It was a quiet day in Camp Half-Blood. There was a chariot race that day, it was the championship race between Apollo and Aphrodite. Josie grabbed her pink sharpie that she carried around everywhere. Shebwalked into her cabin and got everyone ready for the chariot race. She had her second in command, Piper, load the chariot and the rest of the cabin cleaned the cabin. "Are we ready to fight, for victory?" Josie yelled. "Yes." The cabin yelled. "Then lets get the victory." Josie yelled.
At the race Aphrodite's chariot and Apollo's chariot pulled up to each other and they started racing. They all heard barking coming from the distance. "Hellhounds!" A Hermes child yelled. Joise stopped her chariot and grabbed her sword. She saw at least twenty hellhounds in the camp. "How did they get in here?" Josie said as she ran for the hounds.

Lucas had not been racing, instead he chose to opt-out and had just been watching from the stands. Well, watching was a bit of a leap, as he was actually just humming a song to himself while the chariot race started, his being there was more of a moral support for his cabin. The barking broke his daydream, and he heard a camper yell "Hellhounds!" and thats when he stood up, changing his bracelet and clasp into a bow and quiver, he drew an arrow, and instantly the arrow went up in flames, eliciting a some envy from a couple of campers around him that hadn't yet seen the bow.

He scanned the area, waiting for the hounds to break into his view.

Marzia sighed, she and her bunk mates were silently prepping the chariots; basically doing all the heavy work while the Aprhodite and Apollo kids sat around fanning themselves an flexing. She envied those kids, they had such simple lives. While the Hepheastus children were busy making their weaponry and complex makeup stands, they simply bathed in the glory that their parents bestowed upon them. As a plus, they were such snobs they seemed to ignore Marzia; not even wasting their time mocking her. She felt glad about that, it was a blessing fit for a girl with a curse.

When the Hellohounds came, Marzia wasn't surprised. The Hermes boy shouted, and all Tartarus broke loose. Luckily, the Hephaestus kids had a job to do, so they were mostly in order.

Marzia gathered up all the underlings, since Leo was at Bunker Nine she was in charge; it was kind of rough being the eldest. She peered at all of them, her burned face probably looked intimidating, even though she tried softening it.

"Okay! Thirteen and younger, get your armor on and boot up the automatons! Absolutely no fighting for you!" Marzia shouted, in reply the younger children scowled, but did as they were told; running back to the forges in a pack.
Marzia smiled, turning then to the older Hepheastus kids. They were trading mallots and tire jacks for spears and daggers, bracelets turning into Celestial Bronze shields, some even weld hammers like Marzia, but it was harder for the more scrawny of the bunch. Marzia mentally separated the group into two. She shouted out names and they parted. "Half of you are going to head to the armory, equip the younger kids with larger weapons. The other half, come with me. I want fighters not forgers!" She then turned, hearing heavy footsteps pounding across the grass. She saw hellhounds, many of the creatures, and though they we're far off they were closing the distance swiftly.

Marzia growled fiercely, her charm bracelet turning into a twenty pound hammer, she still loved her new toy...and it probably wouldn't get old anytime soon. But the thoughts of having fun with it escapes her mind as she instead thought of how her day had gone from worse to terribly in just a few hours.

Michael had been sitting a few seats behind some of the boys from Apollo when he heard the scream. His mind was lost for a moment, as his feet slowly carried him down the stands. As his bare feet hit the dirt at the bottom he suddenly summed up the severity of the situation. In front of him just off center of camp, there stood nearly twenty hellhounds, raging as the campers began to jump on them. Michael began to charge, pulling both of the daggers out of there sheaths he ran at the first Hellhound he saw. When he got there he saw a young girl from Artemis kicking at a rather vicious looking Hellhound, it wasn't all that big, but the teeth on it were bigger than the girls hands.

Michael through his bronze dagger toward the hellhound as it opened its mouth to latch on to the girls leg and likely thrash about with it. It landed right between the eyes of the beast, and just as it did, the dagger glowed with a bright light and suddenly shot through the creature's skull and into the ground wear it sat there glowing like newly forged metal. Michael helped the girl to her feet and looked around as the hellhound turned to dust. He saw almost 30 campers caught in some sort of fight with the hounds, and almost half of them were children. A flaming arrow soared past and hit a hell hound that was leaping towards a small group of children that had been playing near a tree in the center of camp.

