Alias: Engineer (Engie for short)
Secret ID Nickname(s): Press Dalton
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Physical Description: Brown hair in a bowl-cut-like fashion, brown eyes, black shirt, black leggings, black shoes, rather pale skin as a result of not going outside often.
General Personality: Easily irritated, shy, paranoid.
Sexual Orientation: Straight
Powers/Abilities: Able to control any electrical machine with his mind (ranges from a robot the size of Optimus Prime to the coding a computer relies on). Also able to create a variety of machines and gadgets which are still well ahead of the normal developmental schedule (I'd say high IQ, but this only applies to machines. Maybe like his body knows how to create the machine before his mind does).
Weaknesses: Any machine Press controls must be in a 1-mile radius. Any machine Press tries to control must have at least 1 working power source. Press is only as physically powerful as any other normal human can be. If Press is incapacitated, then any machine he was currently controlling (w/ his mind, of course) will cease to function (though it may still be turned on). Sometimes a machine Press creates will fail to function as intended (either functions differently or not at all). If any machines require an encryption to break, or other similar safeguard, Press must break it before he can gain complete access to it (which he is capable of doing with his mind, perhaps even enhance other encryption-breaking programs and such using his mind).
Weapon(s): Suit of armor (still in beta) created from the best materials Press could get his hands on. Metal gauntlets for strong strikes with his arms, energy blaster in right gauntlet, mini rocket launcher (6 shots only) in left. Helmet of armor has a screen showing HD pictures of what is outside (works like a regular clear glass visor, but better), as well as multiple filters and sensors, too many to list. Jetpack for obvious intentions. Hammer (nothing fancy, just a regular hammer). Mini-storage cube (perhaps 2.5 in., height, width, and length) containing a variety of gadgets and other works in progress (encrypted controls so that only Press can access it). Automaton falcon named Horus, designed mainly for surveillence, but also for companionship.

@Fanotill Do whatever you want with Artist, I am done with him.

I'm liking him so far, so does he have his own robot that he mainly controls. Would an enemy with cybernetics/robotic parts or even an actual robotic enemy be completely at his mercy? Can he be out-hacked by a computer? Sort of like mind control where some people can block it out? Also, if he could do this, Sanctum would be very cautious about letting him on the team, as he;d be able to access classified information from computer terminals. I think the suit of armor is actually formidable by itself, perhaps Press could have a symbiotic relationship with it, so that only he can use it. Also, Sanctum's program V.I.T.A will provide useful tactical information, so I don't know if Horus' surveillance would be needed. Remember he doesn't actually have to be a titan, he could just be a gifted human prodigy capable of developing a suit for himself.

Also I can PM you the character sheet for the new character, and see if you approve.

A robotic enemy would probably have its own security systems to prevent it from getting hacked, at least easily. I highly doubt anyone who creates automatons would allow such a thing, and would definitely place security programs to keep their inventions from being used in the wrong hands. As for cybernetic parts... well, people are going to have weaknesses somewhere. I'd say it really depends to the extent that the person who has the cybernetic parts can control them, so maybe Press has limited control, like enough to hinder their movements. As for his hacking, let's say it's pretty weak at the moment and he can only enhance other hacking programs. That way, Press can't just go to any old computer and suck all the info out of it using his mind alone. Also, keep in mind that his armor is still in beta, so it still has bugs to work out. And Horus and Press have a history together, so I'd doubt they'd be separating anytime soon. After all, life as an inventor can be lonely, and he'll need some form of companionship. As for surveillence, well, he is paranoid, and so its his backup plan.

As for your new character, do what you want. It's your idea (maybe inspired by mine, but yours all the same), so yeah.

Okay, if he has limited hacking capabilities than I am okay with that, and him having horus is fine, but he probably wouldn't need to be taken into battle as Vita will provide tactical analysis. Also the character will be a villain, not on the team, but all the same I can still send it to you.

Hey Fam, how do you feel about Charles Atlas Super Powers?
I was thinking about the literal limitations of Blur, and I figured at present he's probably about at a high school athlete level of physical fitness, with a safe desync level of six times normal time speed. Like I said in his profile, his main limitation is normal human stamina. I was thinking that as the RP goes on his "level ups" will be attained through intense physical conditioning at Sanctum, which could give him enhanced endurance and even faster base running speed, well beyond normal human levels.

Let's say he's flat out sprinting and going 20 mph(that'd be a pretty good high school athlete) and he goes full(safe) desync up to level six. He'd be going a relative speed of 120 mph. And also bear in mind that that's just flat out speed, and that in addition to that every action he takes, including his thoughts and reaction time, are also six times faster.

