Spider-Man leapt out of the alley way, shooting webs out of both wrists, using it as a slingshot. His speed was incredible. He couldn't believe this. He couldn't believe he was the reason for all of this! He should have kissed Lexi so much sooner.... he should have told her about Spider-Man, how for his first few months he went on a spree to find Uncle Ben's murderer. Now his decisions have lead to a psychopath trying to kill him, and get Lexi! He easily made it past the police, he assumed that none of them wanted him to go in there in a risk of bystanders dying... He landed on the side of the wall, right above the open doorway. He moved noiselessly, going through through the top, and to his horror, he saw Lexi sitting next to her parents, with the man holding rope.

NO!! He wasn't going to lose Lexi! He shot his web at the back of the man's head, and pulled as hard as he possibly could. His head shattered the hard wood. A few gasps and celebrations happened when they saw Spider-Man. "Okay, Jolly Green Giant..." He said, as the man got up, giggling quietly. "heard you were looking for little ole me... No need to hold anyone hostage." He said, staring at the very strange man...

If it was make up, it was a very good (yet disgusting) display of a man that looked like a goblin. He glared at Peter with full hatred, a very unsettling smile spreading across his cracked lips. "The Spider is here! and so is the lovely Miss Rogers..." He said, looking at her. Spider-Man shot his web at his cheek, and made him face Spidey again. "You've reached a strong 90 on the creepy scale, buddy..." Spider-Man said, shaking his head.

He laughed. "'Buddy!' I'm not your 'Buddy'! You stole her from me!" He screamed, Spider-Man keeping his ground while others cowered in fear. This really was a strange man... then he squinted a bit. "Rick...? Rick Archer? What happened to you...?" He asked.

"Why say it like a bad thing, Spider-Man?!" He shouted gleefully. "We feel so much better like this!" We...? "Look... Rick, just let everyone go... We can solve this, I want to help you!" He said, holding out his hands in front of him, his spider senses tingling.

"Help me? Help me?! You think i brought you here was to help ME?" He asked with wild fits of laughter. "No no no... I won't be letting anyone go... They won't want to miss watching me squish the bug!" He said with a sinister grin. People whimpered. Spider-Man looked around, then innocently pointed at himself. The Green Goblin nodded. "Yes... these people won't idolize you when they see you fall... I will become the protector of this city... and will destroy anyone who apposes me! Unlike you! You're weak! Death is your downfall i'm assuming..." He grinned his new signature sinister grin. "Lets see how much the people of New York mean to you!" He pressed a button on his wrist, and the spider senses that were going off were going off even louder now. A glider burst through the wall, sending debris everywhere, large blades on the front of it now, heading straight for a group of teenagers.

Spider-Man leapt off the ground, shooting web from both web shooters, and using all his strength to steer the glider off course. It crashed inches away from them, breaking through the wall. Spider-Man landed, and when he turned the Green Goblin was there to greet him, hitting him as hard as Spider-Man could have. He went flying in to a wall. The Goblin laughed gleefully. "Ooohhh! This will be fun! Truly a talented young man.... I will enjoy ripping that mask off and seeing terror in your last living moments... then its off to Peter Parker's house... Yes... her other half..." He muttered almost to himself.

Peter opened his eyes and dove for the Goblin, wrapping his arm around his throat and shooting webs in his face. "Everyone GO! Leave the room! Hurry!" Peter was elbowed in the face, he could taste blood as he held on for dear life, looking at Lexi, praying she would run out of here.

That terrifying moment when something loomed over you, casting a large shadow of Lexi’s small body. She turned, a horrible looking man stood over her and before she could say anything he grabbed her by her throat lifting her off the ground as she kicked her legs in an attempt to make contact with him but nothing seemed to be working against the suite he had on. She swung her legs over and over again her hands attempted to pull his talons of fingers free from her neck. Her vision was blurry but the face of the creature before her seemed familiar and at that moment of getting dizzy from lack of oxygen to her brain, she couldn’t make out who it was.

Lucky for her brain she was dropped soon and the thing seemed to stumble backwards, as if coming to the realization of who she was before it screamed at her to get in the corner. He followed her as she walked slowly, by his command, towards her classmates; she could hear the limp bodies of her parents being dragged behind her by the monster. Her classmates had a mixed of expressions, some were surprised to see her here, others were scared that she showed up and others looked like they applauded her bravery. When she arrived to the group, she turned around to face the creature that threw her parents’ limp bodies to the ground and began to tie her wrists behind her back. The look of sheer anger moved across her face as she felt the rope go around her waist.

It wasn’t until she was face forward again that her eyes widened at the arrival of Spider-Man. This was both good and bad. As the man tumbled backwards he ended up letting go of the rope. She pulled the rope with her foot and kicked it behind her towards her classmates. The exchange between the two was somewhat humorous until the creature looked at her, her body visible shook from a mix of disgust and fear. But as Spider-Man called him Rick Archer, the whole room gasped, even Lexi looked stunned and stumbled backwards into the students, which is just were she wanted to be.

Very quietly she instructed someone to untie the ropes. It took three of the football players pulling at the knot to undo it due to how tight he tied it but at the end of it, they got her out in time for the glider to head for them. Before she could say anything, Spider-Man had pulled it out of the way. Her gaze followed the glider; her mind buzzing of all of her electronic knowledge. Though her thoughts were broken when the creature said that he would go after Peter. “NO!!!” She screamed, the first time she had shown pure terror about the situation. He was at home or at least on his way home from getting Aunt May, she couldn’t allow them to get hurt. He had to be stopped right here and right now.