“Look i need your help okay? B-but we need to hurry or else a lot more people are gonna get hurt. Stay behind me and when you see any kids who don't look like they should be fighting, tell them to run toward the Apollos at the Chariot race. Can you do that?” Michael asked the girl who had to be about 9 or 10. The girl nodded slowly as Michael spun around, picked up his dagger and took off toward the children near the tree just off the thick of the battle. Luckily he had been training with two of his brothers before he went to the chariot race so he already had his light dark armor on. Suddenly three Hellhounds rushed at him from his left flank. He looked up and felt the energy within the tree he stood at. As he put his hand on the tree, and wooden spikes flew 15 feet out the left side, sending bark everywhere and impaling the Hellhounds.

The girl from Artemis was already doing her job, as Jack yelled out over the battlefield “Grab the Children!” many of his Fellow campers began to see the same thing he had. Off in the distance pulling a sword out of the skull of a Hellhound he saw his sister Harlem, standing there with a smile on her face as she heard the whelp of the creature taking its last breath. Damn girl, he thought to himself, shes gonna be the death of me. He ran at the center of the fight jumping onto the head of a hellhound as a stump came out of the ground and wrapped itself around the hellhounds head, making a stomach turning pop and connecting with Michael's foot perfectly as he jumped over some of the campers and told his sister to get the children to a safe place.

The little girl from Artemis was still telling some more kids which way to go, and her cabin was destroying some hellhounds just on the other side of the tree she was at. Michael pointed over to the tree and told Harlem about the girl and what he had told her to do. She quickly patted him on the back laughing “Fine Captain Michael, but i'm killing as many of these buggers as i can along the way.” She ran off laughing as she kicked another hellhound at a tree. The tree seemed to crack open and the hellhound was crushed inside. She looked back and gave Michael a wink, and at the moment he couldn't help but smile. He took his hands off the ground and went back to work finding the children in the mix. But he was already getting tired.

Lucas took his time, aiming shots from the back of the battlefield, careful not to hit any of his fellow campers. The other kids from Apollo had taken up their arms and marched forward, ganging up on Hellhounds to take them down. He saw the more skilled fighters fighting outnumbered and did his best to even the odds more in their favor, even though they probably didn't need it. A vicious snarl broke his concentration and he swung to the side, diving a few feet and narrowly escaping the snapping jaws of a hound that had broken the ranks.

He scrambled to his feet, trying to quickly draw and fire an arrow, which failed as the vicious dog leapt on him again, jaws snapping inches from his face, he dropped the arrow, and shoved his bow into it's mouth, pushing it back far enough that the hound couldn't close it's mouth properly and dousing himself in slobber. He kept the bow pushed back in the dogs mouth with both hands and tried to scramble out from under the beast with his feet.

Angelo and his brother were training the younger campers at the training ground not bothering to see the chariot races since their was just racing in it. Angelo find interest in duels and fighting even the capture the flag game gave him a chance to attack defenders of said flag. He was with his brother training then, not really even knowing he had a brother till he joined the camp but he's happy he did, he had someone he trusted and would charge into battle with. he kept training them until he heard growing and snarling then he hard a camper call out ' hellhounds' so he turned to everyone "young campers below 13 years stay with me! Brother you take they older campers with you and take them out!" He told him as the younger students got behind Angelo as he pulled out his spear ready to defend the students

Josie ran towards a young Ares kid surronded by hellhounds. The kid was only seven or eight. Josienstabbed one in the throat, it burst into flames and Josie made the Ares kid run toward the main cabin. "Get some adults out here, the hounds aren't slowing down." Josie told the kid. She cut another hound's head off. One jumped on top of her and she started choking it. She was losing strength extremely quick. "Help.." She coughed out beforenpassing out. The hound went in to bite.

Austin stood back, arms folded across his chest as he watched the kids carry out the commands, slowly walking down the line and offering instruction for those who need it. When he heard the snarling and then hellhounds, so he turned to his brother, who issued the commands. He nodded and turned to the older campers," follow me!" He set off at a run, issuing commands as he did," killing the hellhounds is the second priority. The first is to get all the young children out of the danger. Put all that you have been taught to use. You will need it." That's when the reached the fighting. His mind immediately sorted the situation, the campers fighting, and a direction for little kids out of harm way. He drew his sword. The metal different then most others in the camp.

