POST 1 of the MEGA COLLAB:Mercy looked around at the small gathering of students, she drummed her fingers on the arm of the lifeguard chair. Ah sod it... “Alright! Lets get this show on the road people” Mercy announced standing up on the lifeguard chair her voice proving to be rather loud without the megaphone. “So for the first game we’ve got Waterballoon Dodgeball!” She continued. “We’re going to need two teams so how about we go for a traditional Guys Vs Girls” Mercy grinned deviously at the crowd. “I’m going to lay out the rules now listen up!" Mercy continued, pausing for a moment as Koop hovered over to her side. “Rule number 1: No powers! If you’re going to play this, you have to play it the old fashioned way. Rule number 2: No foul play, if you cheat you’re out no ifs no butts. Rule number 3: Keep it clean, lets not let this get out of hand any violence and you’re out of the games. Rivalry can be fun but don’t let it get the better of you” She told the students. “Now then, for the first event I want both teams to line up on either side of the court, once you’re in position and ready to go I’ll tell you how this game works” Mercy finished, handing the megaphone to Koop who opened his messenger bag and shoved it back inside. “Alright Koop, you’re my eyes in this, best start making your rounds” Mercy smiled fondly at the small creature, reaching up and rubbing the base of one of his ears before he dove into the gathering students.
Lily turned to look at Mercy talking about some sort of game. Her thoughts returned to the time back at the school. Why had she not remembered her? Her thought prompted her to get up and get closer, nevermind the game. She play along though, if only to see what was up with Mercy. The woman had been like a second mother to her, it was weird for her not to remember her. She steered her mind away from thinking about Bael, the thoughts too harsh to even think about. She wanted to believe and she felt she had to deep down but... She hated him as well. She'd seen past his fake mask. She saw, deep down, his lust for power. She'd seen this coming. Still, even with her body and mind back to the way it was before, why did she still want to believe him? She shook the thought away and walked up to the crowd forming.
"What's going on?" She asked, curious. Rules? No powers? She tilted her head again and smiled softly. She walked over to one side of the court and stood to wait, her bathing suit dripping wet water onto the hot sand.
Noticing the two that had just arrived at the beach, Ara was about to poke Carmen and point them out to her but stopped once another announcement was made. The whole no powers things suited him just fine. He didn't see how his ability would have helped out with the game anyway. B's maybe, but not his. With a devious smirk on his face, he walked over to where the two red-haired people (Crash & Kathy) were and held his hand out to the guy. "Looks like we're on the same team then. Remember me from the bar? I'm Ara."
Chris blinked as she stepped out of her personal home and noticed people standing on the beach next to hers. She tilted her head to the side and narrowed her eyes, eyeing the people at the beast. A few females and a few males. A frown formed on her face at the thought of females. Who were these people anyway? This was a relatively small island. Unless the old man decided to finally allow someone to buy the property... Wanting to at least know more, Chris decided to walk over to the group, her camera bouncing against her thigh as she walked. She had on tan knee length shorts and a t-shirt with a button up male shirt over top of it, her camera slung over her shoulder.
Darwin's head picked up when he heard the announcement. Water balloon dodgeball? Just what he needed! He hadn't dine it in a while though so his skills were a but rusty but he didn't need skills. He took a handful of skittles and quickly downed them. He walked up to the crowd with a giant amazing face plastered on. "Alright, I'm here to throw water balloons and eat skittles. And guess what I'm all outta skittles." He laughed a bit and hopped over to a new person. New people were always good fun, and look at that camera. He reckoned he could probably majestic it 20% more awesome. "Hey there!" He laughed running up to her. "Darwin, nice to meet ya',
Chris turned to see a rather... coloful idividual walk up to her. She chuckled at him and smiled brightly.
"Nice to meet you Darwin. I'm Chris. I... uh... live here." She explained, grinning at him.
"Do you know why all of you are here? I mean... You don't have to leave, I'm just curious." She asked, wanting to know more. This guy seemed like a pretty chill dude, she figured she could get along with him.
Vanessa gated the sun. Now she was forced to sit outside on the annoying sand while the torturous sun hit her like she loved it. She was in her black swimming suit sitting down watching the events unfold. She didn't want to get involved she must preferred to just watch. She sat there with her parasel and began thinking to herself abiyt everyone being eatwn by a giant shark that would come out if the ocean.