Those thoughts were broken when Spider-Man shouted for everyone to leave. She grabbed two football players and convinced them to carry her parents outside. She was the last to leave the room, making sure that everyone was out of the gym, but it didn’t stay that way for long. She had gone to the opening the wall where the glider sat quietly awaiting the remote control orders from the creature. His suite was his power and part of that power came from the glider. Her attention was one the two fighting for a moment before she took a chance and climbed onto the glider. Her hands moving quickly over the panels, There has to be one that lifts, just one that peeks inside. She thought, her mind racing and her heart was pounding, her biggest inspiration to do this was to stop the creature from having any transportation to get to Aunt May and Peter.

Her small hands found a panel that was slightly loose and she pulled with all her might, the piece finally giving and revealing the insides filled with wires and levers. She paused for a moment examining it, well if this wasn’t going to kill her it would be a hell of a thing to take apart and see how it works. All the cords were incased in rubber, assuming she did touch the wires after she yanked them out, she shouldn’t get electrocuted. Taking in a deep breath, she reached in and gave the cords a large yank. Even with her small hands, she grabbed a large bundle of wires. For a moment, the machine stayed fine, which she wasn’t sure if it was a good thing or a bad thing.

Well it turned out to be a bad thing. The machine started to shake wildly with her on it, a small shriek left her as the machine took off into the air, flying around the gym targeting both Spider-Man and Rick on multiple passes before stopping in the middle and shaking violently again. Her knuckles turned white as she gripped onto the glider for dear life, it stopped again and turned, zooming out the door and taking off towards the sky. Stopping above the school it make another violent attempt to get her off before it stopped completely, hovering in the air as the police spotlight hit her. Thinking she was okay, she loosened her grip on the device before it started make a noise, a noise everyone hears in movies that tends to me a single bad thing, something was going to explode. A small little screen turned upwards, showing a countdown from 10. “Oh no…” she muttered as she quickly got to her feet. The thing was surprisingly stable as she walked quickly to each edge, taking her the choices she had. It would be nice for her school to have a pool but no! It couldn’t. 5…. 4….. 3….

It got too close, she didn’t care anymore, she took some distance back and ran, leaping off as the time hit 1… 0. BOOM, the explosion through her off the course she had picked with the large bushes and knocked her away from it. Well at least she got to kiss Peter before she died right?

Peter remembered sitting on top of the Empire State Building, eating a hotdog (they were free for him) on a rather cold New York night, wishing he had a bit more of an exciting day... Now that he was getting punched in the face, he would take the petty thieves any day. It was intense. He had quick reflexes, and Spider-Man could dodge a lot of his punches. He was incredibly strong, and fast... and then his spider senses went crazy. He died a backwards somersault, the glider going past his head. There went his ride... and he was rather angry.

"The itsy" punch! "Bitsy!" Jab! "Spider!" upper cut. Spiderman flew backwards, but shot a web to catch himself, swinging with full momentum and coming to kick him in the back of the head. He tossed something like orange tennis balls, and his spider senses told him he didn't want to find out what happened when they touched the ground. He swung around, the Goblin laughing. "Oh you want to play that way... Not all my toys are broken...!" He threw more metal orange tennis balls at him, and instead of exploding, they turned into little helicopters with razor sharp blades, going straight for him. He swung off a web, leaping in the sky, everything going slow motion as he did his best to dodge the balls and the glider. He missed two of the balls, but one of the glider's wings hid him, and a blade cut across his mask and face. His eye was now showing, the part of the mask hanging down the other part, the Goblin cheered.

He noticed that Lexi and the glider were gone... He dodged a lunge at him, shooting webs at his feet to keep him immobilized as he searched for Lexi. His spider senses were never wrong before. He saw the glider, and Lexi falling. He shot up after her, swinging as fast as he could. Then it exploded. Everything went in slow motion. Lexi was going to land on the floor with so much force that she would be killed.... He shot a web at her, and pulled her towards him. He grabbed her in his arms, covering her from the fiery explosion, his suit now had burn arms on his back, the other side of his mask was smoking. And just how he broke Lexi's fall from slipping while painting, he did the same thing, landing hard on the ground, sliding on the grass behind the school breathing heavily... not wanting to let go of Lexi... He could barely see anything, his back ached, but the feel of her safe and breathing was a huge relief.

"How do you feel now?" Came the terrifying voice. Peter was going in and out of consciousness, but he saw the Goblin walking towards him, an evil grin on his face. He held on to Lexi. Not wanting to let go of her. she was safe.... he, on the other hand, wasn't. "You are now broken. Injured, and barely strong enough to stay awake... all to save a few useless lives." He said, kneeling down, not paying attention to Lexi. His hatred for Spider-Man was a much larger fire.

"Lets see..." He said with happiness. "Who the itsy bitsy spider is before we squish him..." He said slowly, his nails digging through the bottom of his mask and neck, then ripping it off to reveal Peter Parker's face. A large cut across his cheek, covered in ash, his mouth bleeding, his hair burnt at some parts and one of his eyes swollen..He just stared at the Green Goblin, seeing he was just as shocked as Lexi... Lexi... he could still smell vanilla as Lexi stared at him... he remembered the feel of her lips... the years of talking to each other, and watching movies... helping Uncle Ben fix up a car... learning how to take photos with his Uncle... the voice mail.