I think that's a fair and fun base level, and that he could increase both his endurance and his safe desync range as the RP progresses.

Thoughts on those limits?

I will assume by your words that Press is accepted. Also, Press is paranoid. Sure Press might not need Horus, but he'll always keep him around.

Meanwhile, what should I do with the Artist posts I made? Should I just replace them with posts about Press?

Since no one has interacted with you(or anyone, really) yet, I would assume that that is the safe thing to do. Since Artist is no longer in the game, but Press is.

Yes, all operatives of the BPAP will be put under strict training regiments to hone their powers. Animal will oversee this training for the most part. As well, there will be a psychologist working with the heroes to make sure they are mentally prepared for this line of work, as well as to strengthen their pride whether they be titans or regular humans. So yes, I plan for all of the group to receive new powers from hard work and training. They will also be trained in other areas including hand to hand combat and firearm training, as well as a written exam. So they'll certainly be pushed to become stronger. That's why I say not to make them too powerful now. And yes you can replace Artists posts.

@DeadBeatWalking How is a sword or a fist different from a bullet when absorbing kinetic energy?
Also, nothing slower than a tain or car can be absorbed? How does that even make sense? Fast things can be deprived of energy, but slow things can't?

Maybe there's a minimum threshold. Like, say it's a "gate" that lets the energy through, but it needs a certain amount before it can be opened?

It is a little weird, that's the only way I can figure it.

I would say its a momentum thing, it takes a lot of force to move a train or car, but not alot to run around.

@DeadBeatWalking If you don't wanna do that, than I would suggest rewording that sentence to make a little bit more sense, it is kind of confusing.

@Gisk If that's true, then wouldn't that mean that once then "threshold" is reached, they can't be deprived of energy anymore? Since bullets would still have a fair amount of speed, they'd still be fast enough to leave some sort of mark on him if the bullets landed.

Yay activity!
Gisk is right about the threshold, and Pathfinder about the momentum. I'll have to add a bit to that. Scarifar brings up a good point, so I'll take Lenny a few notches down from being totally bulletproof. Once the threshold is reached in terms of absorption, I imagine they'd be sorta like rubber bullets. Might not break his skin, but will definitely leave a nasty mark and take the wind out of him in the right spots.

Edit: Didn't mean to leave Avanhelsing outta the discussion. The similarities are coincidental, but I can see what you mean. I'll expand more on the concussive nature of whatever Lenny fires (Bolts/Missles/Waves/Blasts/What Have You). Otherwise, I don't think the electricity motifs will clash very much. Lenny is more of an energy sponge than Kyle, who sees more along the lines of an electric elemental. They'd probably work in tandem in combat, which would be cool.

Yeah, I think they'd work well together, rather than clashing.

Were you one of the peeps we were waiting on? Has Fam already guaranteed you a spot, I mean? Because I thought we were at our max, and I'm not sure. I hope you are in, its a cool character, and well constructed.

EDIT: Oh, it looks like we have an empty slot regardless.

So, Fam, are we going to be divided into separate teams for missions? I think sixteen players in the same place might turn into a cluster jam.

@Famotill
I hate to bombard with hypothetical questions, but, do you think the BPAP would allow members with criminal records/give internships to rehabilitated former convicts? Inversely, would admitting a criminal past have them kicked out?

DeadBeatWalking PMed me and I gave him permission to go ahead and make a character, so Lenny is all set. I am wondering if his can actually overdose on or take in too much energy? I figured it was the case, but didn't want to assume. I think it would be a good weakness, and something he'd have to work at controlling. One other person expressed interest so I PMed them, so we'll see, but we won't wait for the other two members who were supposed to make edits. I will send them PMs but beyond that, we'll start soon. I'm just not home at the moment.

And yeah, when someone creates a mission on of the parts of the sheet is who they want to bring on the mission. As the creator of the mission it will be your job to not only detail the problem, but your strategy for solving it (which doesn't always mean it will work). For your strategy you would detail who you need on the mission (If certain characters are getting picked up too often, we can do rotation to). However, for main missions/story arcs/things that I create in the IC will involve all characters in some shape or form. So to answer your question simply, yes we will divide the teams up based on tactical necessity, which means there are no set teams.

Edited a small part of Eve's personality from no schadenfreunde to warped glee at injury. While it added more depth to her to dislike it, it completely clashed with the whole patchwork doll thing she has going on, which she didn't when I initially wrote it, and my own sense of humour and style of writing. I replace the depth later when I can think of something that'll work.
