By the time people had started showing up and asking questions, he had his chest piece on, but no arms or helmet. His armor was probably more bulky than his compatriots, but it provided him with enough protection and the technology to be an effective infiltrator.

He turned first to Ren, "The infiltrators will go in fist to scope out the AO, the rest of the team will be in the dropship ready to deploy at a moments notice at any point needed." He knew how standard battle tactics, while predictable, were effective.

Next was Six, "The Next Guy." Varus didn't have the greatest view of him. Infiltrators are the closest of anybody on this ship, to be a silent team, you must be. So he was a true outsider and Varus wouldn't ever go as far to use his name. "Green, your staying on the dropship until I say you can leave. Don't forget it."

And finally Jack. "Help the flight crews load the cargo." He said gesturing with a half armored arm to a stack of crates, one of which Ren was sitting on.

Jackdaw looked from Varus to Six as their exchange went down. She couldn't help but feel a pang of pity, it must have been frustrating, but oh well, less competition for her if Varus decided not to let him down.

She nodded when he then addressed her. Legwork, she was used to it, hauling cargo was generally her pre-deployment duty. When he was finished, she turned to Rennac. The prior glare was gone from her eyes, she looked rather plainly at him in fact. Somewhat indifferent. Starting forward, she motioned towards the crate, and then made a shooing motion.

"Move," she said, blinking, glancing back to Varus, and then clearing her throat. "Please."

Rennac nodded figuring it was the most suitable plan. It also gave him a bit more of a look into Varus's personality. He wasn't one to take unneeded risks and followed the book. He also didn't seem to be one for rush tactics. Something he was quite happy for. Noticing Jack he nodded and shifted off the crate, letting Jack have access to the contents. He was surprised she needed anything in there though since he was almost certain it wasn't labeled for weapons or food provisions. In the meantime he tapped onto his wrist computer and smiled. "I retrieved a layout plan of the colony from the database and analysed it. According to the plans, there is a residential area along the east wall protecting the area. We can either land outside it and scale over or use the residential square if we don't see anything that would make the LZ unsafe. There's also a sentry tower along the wall on that side that would make a good sniper's roost. Could use it to get an overhead view of the situation." He was unsure if Varus did the area analysis and plotted out good estimated cover sites or tactical locations, but he figured it would be better to have and not need than to need and not have. If nothing else, it would coincide with what was in his report at least, considering he had made his way in Black Ops due to his quick thinking and adaptability.

Well, there it was. The PA system had declared their imminent arrival to the planet; one which, in all honesty, seemed downright boring from the looks of things. At least, that's what it seemed like from out here. It was always easy to make assumptions when you were sitting tight in a cozy little spaceship out in the vacuum of space. Down there on the surface, though? That was a different story. You couldn't just escape danger with the flick of a few switches. What made it worse was the fact that nobody knew exactly what they were going to face when they got there. They had ideas of possibilities but nothing certain.

As far as Taerys was concerned, though, it could all be dealt with as they went along and honestly, despite all the difference between them, the team was damn good when they got down to it. The Varyx observed everyone currently inside the hanger as she strolled in, making a few small adjustments to her very lightweight armour as she went along. She'd already donned her sleek and streamlined whitish-grey helmet as she stood at the back of the group, the tinted black visor meaning that no one could see who or what she was looking at. The Varyx simply nodded at Varus. Taerys didn't like being all formal with salutes and fancy titles like 'sir'. At any rate, she was ready make a move.

Six didn't respond to the comment--he hadn't interacted much with Varus, and though he was surprised and a bit peeved he would be written off so quickly, he didn't want to give the man a reason to dislike him further. He shifted backwards, moving so he was a bit more out of the way. Only one more person appeared--he recognized this one, if only from a few briefings, as another Infiltrator, and so he turned to her, giving a quick once-over.

After a moment of consideration, he offered a hand and short introduction. "Six."

The crate was mostly just the tin that made it up, whatever was inside didn't weigh much, so she waved off one of the crewman who had moved to assist her. To be honest, she was surprised to see that much cargo for their mission. She still thought it wouldn't take that long, even if the colony had vanished, this didn't seem their area. But she set aside any reservations she might have had, as it wasn't her place to have them.

Loading the rest of the cargo didn't take too much longer, and when that was done she set her on pack down by her seat. Her rifle she kept in hand, but that was the usual for her, never wanting to be far from her weapons on the job.

