He would have to use this place as a temporary base, and possibly recruit some human to his cause. If he could set up a following here, it would be easier for him when he returned later to conquer it. Of course, he would need to travel across universes first.

Megatron saw the Knightmares as was disgusted by them. "Filthy, pathetic, dirty imitations" he said, proceeding to shoot at them. The first shot hit the nearest knightmare square in the middle, with enough power to blow a hole clean through it. The sound of the riot cannon echoed as loud as the sirens going off.

Ah. Nora heard the sounds of police sirens and other noises that were made by the beings above. It had seemed like everyone had to get into the action of fighting very soon. Megatron continued to pour rounds on the local police, his shots erupting both on the Knightmares and on the officers. ((I would say he's fired about 10-14 shots by now)) He knew that he couldn't fight constantly, not in this form, but he could at least kill these opponents. He hoped one would survive, so he could interrogate him. If he didn't it was of no matter, he could always find more.

To make matters worse there are several VTOL gunships and G-1 Base which was being escorted by several more Knightmares and a large ground force. Anyone fighting without heavy support would find themselves overwhelmed easily.
