1624 saw the man run at him and sidestepped then put his elbow in the mans stomach then flipped the pistols around so that the butts of the guns formed baton like weapons, he struck the man in the back four times then saw the authorities making moves, he turned and hit the authority on the car in the head knocking him out cold. The authority on the ground tried to stand up and 1624 kicked him in the head to keep him from doing anything at that point he stepped back and flipped the pistols back so that his fingers were on the triggers and aimed at the man who charged him, 1624 kept taking steps back until he was a safe ways away and continued aiming at the man."Anyone who touches me gets what they got," 1624 said adjusting his grip on the pistols, "That goes for anyone and I mean anyone."

Cassius barely felt the annoying pressure from the pistols hitting his back, he turned around, his own pistol aimed forward toward 1624. "Drop your weapon...this will be your only chance." He spoke in a serious tone, his weapon handling and stance resembled that of a police officer, he stared down the sights, looking at the subject as well. If he was going to try anything then he'd be shot at that moment. He wasn't sure how his female acquaintance would react to all of this though but at the moment it didn't matter.

When Ayrdun's two large meals came along the girl looked more excited by the second, thanking the waiters before turning to her two meals and starting on one. even though she used a knife and fork she still managed to scoff half of it down in only a couple of minutes like some sort of hungry beast, and once she had finished that plate she moved right on to the next almost without stopping.Even after those two meals the bluenette still felt hungry, as great as the human food was she was use to like eating two cows whole and sometimes even bigger. Stacking her plates up she then grabbed the menu and scanned over it again, the girl then remembered that Ren was there as well and peeked up to him with a smile "Oh I'm sorry I almost forgot you were there" She laughed "Love my food. I'm sorry if my table manners aren't the best" She bowed her head a little before returning to the menu to find a last meal for herself.

Ren's mouth was... agape. How much did this girl even eat in that minuscule amount of time!? And now it looked like she was ordering more! Where did it all even go anyway? It would've made a lot more sense if she was big and imposing, but she was just... normal, usual, regular looking. '...Not even gonna try anymore,' Ren thought, completely defeated by the illogical sight before him. "Err... Yeah, it's fine," the ESPer answered sheepishly once Arydun popped up from her spot again to apologize for her lack of manners. Not that Ren noticed any lack of manners over the mental pollution just thrown upon him. It was better to think of logical things. Like the girl's race. All that food has to go somewhere, meaning there was likely a 'true form' to discover. That culled off a few of his options he noted, as he began putting down fingers to indicate ones left. "...Dragon or Demon," Ren settled.

Ayrdun grinned as she waved a waiter over to order again along with another drink for herself, he to looked surprised but took her order and went off to get it cooked when she insisted she could pay for it all. Looking happy with herself as she turned back to Ren with a pleasantly charming and friendly smile, she wondered what to say though or what to do to break the Ice between them.
"So, Ren was it? What do you do around here? uh...Well for a living or...something along those lines or something" She asked him not quiet sure what words she should use, though she wasn't to far off from what she should use she was sure. The Bluenette after making a slight frowny face to trying to get her words right went right back to smiling again, placing her chin in her hands as she waited for Ren to reply to her hoping he would understand. He probably did though she though to herself or he would be able to figure it out. Human communication is rather different to a dragons way of speak.

Upon returning to the place where the gunshots were heard, the unnerving scene of Cassius and the half ling pointing guns at each other made Bernabe feel both disappointment because the mercenary hadn't managed to reduce the suspect and surprise because she actually though the half ling suffered from expressive aphasia and there was no way he could have recovered in an instant and be capable of speaking full sentences. Trying to appear as calm as possible; but bearing in mind that the small gun of the half ling could damage her, not to mention the blood staining her clothes, she approached them and said:

"I believe you actually had something to say before we departed ways and now you have remembered it?

She turned to Cassius and lowered her voice so only him could hear what she said next

"Mister Hale, I would like to ask you not to kill this man, so try not to open fire. Fear not for my life, he can't kill me (only cripple me), so about you, do you find yourself capable of surviving a gunshot?"

She then turned to the half ling again and after approaching she continued

"Well, I supposed a bit of my time could be spared, but lets do the proper introductions this time."

She put a tender smile and offered her hand

"I'm Bernabè, angel Power of the juridical council of Empyrean and police commissioner of the third district. The gentleman you are aiming at is Cassius Hale, my bodyguard."

