[IC] A Whole New World

"I think I know what paint is. That is the colors on your walks and the pictures on the walls right?"zack asked. He felt like he was finally understanding her. They shared a common interest in art. He knew it wasn't much. But it was a starting point. "but what is chalk and charcoal?"

"They're the picture on the wall mostly" she said and went downstairs reigning up some of her chalk and charcoal "Here, this is charcoal, and this is chalk, careful not to crush them though, I need them both for a picture I'm doing at the moment" she said to him "I brought them up since they're a little hard to explain" she said to him.

"I like them." Zack held the gently. He rubbed them against his skin. Leaving marks on his arms. "What kind of pictures do you make. Can I see your work?" Curious he rubbed the chalk and charcoal against his pants. "How wonderful. Potable color. What an amazing place your world is."

Keita moved and wiped the chalk and charcoal from his face "Yeah sure, I only have one thats defiantly finished, the others are at my college at the moment, they do art competitions so I entered a few pieces" she said to him "Can I have them back and I'll bring the picture up for you to see, don't touch ti though, it can get smudged quite easily" she said to him before taking them off of him gently and then heading downstairs she brought up a chalk picture of Calcifer "I was working o this for quite some time" she smiled at him.

"This is amazing. You have alot of skill." Zack studied the picture. It was very life like. He could almost hear the little bird. "I bet you will win the competition. Thank you for showing me. I have kept you from your day. I am sorry to be such a burden. How can I repay you?"

Keita raised an eyebrow "It's no problem really" she put the picture back where it was before heading back "How long does it take for you leg to get better which remind me I need to find that walking stick you can use, it's basically a stick that you can use to help you walk around better without putting much weight on your injured leg"

"My kind heals fairly quickly." Zack explained. I will be able to get around better tomorrow. It'll be a week or so before it is completely healed. You don't have to entertain me.'" He wanted her to know that he wasn't just using her for company or knowledge. All though he craved both. He wanted her to see that her life would be the same, maybe even better with him in it.

"But it's nice to have the company" she said "I'm the only one who lives around here since I wanted somewhere quiet and in the country" she said to him bluntly. "Plus it's quite fun sharing what I know with you and in a week or so we can try going out to the shops I want to make sure you're fully healed first"

Zack caressed her cheek. "I am glad that i am not a burden to go. There is alot to learn about your planet. It is a very complex place. My planet does not have nearly as many different types of weather, animal, plants, and objects. Even your people come in many varieties. How do you keep from getting overwhelmed?"

"I was born here so I'm sued to it" she said to him "But we can take it step by step so you can get used to this place ok?" she smiled at him "Tomorrow we can go on one of the walks around here, Calcifer can come since i have a harness for him as well" she said

" I suppose that makes sense. Thank you for your patience. I doubt anyone else would have endured my endless questions. My mother was always losing patients with my questions." Zack shuttered at the memory. He stretched. His healing body sapped his engergy. "Will you read to me from those things you call books?"

"I have a younger brother who always used to ask questions so I'm quite used to it" she smiled at him "Yeah sure, I'll bring some books you can choose from, I can show you how to read them as well" she said to him "Also want me to bring some hot chocolate for us to drink later on as well?" she asked him. "It's really nice especially when it seems to be getting colder at nights"

"I would like to try this cocoa." Zack told her with a smile. He didn't know what she was offering him. But he was willing to try anything that she liked. He watched her select several books. He had figured out some of her language from earlier conversations. He was eager to learn more.

"It's called hot chocolate here" she said to him again and nodded making a mental note to make two this evening and checked she had enough milk and chocolate powder to do so that way she could go to the shop and get some more if need be. She then came over and sat beside him with the books, having a good two or three books for him to choose from.

Zack studied the books carefully. He looked at the front cover before trying to read the book. Honestly he couldn't tell you what the stories were about. He was basing the decision on which had the most interesting pictures. He chose the only one that seemed to have aliens in it. He selected Star Wars. "I think I would like to hear this one."

Keita nodded and settled on the bed with him again to read aloud to him showing him the words she was speaking by running her finger along each line as she ear it to him She read him a few chapters that data dn stopped since reading did make her a little sleepy.

Zack relaxed while she read to him. He let his mind wonder. He wondered what she would think of his home world. Would she feel uncomfortable and afraid or would she fit right in? He would never know but it was nice to think about. He closed his eye and let her words flow over him. Tomorrow would be here soon and he need to heal so that he could be more mobile. His goal right now was to be more helpful to her.

Keita soon headed downstairs to make them both some dinner, she ate upstairs with him, it was spaghetti bolanaise this time. "Hope you like it and be careful with the sauce it's hard to get off ok" she warned him. "We can have some hot chocolates later ok? want creme and marshmallows with yours?" she asked him as she began to eat her dinner.

Zack looked at the dish she sat in front of him. He didn't know what it was but it smelt heavenly. She warned him to be careful because the sauce was hard to get off. Get off what he wasn't sure but he didn't want to make more work for her. He watched how she eat the dish before attempting to eat it himself. He moaned in pleasure as a wonderful taste filled his mouth. "Yes I would like to try hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows. That sounds wonderful."

"We'll have it a little alter, just before bed since it help me sleep anyway" she smiled happily and ate with him, the cockatoo taking a few bits carefully and eating them over the bowl quite contently. "Cheeky bird isn't he?" she asked "He likes to eat anything, not fussy at all are you Calcifer?" she asked and the bird bobbed his head up and down with his brilliant yellow crest going up. "Oh, so you like it too, that's good to know you cheeky bird"