"Time to die, PARKER!" He screamed with a laugh, raising his foot. With the last of his strength Peter held on to Lexi and rolled away, and as she was on the bottom of him, he let go of her, and shot a web at his raised foot. He yanked, standing up. As the Goblin flew towards him, Peter Slammed his fist down in his chest as hard as he possibly could. All his anger and frustration and sadness all coming in that one punch, he let out a huge scream at the top of his lungs. He hit the ground, leaving a dent, Peter panting over him, jumping on top of him and punching him in the face a couple times, anger from the loss of his Uncle, years of humiliation, the way he treated Lexi... Then he stopped, not wanting to kill him... Although he punched him rather hard, the serum made Rick Archer simply be unconscious from those heavy blows... It was over.... No casualties... No one he loved died...

He stood up slowly, using the last of his web cartridges to wrap him up in a cocoon of web, over and over again until he ran out... Then he hesitated, then glanced over at Lexi. expecting the worst.

This was it, the world was in slow motion just like in the movies; her life flashing before her eyes; the first memory she had of that horrible kiss, her first time she spent the night at Peter’s house, breaking all the house rules by staying up until midnight watching movies, her first dance, her first A on a test, her last cupcake she ate, the fact that she was turning 18 in a few days, her kisses with Spider-Man was instantly replaced with her kiss with Peter. That meant so much more to her than she could ever explain to anyone. If she was going to remember one thing before she fell to her death. Closing her eyes she took a deep breathe remembering everything about the moment from when he came in to the smell of his cologne to the gentle look in his eyes when he pulled away.

She was ripped out of her thoughts when he body was jerked in a different direction and she was caught in a way most familiar. Her eyes opened as she looked up to see Spider-Man had caught her and they were tumbling to the ground together, his grip so tight on her that she would have thought she meant something to him; if they lived through this they’d have to have a talk. Her stomach turned as she turned and she buried her face into his chest as she cupped her hands against him, feeling him rotate at the last minute, he landed on his back with her in his arms. “Oh my god, Spider-Man, are you okay?” She said quickly, her small body completely out of breath. But without the moment of saying that, the grunting and thumping of this newly formed Rick Archer showed up, it was almost as if she was invisible to him; that or the sick bastard wanted her to watch as Spider-Man died by his hand, her gaze followed the Goblin’s hand slowly removed the already torn mask.

She was just as human as everyone else; wanting to know who Spider-Man was but had the kindness to respect his privacy. As the mask lifted and Peter’s injured and ashy face, Lexi’s mouth dropped open in shock, her blue eyes wide as she took in the fact that it was Peter. All those times he had risked his life for the city. All the situations he could have fought back in school. Saving her from the burning building and the muggers; kissing him multiple times in the suite. The young man who no one paid attention but risk his life to protect the city that he loved so much. He was loved for his symbol but still attempted to live a normal life. Her best friend was Spider-Man. Her best friend she loved was the same man who had the other half of her heart.

“NO!” She screamed in desperation as Rick screamed with a laugh. But to her surprise, Peter still had the strength to roll away, keeping her out of harm’s way. As soon as he was off of her, she was up, her small body in her torn and slightly burnt dress backed up until her back hit the nearest poll of the back yard area. Before she could scream either a word of warning or another ‘no’, Peter was able to stop Rick with an intense fist punch to the chest. Lexi watch in shock, her black hair frizzed from the burst but still in the bun, her make smudged around her eyes and her blue eyes filled with water. She didn’t know whether to be happy that Peter was okay and defending himself, sad that Rick had gone this far, scared that something like this could happen or pissed off that Peter had never told her.

When everything was all said and done, she rose to her feet as he finished off cocooning Rick and turned to look in her direction. She walked slowly over to him, the mixes of emotions on her face were easily read and what was the first one to settle in was anger. Her hand rose up and she slapped him in the face. Polite enough to avoid the cut and not hard enough to actually hurt him, she give him a firm nod before pointing finger at him, “That’s for not telling me,” Then she placed her hands on each of his cheeks, again careful not to touch his injures as much as possible; she leaned up and planted a big fat kiss on his lips just like she had done when they were children in the video, when she pulled back a pop echoed throughout the empty back area of the school. “And that’s for everything else.”

Peter watched with one good eye as Lexi walked towards him. She had so many expressions he didn't know whether to run or accept his fate. He saw the slap coming, although compared to Archer, it was like being hit with a tissue. What he wasn't expecting was the kiss.. It felt so good to be alive, to feel her lips on his... when she pulled away he looked at her, full of despair. "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry... but i didn't want.." He pointed to the gym that was on fire. "that to happen... I didn't want..." So many things to say. He didn't want her to treat him any different than a normal kid. He didn't want her to feel sorry for him, or worry for him, a million other reasons rang through his mind, but with the amount of strength, he just shook his eyes, both full of tears.

