RWBY Interest Check

I've noticed a distinct lack of RWBY roleplays around this site, and as such have decided to make one. It will be set in Beacon, but in an AU, so we have freedom to do pretty much whatever we want. Therefore, students and staff both are up in the air. The plot will largely be player-driven, though I'll throw in some events from canon.

The Rules
> The Headmaster (will remain Ozpin, because I like Ozpin) and the Aura/Dust teacher positions are reserved for me.
> One teacher character maximum per player, and you must have at least one student before you can have a teacher. (Don't try and take on more characters than you can handle, please.)
> Respect other players (don't godmod, be considerate etc.)
> Respect the game (don't be OP, put effort into your posts [quality over quantity, please! I'd rather have good but short posts than long but rambling ones.])

Teams
Teams will be determined after the interest check, but please feel free to form preliminary alliances with your fellow players. I will close the interest check at either four or eight players, so we can have all-PC teams, and the rest of them will be NPC'd.

Alright, that's four, if Brass Otter decides to join. In answer to your question about where it's going, there will be some of the standard canon events (Initiation in the Forest, White Fang & Roman Torchwick, Vytal Festival etc.), some Grimm fights, lessons, and some player-driven plot. Basically, if you want to do something, there's probably room for it.

You know VERY tempted to throw up a character sheet, because let's face it while the show isn't perfect it just keeps on making me come back.

However there's this thing called plot, conflict, a villain perhaps, when does this take place in the overall timeline? Simply labeling this a RWBY Roleplay isn't enough for me, BECAUSE this is an advanced section. I would really like to hear more detail, or at the very least an OOC, before I really invest myself into saying I can be a part of it.

Yet without a plot I already have a character idea in mind...because yes.

Alright, that gives us a definite four, then. Well, the RP takes place in an AU, so none of the established Beacon characters (except Ozpin, because I like Ozpin, and possibly Goodwitch to offset his wackiness) actually exist, though I may throw in Cardin and co. to cause trouble.

Essentially, it's at the same point in time, just replacing the series' main characters (RWBY, JNPR) with our own, including teachers if you wish.

But...ugh...that left so much room for possibility with the creation of not only new villains, but a new set of history as well. Why not depict Beacon in the past, possibly before (Or even during) Ozpin's time as a student (Because he used to be a student on an original team with Qrow, Speculated Roman, and Speculated Ruby's mothers). I mean I get it, it's your idea, I just think it's an utter shame that we have this entire universe to explore and don't act on it. Especially in the category of an Advanced RP.

I mean my original idea was that this would take place in some disclosed time during Ozpin's lifetime (As he would still be headmaster), I just would hate to mirror the shows events.

So, to those already interested, and anyone new looking at this, who wants to try a past RP, and who would prefer an AU?

RWBY you say? Been interested in an RWBY RP for quite a while. What sort of standards are you looking for in terms of post length and stuff?

Anywho, for an opinion on what to do either way, would say AU. Not really into canon characters at all and an AU adds much more flexibility in terms of story and such. Not really sure about the past RP idea, since really theres so little known about the world in modern times let alone the past. But might work if executed well, maybe something like the founding of Beacon or something, characters needing to go out and route out the Grimm from the area, slowly learning about some antagonist force working in the area too, or somthing like that.

Buut either way, would vote on keeping canon characters to a minimum. Players could just as easily make characters or npcs to be antagonistic and probably have it be more interesting then just taking something like Cardin and the douche brigade.

Would also volunteer for helping with brain storming, like coming up with plot ideas and doing world building.

Placing my interest now, just incase there's an open spot. I've been dying for a RWBY roleplay, so this should be fun. Especially since it's in the Advanced Section. I am interested in what kind of post-length you're looking for as well?
I'll start working on my CS, just incase I can fit myself into here.~

I don't have a required post length; as long as it is high-quality, I'm not that bothered on word count. It can detract from your writing if you end up just putting in filler to meet an arbitrary number.
