@ Nytefall Yes, she's an adept, I'll add that to her CS. Ahahah, yeah, maybe causing a stampede in the centre of London isn't the best idea... x3 But maybe somewhere outside of centre it might be helpful... . w . I think Nora is more of a supporting character in battles. Like, she could call other animals for help or she could serve as a way of transportation and could quickly get someone away it they're wounded or in danger or whatever.
(Also, a late sorry for assuming you were a girl... x3)

We need to establish the posting method before anything. Here are some methods I can think of:

- The person who wants to post can reserve the next post so that they have time to create one without worrying about someone posting before them. You cannot post twice in a row. Failing to comply means your second post is ignored in the story-line. Possible request for deletion.
- A posting order gets established, where everyone takes a turn to post. If you believe you have something crucial to post before your turn, or you have a direction to take the story, then contacting the next poster and GM through a joint pm can sort it out. Additionally, people who are working together or in some way involved as a group for an amount of time would have their posting order changed to be next to each other. They could then sort out how their story would progress together through pm's.
- Everyone posts whenever. Much disorder, but kinda fun. Ultimately though, there'll be a lot of cases where people are upset that the post they were going to make has to be scrapped.

Is there a better method then any of these? I'm pretty new to roleplay as a genre so I'm not sure if their is already an established way or what.

Whatever we decide for posting, please god not "everyone posts whenever." This site doesn't seem to have TOO bad of a case of speed posters even if we did that, but I was once on a forum where it was literally a new post every five seconds. It was awful. Your posts would become irrelevant or look bad because in the time it took you to type, one or two posts would be thrown in that you hadn't seen and make you look dumb, and before you could delete or edit it, they'd post AGAIN, locking you into whatever had happened.

I lost sleep cuz they never went to bed/timezones... and I didn't want to be left behind.

So yeah, since posting has been brought up, I just wanted to say, let's not do THAT^!

I like idea #2. Rather than a totally firm post order though, just let it be for every "room," everyone in that room has to post once before the first person in the room to post can post again. That way people aren't waiting on other players who aren't even near them. Just let it be fluid and let us keep track of who is where and whatnot. I think that's kinda what you already said, but I wanted to give my take on it.

If we want a group to wait so someone else can enter their "room," we can make a post in the OOC or something and ask them to hold up for a bit. So everyone would just have to keep an eye on the OOC.

Seems like a good idea! This way it's ordered and everyone gets involved.
I'm definitely a fan of 'everyone posts once per round' rather than 'everyone posts whenever'. Not only because posts and posting may get disordered if everyone posts whenever, but also because then there may be a few players who keep thinking "Eh, I'll post soon... Probably..." and then never or rarely post. The round or room system kind of "forces" - but in a good way - players to write and interact with each other.

EH, I'll have to disagree with you guys there. I've seen some good RP's go down in flames because of a so called 'posting order'. I'm not sure I totally understand your idea though, Killa.

It doesn't force anyone to post. People who won't post won't post. A posting order isn't going to change that. They'll just not post sooner. If you have a problem with people not posting, you either tell them to post, or they get booted.

Hmmm I am back after a short leave of absence. had some IRL stuff that had to be dealt with than had to recover from it but I am here and my full attention is dedciated to this rp once again. As for posting order Everyone posting at once seems the tried, tested and successful method. however if it proves to be uneffective I will go to an ordered post system. This would work simply by going with the order that people's characters were accepted. which is on the frontpage.

I'm fine with either method really. I've been on this site for a few years now and in every rp I've been in there hasn't been a problem with people posting too quickly (if anything the opposite), so everyone posting when they can shouldn't be a problem unless one of us has way too much time on their hands. Personally, the only rp I've been in when we had to actually worry about posting order and timezones was a tabletop rp with dice rolling mechanics. I don't think there's too much to worry about since things usually end up being fluid most of the time, and if someone gets left behind in the dust and doesn't post for weeks then they probably weren't going to post for weeks anyway. Besides, if there is a problem, we can easily adapt and adjust.

And can I just say that I think we've got a good range of characters here? And a good amount too, it's enough that if a few people drop out we'll still be good to go.

Uraziel/Damian stands at around 6 feet 1”, with an athletic, honed body that shows clear signs of regular physical exercise. His skin is painted in a balance of white and tanned ; his skin isn't completely honey toned, but he isn't white either - he has clearly seen his share of the sun-light upon his body. His hair is brown, medium short with spikes forming towards the back of his head, while a few bangs encompass his sharp-featured face. His eyes have an ice-cold stare while holding an interesting mix of amber and red that almost shines with a mystic light - something that clearly stands out, even in a crowd of supernatural beings. As most demons he has a pair of horns, however unlike most demons (and unlike the picture) his horns are straight, pointing backward from his temples and ending in a sharp tip that is just a both longer that his elvish-sharp ears. He has a great deal of tattoos covering his body from different time periods he has been summoned in.
Usually he wears a black leather jacket over a grey hoodie, on his legs he usually wear a pair of dark black denim pants with a pair of black leather boots. He doesn’t appear to have any weapons on him.