Cassius gave a slight smile when he looked toward his acquaintance, he wasn't hurt by bullets much, his bones were way too dense. "I'm not affected by bullets...my bone structure and internal organs are resistant to gunfire..." He said to her, his pistol was still aimed until he lowered his weapon, holstering it.

He raised his eyebrows a bit when she revealed that she was an angel, this gave him some obligation to protect her. Why would he let someone so divine like herself be harmed. When he was introduced as a bodyguard he smirked a bit. He stared at the subject, fearlessly staring down the gun.

"My name is project sixteen twenty four. As opposed to one six two four as your pronounced it earlier in the restaurant. And your friend here may be resistant to bullets but I'm sure if I hit him in the sweet spot," 1624 said slightly moving his pistol as to hit the small hole where the eye connected to the inner workings of the skull, "I'm sure his brain wont heal if the bullets stay in, as he stated his bones are too strong for the bullet to pass out the other side."

1624 smirked slightly. He knew he wasn't intimidating them well enough and spun one of the pistols in his hand and set it into the back of his pants. He held the other one in the face of the bodyguard, 1624 was not willing to allow this man to move. Too dangerous, after all he was able to catch up to him and bring him to the ground.

"I cannot understand why I am capable of speaking now as opposed to before, its as if my mind shifted into a separate form of itself. One evolved and one a casual simpleton type form, like the one you saw in the restaurant. I would very much like to continue this conversation off the streets, I do not trust this open environment. And I trust you will understand if we go inside I will need to have both of your weapons, I do not fully know either of your capabilities. So Bernabè, angel Power of the juridical council of Empyrean and police commissioner of the third district, how can I help you and Bodyguard here?"

Bernabè retired the hand, a bit disappointing by the fact that he hadn't returned the handshake, but nonetheless, she had, at least, managed to make him drop one of the weapons, so maybe with a bit of luck she wouldn't have to resort to close quarters combat to immobilize or break the half ling because his idea of shooting the eyes of a super soldier in order to harm it was rather praiseworthy, but he had attacked a pair of policemen and threatened her and Cassius and with weapons that he had stolen, and on top of that he had broken the glass door of the bar and the poor barmaid had to spend some time cleaning the mess, so there would be no praise for him

"I understand your demands, yet I definitely find them excessive, because as much as you do not trust us because of the lack of knowledge of our skills, the same could be applied to us. Since we do not know your intentions, mister Twenty Four, and by your looks you appear to have ran away from somewhere, we can't trust, much less provide with weaponry someone that definitely isn't part of the competent authorities."

Bernabé paused for a moment and looked at the two unconscious guards, ("more like incompetent authorities")

"So how about a deal, I'm (technically) unarmed, so Cassius will get rid of his arms if you agree to do the same. Don't you think that would be the most logical thing? That way we would be on equal terms. Your other option is risking a tricky shot with a nine millimeters and then, if you succeed, being hung for first degree murder or shot down by the policemen that will come after you when all the witnesses in the nearby windows, who had arrived after listening to the gunshots, call them, and honestly, I don't want to reach that outcome."

Ren gave her a look that said 'are you okay?'. Not in a concerned, 'how much does it hurt?' way - more like the 'what the hell is your problem?' way. It was natural, after all. He was a teenager, and there wasn't really much he could do 'for a living'. Sure, the question itself wasn't all that odd - could've just been a mistake in wording - but the way she phrased it sounded really unnatural. Like she'd never done this before. Ren gave her a look over, she didn't seem to have some type of mental handicap... So why did she act all awkward? He doubted it was some type of antisocial disorder, given that it was her that approached him. "Well," the ESPer began slowly, still a bit absorbed in thought, "I'm a student. At a school. Like anyone else my age." Truthfully, it was a little on the rude spectrum of blunt how he said it, but he got his point across. Speaking of which...

"You've been asking me a lot of questions," Ren said, "how 'bout I ask you one? What do you do for a living?"

"Oh, that sounds great" Arydun smiled like she didn't even notice the look Ren gave her, or notice the tone of voice he used when answering her question. The dragonette as her second order of food came along was about to dig in to it when Ren decided to ask her a question, stopping with her fork half way to her mouth as she blinked to the human boy "Uh....." She started as she placed her fork down "I...Well I don't go to any school that's for sure. Never have been in a position to go to such a place. I...um...travel a lot and I pick up work where I...where I can..yea that's right. Like working in kitchens to wash the uh..plates and cups and the like and picking fruit from trees. You know this and that" She told Ren. Arydun although she wasn't really lying about what she did, still seemed to struggle with certain human words and way of speech. Stammering at some points as she tried to remember what to say.
Once she replied to Ren's question the girl then returned to eating, stuffing her face with the meal and like the others it was gone in minutes.

