Tetsuya, you’re dead.
Everything was foggy, I could make out colors, but nothing else. I felt my body being drug across the ground and lifted into a sitting position. My hands were tied behind my back and to the chair. I couldn’t move even if I had control of my body, and then the blackness slowly took over again.
Drifting back into consciousness, I felt a terror grip me, like a cold hand with a firm grip around my heart, squeezing the life out of me. Was that real? Was it a bad dream? It had to be. I tried to stand up but realized my hands were indeed tied behind my back. I couldn’t see either. I tried to scream for help, but all that came out was a muffled groan. Oh god, not this. Please someone save me.
I shook my chair for what seemed like hours. I could feel the blood trickling down my hands from where the rope had rubbed it raw. I screamed into my gag for hours. My throat felt like a desert, but I couldn’t stop. I couldn't admit this was the end. I need to get away. Please, just let me get away.
Eventually I heard something. It sounded like something sliding across the floor and then it stopped and I heard footsteps walk away. Not too long after, but what seemed like an eternity, the sound returned. But this time, no footsteps.
“So I see you’re awake?” I had heard that shrill voice before. But where?
“There’s something I’d like to show you, Tetsuya” The happiness in the voice was odd, it seemed, unnatural. Just off in a way. How does she know who I am?
The footsteps came closer and removed the blindfold. Light rushed into my eyes, eventually they refocused and looked up to see Emi. What is Emi doing here? She’s the one that did this?
Emi was a girl in my grade. She was shy, and had next to no friends, or at least I hadn’t seen her talking to anyone. She sat by herself so I felt bad for her most of the time. I just wanted to help her out, so I studied with her every once in a while.
“Tetsuya! Look what I did! Right there on the floor! Look!” She pointed towards two lumps on the ground. Looking closer they were human. She knocked them out? Why? I gave Emi a questioning look. “So you can’t tell huh. Well I’ll take your gag out, but you have to promise you won’t scream! Ok, Tetsuya?”
“Who is that? Why did you tie me up?” My voice sounded gravely and rough. It hurt so much to talk, but I had so many questions.
“They’re your parents silly! And so we could be together of course!” She gave a shy smile and blushed a bit.
“What.” She killed them…? Are they dead? So.. we can be together? What? “Why would this make us be together? Are you insane?!”
“I just want you to myself” She said still smiling. “Nobody can come in the way.”
I can’t believe this… I can’t… No…
He cried. The girl in front of him said “Tetsuya, don’t cry I’m here. Don’t worry, everything will be ok! I’m here and always will be.”
“Get away.” Anger welled up in me, it took me over. I couldn’t hear what she said, but I saw she was crying. “How could you do that, you took everything from me. You stole my parents. You stole my life. I’ll never be with you.”
“Tetsuya, don’t say that… I did it all for you… for us! Please I can make you happy again! We can have a better life than your old one!”
“Just kill me. It’ll never turn out how you want.” I spat at her. All that was left of me was anger. I wanted to crush her skull between my hands. I wanted to make her suffer. Emotionally, physically, any kind of pain I could give her I would.
“I can’t do that Tetsuya, you’re the only person I have. I did the same to my parents. The only person that ever treated me nicely was you. Nobody else cared. You’re the only person that saw me as a person.” She was crying as she said it. So pathetic. That gives you a right to kill my parents?
“You’re a monster. Not a person. Just leave me alone. Go die.” His voice was empty, no rage behind it. He was just speaking a truth.
“So thats what you want? Fine. I wish we could have been together Tatsuya. I loved you.” She stuck the gag back in his mouth and left the room. She didn’t come back.
