Nessie shook her head, putting her plate down and turning to him. "Y-you are n-not b-bad" she said, refusing to let him believe that he was. "I w-won't h-have you believe that y-you are" she lay a hand gently on his cheek, not caring that they were in the mess hall. "Y-you are g-good"

James let her hand caress his face with a slightly forlorn smile on his lips, "I just have to remind myself that no matter how bad someones past is...Their future can still be bright." He touched her cheek softly, "You are the first source of light I've seen for many years." He smiled and for a moment he looked almost like someone who had been truly broken and was a truly tragic person. "Thank you..." James had ordered an apple and a loaf of bread the same as last time, "You want a third of my apple and bread?"

Alex counted on his fingers as he spoke. "Cake, Pie, Cotton Candy, Caramel Apples, Donuts, Pudding, Jello, Chocolate, Cookies, Fruit, Soda..." He trailed off as they approached the cafeteria. "Really any one of a hundred things. You should probably eat other things too though, since you're in a human body. Not sweet things can taste good too you know."

Nessie smiled, and gave him a hug. Nessie shook her head, "w-w-why d-don't you g-get more or a-something d-different? The f-food here is g-great" she said, picking her plate back up

James shrugged, "Apples and bread are what i could steal without getting caught." He smiled a little, "I am just used to having them with Hope every day." He looked around, "What do you think i should have?"

"T-the s-sandwiches are g-good" Nessie said, giving him a smile, "a-and the c-chips. It's all g-good" she laughed, and shifted, holding her plate with both hands so she wouldn't drop it. "Y-you s-should eat m-meat" she suggested, "f-food is good" she smiled, and waited for him

She could hardly think straight as he mentioned all of the things that had sweets and they all sounded so amazing. She pulled him in to the dining room while her smile was flashing straight towards the chef who smiled merily back.
"What will it be today?"
She jumped towards the counter and smiled. "Anything sweet. Like a sweet buffet." She wiggled, before he laughed and quickly got to work. "Human food is sooo amazinggg." She whimpered and danced around.

James nodded and ordered a large sandwich covered in three different types of meat, "I suppose i might as well go big or go home right?" James laughed a little and hope whined, "Dont worry your still getting half. You hog." Hope wagged her tail back and forth and licked his hand.

Nessie smiled, and shifted her plate so she could let Hope, "p-p-puppy dog eyes a-always g-get what they w-w-want" she said with amusement, going over to get them a table. She glanced about, seeing who was in the mess hall, but chose an empty table, settings her plate down.

James sat next to her with his massive sandwich, "This looks good...I hope its as good as it smells." He ripped it in half and gave half to hope before taking a bite himself. Seeing Nyx and Alex he almost waved but stopped himself, "I wish that girl would learn to like you...I don't understand why she doesn't." He just shrugged, "more of your attention for me." he laughed a bit.

Nessie sighed and shrugged "I d-d-don't know either" she said sadly, "I w-wish I c/could figure out w-what to d-do" she looked down at her food, wishing she was confident enough to go over and say hello, but she wasn't, and she was afraid of the girls reaction. There was only so much you could take before getting the hint that someone didn't want to talk with you and the Nyx's continue crying at her was just weary and painful

"Maybe shes just really emotional?" James shrugged a bit, "I mean she has no reason not to like you...Your amazing." James smiled a bit wickedly, "I am a little biased though." He smirked and then took a big bite of sandwich, "Holy..." James took another bite, "Why couldn't these have been sitting out for me to steal jeez."

Nessie sighed and nodddd, looking away from Nyx and Alex, and back to James laughing, "t-told you it w-w-was g-good" she bit into her own sandwich, savoring it and swallowing. She had soon finished her sandwich, leaning back into her chair, and smiling. "Y-you w-want to w-watch me try and f-fail w-with t-training?"

James laughed, "Nope..." He had finished his food as well and leaned back next to her, "I want to see you succeed." He winked at her while smiling, "Come on...I'll bet you can do it this time."

Nessie shrugged, "h-h-haven't s-so f-far" she said standing. "B-b-but I g-guess t-there's a first t-time for e-everything" she said, smiling slightly, she stretched, snatching up the chocolate she'd had on her tray

James put his hand on her shoulder, "The wind Honors the Flame Nes..." He kissed her softly and broke off a little piece of her chocolate when she wasn't looking, "Maybe with me there you can do it?"

"maybe" Nessie agreed, starting towards the training grounds. She went back to the same candles, and sighed, began to stare at them, and wish them alight. It tried for a good long time to light the candles, but to no end. She sighed. Closed her eyes, she imagined the candles lit, the flames flickering and dancing, the red, yellow, orange mixture of them, the candles slowly burning. She opened her eyes, but nothing had happened. "Urgh!" She flung up her hands in frustration, and there was a whooshing sound as the three wicks ignited.

"I just can't do it without being angry!" She glared at the candles, the flames dancing and flickering like she had imagined. Which just made it worse. "Why can't I do it?" She blew the candles out, taing a few deep breaths, she calmed herself, staring at them again.

She looked back over at James, and shook her head.

Austin jumped from a mediation, startled by the yell of anger from another part of the training room. He heaved and sigh and stood up, adjusting his clothes. A fine layer of sweat coated his arms and the rest of his body. Walking out, he looked around, spotting someone in the training area for viper. Interested, he went and leaned against a wall to watch them, arms folded across his chest. He could see no benefit in lending his help, so he was content to watch. He watched them, reconizing the girl from his dorm.

Back at the entrance of the dining area, the doors swung open to reveal two guards escorting a young man in cuffs. Before they went further than the entrance, one of the guards stepped in front of the boy and reached for his cuffs, all the while, the boy simply watched the guard with emotionless eyes, not even making a sound to acknowledge when the guard began to speak.

"To be completely honest I think you should still be in solitary, troublemaker like you doesnt deserve the safety of Luxvar. But it would seem other people from higher up believe that being around other defects would do you some good. Hah! Just wait, the second you screw up kid, I'll be right here waiting to take you back. Might even buy you a new set of cuffs with your name engraved on them. How does that sound?" he said as he gave the boy a smirk, which was a little unsuccessful considering the boy was a good head taller than the guard was. But the boy gave no response, except for the cold glare that he held the entire time he was speaking. When he did speak, his voice was low and even, no signs of nervousness in it.

"Next time you see me, you'll need more than cuffs buddy"

The guard gave a huff and pulled off the cuffs, pocketing them and pointing a finger at his chest. "You better hope I dont come back here, One more blow up from you kid and we may have to get daddy involved. Now we wont want that will we?"

The lack of response got a chuckle from the guard, thinking he had won as he turned to leave the room and the facility, but before he left, the boy had one last thing to say:

"Dad lets me handle my own issues, and right now, you seem like the biggest one. Watch your back bub."

The guard gave one last nasty look before leaving, letting the boy survey his surroundings. He saw two people and a dog leaving the area for another section of the building. That left another girl, dancing about food? Ugh... this'll be a fun time. Maybe it'd be best he go back to solitary... nonetheless the boy sighed and made his way to the food line, his stomach growling as he did.

Her moment stopped abruptly as three tall men waltzes in to the room, the middle one being in cuffs, her heart jumped. She could barely handle someone rejecting her but this guy looked as if everything he says would be insulting. She turned back to the chef who placed the trey of small serving desserts and named them all out for a long with strawberry shake. She smiled brightly and thanked him before sitting herself at the bar.