Zylar cautiously examined the area surrounding himself. This vigilant stare was commonly done by Zylar when he felt uncomfortable or wasn't familiar with his current location. He was looking upon the Academic City of Elfteria. Never before had Zylar traveled to this part of Uno Mundus and good reason for it. Academic settings gave higher chance for civilians and children especially. More civilians and school indulging individuals usually meant more innocent bystanders to step in his way. There are few things in life that Zylar hates more then someone interfering with his work or trying to stand in his way.

Zylar or Glide as everyone knows him as, was recently offered employment by someone in the Academic City of Elfteria. Normally Zylar would of shunned the idea of this employment option. However there are times when the pay is just to good to refuse the job. Sadly this was one of those cases.

In the distance Zylar could see a cafe and several other buildings that hosted restaurants. Though Zylar's focus was not food by far. He also didn't need to check in with his employer for a few days. Zylar figured not knowing the area, it would be smarter to arrive earlier then expected. So he could see what he could learn of the Academic City of Elfteria.

For a few moments, Zylar suspected that he heard some sort of gunfire. Shrugging it off, he continues to examine the area and people carrying about their daily lives. “What a drag.....” Were the only words he could muster under his breath as he contemplated what action to take next.

1624 lowered his first pistol and then pulled the pistol he had set in the back of his pants. He set gave them back to the two authorities. He turned back to the woman and then looked once again at the man that was aiming a gun at him. 1624 stared into his eyes reading the man, he watched the mans posture and made sure he wasn't antsy. After a brief 10 seconds of looking he understood the man was military, he figured as a soldier the man was capable of not flinching behind the trigger.

"Lead the way," 1624 said walking towards the woman in the authorities uniform.

"Thank you for your comprehension. Cassius, if you could please stop aiming at Mister Twenty Four...

Bernabé walked towards the unconscious guards and retrieved a set of steel handcuffs, she showed them to the half ling and said.

"Since I saw that your strength is abnormal and you are more than capable of breaking them, take this as a formality, as a way to not attract suspicions from the witnesses."

Said this, She put the handcuffs on the front of 1624, designed for humans, dwarves, elves and similar creatures, those kind of handcuffs would be useless against the raw strength of super soldiers, angels and similar, and that "similar" is what Bernabé wanted to know about the half ling. She made a gesture and moved towards a close by alley, one that didn't have windows and that was cut from the views of any possible passerby. Once there, she waited for the half ling to enter as well before starting her questioning, at that point he could break the handcuffs if he wanted for all she cared. The angel retrieved from her pocket the head lice he had taken from the head of the man before and talked

"See this? Technically it's your blood sample. I was going to run some test on it in the laboratory at the academia, but since you seemed so cooperative, I suppose you could save me some time by answering the following question. Based on what you said and what I've saw earlier, it's clear that you are not a normal half-ling, so Who Are You?"

"Its just 1624," 1624 said "No need to make it into a name."

"Since I saw that your strength is abnormal and you are more than capable of breaking them, take this as a formality, as a way to not attract suspicions from the witnesses" Bernabé said as she dangled handcuffs in front of him. He half heartily grabbed them and set them onto his own wrists, in front of the ones previously broken that rested on his wrists. He followed her into the ally way and noticed her pull a head lice from her pocket, he took four steps and grabbed it from her then flicked it aside.

"Based on what you said and what I've saw earlier, it's clear that you are not a normal half-ling, so Who Are You?" She said.

"I only know I'm Project 1624, its all they ever called me, and as to who the 'they' I speak of is I have no clue either," 1624 continued "All I know is I've been conscious for only a short amount of time, I remember my name being said over and over and commands being given but no face to put to the voice that gave them. Eventually one day I felt an incredible pain, like something I had never experienced before. I shook and pounded at the case of my reality, eventually it shattered and I spilled out onto the floor of a laboratory. The glass case I had been caged in was labeled 1624, as I stood I felt restraints and noticed I was hooked up to various tubes and IV's. I tore them all from my body, and felt the cold for the first time. I dont remember much after that I remember going mad, insane with rage and fury, I remember people in blue uniforms being injured and some killed as I ran through the laboratory, eventually I found a sign that I could not read but I know now it said exit. I followed the path and burst through a metal door and on the other side I was met with intense light, not like that of my tube or that of the laboratory. I felt the warmth that the sun brings for the first time, I bathed in it for some time after that. Eventually I made my way down the street getting stares from other people passing him by, I noticed they stared at my lower body. It was then I figured out what the purpose of clothes were, I continued down the street until I found a some form of thrift store. I walked in put on some pants and a hoodie then left, the woman behind the counter assumed I had walked in with the clothes on. From there I wandered found a ship and ended up here, after a brief time in a hospital of course."