Darwin grinned a huge terrifying grin at the girl before him. She definetly dud not look or dress like any of the other girls around here, that was odd. But Darwinudnt dress like the bits because they had no dress sense, maybe that was her reason too. "Nice to meet you Chris! Well we're here for a pretty lax summer vacation at that beach house. It's a pretty cool place but right now where having a beach Olympics! Wanna join in? You could come with me and we could own at it! It's be awesome!" With that he delved his hands into his pockets before they re emerged with handfuls if skittles. "Skittle?"
Alex stood on the dock, the sound of the boat puttering away from the dock behind him. He took a deep breath, his nerves starting to get the better of him. He swallowed, and looked around, his eyes scanning the beach. Why he had to come here, he didn't know. He'd almost rather wait until the school opened back up again. But, the principal said that there would be classes he'd have to take here. Well, not have to take but... He sighed. He was already messing up even in his own thoughts.
Alex walked over to the people standing by the shore and looked around at them. He heard something about a team. Boys versus Girls? He looked over at the boys and then at the girls. He'd rather be on the girls side... The guys would just make fun of him...
Crash glanced up at Mercy as she announced how the teams would be split he exhaled a sigh, lifting a hand to his neck. He hated Boys Vs Girls...He glanced round at Kathy. "I think we're safe as long as he doesn't come over..." Crash murmured to her, though at that moment he noticed Ara begin to move in their direction. "Aww damn" He muttered, looking skyward for a brief moment someone up there really had it in for him. Crash forced himself to smile at Ara, taking the hand offered to him shaking it briefly as he processed what Ara had said. "I do remember you, I'm Crash" Crash introduced himself, failing to say it was 'Nice to meet him' there was a slight tenseness present in his shoulders
Chris raised a brow at the guy, a small chuckle escaping her lips. She took the skittle, her anger at her home being invaded gone. She was a pretty easy going person, after all. She nodded with a smile and began walking toward the court. Well, until she remembered the girls. She stopped mid-step and looked up, trying to decide. Should she? Really? She let out a long sigh and continued on, heading for the others.
Garden smiled as she hear the first even was waterballon dodgeball...what ever that is. Also it was boys vs girl which is aslo peeked her interest. 'Boy versus girls? that is a first.' She though, it was always a mixed group and she didn'nt know much about it...she looked around, maybe to talk to one of her teammates? She notced a girl with white hair (Oona) and maybe she thought she could talk to her. She looked back at Anedine and waved to her. " I will be right back!" She curtsied to her then walked towards the girl."Uh, Exucse me but do you mind if I ask something...what is water dodge ball?"
"Oh good. I was hoping you didn't forget." Ara replied, giving him a firm shake as Crash introduced himself. Catching how tense he was he added, "Hey now, relax. We haven't even started the games yet." He was clearly just playing dumb. He knew exactly why Crash was tense but it was more fun to pretend he had no idea what was going on and get another poke at him while his guard was done. However, glancing briefly at the girl (Kathy) who was behind him he couldn't resist another sly comment. "Don't go easy on the girls just because she'll be on that team, alright?"
Oona was excited by the announcement, she wasn't sure if turning into a giant squid to win was against the rules or not, but she'd find out pretty quickly. then she heard the 'no powers' rule,
'dang,' she thought, 'oh well, i know how to play,' she grinned and looked around again.
the girls against boys simply made her laugh, she quickly hid it but was actually quite excited for this.
Lily let out a tired sigh, already bored of standing there. Once again, she felt like she didn't belong. These people already all had friends and here she was. All of her friends were left behind... or left her. She glanced around at the people gathered and her heart sank. Her eyes rested on a rather colorful girl standing nearby, also looking around. She blinked and then with a small, rather forced smile, spoke.
"Hey. I'm Lily. You are?" She asked, introducing herself to the girl.
Ryuu blinked.
Wait. The otaku put up a hand by his chin, thinking to himself. Now that he thought about it, there was apparently some sort of "B-tch Olympics", though he was absolutely certain that "B-tch Olympics" was NOT the official title of the contest. In fact, it sounded more like "
Beach Olympics" when he actually used his brain. With a thoughtful look, he stared down at the ground, as if he were thinking about destroying it.
