You go back to the office room and examine the map. It's a strange place, and it has no markings on it as words or numbers, but the depiction is very clearly geographical. It's probably a map of the surrounding area. You try to move the map off the wall to see behind it, and as the map falls down you see that there was a secret hole behind the map! It's a crawl space, you could probably fit in it if you tried, although you have no idea of where it may lead. What do you do?

You take the map out of its frame, and place it in your inventory. It's a pretty big map, but it fits, because of reasons. You also stash away the papers on yourself. What do you do?

You begin to shove yourself into the crawlspace and wow you can't see shit. It's fine though. You keep crawling along until you bump into a wall in front of you. It seems to be an intersection, you can go north or south, or you can go backwards to the west. What do you do?

You turn and crawl north! However, eventually you just reach a dead end. Before you, unlike the last time you bumped your head, is a wooden surface. You're reasonably sure there is a room on the other side, but you can't possibly get in there right now. What do you do?

Surely going backwards south the entire way is a good idea, so you do this. Eventually you find that your feet are out of the crawlspace! As you continue south you crawl out and find yourself in a small chamber. There is single torch dimly lighting the room, and another desk with papers and quills and ink. A private office that was inconvenient to get into? Probably important. You hear something that sounds like a distant whisper. You are alone. What do you do?

As you move towards the desk, the torch suddenly goes out and you can't see shit. You feel something crawling around on your feet. What do you do?

You just stand there and feel things crawling over your feet but eventually it stops. Then there's something that feels like a slight tickling and you realize that it's probably just a rat smelling you. That's not that bad. What do you do?

You pull out the map, you can't see anything on it because it's pitch black in here right now. You call out north, but you get no response, or at least, the whispering doesn't seem to change. You do not have a helix fossil and you're pretty sure such a thing isn't in this game. The rat has moved away from your feet. What do you do?

Find and equip a torch (Didn't you mention one?) as a weapon, then set fire to the office room. After that, or if I you can't find the torch, find and kill the rat.