"I didn't want to lose you..." He said. Even when she was pissed off and thrown across New York she still looked pretty... "I would never... ever forgive myself if i let something happen to you like Uncle Ben..." He said quietly... He heard footsteps approaching the side of the school. He looked at Lexi. "Look, I'll tell you everything. All honest to God truths. I'll answer any questions you want... but please don't tell Aunt May..." He said, his soft brown eye looking at her. He picked up his burnt and torn mask, and put it on to reveal his features. "I can't stay here... my mask isn't the best right now... come over whenever you want answers." He said, and just as the S.W.A.T. team and news reporters turned the corner of the school. Spider-Man was gone.

Lexi really didn’t have time to say anything to him other than nodding in agreement before she turned to see the crowd coming around the corner. She didn’t even have time to say good bye before she was bombarded by the paramedics and the press shoving cameras at her. Questions like, “Who was the crazy man asking for you? Why did he want you? Do you know him? What’s your connection with Spider-Man? Are you two dating? Why he did lump you two together?” She didn’t speak, her only question was directed to the paramedics who were throwing a blanket over and with help from the SWAT team, they made their way through the crowd of press hounding her for answer. Her only question was if her parents were okay.

Her parents were hit with knock out gas and per the agreement with the paramedics she was taken to the hospital for the night. In the hospital she wrote paper to release to the press.

The morning news turned with the big story. “We have an answer from Lexi Rogers about the situation that happened last night. She had her lawyers pass out the papers to everyone to insure that no one lacked any information. Here is what she wrote.” Her school photo popped up on the screen.

“Hello everyone,
First and foremost, I thank everyone for their concern over me and my family as we were targets of the deranged person that attacked the school. The individual had the resemblance of one of my classmates and I while I do not wish to reveal the name; I hope that I wasn’t him. He signaled me out due to Spider-Man saving me from the burning building a week ago. The picture taken by the press of Spider-Man bring me to the ground must have struck him as something misleading. I know nothing more than Spider-Man is the hero of our fair city and that he is a shining example of what we should be, it doesn’t take a super power to put others in front of ourselves. We need to follow in Spider-Man’s footsteps and everyone needs to stand up for what’s right. The deranged maniac called me out specifically and I wasn’t going to let others suffer if I thought there was something I could do to help prevent it. The situation has be resolved thanks to the quick thinking of Spider-Man, the work of the SWAT team and the caring actions of the paramedics; I thank all of them for taking care of me and my parents from the bottom of my heart. If I could suggestion something for everyone to do it would be this, and simply this; let’s everyone try to be a hero and help others in whatever way we can.
Sincerely, Lexi Rogers”

“There you have it folks, straight for the source herself. Her additional request was that people leave her be about the situation that happened at the school. She covered everything in the press release and does not wish to say any more. I think we can all do that for such a brave girl… Now turning to sports.”

Lexi clicked off the TV in her hospital bed. She was going to be allowed to go home today, her parents had regained themselves enough to go home as well but didn’t want to wait; they went straight to work on the Sunday, well aware that things were going to chaotic if they didn’t get on the ball now. They kissed her good bye before leaving; she took the jeep again to Peter’s house after going home and changing. She was rather sore from being juggled around but she felt okay. She changed into a pair of denim short shorts and a black shirt and flip flops. Arriving at Peter’s house she checked her reflection in the mirror before closing the visor and climbing out.

Walking up the steps she gave the door a light knock. She prayed that Aunt May wasn’t there, she didn’t want to be coddled at the moment; she needed to talk to Peter. She needed to know some things. And most of all, she needed him to know she wasn’t mad.

" I swear, Peter Benjamin Parker, you are more and more like your Uncle every living second! Running out to save your students! What did you expect to do?"

"Aunt May--"

"Don't you interrupt me! Did you not think that this man was a threat! Did you want to risk your life while you knew you should have stayed with your friend?" She exploded at him, sitting on the couch, his face still destroyed.

Peter made the excuse of going to try and help the school... that excuse didn't get him off the hook.

"Do you know how i would have felt if i- If i lost you?!" She yelled him him, tears and exhaustion in her face. She was clearly afraid the whole night of losing the one person she had left in her life... In a way, Peter did the same thing... He didn't say anything. He sat up and hugged her tight. She sobbed in his arms. He stared at the wall, sorry for making Aunt May bawl, and wondering if Lexi would ever speak to him again...
Peter woke up the next morning to the radio, newspaper, and television talking about "Spider-Man Vs. The Green Goblin!" Peter laid down on the couch, wearing jeans, a white long shirt with a blue t-shirt over it. His face looked much better... although he still had a horrible cut, but his eye was barely noticable now. He didn't hear Aunt May the whole morning... He assumed he would find a note saying how she went to the store to get some groceries... The letter from Lexi caught his attention. He read and heard it, grateful she didn't give away anything. Both Peter's or the Goblin's identity... The night started out perfect... he finally kissed the woman of his dreams... and then he blew it...

There was a knock at the door. He slowly sat up, and made his way to it, and was very surprised to see Lexi Rogers standing there, absolutely stunning as usual. He didn't know she was ready to leave the hospital so early. He gave a very small smile, avoiding eye contact. "hey.... I... saw your... " He pointed in the direction of the television, then he couldn't take it anymore. "Are you alright? I'm sorry for running off like that, I just..." He was at a loss of words. The smartest in his class and he couldn't explain to his best friend (and now love of his life) what he was feeling at the moment. Regret for not telling her. Grief that she got hurt. Anger that the Goblin threatened everything he loved... happiness that Lexi was safe... in love at the sight of her...

