Well, tell me what to do before I sketch out a post on the Kahje!

Well, there's a bunch of stuff you could do. I think it'd be best if you're do a small little plot that has at least some connection to Nova, so that by the end of it you're on the team and that's that. Just off the top of my head, here's a few ideas: Nova just got done with a mission on Omega where we stole a shipment of supplies from the Blue Suns that turned out to be a bunch of illegal poison gas. So you could be mercs involved with the Blue Suns, Aria on Omega, the Turian government (who originally developed the gas) or some other party and you're dealing with the aftermath of that (though Derv and Tick have an upcoming mission that deals with the gas, so talk with them first). OR you could do something completely different on the Citadel or somewhere else that tangentially relates to Nova. Maybe you're hired by someone to track down the team for some reason? Maybe one member in particular ( a bunch of our characters have someone looking for them)? Maybe the Tyrus was obtained illegally before it was sold to us and you guys were hired to repo it? Be creative!

Another idea is to ask around and see if anyone with upcoming mission ideas has a way to use you as a set up to future Nova jobs. I have a few ideas of my own but since we're already in the middle of one of my own (and it's taking forever >_>) I probably won't be in the GM seat for a while lol.

Hey Reylaa, welcome aboard. :] Don't worry, adding the one extra on top of the one extra, at this point, won't hurt much. Particularly if things go as the recent posts suggest. Just post up the CS and we'll have a look.

GM-y things:
Splitting the teams up (did that for the mission here, too, though to a lesser extent) is an awesome idea, and it handles the issue well while giving a larger group of individuals to mess with. Particularly on the note of getting focused interactions between various characters. That builds things up into cooler things.

The only issue with this is if players get stuck in a small group, where the rest are inactive, and the player's character can't get into contact with anyone else that is actively played. In that specific case, it'd get 'em stuck with dead weight, talking to themselves. And that always sucks.

I think it's also good to steer clear of competitions on who gets accepted. It's no longer strictly a judge of if the character's/RP'ers good enough to play by the rules, cutting otherwise solid players that might stick around for years, and it always breeds a bad vibe.

Since this cuts down on the issue of the whole group going at one thing all at once, should we still close applications to new members?

Bob was a prodigy the galaxy lost before his time. 'Tis a sad thing he did not achieve his full potential.

Ha. One of the oldest members kicked for a bad strain of typos.

I have a few ideas, just off the top of my head, about how various characters might be involved in the mission Derv and I are GM'ing, even if only tangentially (Mosis made some good examples, but there's a couple other things they could do, too). So if people need help getting involved in the RP, Derv and I should be able to help (or provide ideas, at the least).

Also, a lot of the characters have one or more persons interested in finding them or harassing them, so you could use one of the background stories and check with the RP'er playing the character to whip an idea up. Or, following Mosis' earlier idea, involve them with one of the other new characters.

One last thing, the Tyrus is a pretty nice ship, a turian stealth prototype. If any shady black market dealers caught notice of it, or the turian government, or most anyone else, they might be on a hunt to get it. The new character could somehow be after that.

This is my personal favorite, and I also like people trying to get the Tyrus. The Tyrus is a big part of Nova that doesn't get near enough attention.

I thought we established that the volus ship yard vendor realized that it was a clerical error and the normal turian frigate that was being decommissioned was in fact a stealth prototype, which was illegal for civilian purchase and ownership, so before any inspectors grew any the wiser, he super discounted the Tyrus just to get it the hell out of his ship yard. Given how little Nova gives a crap about following the law to the letter, this was the bargain of the century.

And totally! I can certainly help with potential missions, and I do like what Mosis suggested about the new guys kind of having their own little story arc before running into the team. It'll give them time to bond and join in a bit more organically when the game comes their way.

Pssht. "Established" is such a strong word. Actually, in the last little part of Kosso's cs I mention something about Kosso helping the emerging Nova with finding a discount ship, and I wouldn't put it past him to get them a deal that was (legally) too good to be true :P

I'm up for either, as I said before I'm willing to wait if there be too many, and if I'm in a queue then it's first come first serve. Although I like the idea of trying to repo the Tyrus, be an interesting way to meet members of Nova tbh. Blood Raged Krogan in tight confines vs an elite team of mercs? Sounds like a fair fight to me lol.

Fix'd
Individually, most of them may be skilled, but together…well, they're hardly a cohesive unit. Plus, the clashing egos, their penchant for things to go awry despite any amount of planning they've done beforehand, and particularly my own likelihood of messing things up for my own sadistic pleasure. Actually, one and three usually go hand-in-hand. And before we know it, the Tyrus is wrecked, drifting through space and Nova is short on funds due to the repairs (which in itself could be an idea; the new guys being an even smaller merc group who simply got drunk and ended up vandalizing the ship in their stupor, (or something else along the lines of the Tyrus ending up rather damaged through their actions (e.g. some sort of fire-fight through Omega)) and have to work with Nova for a few missions before becoming full members. Not necessarily making them credible to everyone else right away, but it could create some more interesting internal conflict to the group).

Nova's only tied together by Shepard Roland. Without him, the Tyrus would be drifting debris orbiting an uninhabited planet, and all the members would be alone for some reason.

I'm gonna be quite busy today and tomorrow, but I'll try to work as fast on the character sheet as possible x-x. I'll post when its finished. (just using this post so I won't lose what I write)

My idea for this character is that she joins the gang to re-live her glory days (aka, working as a united group), and to eventually extract her revenge on the blue suns.

Kinda. You can get everybody up until the point where you kind of have to "lock in" your relationship with somebody, but if you're "locked in", you can break it off with them and go to somebody else, but you can't have everyone on the go at once.

Gonna work on my SB post soon.

It's also "kinda" possible in this game, too; I, however, highly don't recommend trying it.

Rather, wait until you and the other new people come up with a good idea of something to do. I for one am too lazy to come to a decision. Consider it your first test as a pre-Nova members: come up with a reasonable way for your characters to meet up with Nova and keep yourselves occupied in the meanwhile.

What he said. The training-wheels come off today; I hope you came with your creativity helmet, elbow and knee pads. (Although a good hint would be to start a private convo between all of you.