Name: Uraziel, however he has had a lot of different names through time. In the modern world he goes by “Damian”, as his real name would appear rather odd - and it causes scenes in most supernatural circles (or at least to those that have heard of him).

Age: Unknown - even Uraziel has lost count, but it is needless to say that he has seen quite a few millennia pass by.

Gender: Male

Race: Demon (ancient)

Magic: Adept
Description: Rift: This spell is capable of ripping a hole in the time and space of a dimension, that it allows the user to enter a space in between the different worlds - another dimension that is separate from our own in both time and space, but also, depending on the capabilities of the user, create a whole other dimension (of course this would be a fairly limited dimension in both space and what is in it – usually it would just be a black void) and control the time and space of this world. What this spell allows the user to do is fairly basic in theory, but holds a great deal of uses. By ripping open the normal dimension, the user can then insert himself/herself into a space in between worlds and through manipulating time and space in the second dimension, the user can, in essence, “teleport” him/herself over a distance in the real world. This also allows the user to disappear, making the spell a great escape tool. However, with enough experience, the user can also store things within another dimension and withdrawing/inserting objects whenever they require it.
The main problem with this spell is that it holds no offensive capabilities alone as it effectively only allows the user to slip in and out of another dimension and therefore cannot harm anyone. However if the user is skilled in fighting it does allow the user to create more opportunities as one can move quickly from one place to another, or teleport something else – however it can also be used as a defensive manoeuvre: if the user can react quickly enough it is possible to open a rift that will “absorb” incoming objects. This would of course require extreme skill, control, knowledge of the situation and - most importantly - luck.

Magic-absorption:
Higher classed demons have to sustain their essence in the physical world by absorbing certain amounts of magic (the amount and how frequent depends on the demon’s powers). While love demons can simply sustain their essence by being near sources of magic (big cities tend to be filled with magic as the amount of supernatural beings are drastically higher and more dense than in rural areas), however stronger/higher class demons need to “refill” themselves by draining external sources. This can either be a “well” of magical energy (example: an area after a magical-heavy fight etc.) or absorb it straight from a living being. This is done by opening up the skin, that acts like a natural barrier to keep one’s magical energy inside, and stop energy from getting into you. By opening the skin the barrier is torn down and that allows the demon (or anyone else skilled in this art) to draw out the energy within a being. This is done much like vampire’s bite, however since vampires are generally considered a sub-race of demons, stronger demons can just use any wound they lay their hand (?) on.

Equipment:

“Adriel” the dark sword. It is said that in ancient times an evil demon was slayed by a human hero, however instead of letting it escape its sins with death the hero jailed the demon’s soul within the blade of his sword.
“Aegis”: The legend tells of a war that raged millennia ago between the forces of evil and the humans that lived in the world, however the battles were so fierce that even the angels in heaven couldn’t just stand and passively gaze upon the slaughter of the human race. Thus the angels decided to aid the humans, giving them weapons forged in the holy holy fires of heaven. One of these swords were named Aegis: the protector.

How Uraziel/Damian came to possess these two swords is shrouded in mystery, however it has been told that in a time long ago when he was summoned by a powerful mage he stumbled across the two blades in a ruined temple to and ancient God of Abaddon.Feeling their power he stole them and have held onto them ever since.

He also has taken a liking in modern weaponry, keeping two guns specifically made for dealing with the supernatural and thus holds a various of different bullets - as well as packing quite the punch - close to him at all time.
Interestingly he doesn’t appear to carry any weapons on him, often to much laughter from the ignorant individuals, however through his ability “Rift” he keeps them safely locked away in another dimension, able to call them forth whenever they are needed.
Furthermore Uraziel/Damian holds a great knowledge in the arts of martial arts to such an extent that he can quickly and smoothly adapt his fighting style to fit whatever situation he is in.
Personality: Uraziel/Damian has quite the character, while he usually appears rather normal - though a bit to the jokingly and annoying side, but he is basically a friendly individual. He loves to fool around and do all sorts of daring acts - if you want to do some stupid, life-threatening and action-packed adventure, he is the guy to go to. At first he seems nice and open towards anyone, gladly speaking to new individuals that approach him, but if you observe him over a longer amount of time you might just start to get small taste of his real character.
Uraziel is a demon, and as so he is naturally wicked. He finds pleasure in other beings’ suffering and spilling blood is the most fulfilling, blissful feeling he can ever imagine. He loves to create dark puzzles, somehow finding great amusement in tricking and playing with ‘lesser’ life-forms. To aid him in this is his natural brilliance: Uraziel/Damian is the definition of ‘genius’. He can quickly assess a situation and value the different options and aspects of it - something that both helps him in fights, but also tricking those around him. Sadly he has a big ego, often seeing himself as the true ruler and God of the world (a notion that is, of course, completely rubbish, and he has been proven wrong many times - often with grave consequences), and because of this he has often gotten into trouble whenever he has let his tongue brag a bit too much for him. This added on to his energetic, joking, tricking and wicked character and you got yourself a recipe for disaster. Whoever summons the demon known in the old documents as “Uraziel“ only wants destruction.