So he destroyed the ground in front of him just to make his brain process faster. It worked.
Using his head to deliberately smash a sea shell in front of him, he got up, thinking again. He was very weak with sea shells, though if he actually told that to others, he would end up crying like a freaking baby. He did not want to show his stupid fears.
Andromeda seemed to be worried about him, for she asked him if he was okay. The otaku turned to her, his eyes shut as tightly as he could, in order to prevent a nosebleed from recreating a scene from that one Noah's Ark movie.
"I am feelin' freakin' awesome! Hey, let's go to the Bi- er,
Beach Olympics! I think it'll be fun. Fun stuff. Ha. Ha ha. Ha. Ha. Ha."
The sunglasses-wearing otaku simply stood still before turning away at an extreme speed. Steam flew out of his ears, but fortunately, no blood came out of him yet. He glanced at her with a nervous look, looking back at the direction to the Beach Olympics. With her presence literally infecting his mind with unwanted thoughts about the joys of being a farmer, the student stiffly began to head over to the Beach Olympics' location.
That was DAMN CLOSE! I nearly became a fully fledged farmer right there... I wanna be something like... an engineer, not a melon farmer.Kathy couldn't help but let out a sigh in relief when she realized that Ara was not going to be on the same team as her. However... She glanced up at Crash, feeling slightly guilty. Unfortunately, the two of them would definitely be on the same team now. Trying to cheer him up she told him, "Well, you two aren't the only ones on the boys' team. And once the game starts I'm sure we'll all be too distracted to really even notice who's who." Glancing around, it was then that she noticed a blue-haired boy (Alex) that was looking around with a troubled expression.
"Hey." Leaving Crash's side (or rather, his back) for a moment, she went up to him (Alex) with a friendly smile. "You're participating in the Beach Olympics too right?" Because of how troubled he looked she decided to try to set him at ease for now. "I'm Kathy by the way. I'll be on the opposite team as you for this game, but I can introduce someone who'll be on your side if you'd like."
Andromeda stopped when the announcement was made, Ryuu seemed interested in it and he was the only person she really knew around here so she decided she'd stick with him, then she heard the boys versus girls thing and she cringed. Ryuu appeared to be concentrating hard on something, the ground in front of him was suddenly destroyed.
For some reason he then smashed a seashell with his head "Ryuu? are ... are you ok?"
He turned to her, saying he was 'awesome' and suggested they for to the olympics, that it would be fun.
"I don't know, but if you think so then i guess we can"
then he turned extremely fast, she couldn't see his eyes through the sunglasses but he seemed to have a weird look on his face, before turning and heading for the olympics.
Andromeda quickly followed, he seemed to be thinking intensly again, so she didn't think of anything.
Oona turned to the girl who spoke, she appeared to be a plant person who said "Uh, Exucse me but do you mind if I ask something...what is water dodge ball?"
Oona smiled "water dodge ball's actually a sport, not a thing. well more of a game really, you throw balls around at other people while trying not to get hit yourself," she looked the girl over again "does that make sense?"
Crash raised an eyebrow at Ara as he told him to relax, he had expected him to slide in another back hand comment and Crash was rather set on being a good shield. He relaxed a little as Ara seemed to be oblivious to his initial reaction. “I’m rather competitive so there’s little chance of that” He shrugged as if this was an acceptable answer, he wasn’t lying he could get rather competitive...although he already knew he was probably going to go easy on her or get hopelessly distracted, unless of course his clumsiness decided to intervene. He glanced round at Kathy as she spoke to him, a natural smile sweeping across his expression as he looked at her. “This is true” He grinned, almost completely agreeing with her. He watched her move away from him to talk to a blue haired individual, unsure whether he had the willpower to engage with Ara any further...
Lily sighed, watching the girl walked away. Yeah... She could feel that feeling of dread well up inside of her, tears threatening her resolve. She was only here to talk to Mercy yet she couldn't really find a good chance to. She sighed and walked over to a sit down on a lawn chair and wait for everything to begin.
Chris blinked, watching everyone and giggled. Without much thought, she walked over to the boy's side and stood to wait for the game. Most of them would think she was male anyway and she really didn't want to deal with females.
Alex looked up at a girl that had walked up to him. His eyes grew wide as he looked at her. He felt his skin crawl for some reason. He swallowed at looked up at her with big brown puppy dog eyes. A smile slowly spread it's way across his smile and it grew into a rather large, toothy grin.
