What she is thinking can be a mystery to most and only a few have ever really understood her thinking. In reality her blankness and cold look is a cover for her shyness. While she may stare someone down coldly, she is really just trying to greet them with a warm, “Welcome!” It usually ends up coldly with “... greetings.” The more she is around someone, the more she warms up to them and the more friendly she can be. In reality once she gets over her shyness with someone, Amame has a very happy disposition with that person. While her parents were somewhat hard on her as a kid, she still enjoys them and likes the time they are home.
She is undelightfully afraid of males.
History: As a youth, Amane was a very shy child. Her parents ran the shrine as well as they could. It was a mostly honorary thing and they were also required to work other jobs to keep up expenses. On the Shrine’s premises is the Archery Range, Dojo, the Shrine Building and the living quarters. The Shrine held public events and competitions and the occasional festivals.
The girl was raised to take care of the Shrine and the other buildings as well as practice at the Dojo and the Archery Range. On top of that she needed to do well in school. In middle school she reached nowhere in the top quarter of students but she was in the top half. In high school she reached into the lower bit of the top quarter of students.
Up until grade school’s end Amane was a shy little kid that shuddering by approaching strangers. Some kids picked on her for that very reason until she lashed back one day. This was near the end of her last year there. After that she had an image change as well as going to a non-affilated middle school as to not deal with the same kids. The next year she entered school as a cold-fronted person. The cover was to protect herself first and foremost. This cover get her through the two levels of schooling she had left.
Upon graduating high school, her parents asked her if she could watch the Shrine for them while they attended to business elsewhere but promised to send her money that would cover survival costs and maintenance for the assortment of buildings. They come back every year to help with the once-a-year-festival but otherwise are out. Now she attends to her job dutifully and also teaches Archery lessons every week. The lessons however are on break.
Other: Her Androphobia is not as bad as it could be. If she could, she can talk to males. Issues arise if she is touched by that of a male.