She knew she was here for the questions... and he was ready to tell her the things he should have told her over a year ago.

Lexi didn’t show much expression when he opened the door, her head mixed with feelings of the situation. Anger for not knowing, understanding for why she couldn’t know, annoyance that he would play her with the whole Spider-Man thing, letting her kiss him and face him the next day without even a mention; no hint, nothing. Happiness that he would want to fight for justice like she would always want him to do; annoyance that he would allow himself to get beat up on a regular basis at school when he had the power to defend himself and others. Pinning someone would have been enough to get the point across because sometimes violence isn’t needed, and he could have easily done that instead of walking around with a busted eye and fat lip all day.

As he began to ramble she held up her hand to cut him off and walked inside. Kicking off her shoes like normal she sat down on the couch and placed her small purse on the coffee table. “I’m fine, a bit banged up but I’m fine. I understand why you had to leave Peter, and if you had tried to stay I would have pushed you away. It’s not safe for anyone to know and I did a lot of thinking last night.”

She took in a deep breath and began. Her head hung slightly obviously beginning with the difficult stuff. “I felt a bit betrayed last night, in finding out. After the moment on the roof was the time you should have told me. After we kissed, you should have told me. It started a lot of conflict in myself when that happened, not only did that happen once but we then made out and you kissed me before leaving after saving me from the muggers. I had such… such conflicts after that night.” She let out a small sigh and explained to him what happened after he left with Rick, unaware that he already knew. “I had made a choice last night, I was going to come clean and tell you everything that had happened because, I knew that that I liked you more than I liked Spider-Man. I… I had made a choice to tell you how I felt about you and then everything happened.”

Letting out another small sigh she finally looked up at him. “I respect Spider-Man and what he does for the city; but…” Her eyes watered slightly, “I love you Peter. You for you, with or without Spider-Man, I love you.” She nodded, before wiping some water away from the tear ducks of her deep blue eyes then ran her hand through her long black hair that was down. “I would say I’d be worried about you going out and fighting crime, but after seeing you handle yourself against Rick, I think I’d be more worried about the people you’re going after then you.” A smile curled the corner of her full lips soft pink lips. “Your secret’s safe with me Peter, I’ll take it to my grave and even God won’t get it out of me. Just… just tell me how it happened. That’s all I want to know.”

Peter's heart sunk as she simply held her hand up, preparing for another lecture... and he stood there with his head down, nodding at her comments, completely agreeing... He should have told her, but he was caught in the moment when he was Spider-Man. He was the quick witted, idolized hero of New York... As Peter he was just... Peter. He looked up at her when she said that she was going to tell him the truth about how she felt... that didn't make him feel better. He then gave a smile at her words. those three beautiful words... She loved him... He didn't know how he got so lucky when the rest of his life was far from it... but he knew that he didn't want to lose Lexi... He decided to sit down next to her, taking a deep breath, going through this scenario over and over again in him mind.

"I was trying to find things out about my parents... and why they just left me. And through some research i found out that a Doctor Curt Connors used to work with my dad, and he was working at Oscorp..." He looked up at her then his hands occasionally. "As you know i took an internship to find out all i could know about my father... Connors worked in the genetic mutations department, and while looking around i found a room full of these spiders... It was fascinating, really... and while looking, one landed on my hand, and just... bit me...." He said with a shrug.

"I felt terrible that night, hallucinating going in and out of focus, my eyes hurt, my glasses didn't help, and i fell asleep... the next morning i could see perfectly without my glasses... I found out that i can stick to any flat surface using my hands and feet. I was stronger, could jump across buildings, i could run faster too... That's how i got the powers... And the whole suit thing didn't come until after Uncle Ben passed... The only thing i did was stop robbers and thieves... wanting to hunt down and find the man that killed him... I wanted... I wanted to make him pay. To make him suffer just like i did..." He shook his head. "i never found him..."

To say that Lexi could understand the inner turmoil that Peter was going through but she couldn’t. A small nod rose and fell her head in a nod when he talked about the research of Doctor Curt Connors and the internship that he had taken. When he started to talk about how it changed him, she nodded softly, she was very surprised the day she came over to the house to see that Peter had ditched his glasses and could see fine. His strength even seemed to increase like when they were cleaning out the study, some of the boxes and dressers that he was able to lift were a lot heavier than he would normally have difficulty with.

When he finished talking she reached over and took his large hands in her small ones as she closed the gap between the two of them. “Peter, please listen. You’ve been through a lot, but you’ve come out such an amazing individual and I know that Uncle Ben would be and is so proud of you.” She pulled her right hand from his and placed it on his cheek turning his head; forcing him to look at her. She leaned forward gently, placing her forehead against his, a gentle smile moved across her full lips. The gentle scent of her vanilla perfume filling the small space between them, a smile spread across her face, showing her straight white teeth. “You’ve helped so many people, saved so many people and protected so many lives; myself included. And I, just like Uncle Ben and I’m sure Aunt May would be, am so proud of you. And so proud of Spider-Man. Your secret’s safe with me, my hero.” She said softly with an honest and sweet smile.

