Animal Friend - Working with various animals and constantly journeying through the wastes has given Marsh an affinity with animals, helping him appear non-threatening and friendly as well as being able to read animal body language.

Marsh has spent many years wandering the wastes, traveling from town to town for work as either a merc, a ranch hand, security… Whatever pays. He’s tight-lipped about his origins and past, but when asked what he’s working towards, his answer is always the same. Retirement.
When Marsh first caught wind of the LevTram job in New Vegas he started making his way to The Strip. He’d been working in the Mojave long enough to now that working as security for the Crimson Caravan was as good as he was going to get in terms of caps, and that just wasn’t gonna cut it for him anymore. The Crimson Caravan was clearly threatened by the possibility of the LevTram line linking the bulk of the wastes, and if they were threatened, so was his employment.
Rather than work against the LevTram, however, Marsh saw an opportunity, like stumbling on a mountain of caps that the Prospectors hadn’t found yet. And if he’d figured that much out, others had too.
So Marsh dug into his life savings and got himself a Pass, entering the New Vega Strip, seeking his fortune and retirement.
