[OOC] Pokemon: The Stuff of Legends

Many centuries ago the legendary pokemon of the world were not as they are today. No, long ago the great beings of the pokemon world lived side by side with mankind, unafraid and trusting of their intentions. Things were simpler back then. There were no evil machines out to catch pokemon and contain them for evil uses, no mechanisms to extract the power of the legendaries, only trust and companionship: the ideal.

In the land of Urael there lived a princess in a great castle. Her parents had left her in charge of her future kingdom so they could travel the world gaining knowledge of their fellow kings and queens of the lands. The princess held no fear for her parents' absence, for she had by her side a legendary companion who would protect her at all costs. As if that wasn't enough, her younger siblings were all about the castle and the royal guard wouldn't have let a joltik slip past them. The princess felt safe. For weeks she went about her duties, knowing full well what was expected of her. With the help of the legendaries that called the castle their home, the kingdom was peaceful and well sustained. All was well... or so it seemed.

One morning the princess saw through her window, a dark shadow seeping over the edge of the horizon. Though far in the distance and hardly noticeable at all, a terrible chill crept down her spine. She summoned a meeting with her brothers and sisters and the kingsguard. This shadow was an ominous sign, they all agreed, and while the king and queen were absent, it was the duty of the princess and those around her to find out the source of darkness and stop it, if need be.

+The Rundown+
We live in a time before pokeballs, before team rocket/plasma/magma/anything else, before pokedexes, before the legendaries became the elusive pokemon we all love to hunt down and catch. Instead, the legendaries help rule the lands with the kings and queens. I will be playing the role of the princess, Zokura. There will be the following slots available:
Siblings (Royal Family)

Kings' Guard


Now, the siblings are all younger than Zokura, even if by 10 months (busy queen eh?) Don't worry though, Zokura is 26 so we won't be playing children. The siblings may each choose a legendary from the list to have as their "companion" and the kings' guard will choose from a different list. If you really want one that's not on the lists, PM me. The guards are all well trained in whatever talent you choose, be it battling, stealth, stradegy, healing. Just choose one :) The siblings and Zokura will have their own talents of course, be they acrobats, scholars, alchemists, etc (being royalty they were raised to flourish in their talents.) We're going to start off by going out to investigate the dark shadow on the horizon. And that's how the adventure will begin :)

Pokemon "catching":
We won't be "catching" any pokemon, no. Things are much more chivalrous back in these days. You'll battle a pokemon and it will vow its loyalty to you until it has paid its debt or you offer it its leave. Your only permanent pokemon will be your legendary which will have sworn an oath to serve the land by serving you. No pokeballs, no pokedexes, no "sprays" for healing. It'll be a fun time.

Personality: Responsible, noble, elegant, fierce, determined.
History:
Zokura was born the eldest of the Evenity children and therefore was placed in line to succeed the throne. From a young age she was tutored and trained to be both an ambassador for her kingdom to the pokemon inhabitants of the region and their leaders, the legendaries, and a noble ruler over the loyal members of her future kingdom. She spent her summers watching her younger sister playing out in the courtyards or running off to visit the town while she sat in a class learning about the history of her people. She was close with her brother and sister, but at the same time, distant in thanks to her responsibilities and duties as successor to the throne. Despite her longing to run about and play with her siblings, she studied hard and became the image of grace and wisdom by the time she reached her 18th birthday. It was on this day that her training was officially over, though her parents expected she display self discipline and continue to educate herself and fine tune her skills; she would not let them down, but she would not consume her life in her studies any longer.
After that year, her life changed, though her roots remained. She and her companion Suicune, who had first appeared at the castle on the day of her birth celebration. Suicune had sensed it was her time to offer her loyalty to the leaders of men and did so by building a beautiful ice sculpture in the center of the ballroom before all the guests. The sculpture depicted a massive, icy version of herself kneeling in fealty to a tiny baby reaching its hands out from a beautiful bassinet. When the last flake of frost settled, the icy hound made its way over to where the princess lay, swaddled in her own bassinet, and bowed. From that day on, the two never each other's sides. With the birth of Zokura's two younger siblings, the family was greatly pleased to welcome the arrival of the second and third of the legendary hounds, brothers to suicune. It was a blessing to the land to have the trio of elemental legendaries station at the side of the kingdom's royal future. After more than 2 decades of peace, the king and queen were secure in their belief that all was sound and would be for generations to come, and so, they departed to extend their alliances and gain knowledge of the far kingdoms and their rulers.
The queen-to-be was left in charge of the kingdom and of her younger siblings. Each day, Zokura would rise and take a seat at her vanity. She would look at her reflection, unblinking, and promise herself that she would not let her parents down, and that she would serve and lead this kingdom to the best of her abilities. And with a deep breath and a cool breeze from the icy beast at her side, she would start each new day.