Marzia looked around her, golden ichor was sprayed everywhere on the grass. It was an encouraging sight, that meant the monster were going back to their domain. She looked around her calmly, muscles tense and face relaxed. Her own hammer was sprayed with the ichor, she had been fighting as harshly as the others, and yet the hounds were still unrelenting. She tried to find those in need of help, children maybe? But as she scanned the crowd, she could see that others were handling themselves fine. Sure, some needed assistance but nothing major.

Until...Marzia saw the Aphrodite girl. The one who wanted to lead the chariot race. She was strangling a hound, but it was clear she couldn't last much longer. Marzia cursed, she would not help a child of Aphrodite! A voice spoke in her head though; it was sweet and persistent. It made Marzia step forward, then start running, running towards the girl.

Marzia closed the distance more quickly than she would have thought, her hammer was raised high above her head, spiked side down. With a grunt she lowered it, the hound had already twisted it's head. And as it tried to turn in am attempt to bite Marzia, the hammer reached it's target. Marzia winced as she felt the impact of the blow, the hellhound yelped; stuck in it's neck was a long Celestial Bronze spike, and draining from the wound was golden ichor. The hound still wasn't done, it lurched forwards, pouncing onto Marzia weakly and pinning her down. With a screech Marzia crossed her arms in front of her face and tried to avoid his bites.

The beast clawed at her slowly, it yelped each time it moved it's head, straining because of the hammer there. Even though it was weak, Marzia knew she was done for. Footsteps bounded towards them, Marzia thought it was another hound coming to join in on the fun. We'll it was...but it definitely wasn't the hound she expected.

An automaton dog launched itself against the beast's side, throwing the weak hound to the ground beside Marzia. Marzia scrambled to her feet, the automaton was biting into the Hound's thick underbelly with bronze teeth. Marzia took the chance, running over to the hound and while it tried to escape the dog's grasp, grabbing her hammer. It didn't come out right, so she had to move it up and down viscously, while trying I ignore the howl's and barks the hound made. By the time her hammer was out, the deed had been done. Marzia panted, looking around and then at the Aphrodite child. "Learn to fight." She muttered, before turning and running back into the main battle.

Lucas pulled the bow out of the hounds mouth, and used it like a bat to smack it to the side. He dodged to his left and pulled an arrow out of his quiver, stabbing the arrow into the beast's eye. It elicited a yelp and Lucas took the moment to draw and fire another arrow, this one found its mark in between the hellhounds eyes. He approached the fallen monster and kicked it a few times, then he retrieved his two arrows and walked on, approaching the rest of the campers to get some orders.

He saw Angelo, one of the few from the Jupiter cabin and positioned himself nearby, he was sure that it was only a matter of time until some orders came out of the older boy's mouth, in the meantime he put his archery to work, Putting arrows into Hounds that had either been hit, currently fighting, or just arriving to the battlefield. He notched another arrow watched it come alight, and then let it fly with a twang of the bowstring. "How many more?" He yelled to nobody in particular.

No idea" he told Lukas before yelling to the kids "everyone weapons up and stay in yOur defensive circle under no circumstances are you to leave the circle!" He told everyone and the ones at the where if the circle held up they're weapons despite their fear. Then he looked to Lukas "get to a high point and call out the enemies as they get near us" Angelo told him needing a birds eye view of the area just in case the hellhounds would try to charge the defenseless children

Josie awoke from in the middle of the grass. She saw the hound she was strangling was dead next to her. The last she remembered was a Hepheastus child telling her something about fighting. She stood up and grabbed her sword. She saw the hellhounds were almost all gone. There was one or two left. She saw a hound biting a satyr's leg and she ran and killed it. She felt for a heartbeat on the satyr and couldn't find one. "Shit, helo, help, help, she started compressing his chest. "Oh lord Zues, don't let this one die." She said still compressing his chest. "Help." She yelled again.

I never liked chariots, anyway. thought Ben as he reached for his sword. They haven't been useful in battle since Gaugamela.