When she came back out, she spotted Taerys, and promptly broke her calm facade to look her over. The girl's face was hidden by her helmet, so Jackdaw couldn't tell if her eyes had dried or not. But at least she wasn't curled up and shaking anymore.

The moment passed just as quickly as it had arrived, and Jackdaw simply took her place among the others again.

Varus was just finishing putting on his last arm piece, fully suited up, besides the helmet of course, that was tucked under his arm. He slung his sniper back over his shoulder and started making his way to the drop ship they would be taking. The rest could follow or not they wouldn't be leaving until the pilot moved the ship out of it's housing alcove and into the center of the hanger, but he had to know how much longer till it was ready. Not long as the crew told him.

Ryder came in, carrying two large crates, easily six feet cubes of all solid heavy metal. Inside, he had his armor. Opening one he turned to the hanger master, waving, but the hanger master wasn't looking. So he decided to do something very Ryder like. He smashed the floor with two massive fists, making loud clanking sounds and letting out an ear shattering roar. Deafening anybody within 20 feet of him. Needless to say the Hanger master realized and began using a pair of vehicle clamps to help Ryder move his few tons of armor onto his hulking form.

Varus visibly cringed as the roar came from behind him, turning to see what was wrong, realizing it was nothing to fret about.

Rennac was taking note as everyone was starting to arrive one by one, seeing most of the team already arriving for the most part. What intrigued him though was another new guy, apparently one of the other infiltrators. If the crew was hostile with him they almost treated Six like another enemy. This was something he could at least relate to in some way. As he presented his stratagem he was deafened by the loud roar coming from behind Varus. Immediately his hands flew over his ears and tried to block out the sound which was intensified by his specie's natural heightened senses. He stumbled a bit and leaned against the ship's door by Six. "Hey, Six right? Don't worry too much about it. They don't trust the new guys till they see what we can do. Just be glad Dresden isn't here. Shoulda seen her react when I suggested we upgrade the wrist computers for antivirus. Basic thing and she flipped out because I was the one who suggested it." He was talking slightly louder due to the ringing still in his ears, something he managed to get used to for bullets nad explosions but nothing like the roar or anything sonic.

Jackdaw's body reacted before her mind did when the roar sounded out. The node situated at the back of her neck had just begun to whir and click, preparing to deploy her helmet when she actually turned and saw that it was Ryder. Her gaze fell flat, lips pursed in a mixture of disappointment and relief. At times she viewed the giant man's lack of speech as a blessing, and others it only served to prompt instances like this.

Her attention turned to Rennac and Six, overhearing only bits and pieces of the conversation there. Her ears adjusted quickly enough, but still she didn't bother straining herself. Instead, she ushered a sharp whistle their direction.

"We're heading out soon, make sure you have everything you need," she said, and started to the drop ship as well.

Six turned to Rennac as he spoke, pulling his hand back and hooking his thumb lazily into his belt, the other arm still holding his helmet. He cracked a small smile, shrugging. "I figured it'd take a bit to prove myself--nobody just gets to do what they want as soon as their on. New people are new for a reason. It's okay, I can wait."

He turned at Jack's whistle, and reached to pull his helmet over his head. It was comfortable enough--he couldn't be sure whether that was by it's own design or just his being used to it, but either way, he had no qualms with wearing it. The vision was just as good as if he wasn't wearing it, after all--his armor and his weapon were all he really needed. Well, that and Hark--honestly, the far more crippling loss, but he'd functioned for ... well, apparently for about twenty four years, but he could only remember two of them, so he'd only count those. He functioned for two years without Hark, he could do it again for a handful of weeks, hard as it would be. Wasn't even just the help in missions--without his partner, it was like a limb lost.

But, he'd suck it up and keep on trucking. Hark would be here soon enough, and things would be a lot easier.

Taerys stared blankly at the outstretched hand and then back up to the owner of that hand, ignoring the offer. She really wasn't looking forward to working with the guy: one, he was completely new; she didn't know his style or how well he'd respond to certain things. Two...he was human. That was all that really needed to be said. What was to say that he wasn't just going to shoot her in the back of the the head at the first opportunity he got? Maybe that was going a little too far, but she didn't want to repeat the mistakes of her ancestors. Not now, not ever.