Ana

Name: Ana (no surname)

Age: 26

Position/Title: Royal Guard

Appearance:

Personality: Brash and over-confident, Ana's greatest flaw is her pride. No matter how many times you knock her down, she'll get back up not because she wants to win, but because she refuses to lose. This pride of hers can make her pretty violent sometimes, but unless you're out to pick a fight, Ana will probably leave you be. She also loves her Haxorus more than anything in the world, and will command him in battle with the vigor and drive of a trainer.

History: Not much to say here...as if! Ana's history is far from plain, but it can be summed up pretty quickly. When she was young, she cut off her family ties and formed a group of bandits. Shortly after, her men were fixing to sell off a whole bunch of Dragon-type Pokemon. Ana personally kept an Axew from the bunch. For a while, it was a pretty good gig, running a bandit team with a faithful Axew at her side. Take what she wanted, when she wanted. Then came the trap from the guards, which she foolishly ran right into with a recently-evolved Fraxure. Bandit leader Ana was going to be sentenced to execution until she proposed she join the guards and swear off her crime. They thought it was freakin' hilarious. They didn't think it was so funny after she one by one took down three guards with Fraxure's help. Two years ago, Ana was enlisted in the guards.

Some months later, Fraxure evolved into the mighty Haxorus, and with that new scale of power came a new title. With the King and Queen gone, they wanted somebody who could think like a criminal working inside the castle. Ana happily accepted.

Relationships: Her only relationship as of now worth noting is with her Haxorus.

Pokemon's Personality: Like Ana, Haxorus will keep getting back up until he can't even hold himself up anymore. He and the ex-bandit leader have a very deep bond, and he'll always have her back. He knows she's got his.

Appearance:

Personality: Trickster, funny, loyal, kind, intelligent. Alexander is quite the trickster or he likes to think he is. He is always trying to be one step ahead of anyone but in his heart is loyal to his family. Alex would gladly give his life for his family should things come to it. He and Entei are close friends due to their similar personalities. He prefers to be in the front line of battles instead of hiding in the background. he does sometimes get in fights with his siblings but it is not usally that bad.
History: As the middle child of the royal family, Alex had always been the one in limbo. He was not as noble as his older sister and yet not quite like his younger sister either. He was some combination of the two. He got Entei when he was 2 years old. The wolf appeared in his room and the guards seemed to think it odd when they saw the Prince hugging the legendary Pokémon. The guards were a bit alarmed that the two year refused to let go of the "Big Dog" as he was calling Entei. They could not convince the prince to let go so they just let them sleep side by side, which they have done ever since. He always tried to be the diplomat. Fixing problems where he saw them. It is not odd to see him lounging in the courtyard with some book with his "Big Dog".

Pokemon's Personality: Loyal, no sense of humor,quiet, intelligent. The only thing that really seperates Alex from Entei is their differing ideas on humor and jokes. Entei is not the greatest when it comes to jokes. The two are rarely apart and are always training.

Lol wow. I forgot soooo many now that I think about it. :| I'm kind of old school at heart haha. Yes you can use victini.

Meloetta and the swords of justice are options, but I'm going to keep the dragons of gen 6 and the forces of nature off the list of choosables.

History:
Ever since she was a child, the youngest Evenity, Adelaide loved to run, play and escape the castle walls every so often, and because her companionship with Raikou she is able to leave the castle and run across the fields and plains atop of the lightning tiger-like Pokemon. She has been doing this since the moment she was interested in what was outside. Her favorite subject to learn was Pokemon, where as a child, she spent all her time looking at pictures, having her family read to her about other Pokemon and drawing them, which she has a wicked hand for sketching! But her curiosity always seemed to get her in trouble and if she wasn't scolded by the members of the Royal Household than Raikou would give a look and stop their rides outside the castle walls. Unlike her eldest sister, Adelaide lacks in grace and elegance, and as she is getting older, and will one day marry, she does not have much time to run free...but she always finds ways!

Raikou distrust others that are not Adelaide and the royal family and is wary of the people around. He is very protective over the youngest Evenity, and because of the young princess's brash and free personality he is playful.

History:
Adomorn was young when he met the Pokemon Zoroark, even when they first met the Illusion pokemon was tricky and trapped a child Adomorn in a illusion for a whole night until the finally Zoroark felt bad for him. Since than the pokemon always stuck close by until Adomorn stopped being scared and befriended the pokemon, becoming friends, and soon campanions on their travels. Together Adomorn learned from Zoroark and soon he was able to understand the illusions and how to create them with Zoroark's help. From their they went to the kingdom seeking a better life as members of the guard, that was when he was appointed "Royal Wizard of Urael" for his outstanding illusions.