Peter couldn't meet her eyes when he was finished. He could see his future. He could figure out his passion, and how he will protect this city with everything he's got until the day he dies, and work a good, honest job... But what he could not figure out was his past. He couldn't solve it, and no matter how hard he tried he could never find his parents or bring uncle ilBen back... Her hands and words were comforting, but he didn't appreciate it fully until she forced him to look in her beautiful blue eyes, and the feel of her forehead on his, the smell of her sweet perfume and god that smile...

He smiled back at her, her words far better than ever. "You were the motivation for 'your hero'" he said with a smile, quietly, loving how close she was. "Whenever I would feel angry with some criminal, or that I felt no one appreciated the things I did... When I was seconds away from death last night. It was you I thought about..." He gave a small hint of a smile again. "You are my hero..."

Her hand that was holding his locked into his fingers, his words melted her heart like ice cream in the sun. She was his hero, something she would have never expected. He was the hero of the city, someone who protected all the people from dangers and yet, she was his hero. Her face turned bright red as he said called her his hero. “Funny how you are my motivation to do good and I am yours.” A small laugh left her as she shook her head slightly, a large smile crept across her full lips. “You keep doing what you’re doing Peter; I believe in you, I trust you and I l…”

“Lexi? Are you here?” Aunt May’s voice echoed into the house as the front door opened.

Lexi’s head dropped, “That woman and her timing.” She whispered to Peter as she pulled back from being forehead to forehead with Peter and sat back against the couch as Aunt May entered the living room.

Aunt May nearly dropped the groceries seeing the two together. “Oh Lexi!” She said quickly as she pulled Lexi from the sitting position and yanked her into a hug, Lexi wincing as the woman hugged her tightly, “You should have listened to Peter and stayed here. How could you do something so foolish? Why would you risk yourself? Did you really think…”

“Aunt May.” She said quickly, hugging the old lady back before peeling her off of her, “You’re right, it was foolish of me. But it was the right thing to do. I had to do the right thing, I may not have super powers but I do know when it’s time to do the right thing. And that’s what I did.”

The old lady stared at her, not really understanding what Lexi meant by that, but her words weren’t meant for Aunt May, they were for Peter. “Well, alright then.” Feeling as though their conversation was done, “well I’m going to make some lunch. Are you staying for lunch?”

“Yes, yes of course.” She said with a smile as the woman disappeared into the kitchen. She turned her attention to Peter, giving him goofy smile before pointing in the direction of Aunt May. “That woman has horrible good timing in interrupting moments.”

Peter gave a small laugh and smile at her words, preparing to go for another kiss after she finished her last sentence... until Aunt May rushed in. His hand and forehead felt much colder... He watched Aunt May hug and embrace Lexi, and when she started yelling at her Peter stood up, but only that as Lexi started to respond... He couldn't help but feel that she wasn't only talking to Aunt May...

Aunt May gave Peter a look he didn't really understand, then went in to the kitchen. Peter gave a shrug and a smile. "That's Aunt May for you... but the best thing about being best friends with Spider-Man..." Peter started, and made sure the kitchen sink was on before using a web shooter to pull Lexi gently towards him, putting his arms around her than giving her a quick but very passionate kiss. Pulling back a bit. "Is that i know very good places where a couple could get away from it all... Beautiful views of NYC..." He said quietly, smiling at the idea.

He didn't know if she wanted to be coined as "Peter Parker's girlfriend" just yet... but he knew that he was absolutely crazy about her... It took him so long to realize that she was the only one he wanted to hold, to kiss, to tell his secret to... but now that he did, he didn't want to let her go.

That old woman had the most perfect timing for ruining moments lately. From when they were painting and he held her in his arms; that could have easily been a moment. They were making out on that little couch just last night that could have led to something much more important and here, they were having a great conversation that could have become something much more meaningful and she just had to walk in. Typical adults just stepping in the way of kids and young love!

As he started talking to her she felt something stick to her and was pulled in the direction of string and into Peter’s arms; right where she wanted to be. His quick and passionate kiss was enough to make her heart skip a beat. Her hands slowly traveled up his chest, surprised that she never put two and two together of who was under that suite. A smile crept across her full lips as she smirked up at him, the smile, that smile she only gave Peter and Spider-Man crept across her face. “Oh really now?” She asked playfully.

Her hands made their way up to his shoulders and traveled slowly up his neck into his messy untamed brown hair. The grin stayed implanted on her face as she tilted her head, looking up at her hero and her best friend. Her heart pounded in her chest as she leaned against him. “Then where would you suggest a couple go if the girl wants to be more than just best friends?” Her voice hinting at the question she wanted to be asked; her heart still pounding as her bottom right corner of her lip curled inward as she bit it. Why was she nervous?! This was her best friend who she just found out was her hero and she made it rather clear she had feelings for him but she was nervous, would he want to make it official? Would he really want to be “Lexi Roger’s Boyfriend”? Well he had to ask, she wasn’t going to ask him; she maybe be willing to make the first move but when it came to that she was a classic girl.

Peter was liking... No, loving this. Having her in his arms, leaning in to him, looking at him with playfulness and interest... It was the first time he's had a relationship... Was this a relationship? He really wanted it to be, and at her question he smiled, and shrugged, putting his hands on to her waist. "Well... There's a rooftop that's pretty comfortable for two, although they have to be extremely close..." He grinned. "It was a great view of Times Square..." He trailed off, loving the feel of her finger tips in his hair, her body so close... "We can say we are going to the library of something super cliche and head over there... Just you and me...and possibly as... Well... As boyfriend and girlfriend...?" He asked, his heart pounding, his mouth now dry.

