Kami turned, as she saw Ashley literally fall out of thin air. Even for Ashley, that was quite impressive, and Kami's lips curved into a smile, as her men reacted instantly. Remaining silent, she looked her over, as the weels turned in her head. Different symbiote. Ashley would never have been caught so easily, unless she wanted to get here. And Ashley had no access to any form of teleportation. She filtered through her knowledge of recent events. While she might not have Appolyon's muscle and quite his reputation, her information network was expanded throughout the city. Nothing happened without a knowledge. And nothing had happened that explained this.... besides the vortexes. They were transforming people, transporting them to random places? Kami quickly dismissed the possibility. They were portals, and portals didn't change you. Which meant...... ah. Kami smiled, as she thought of the answer. She congratulated herself on solving the puzzle, smiling. She'd spent five seconds simply staring at Ashley. Her guards, used to these silences, remained in position, however, confirming her suspicions, this Ashley was not.
"Well, dear. I bid you welcome, to God's Tears. How nice to have an esteemed guest from our dimensional neighbors visit us." Kami gestured, and her guards released Ashley, bowing down. The signal had been given, and a banquet was prepared, only lightly poisoned. It added flavour. She smiled. One wrong movement, and her pet sniper would have blasted the woman's brains out. She wasn't sure whether this version of Ashley would be dangerous, and thus, precautions had to be taken. Luckily, she had an entire sign language with which to speak to her guards without alerting her guests, giving rise to rumours of her telepathic ability.
Kami lead her guest into her hall. She would pamper her at first, learn about the woman. If that didn't work, she'd torture her. She'd also stationed Wiper at the location of entry. Quite possibly, this girl had come through a vortex, and Kami wanted to be prepared for any more unexpected guests. She'd expanded almost to the maximum in this city. Although she hadn't conquered it with force, like Appolyon had, she had spies and advisors even in other gangs. She knew everything that went on, and had her hand in almost every black-market trade that happened. Other gangs didn't attack her not for fear of her might, but of her influence. She gave the word, and she could remove someone's electricity, water, reputation and money in a single swipe. It was said that Rumours were born and died in God's Tears. She had this city in the palm of her hand, and was earning millions from her contacts around the world. She'd thought her dream had come to an end.
But no..... she had been given a chance. Perhaps whatever entity was out there took her religious facade more seriously than she did, for this, to her, was perfect. A new world to expand in, to corrupt, to take, to own. Oh, it would have it's warlords. It's champions. It's heroes and it's villains. But they all needed information, money, supplies. That was her trade. Governments loved her, because she controlled the people. And she controlled the governments, because they depend on the people. It was a beautiful web of lies, bribes, rumours and contacts. And at the centre of it all, sat the spider. Her.
Smiling, Kami led her guest into the web, covered in ornate gold and marble, previous fies, marching the halls in the guise of soldiers, in the guise of priests. Masks upon masks. The fruits of her web sat, as a delicately disguised bait, upon a velvet tablecloth, the walls lined with servants. The greatest foods from around the world, alligned in order, the very visage of indulgence and hedonism. She sat down on her throne, smiling, an odd.... hunger, in her eight eyes, as she looked down upon her newest prey. A girl with the appearance of her ex-lover, and a red symbiote.