The Varyx flinched slightly at the sudden roar over at the other side of the hanger, though she didn't bother to investigate any further; it was obvious who it was and despite the fact that Ryder aggravated her quite a lot, she knew it wasn't worth overly worked up about it. Taerys was immensely glad of Varus' decision to keep Six behind, though. For a while at least. Of course, as much as she hated the prospect, she was going to have to get to know Six sooner or later. She'd just prefer that to be later instead of sooner. After a couple of moments, The Varyx started making her way over to the dropship, purposefully remaining quite far behind Jackdaw. The quicker they could get this over with, the better.

The lit up with the sound of a siren, a low blaring sound that cleared the floor, as a huge clamp gripped the drop ship under the wings, moving it to the center of the room where the pilot, who was already inside, fired up the engines, sending a low glow out the back from the exhaust as metal heated up. This dropship inself lifted gentling off the ground, hovering for a few seconds before landing again and releasing the ramp at the back for the crew to come aboard.

Varus, watched as the ship was checked, walking immediately at a leisurely pace into the drop ship's hold, standing in the door like he did to the Argent Dawn's hanger, making sure he saw each person step on board.

Ryder in the background was picking a fight with one of the mechanical arms for bumping into his head with a shoulder piece, eventually dealing with the moving grabbers long enough to get suited up fully. Now the twelve foot man was fourteen feet tall, and weight over two tons in his powered armor. Moving to join Varus on the ship.

Six moved into the ship as it opened, nodding passingly to Varus as he stepped up the ramp, and taking an out-of-the-way seat in the back of the vehicle. He was new, after all, and though generally he would have gone for a more forward seat, he usually had Hark with him, and they were usually among the first out of the vehicle. Varus had made it plenty clear this was a test run--although he really couldn't say why. Couldn't be judged on skills he wasn't using, after all--but in training he'd also been pushed to the forefront of everything, tested thoroughly in the most simple way he could be, and he'd come out alright. Couldn't say it didn't make sense, though, either--couldn't have some new guy botching a mission.

One hand, that would usually have rested on Hark if only for his grounding presence, clung a little tighter to the seat below him. He'd gotten so used to having his partner there, and in four years of existence as himself, knowing a guy for half of it made him closer than family. He doubted he'd feel comfortable again until Hark was back on this ship with him.

Jackdaw was just about done with her final checks. She moved the armor on her body a bit, closing and redeploying a few of the plates to make sure everything was fluid and in order. Once that was done, she made her way to the entrance ramp of the drop ship, and let her helmet fold out into place. It wasn't bulky by any means, and in fact the plates kept rather close to her skin as they closed over her face. They covered her eyes, even, though those sections looked different, lined with a blue light that indicated a deeper technical inner-working. The last piece to fall into place was a long piece that slide over the center of her face and rounded over her head, clicking still at the base of her chin. At the center of this piece was a single red lens, which gave off a faint but constant light just around it.

She looked more like a machine when she passed Varus into the ship. Setting her bag aside, she took her seat, and then focused her seemingly sightless gaze forward, rifle in hand. Though the helmet had a fully functional communications system within it, it was unlikely she'd say more than a handful of words, she rarely did on missions. What did she have to talk to anyone about? Aside from a barked order, or a call-out, there was no point. At least not in her mind.

Taerys remained stoic as she took her place on the dropship and her hand subconsciously drifted down to her right thigh. It was where she kept one of her daggers snugly tucked away and she felt safer just by touching it an knowing it was within reach at any one desired moment...She paid no mind to anyone else already on there and instead concentrated on focusing her own thoughts and body for what would await them on the planet's surface. In all honesty, she was so glad to finally get off the ship again. Four days were more than enough for her. Her place was in the field; she'd shown that for 3 years straight, much to the chagrin of Jackdaw, she supposed...

Today was just going to be another day at the office. A very stealthy office at that.

Rennac looked up at the unpleasantly shrill noise of Jackdaw whistling to them, making his way over to the group. To say the least he was going to remain quiet until it came time for him to speak. He was no doubt stuck on the ship until the old infiltration team cleared them to go so he went to the back of the drop ship close to Six. He knew to stay out of the way until they actually decided to give him a shot. Still, it was frustrating to say the least, being distrusted and treated with practically suspicion just because he was the new guy. He figured Dresden was a lost cause, knowing she would likely not even give him the time of day even if he proved himself. Jackdaw seemed more professional and just didn't want any liabilities. Taerys was more a mystery to him, not having seen much of her till now though she did have that same somewhat professional demeanor to her. He couldn't help but smirk knowing the two had a bit more in common than they would ever admit. Ryder, well, he pretty much made the wolf temporarily deaf before the mission even started with that blasted roar, making a note to himself to get some sound dampeners for himself when just on the ship. Varus at least seemed fair about how he was treating the new tech, giving him the benefit of a doubt until he lost that privilege. The wolfen donned his helmet and prepared to depart, ready to hack the system and disable one of the wrist computer uplinks to the ship if one of them failed to install the new security protocols.