Aunt May would be there to tell them lunch was ready, he just hoped to god if wasn't any time soon.

Her heart was pounding as she kept ahold of her lower lip listening to him talk and watching his soft brown eyes; her fingers played lightly with his hair as he spoke. Lexi’s head tilted to one side, her hair falling off of her shoulders like a silky black curtain. His question was an obvious one but it couldn’t have come soon enough. After everything they’ve gone through, everything they’ve put up with and how long they had been friends; it was bound to happen with the ever-growing feelings she was having for him. And now, finally, she knew he felt the same with her; something she didn’t think she’d ever encounter.

A smirk overtook her nervous lip biting, as she pulled herself away from him. Her hands dancing back down his neck to his chest and falling back to her side. “Aunt May.” She called out.

“Yes dear?”

“Peter and I have to make a quick run to the library; I need to return a book. We’ll be back in about a half an hour okay?”

“That’s fine dear just be safe, I’ll have lunch ready when you two get back.”

With that she walked to the door and leaned her back against it. “Do you need to grab anything before we go?” She asked softly to Peter, another smirk curling up the right corner of her full lips. “I can’t wait to see where my boyfriend takes me.” Oh yes, she marked it; they were official.

Boyfriend... She said Boyfriend, right? It wasn't a dream, he wasn't just making stuff up, right? Peter Parker actually getting a break in his life? His first relationship (which was very quite embarrassing, as Lexi has dated a few times, all ending pretty badly and Peter always being the shoulder to cry on)? He stood there for a few seconds, nothing but a huge smile on his face as she said those perfect words. He raised his eyebrows when she told Aunt May they were going to the library, and watched her walk, following after her as if in a trance. That's when he had that stupid look on his face. Then he snapped out of it, nodding. "I'll go get the books..." He said with another smile. Leaping up stairs (he got too happy and managed to leap halfway upstairs in one jump). He grabbed his backpack, and shoved the newly sewn and clean Spider-Man suit. He ran back down stopping inches away from Lexi as he gave her another quick kiss... he couldnt help himself!

He opened the door for her, and once she was outside, they headed down the street. "I also brought my camera..." He said with a smile. He was a believer of having a picture for a fantastic memory, and this absolutely was one, but he felt that he was going to take very few. He was a photographer, but he knew when something was too beautiful and good, he should enjoy it then than enjoying it later when its gone. "Alright, quick detour in this alley..." He said to her, holding on to her hand. It was soft, and small. It fit perfectly in Peter's hand (he thought so. Everything about her was perfect right now).

Peter quickly changed in to the the blue and red suit behind a dumpster, planning on ripping off his mask as soon as they got to their destination. "Welcome to Spider Airlines." he said, a grin hidden behind the mask, extending his arm for her to take. "Hold on tight, please keep all hands and feet inside the vehicle at all times, and dont worry. I won't let you go." The last part meant many things for him that he hoped she knew. He wasn't going to let her go when swinging (He was extremely excited for her to feel the rush of being above the air like no one has ever experienced, he knew she would love it, he was her best friend after all), he was never going to let her go without a fight. She meant way too much to him, as a best friend and his love. He wasn't going to let her down either... He was determined to be the best boyfriend he could possibly be. He knew he was going to be picked on when the school found out, but he could easily deal with that. Spider-Man was a priority to him still, but Lexi's happiness was his main priority... He really hoped that he didn't mess any of this up. He knew he wasn't perfect...

"One... two... Three!" He counted, and leapt in to the air. He shot a web, and they flew in to the air, feeling Lexi hold on tight to him. He kept an arm around her tight, but not to an uncomfortable amount. He swung nice and easy, the air rushing against them. He took his time getting to the spot, the New York Sunday was beautiful, they were high enough to know that Spider-Man was out and about, and holding someone, but they would only assume that it was someone in need of assistance. he smiled big the whole time, seeing Lexi look around in amazement, no longer as afraid of nervous he thought. Then they went higher and higher until he reached a rooftop. He landed, and let her down gently. The building was right in front of Times Square, the electronic billboards shinning, some still reporting on Spider-Man and Lexi's encounter with the new super villain of New York: The Green Goblin.

The air was warm, the breeze very small. Peter took his mask off, shoving it in the backpack he brought with him. "So? What do you think?" He asked, about both the ride and the view. It was one of his favorite spots to just relax and do homework, or just watch the people. Crime always seemed to come through Times Square.

As Peter leapt up the stairs, skipped quite a few, her eyes went wide, whatever had happened to Peter was a good thing, he brought his confidence up, increased his abilities and just seem to make him a happier person when he embraced the happiness of the situation. The extra confidence was exciting to see in a friend and a very attractive feature to find in a boyfriend. Leaning up against the door she let out a small sigh, she had liked him for so long but didn’t really know how to approach it with how long they had been friends. Sometimes a girl will accidently put the guy in the ‘friend-zone’ category and while she might have done that to Peter before, she never ever wanted ot. So the fact that they were now officially dating was not only exciting for him but for her as well.