"Ah, so you're a freeter," Ren nodded, having accepted that answer. It was understandable, more or less. Still, there were quite a few inconsistencies with her supposed job and the story she gave him. The stuttering and stammering didn't help her case either. Mentally he was ticking off various demon subspecies he could remember, as well as some significant wanted criminals from the news for good measure. He didn't bother the girl as she ate quickly, just kept to himself, analyzing what information he had as well as what he could gather from her appearance and visible belongings...

"...That book looks old," Ren remarked, having spotted the aged dragon book Arydun had been hauling around. He couldn't really read the script at all, having declined taking any foreign languages classes, but it didn't look like anything he'd seen in his lifetime. It definitely looked like something that should be at the National Library, in any case. Ren continued, "can't quite decipher the script... Doesn't appear to be a writing that's particularly known or well distributed..." The Terrenian tapped his fingers on the table, "Your story's inconsistent with quite a few things I've picked up, too." Ren felt safe enough. Even if she reacted adversely to what he was going to say, there were too many people for her to start something.

"My hypothesis? You're either a dragon or a thief. Maybe both."

Not able to stay in one place much longer. Zylar picked up his feet and stepped off the street-corner. Walking across the street he heads towards the cafe. Hunger may not be an issue, but a coffee may occupy his time as he contemplated his next move. Learning about a new city or place wasn't as easy as just walking around. At least when it came to Zylar's profession and set of skills. Opening the cafe door he pauses at the entrance.

He wasn't sure if it was natural restlessness, aggression or strength that caused the door to somewhat slam as it closed. Though some minor attention was unfortunately gained by those inside. As Zylar stood at the entrance and examined those inside of the Cafe. He also looked among the tables and seats to find a place to sit. His most notable feature or what grabbed most attention, was the massive great-sword slung on his back. As much as it seemed it would, his weapon didn't get in his way or obstruct movement in the slightest.

His table was one away from the table Arydun and Ren. The only time he payed attention to them was when he passed them to get to his table. While passing Arydun and Ren's table the blade of his great-sword bumped and shook Arydun and Ren's table. Without skipping a beat he went to the empty table or seat. He wasn't facing Arydun and Ren, though his back wasn't towards them either. Now he waited for someone to come take his order. Not really in a rush to get it completed either.

Every once in a while as he sat in his chair, his gaze would shift to the whole room. To very few it may be obvious how cautious or aware Zylar was of his surroundings. Occasionally during his examination of the Cafe surrounding him. His gaze would go past Arydun and Ren. Though like always, he made sure to make his glances brief to not attract attention. So far he wasn't sure if he knew anybody in this city.

"Yea that is exactly what I am" Arydun nodded with a large smile when Ren gave her a name for what she did, it was helpful that her style of living did have a name and it was easy to remember though not that she ever had trouble forgetting things anyway.
Arydun continued to eat her large after she spoke wanting to get right down to licking the plate clean, and she would have done it to if Ren's next words didn't stop her dead in her tracks. He had figured her out and she knew that as soon as he started to ask about her book, stating how old it was and the text on it to how inconsistent her story was before accusing her of being a Dragon and a Thief. Arydun didn't know what to say or do as she had never meet a human this smart before in her life, in truth she didn't know humans got this smart and though their IQ was fairly consistent but not that she was calling them stupid or anything.
"I...I'm not a thief....this book...it was doing nothing but gathering dust where it was originally, with me it can serve it's true purpose as only I know why it was created in the first place" The Dragonette sighed a little "I guess I need to work on my cover story don't I? I knew it wasn't the best but I never imagined a mere human would figure me out. Don't get me wrong I'm not calling your kind unintelligent. time has jut moved on faster than I have realized" She explained herself as she turned her almost sad innocent eyes towards Ren begging him not to judge or tell any body what she was or about what the book was.
The new stranger who entered the cafe and sat close by didn't go unnoticed by the female dragon, she had taken note of everyone who had entered or left the cafe but he seemed different. Arydun's attention though was being pulled in another direction with Ren as she started to fee nervous over being found out, what if he tried to call someone or try to take her book away from her?.