History: “You know,” his icy voice cut through the cold night air, “I don’t know how old I am, where I was born or by whom. I was simply… ‘made’”. Uraziel grinned for a short while, almost as he recalled a funny memory. “However I do know that I have lived for a long time. I remember when the humans were infants, when the werewolves and vampires came to be - I even remember what sort of wine Aristotle liked and what kind of girls King Solomon liked”. At this last comment Uraziel grinned wider, “yeah, those were the good times… Anyway, what was I getting to? Oh yes! I do not recall how I came to be, just that I did - first there was nothing and then - boom! - I came to be and the Heavens shook in fear from my immense powers!” As the words erupted from his mouth another wicked grin carved its way into his face, the mere memory of his past deeds filled him with a deep sense of satisfaction.

“But, you know,” he continued after his grin had subdued a bit, “I clearly remember one of my first ‘masters’ - oh he was a clever one; one of the first in his culture to unlock the secret to summoning those creatures from another dimension - and of course he chose the greatest, the biggest and the baddest: Me! ‘Uraziel the Great’!”. His laughter echoed through the dark side-alley before he opened his mouth to continue his story; “Of course he summoned me out of personal gain - not that I cared much, in fact it was pretty great: I could kill and slaughter my way through his enemies, bathing in their blood and ripping their bodies apart”. The memories sent a shiver down his spine from pure pleasure, those were some of the best times he had experienced.

“Of course it didn’t last though” he added after a brief laughter, “all great men must bow down to the death of time - and so my first master was slain after a few decades - and to be honest it was a blessing to get back to the demon realm, you see, us demons start to get…. itchy from being in the human dimension for too long, after all we do not belong here, and after some time our souls will start to pull us back”. Uraziel ran his hand through his dark hair before continuing his story, the night had truly started to take its strength over London’s streets, its cold touch held the citizens in a tight grip, whispering of the horrors that happened once it had taken control over the city.

“Anyway, after that a few centuries went past before another of these stupid humans summoned me, once again it was for personal gains - and once again I was allowed to carve a bloody path through the pages of history”. His wicked grin had returned at the thought of all the bodies he had been able to rip apart - those were the days, but the sight of his listener’s shocked eyes drew him back to reality. “This trend continued for some millenia, I was summoned and sent back once my time was over, but every time I was brought down to Earth the world had changed, I jumped through time, only experiencing short periods here and there and-...”, he stopped himself before he continued, “well” he said after a short pause, “and now I am here, in this sick and corrupt world - summoned to this God forsaken town by Him...”

Uraziel sighed and sucked the last smoke from the cigarette he had been smoking for the last half hour, the streets had started to show the pulse of life now - he had lost track of time, hell he had lost track of his mouth, perhaps he should kill this poor guy who had been awestruck by his life’s story. Why had he told him anyway? Or right, it had all started out with a bit of chit chat over a smoke, and then just escalated from there.

It really didn’t matter much, even if this guy knew his story, he most likely wouldn’t be believed if he told it; a demon who had seen millenia go by, here in London, today, waiting for his chance to slaughter his way through the underworld. Yea right, not likely. But man, all that speaking had really made his mouth dry..

“Now that is enough storytelling, now where was this bar you were talking about?"

I just see a lot of problems arising with posting whenever. Like, If I decided to post and started writing up what I wanted but it took a couple of hours, then I check back and someone's already written an entire different kind of story so I have to scrap that, isn't that a major waste of time? I'm not saying we have to do a posting order, I just feel like we need at least some sort of system to prevent multiple posting. Even if we just create a pm with everyone involved in the rp and post whenever we're making a post.

It's called common courtesy. Most people on here, in the casual section, don't do that. We usually wait until people have posted 3-4 times before posting again, at least that's what I do, and most other people do something similar. Unless you have two characters conversing by themselves, then you're free to have them talk a bit so long as you don't turn it into a 1x1 RP.

Just relax. Don't speed post, and we won't have any problems.