The kiss at the door was simple but still heart pounding at the same time. The butterflies in her stomach was not just from nervousness of the travel but excitement of everything that had just happened; finding out he was Spider-Man, her secret other crush, hearing his honest story of how it happened and the agreement to make themselves an item; a team she never wanted to break apart. As he opened the door she gave him a cheesy curtsey and stepped outside, slipping her hand into his as they walked, she laced in her fingers; a perfect fit. “I’m glad you did.” She said brightly to him when he informed her that he had grabbed his camera. There was no doubt in her mind that she would want a photo of this occasion. It was better than a photo of Spider-Man; a photo with her boyfriend who just so happens to be Spider-Man.

Disappearing into an alleyway was a new one but she turned away, giving him his privacy as he did whatever he was going to do. Maybe she shouldn’t have been surprised when she turned around to see him in his Spider-Man outfit but she was; the bright smile said she was okay with it even though she gave a slightly shocked look when she turned. The familiar situation of taking his arm was nice; although this time he wasn’t pulling her from a burning building. A laugh left her as he called it Spider Airlines and slid into him, wrapping her arms around his waist. When he said he wouldn’t let her go she placed her hand gently against his chest over his heart, her blue eyes twinkled up at him as her lips curled into a gentle smile. “I trust you never would.” She said gently and ZOOM, they were off.

The feeling of flying over New York City was incredible. The view was astounding; her eyes were wide, though she was afraid to open her mouth in case they happened to come across a group of bugs. People were putting upwards at them and some waving. She didn’t pay them any mind though; she was too busy enjoying the stunning travels. His building of choice was perfect, you could look directly at the news field on the TV and the massive amounts of tourists, locals and scalpers roaming around Time Square. The gentle breeze moved her hair around her as she wondered over to the edge and looked out upon the scene. Her eyes wide in shock before she finally turned around, hearing Peter’s voice not muffled by the mask.

A large grin moved across her face as she looked back out upon the view. “This is incredible!” She said with a nod as she turned back around and walked towards him. “Now I understand why you don’t drive. If I could do that I’d never drive again.” Walking her way to him she slid her arms around his neck, a smile across her face. “I never realized how muscly you had gotten…” Her face turned a little pink; why was she still embarrassed around him! It was Peter, her Peter and yet she was still blushing, “Is… is it a bad thing that I find you just as attractive in your Spider-Man suite as I do when you’re in your street clothes?” she asked sheepishly as her gazed moved up to meet his soft brown eyes, against she bit gently down on her bottle lip. Why?! Why am I nervous!? Because it’s the relationship I’ve wanted for a long time, that’s why.

Peter laughed and watched her walk towards him, and wrap her arms around her neck. At her comment he shrugged. "To be fair I don't really tend to show off my body... ignore the skin tight suit i am wearing at the moment." he added, putting his forehead on hers, and his hand on her hips. He could stare at her beautiful eyes all day. He never thought to see the day that she would be nervous in front of him... He found it really adorable. He shook his head.

"Nah, its not weird... I find you incredibly beautiful in pretty much anything." He said honestly. He couldn't believe now that she was hers. He moved his lips to her cheek, kissing it softly. He gave a small laugh. "You know, out of all the times i thought about us... I never thought we would be on a rooftop with me in a leotard... but i did know you would be extremely irresistible, and would drive me crazy with your smile." He said honestly, car horns and the sound of traffic down below was barely audible, the billboards and shining lights weren't visible, what was his best friend (now girlfriend) somehow being attracted by him.

“You really don’t tend to show off your body?” She repeated in a slightly sarcastic yet extremely playful tone. “The first time I met you as Spider-Man you knowledged the fact that you were in a skin time outfit and even pointed at it; when you point at something almost everyone will look.” Rolling her deep blue eyes at him, she gave him a cheeky smile, reminding him that she was only joking. He was so gentle and yet, so strong, so rough and yet so kind, to defense yet so caring; she got the best of both worlds, a strong protector and a caring and loving friend. Spider-Man and Peter Parker as one person, the one person she was proud to consider her boyfriend.

When he said he found her incredibly beautiful, her face turned red, normally she got that she looked ‘hot’ from her ex-boyfriends but hearing that she looked beautiful was much more of a complement; especially from someone who was as important to her as Peter. With his forehead against hers, she looked into those soft brown eyes of his; there were times where she’d just get lost staring into them when he would go on and on about something to do with science or photography. Not that she didn’t find it interesting; she loved learning from Peter, but she’d just find herself hypnotized,

She couldn’t hold back the smile that he commented about but she did find the words to speak. “I’ve liked you for a long time Peter, I mean a very very long time,” Lexi said stretching the word to show its importance. “I’ve always found fun to be around and quirky funny in your own unique and unmatched way but it wasn’t until we started to inch closer and closer to this whole adulthood thing that I started to realize that my feelings for you were a lot deeper than a friendship. Which is why I haven’t dated anyone for the past couple of years,” Oh yes, she knew how sought after she was at school but that never mattered to her. “Then you showed up as Spider-Man, sweeping me off my feet, literally,” At that word she rolled her eyes playfully before looking back at him, “protecting me and watching over me as a true friend would. And now I get the best of all worlds; I get my protector, my inspiration, my best friend and my boyfriend all in one. I don’t think there is single person in New York that’s happier than me.”