He expunged the thought, and went back to the task at hand. Hellhounds were attacking the camp and the other cabins were getting into defensive positions, and the Mars cabin wouldn't disappoint. This sort of thing was their specialty. Ben, sword in hand, reached for his whistle and blew. After a long, shrill note, he let it drop from his lips and shouted. "Sons and Daughters of Mars! On me, and someone get me a damn shield!"

One of the benefits of being the cabin leader of Mars is that when you talk, the children of the War God usually snap to attention and do what they are told. One of his subordinates gave up his heavy roman scutum to Ben as they cabin's shields locked and they took the charge one of the few remaining hellhounds. Maybe today wouldn't be such a boring day after all.

Lucas nodded at Angelo; and started to run, weaving in and out of the battlefield. Stopping for a second to scan terrain looking for a birds eye view in which he would be able to see the battlefield, and still be within shouting distance of the group. He spotted a decent enough tree and hooked his bow on a low hanging branch to climb up into the oak. With a grunt he grabbed onto the tree and started to climb up, intent on climbing quickly he didn't hear the sound of paws running up behind him.

Almost completely in the tree with one leg dangling, a vicious set of teeth clamped onto his leg and pulled him out of the tree. He scrambled to find a handhold to keep him locked in the tree, it worked... For a second until the combined might and weight of the beast brought him to the ground. The Hellhound pounced on him and Lucas curled into a ball while the beast bit at him. "Help!" He squeaked, the sound muffled by his body, ashamed at not being to handle one hellhound.

Angelo yelled to him

Ben and his cohort tried to overwhelm the Hellhound, but it bounded away with only a few cuts and arrows sticking out of it. Ben almost ordered a pursuit when he saw an Apollo kid in the fetal position. Another massive hellhound loomed over him, ready to finish him off. "Help!" he yelled.

Ben was only to happy to obliged. "Grant," he said while holding out his hand in the general direction of young Grant. "Jav me." Centurion Grant handed his commander a javelin. Ben, sheathing his bloody sword, raised his javelin and chucked it with all his might at the Hellhound. The hellhound roared under the pain of the new javelin in it's haunch and turned its attention to the line of legionnaire-campers.

"Hey, Sunny!" Ben called out to the young Apollo camper. "I'd try and get out of here if I were you!"

He said to his group of fighters," stay in position, and watch each other's backs." He launched into the air and landed down next to his brother. He then spoke," Only two left that I saw..." He trailed off, hearing a call for help. "One moment." He launched back into the air, surveying the area before doing spotting the girl calling for help. He flew over and landed beside her, crouching down immediately. He said," need a child of Apollo over here!" He swung to the other side, his sword on the found, the blood from the hellhounds splattered on his sword and armor. He crouched by he satyr's head, ready to just in if needed, as well as supplying the needed breaths. He said to her, loud enough to be heard," do your arms need a break?"

The battle had ended. There wounded were being helped off the ground and as far as he could tell there were no causalities. Causalities? Michael was beginning to sound like one of those kids from Aries. He looked around at the ichor everywhere, covering his armor, and most of the grounds around the camp. Michael had made it out without a scratch it seemed except for a small cut just under his eyes which seemed to still be bleeding. Some of his brothers came over to see how he fared then ran off to cause some sort of ruckus elsewhere. He slowly got up, feeling the muscles in his back ache he stretched and began walking to the beach to try and clear his mind. This never happened, and he saw the moral of the campers as though it were on a chart right in front of him, as hit plummeted down to a minuscule level. No one seemed to find it in themselves to smile to much, almost everyone just looked scared.

(Assuming Timeskip.)

Lucas made his way to the Apollo cabin, his leg bleeding and requiring some sort of medical attention he thought. Inside, he rolled his pant leg and appraised the situation, taking a damp cloth he washed the blood off the wound and sized the cuts, they wouldn't need stitches. He got to work, thoroughly cleaning and dressing the wound, luckily those were his only wounds from the long fight. Finishing the work, he changed his bloody clothes into something cooler, shorts and a t shirt then left the cabin, bandages peeking out under the hem of his shorts. and Lyre tucked in the crook off his arm. He wandered for only a few minutes before he took shade under and nice green tree and sat, back up against the trunk.

He thumbed the instrument experimentally, reassuring himself in his skill. Then he eased himself into a nice lilting tune, making it up as he went along; He let a feeling of calmness wash over himself, and hopefully the rest of the demigods at Camp Half-Blood.
