Full Name: Takeshi Yasei

Nickname: Keshi, by his little sister, but only his little sister

Age: 16

Gender: Male

Land or Sea: Land

Personality: If you want a friend that doesn't really care, Takeshi is your man. He's very standoffish, violent and likes to cause trouble. He spends most of his time in detention and in school suspension, but on the rare occasion he's allowed in class, he usually isn't there. He has his days where he actually decided to be a good student and shows up to class, after much chastising from his little sister, but those are few and far between. The teachers aren't much of a fan of him either, and usually dread running across his name on their roll. He, of course, finds humor in this. Takeshi won't pick a fight with someone out of the blue, but he won't hold back if they piss him off enough. He's doesn't get bad marks, so he's somewhat bright, but he just never shows up to class. He doesn't know what to think about the Sea students coming in, but he's sure he'll find a fight with them somewhere like he does with everyone. He also has an irrevocable fear of the sea, although he won't admit to it. He tends to keep far away from it, usually disappointing Ai, who doesn't understand why.

Biography: Takeshi grew up through elementary school being bullied by the other kids because of his eye color. They were brown, but almost like a mahogany brown, so they appeared a dark red in the sunlight. He blamed it on the fact they were just scared of the unknown and forgave them for it. In third grade, his father was on a fishing boat when it went down, mere miles from the shore. Takeshi had shown his father off that day and watched, helpless, as the ship went down. The other fisherman said they had hit an unseen reef and tore the bottom out. When they pulled his father's body from the water, they found that he had been knocked out by the bar that held the nets on the boat and that was the reason he hadn't tried to saved himself. The head injury and soon drowning led to his father's death. Since then, he stayed far away from the sea and its inhabitants. His mother moved them to a home high on the hill that was miles away from the coast. Takeshi, of course, had to ride his bike every day to elementary school after that, rather than walk. Due to his father's death, he began to act out, taking most of his anger out on the same classmates that tried to bully him.

A couple of years past and his mother met another man that she fell in love with. At the age of eleven, his mother discovered she was pregnant and she and the man married. He was a good man with a good job, so life was comfortable for a while. Takeshi turned fourteen and his mother found that she had cancer. It came and took her quickly, leaving Takeshi with a step-father and half sister. The man changed, claiming he took no responsibility, and left. To support Ai and himself, Takeshi turned to delinquency. He began getting involved in fighting rings and being a runner for some of the local "bad" groups. After Ai started kindergarten, she soon decided to speak her mind and tell him she didn't like it. He soon found a new job at a restaurant as the assistant chef, where he still works now. He often threatens other students to keep their mouth shut if they see him.

Crush: He wouldn't admit a crush, even if he had one. Not even to Ai, his little sister. However, he tends to find Nakamura's naivety somewhat amusing.

The underwater villages in this Roleplay could have barriers built to protect them from predatory sea animals. This causes a small ecosystem to form, and to stop the fish from overpopulating, the sea people would gather some of them up and either eat them or put them on the other side of the barrier.
As for the plankton, the art style of the show makes the water clear, but there are plankton and sea life and what not.

That makes sense, I was expecting barriers. However, by taking away the predators of the natural ecosystem, you can collapse/severely warp the original ecosystem. This is evident in how the Wolves of Yellowstone changed the rivers. So I am assuming that I can describe the water as being less clear, because in the Anime it was artistic license that it was changed.

I wouldn't know what to say about the predatory part, although they could let them in once and awhile. They let the predatory fish in once a month for a whole week and when it's over, they chase the predators out and the barrier goes back up.
You describe the water that way, it's fine.

Still wouldn't work. However, the larger sharks that would attack humans wouldn't be around as much, only the smaller sharks. However, those would only be a threat to small infants and children, and would be aggressive if approached. Still, I have to take into account that there was a TV underwater in the first episode. Fuck logic.

Interested in both marine and environmental science, he finds himself quite happy when he is near the ocean. He is also an aquarist, and an amateur fish breeder. Although he is not one to start a conversation, he will definitely talk if he is spoken to. Of course, keeping him on the original topic and not leaning back to fish is a difficult task.
Biography: The son of a local aquarium supply store's owner, Vance grew up around fish and aquariums. He has grown his love for them over the years, and has started to even breed his own fish at home. His room is full of plumbing and 50 gallon aquariums. Although he does not do well in the classes he hates, such as English and mathematics, he excels in science related classes. He could care less about the new students, as they are not fish and therefore rather dull.

Other: He has his certified diving lesson, and is quit experienced with SCUBA, as it was the way his family collected Saltwater fish for the aquarium trade. (That's if they even have SCUBA, but I'm assuming they do)

Sweet. And is it possible your character bumps into Jack? It would be a way to get him to interact rather than being a background character that the animators would be too lazy to add detail to.

Just confirming what you mean by PG13:
Swears such as: "Bitch, shit, tits" and ... are allowed in nonsexual meanings. However, the world "Fuck" is only allowed in twice when not used sexually, and not allowed used sexually at all. "Motherfucker" cannot be used at all. That is the parameters for language on PG13 films.