Ryder was the last one to board, causing the whole ship to tilt as he walked on. Too big to find a seat he took a couple of cargo hooks and hooked himself in, just like the crates to the back of the space. Kneeling to better keep himself secured.

With the ground team on board, he took his seat next to Tearys, strapping himself in. Planet entry wasn't the coziest of rides. But with that done, he put on his helmet and put a pair of fingers to his neck, much like he was trying to check his pulse, but a click was heard and he told the pilot, "We're ready, let's get moving."

And in the next two seconds, the drop ship jerked up and began moving forward, a rough ride until it got very, very still, they were in open space. The stillness persisted for about a minute, then it got very, very rough. Violent shakes that even Ryder was throw at, this persisted for about two minutes, then it got rough, but a sort of atmospheric rough.

At this stage, Varus addressed the crew, "Tearys, you and I will be dropping first. About a mile away from the colony's border wall. We'll search and based on our findings..." He would have continued, but the ship jerked and the lights went out. Even coms with the pilot were cut. Varus went wide eyed beneath his helmet and the ship jerked again and began to roll, free falling. He gripped his straps and held on tight, this wasn't normal. The ship quit working. With a nasty jerk, it hit the ground and bounced, ripping the ramp clean off in a grind of metal. Outside, everybody could look and see that they were moving fast, and not in a good way, the bottom of the drop ship was being dragged, making an enormous rut in the planet's surface. Then, in another blink, the ship hit something hard and jumped up, tearing it's hull and the ending five feet of it was separated from the rest, taking Varus and his seat with it. Just barely leaving Tearys with everybody else. A few moments later it came to a final stop, propped on it's left side.

Jackdaw's armor locked up the moment they began to lose power, plates moving just a bit lower, protecting maybe a few more inches of her mesh-covered skin. It wouldn't be much unless she'd actually dropped from low-orbit, but it was more a reaction than a practical move. She saw, out of the edge of her vision, Varus get ripped from the ship, and then they came to an abrupt stop.

She wasted no time. Inside her helmet, a display told her she was still kicking, and that was all she needed. Her hand gripped the seat strap, figuring it was jammed, and tore it away. The dropship wasn't huge, and she dropped the short distance to the ground-side with an echoing thud. Her rifle was fine, so was her pistol, and with a quick glance around she made her way outside through the now gaping hole in the back.

"If you're alive, get out here," she called into the hull.

Rennac sat back and moved to enjoy the ride, hanging onto his seat for the rough patches until things went to hell. All of a sudden it felt like the ship just died in mid air, as if struck by the virus. There didn't seem to even be any sign of the ship being hit. As soon as they began to free fall he cursed and clung to his seat. "Fuck! Everyone hang on!" He clung to his seat for the duration of the bumpy ride, eyes going wide as he saw the ship tear and Varus get swept away. "VARUS!" With a final lurch he felt the ship stop, unhooking his harness and moving to a panel nearby. Not even hesitating he began to do a diagnostic of the system, trying to find out what happened to cause the crash. For now he would do his job and wait for the others to come up with a plan. Sure, he could make suggestions but it was more likely they would just do the opposite of what he would recommend. Once Jackdaw got out he unhooked from the panel and hopped out, pistols drawn ready in case of an attack. If something did try to disable the ship there was more than likely someone coming that wanting them dead.

As the ship started rocking rougher, Six tucked himself against a wall, wishing more than ever he had Hark here with him. Luckily, by the time the ship had stopped, he was against the left side and not across from anything. He managed to straighten up in the back, finding his bearings, and then quickly followed Jackdaw. He was used to some rough landings--granted, usually not quite of this nature, but he wasn't phased much by it. His weapon was still on his belt, his helmet and armor solid around him--he'd be fine.

He stood beside Jackdaw, giving her a quick once-over. "Armor alright?" His own didn't have too much technology into it, mostly just straight-up protection, but hers was more complicated, and latched into her skin ... he didn't wanna know what could happen to her if it were damaged.
