[OOC] Equestria Divided: In Nominé - MLP RP

I appear to have hit a bit of a wall with writing a battle between Torrential and the Laughing Mare.

Would anyone be willing to take on the role of the Laughing Mare so that I can have someone else to get a more solid idea of how a fight between the two would go? I just can't seem to get a good idea of how she would fight an ailcorn.

Been a busy day - my cousin needed a ride, and I was the only one that could help her. So I ended up having a trip into town I wasn't planning. Oh well.

The vast majority of those have been OOC posts, and all of it in one other RP, and you know that <.< It also depends on whether or not I feel like posting xD I was hoping for Monochromatic to post before I got back to this one. Didn't wanna leave Winterjet alone, but since she's being a bit busy as well I thought why not just go ahead and get the ball rolling. Soon, shit will go down. Hopefully xD

I feel the need to explain the situation with Torrential and the 'Laughing Mare' a little better just so people get the point.

I'm assuming two things about the Laughing Mare. 1) It would take a major effort on the Cult of Laughter's part to bring her into the mortal world in any way, shape or form. 2) The Cult (And most likely her) have plans for Ponyville at some point.

Since she would want the place defended but can't do it herself or camp cultists there without drawing attention to the thing she is trying to protect, The Laughing Mare instead fashioned a powerful demon into her image and sent it there to protect the place from trespassers and those who meant Ponyville harm. While by no means as powerful as the Laughing Mare herself, her demon double was still quite powerful in its own right. Maybe not stronger then an alicorn but definitely enough to make one take it seriously.

The Laughing mare herself is, as said by PoorYorick, the Element of Laughter personified. In In Nominé, however, that would also mean that she's a fragment of Harmony, Discord's counterpart. So she is quite powerful, but I'm not sure if she'd be strong enough to defeat one of "our" Gods. So the Demon itself wouldn't be a fight that could bring the God into "mortal danger", but it wouldn't be a pushover either.

Eitherway, he hit himself with his own attack so him being pretty banged up while the Laughing Mare is incinerated is quite reasonable. Also, you described the "demon" as looking identical to Pinkie's corpse, so I assumed from the start that it was her alone which, now that I think about it, doesn't make sense as PoorYorick once stated that it would take six "Pillars of Joy" to bring her into the mortal plane... Powerful demon using Pinkie's corpse it is, I suppose.

Doesn't even need to be Pinkie's corpse. I'm sure the Cult has ponies that can alter a body to look more like Pinkie Pie if called upon by the mare herself.

Because using the body of Pinkie Pie for anything less then the Laughing Mare itself would be unthinkable.

Plus I get the impression that its the sort of thing the Laughing Mare and the Cult of Laughter would do for various reasons. Ponyville was Pinkie Pie's turf and I can't help but think that even as dark and twisted as the Laughing Mare has become, she would not allow anyone else to safe guard what was left of it. Even if that meant making a look alike to do it.