"No! I wanna be on your team!" Alex told her, the personality switch like a flip switch. The nerves were gone, replaced only with this now rather excited boy. He didn't really care about anyone else at the moment. Just the girl in front of him. He grinned and shrunk his size and flew up to her shoulder to sit happily. As he sat, he hummed happily, content to sit on her shoulder. He'd only meet her a few seconds ago, but he felt like he'd know Kathy his entire life.
Garden listened to her carefully yet like with Anedine and oblley...ball it didn't make much sense nor didn't get the point of it. 'Throw balls at people?...eh?' She tried to wrap her head around that idea but it was still very much a miss to her. "Oh..okay I think...umm oh but thank you by the way for answering, my name is Garden nice to meet you." She curtsied to her and gave a gentle smile.
Oona smiled at the girl and did a little curtsey herself "it's very nice to meet you too Garden, I'm Oona" she chuckled "i can tell you don't quite understand, it's all pointless fun really, the balls are big and made of plastic so they're not that hard to dodge because you can see them coming, and they won't hurt too much when you get hit, it's all just a game to spend the time, and to get a little competitive, anyway" she laughed "are you liking Athalia?"
When Ryuu arrived, he had barely been able to hear what the rules were as he approached the group. Apparently, they were going to be playing "water dodgeball," which the otaku had no problems with. In fact, he wanted something that involved excessive physical movements. Since he had been sitting out of exercises and sports for so long, he needed to just have a "quick" stretch by utilizing the olympics.
Unfortunately, Andromeda claimed that she would be sitting out. The otaku pouted before realizing that if he were to fight her...
The image of watermelons being thrown to the sky by some martial artist came into his mind.
GOOD MOTHER OF GOD! Ryuu, control yourself! He prevented himself from rolling around the ground due to his
virginity manly hormones kicking in, instead simply assuring Andromeda with an extremely awkward grin,
"Heck yeah! If I win a lot, I might treat you and some of my friends to some good food! I'll be thankful if you do cheer me on, though."
The otaku waved at her, turning away to follow the instructions Mercy had given them all. His expression, however- now that Andromeda was not looking at him- looked extremely uneasy. There were way more women than he thought there would be. He initially thought that there would not be any games involving a "Boy VS. Girl" scenario, but then again...
Someone was cheering him on today! Actually, now that he thought about it, no one ever cheered him on in his entire freaking life. He suddenly remembered what Santa Claus told him one night...
A Short Moment in One of Ryuu's Christmas said
"HOLY SH-T, IT'S SANTA!!!"
Santa Claus turned around, petrified by what appeared to be a boy with... a lightsaber?! Who the heck was this kid? Did he utilize the Force as well?
Thankfully enough, that did not seem to be the case, for the boy simply ran up to Santa, crouched, and immediately shouted courageously,
"TELL ME SANTA! Tell me about my problem!"
"...Uh, kid," Santa Claus, who was actually a robber dressed up as Santa Claus, "Sure, I can tell you one thing."
"TELL MEEEEEEEE!"
The robber sighed before putting up an extremely optimistic face. With a happy face, Santa Claus told the boy,
"When in doubt, just think of boobs."
...Wait, what's that got to do with people cheering me on?The otaku gulped. Hopefully, he would not be in the frontlines. He preferred to avoid combat against women in swimsuits until most of them were fouled out...
Garden smiled at her for explaining a bit more on water ballon dodgeball yet...still sees no point. 'I should really try that out I guess...' She gave out a small sigh and nod at Lady Oona. "Thank you for explaining a bit more but...um nevermind I should try it anyway, oh thank you also for asking I am having a very nice time here, lots of good and nice people here and the school seems really cool. How about you Lady Oona, how is your liking at Athalia academy?"
Oona smiled wider as the girl did seem to grasp the concept now, though it still appeared to confuse her a little.
she nodded when the girl said she was having a good time "i'm glad, and i very much enjoy Athalia as well, it's much better then my home, and you don't have to call me Lady, i'm not nobility or anything, it was very nice of you though.