Bernabé listened silently the whole story of 1624 and realized three things. One, she wouldn't call him just by a number, that was too unprofessional. Second, his existence proved that there were currently being biological weaponized experiments, which violated a part of the "Cultural Exchange Between Species Bill" and the laws created after the achievement of peace after the great war against the Weapons, and although she wasn't on work duty, she had to report it to the authorities, to be more exact, her superiors. And the third and last thing she realized is that the hour of her appointment with the school was close and she had to leave or else she would be late, time had passed quicker than she though.

"Well, mi..."
She was about to call the half ling "mister twenty four again" but quickly rectified and after clearing her throat she started again, entirely omitting the name

"That was rather relevant information, and I think my superiors would love to listen to your story and find the ones who did all of that to you, by the lawful way, of course. However, my time is limited, and I need to attend an appointment."

However, she couldn't just leave the half ling in a such a matter that she wouldn't be able to find him later, so after a quick thinking she took her communication device from Pitover and she gave it to the half ling, it was unusable in Elfteria anyway, but it still had a function

"This technically will work as a tracking device. If I press a button on my holographic pager it will show me were that device is located. Additionally, if you press the wrong combination of buttons three times I will receive a message telling me were it is. Don't toss it away or think of selling it, it's worthless in this country."

Then she turned to Cassius

"Mister Hale, I hope you don't take badly the fact that I've decided to employ you as my bodyguard so suddenly, you might refuse the offer if you want to, but if you don't I'll meet you in front of the Academia at midday today, here is my number so you can send a message with your decision."

She wrote the phone number in the back of one her presentation cards and handed it to the super soldier. Before leaving, she said one last thing to the half ling

"One more thing. If your name isn't sixteen twenty four, then what should I call you?"

Cassius had holstered his weapon as his new employer had asked him, at least that was over. Thing were much more civil now that they were just speaking, he looked over at the angel for a moment as he heard her speak in her serene voice. He looked at her a d managed a small smile when she explained herself to him, he didn't mind at all, he was just glad to be employed. Being hired by a literal angel like herself was an added bonus, he grabbed the card with her number on it and wondered where she was going. If he was her bodyguard then, he'd have to make sure she was well guarded. That meant he'd need his suit, he needed to be fully equipped for his job. "Thank you for this, angel.." He said, a small smirk on his face, he broke into a full sprint after, overtaking the fast moving cars and eventually getting to his home, taking the elevator down to his armory.

'Bingo,' Ren thought triumphantly once he saw the bluenette in front of him literally freeze in place while licking her plate off. It seemed he had hit the bullseye in his accurate guesses. It seemed this day was going to be more interesting than he had originally expected. Not that that was saying anything. The only 'interesting' thing that seemed to happen to him was that under-yet-over-classman coming to bother him every now and then. He leaned onto his palm, elbow balanced on the table.

''Gathering dust' eh? So she's either a treasure hunter... or a thief, in addition to being a dragon,' Ren noted, a wry smile forming on his face, 'And that's what dragon script looks like? Huh. Interesting.' He didn't completely believe that Arydun was telling the truth when she said that only she could unlock its true potential or whatever she meant by her statement. It sounded like something from one of those anime shows he saw occasionally on TV, truth be told. Though, he did have a pretty decent idea of what he could do to get a legitimate answer, or to verify her claim's truth.

"Alright," Ren said, leaning back into his chair and crossing his arms, "what exactly are you going to do with that book? Hmm?"

Arydun lowered her head as she held the book to her chest, the look on her face was nervous and almost shameful but she knew she was stealing it for the right cause. If she didn't need to she would have left it where it was for it was safe there, the dragonette hoped that she could grab it and leave before anyone really noticed it was gone.
She glanced up to Ren as he asked her why she needed to steal the book, she could see in his eyes that he was trying to figure her out and judging her based on his assumptions.

Considering whether or not she should tell him Arydun decided, maybe it wouldn't hurt to tell one human if it will get him off her tail "I...I was hoping that it would help me save my race"
Arydun spoke with truth in her voice as she continued to look to Ren, an innocent hopefulness fulled her green eyes but they also seemed sad "and maybe then...I could find someone like me who can teach me magic. I only know half of what I am capable off. I have meet many others..but never another spirit dragon like me" She continued as she gazed down again to the table.
Just by her words and the look in her eyes one would be able to see that Arydun, no matter how old she looked or acted was still very young maybe even still just a child in dragon standards. Her innocent hopes that an ancient book could save their dying kind, though a child she may be the Spirit dragon was one of the most intelligent of dragon kind and she knew that the book could help her.
