicker iron plating, not to talk about steel; actually an enough big and thick iron plate with air cooling would be able to stop Blaze from affecting it at all.

3. Diamond-tipped drills and blades are some of the strongest tools widely in commercial use and are used in a variety of forms, from small drills/blades used to cut trough hard rock or metals, over large diamond-tipped blades used to cut some of the sturdiest rocks know to man to the deep-mining diamond-tipped drills which can reach well into depths of over 10 kilometers into the Earth. Diamond is the sturdiest naturally occurring mineral and a stream of diamond dust at a speed of around 100 km/h would be one of the best weapon/tools that you cloud wish for (note that at 100 km/h even the quite fragile CD can easily cut trough a human neck). Also it forms an arch so your statement about its con is not entirely true.

If you post like this regularly, I'm all for accepting you. However on point #2 some part of the gun would need to make the light core focus, since it's a "Light core" that predictably projects "light". What would make all the Light go in one direction in a focused beam (VERY focused in order to make it effective).

Not totally sure I agree with this, since this is a story, not just a written battle royale of powerful characters. There will be plenty of enemies along the way that aren't OP kage hosts requiring special weapons to fight. Sometimes out-thinking an opponent is better than overpowering them, and sometimes surviving is a victory of it's own. I do agree with the "god's dick" comment though: an idiot with a gun is still an idiot, no matter how big or fancy the gun.

Here are some things to point out about hosts as well.

A host is not neccessarily physically stronger than any other human, nor do they necessarily have quick reaction speeds. Not only that, but hosts require a significant sum of energy to use their abilities, and can run out of this energy rather quickly.

As a result, if a normal human is smart, overcoming a host is not all together that difficult. Really it would be a battle of stamina; IE: how long can the host use its abilities vs how long the human can avoid them. Once the human has exhausted the hosts power The host is nothing more than a human with a voice in his/her head. Now if we take into account that your character, from what I have heard, is rather intelligent, intuitive, and inventive. I would see her being able to successfully spar with a host quite efficiently.

@Gamer. 1. That is a very fair and reasonable point. (I never complained about the railgun because their functioning is very simple. You just run a current through two parallel beams with your metal shell between them, and because of a quirk of magnetism, the right hand rule, the shell is pushed along the rails.)

2. That would make Blaze a super-charged torch, not an actual laser (Light Amplification and Stimulated Emission of Radiation). That is not a problem in itself, but it has some implications. Light Cores are used in facilities such as light bulbs, which emit light in all directions and of a wide range of wavelengths. The strength of a laser comes from the uniformity of the photons it produces, because the identical wavelength and same polarity of all the photons means that as a whole they have constructive interference (the wave amplitudes add up, making more power). In real life this uniformity is done by exciting gas atoms in a chamber, using electricity, not light. As is the nature of excited atoms, they only emit specific wavelengths. The chamber contains two parallel mirrors, and the photons bounce between them, getting absorbed then emitted by the gas atoms until very quickly they all become uniform. Photons going in a direction other than directly between the two mirrors are either absorbed or redirected, making the laser a straight beam. One of the two mirrors is only half-silvered, so some of the photons go through it instead of bouncing back. This is the beam, and beams produced this way are at present the most effective way to create high-intensity light. Filtering the light to create uniformity will be much less effective since instead of transforming photons you're just removing them. The cooling is necessary to prevent the two mirrors and the rest of the chamber from melting, and typically cooling requires twenty times more energy than the laser itself.

Given that light cores are magical, I will concede that if you found a high-quality light core you could make it emit uniform light, and given enough power it could be strong enough to perform your task. However, directing it into a single beam would still require something, like mirrors. Those mirrors, even if you don't have something that cuts through metal, would still need cooling to prevent them from deforming. Even if you could make it work exactly how you want, where the beam doesn't need to touch anything, radiant heat would still necessitate cooling. Your pseudo-laser isn't an impossible device, you just need to recognise that it will get hot as that is the nature of such devices.

3. I am aware that diamond-tipped tools are the strongest around. I am also aware that if something is travelling fast enough it will cause significant damage. However, you are using grains of diamond. These grains are small and have a minuscule mass, so even at 100km/h or higher they have a very small momentum. They have nothing behind them holding them in place to prevent them from simply bouncing off hard surfaces other than magic. Yes, you could cut through a neck with it, but metal or stone is a whole different story. Each diamond grain won't slice right through a rock or metal sheet- it would make a small chip and bounce off, exiting the beam of control and presenting a significant hazard to the user, or it could stick in the object being cut and likewise be lost to the machine. This means you'll quickly run out of diamond dust either way. High-speed streams of grains are used in sand-blasters, and they act like sandpaper, not saws. Really, it would probably be cheaper to use sand instead of diamond dust, as if you expend diamond dust every time you cut through something expenses would be very high, and sand is still hard. And before you say anything about re-collecting lost diamond dust, kinetic cores have no way of distinguishing between diamond dust and any other dust.

Of course, you could always say 'this is science-fiction so it works by advanced technology' and 'this is fantasy so it works by magic'. That explains away how a device can work when its functioning would otherwise be inconceivable. But it doesn't explain away how it overcomes practicality issues when its functioning is known. As a last resort, you could invoke 'suspension of disbelief'. It means unbelievable things remain, but it allows very interesting albeit impossible things to exist.

Of course, it would be very difficult to make a case for how such a thing could actually be practical. I think it may be easiest to just say that it works successfully because it does and we can leave it at that.

That means you can get to posting. Our activity has been slowing down, so we would all be pleased to have you join the action.