Andromeda went red when she heard 'water' and 'dodgeball' in the same sentance she cleared her throat towards Ryuu "i think i might sit this game out, i'll just ... um ... cheer you on?"
she let out a relieved breath when Ryuu was content to just have her sit by the sidelines and cheer him on, he waved and turned to leave, she waved back.
Garden looked at Lady Oon and sort of blushed. "Oh I am sorry, I have been used to call people and others like that...Lady or Sir, that how I have been raised in my life" She rubbed her head and gave an awkward smile
"That's good." Ara smiled. He was quite competitive himself but... He didn't know which he preferred at the moment: winning the Waterballoon Dodgeball or having some fun creating chaos within the team. There was no real point in consider that right now though. He would just go with the flow once the teams were all divided up and they started the actual games. Then again, he realized there was actually a way to do both at the same time.
'I can always just focus all the balloon hitting to that girl. It'll be in line with the objectives of the game, and it'll probably get under this guy's skin too.' Ara let out a small chuckle. This would be fun.
Little Feather laced her fingers through Lion's mane as they listened to Mercy's announcement.
I can't join in can I? Lion grumbled up at her, his ears drooping as he did. "I'm going to hazard a guess and say no" She answered him with an apologetic smile. "How would you throw 'water balloons'?" She asked him spelling out Water balloons as she spoke.
...I don't know...I could be your noble steed? Rain death from the lion's back He purred up at her grinning as she laughed at the image.
Oona realized she was making the girl uncomfortable "you can call me that if you like but you don't have to" she smiled again "i think you'll enjoy dodgeball, as long as no one messes it up by being overly violent, but she did mention that in the rules so it should be fun" she chuckled and ran a hand through her hair.
Kathy was a little surprised when the boy (Alex) suddenly shrank down and got on her shoulder, but overall the situation was rather adorable and she couldn't help but laugh. "But it'll be hard for you to play like this don't you think? And Mercy just announced that you're not allowed to use your powers during this game." His face was rather close to hers but she didn't feel embarrassed looking at him as she talked. After all, he seemed like a child. Smiling warmly she continued, "There's someone really nice on the boys' team and I can introduce you to him. Can you please tell me what your name is?"
Garden nodded to her and took a quick second to look around. "I wonder when it will start, I am really excited for sand scuplting, I did sculpt alot back home but never with sand." SHe clapped her hands together, getting ready for the first event. "Oh I am so excited!" She said really happily as she around the beack for some ispiration for the sand scuplying event. "What should I make...."
Seven laughed a bit from listening that Mr.Lion wanted to join but how a big..
flabby cat like him able to do that? A noble steep? Seven couldn't stop laughing drom what Mr. Lion was saying but he remmebered somthing...water balloon dodgeball...water ballon....water.... Seven gave a loud hiss, making his back arch and fur stand at ends. He immedietly ran underneath Mr. lion and make sure he will not be affected by it.
"No water...no water Alex blinked, a visible frown forming on his face.
"I don't have to play, do I? Can't I just sit on your shoulder?" He asked, looking down at his feet. He was sitting crosslegged on her shoulder, his shoulder hung low, pouting. He didn't want to go on the boys teams, even if there was a nice person over there. He wouldn't be with her and he'd hate it.
A small grin grew on Alex's face when she asked him his name.
"Alex Fuller!" He shouted, being sure to not be so loud as to hurt her ears.
Mercy was back to drumming her fingers on the arm of her chair, the students weren't particulary good at getting organized...meh. "Ok lets get to it then! Each team line up on opposite sides of the court facing each other. There are water balloons in the buckets on the centre line, your objective is to get as many buckets as you can for your team at the starting signal. Once you've got the buckets its time to start throwing some water balloons! When a player is hit by a water balloon, that player is out of the game. The team with the most dry players when I blow the whistle again wins, you've got 10 minutes! I'll give you 2 minutes to get into your starting positions then this whistle will be blown!" She explained, holding her hand up as Koop resurfaced rooting through his bag he pulled out a silver whistle throwing it over to Mercy before saluting and disappearing again.
Oona quite enjoyed Garden's enthusiasm, "i like making sand castles, i'm not very good at it but i still like doing, i can't wait to see what you make" Garden had started to move away, looking for inspiration. she followed her slowly but keeping her distace as she also needed to come up with an idea of her own. She looked over as Chris called out "Garden they're starting the game" and she started to head towards where she assumed the game would take place.
