Name: Dr. Thomas Arturo

Alias: Warlock

Age: 38

Powers: Sorcery: portals, energy shields, and conjurations. Given the proper materials he can cast many other spells and rituals from other books as well, but those usually require time and preparation, hardly practical in the heat of battle.

Weaknesses: Magic is not unlimited. The bigger the spell, the greater the cost. Energy shields are only strong as his own stamina, once he has been exhausted, so too will his shields, resulting in them being broken. Conjurations can vary, and will drain magical stamina depending on the size and complexity of the object being summoned.

Personality: A quiet man, Tom keeps to himself more often than not, usually burying himself in work or research. Even so, he is hardly one to allow an evil act to go unpunished, and will indeed fight if he is provoked.

BRIEF Bio: Thomas Arturo was born in Rockwell, Arizona. During and after High School, Tom worked as a librarian to put himself through College, where he earned a PhD in Mythology/Folklore, even later deciding to teach the subject himself as a Professor. During his college years, Tom joined a fraternity made up of other Mythology majors, led by the then Professor of Mythological Studies, Henry Caine. Over the years, Tom came to the learn that Caine and his inner circle of students were actually part of obscure cult called the Keepers of the Forbidden Lore, devoted to searching for and protecting the most dangerous magical secrets in the name of an entity named Vecna, the Lord of Secrets. Each member of the cult is identified by a mark on their right palm in the shape of eye, the symbol of Vecna. Tom was inducted into this circle himself and, in its service, learned to use magic and rituals of various kinds. The Keepers were not the only cult devoted to Vecna, however, as one day the group was attacked and massacred by dark sorcerers calling themselves the Spawn of Vecna, claiming to be his children and divine inheritors of all knowledge. Tom was the only survivor, managing to save a handful of the books and scrolls the Keepers guarded and going into hiding. He moved to Metropolis, hoping the larger city would conceal him from those who would no-doubt come looking for him should they learn of his survival. Of course, that hasn't stopped him from occasionally using the sorcery he's learned to defend the innocent under the moniker of Warlock.

Master Crim - If this was an original universe not based on anything canon, or even just a straight up fantasy or sci-fi RP then I'd accept that CS. But I don't think a kid who transforms into some big scary dragon is League material.

I see 6 posts up now in the IC so almost everyone's made an introductory post. I'll get to writing up my follow up post tonight to further the story. I'm back in the YJ2020 titanpad if anybody's around...

I don't need a link to know about the 'Devil. And if you know anything about him you'd know he was used veeeeery rarely in some spinoff Justice League title. I'm just looking for more traditional tights and spandex type superheroes. Not a half dozen vigilantes like Batman in black leather, or a couple guys that are half machine, or somebody that controls a giant robot, it's all too anime for a western/American superhero themed RP.
