Shutler and Mayt
Location: Titan's left interior leg
(I tried looking for some fight music, but maybe next time. If you have one in mind, it might sound good with the post).
Mayt watched Shutler for a few moments, before realizing they were both waiting on the other to attack first. He pivoted his foot before doing his best to charge Shutler, doing a weak slice at his Torso, knowing his opponent would likely dodge such an obvious oncoming attack, he hand't even bothered speeding up the sword.
"Alright then, let's start with Introductions. I am Mayt Derren Marris, a Wizard of Phoenix Wing. Who are you?" He rotated his body so he could keep his eye on Shutler while he stopped himself, doing his best to not trip over the stairs.
Fighting on stairs is long going to be a problem, but I'll have to cope. Hopefully he will too.Shutler simply stood there as Mayt's slice went through him, as if he wasn't there. With Mayt's introduction done and already close enough, Shutler was able to quickly grab Mayt's face with his shadowy claw that covered his face.
"I'm Shutler, Shutler Wake!" He shouted as his arm stretched out and dragged Mayt up against the rough incline. His dark claw remained locked on Mayt's face as his arm broke away from it and retracted back to Shutler with a new hand instantly growing back.
"And I am your death if you think you can stop me." The shadow and darkness in the room all began flowing towards Shutler as he absorbed it. Facing Mayt, he clapped his hands together
"Dark abyssal wave!" With the single clap, a giant wave of tangible darkness was rushing to towards Mayt.
Mayt's eyes widened as he felt Shutler's shadowy claw on his face, and grunted as he was dragged against the wall. Crumbling when he hit the steps, he was only just starting to get up when the Darkness came at him. Barely, he managed to bring his hand up and shout,
"Amplify: Light!" A magic circle appeared in front of his hand for a moment before an explosion of light came forth, blocking Shutler's attack and likely making it hard to see. Once Mayt stopped the spell, and the wave was gone, he stood up quickly.
"Alright then, now we both have some idea of the other's abilities. Change reinforcement: Amplify Light." A magic circle appeared at the base of his sword and moved all the way up, and afterwards it had a dull glow. Wobbling on his feet for a second, Mayt positioned himself carefully, watching for another attack before charging Shutler again. This time as he struck, his sword glowed brightly.
Slightly impressed by Mayt's light show, Shutler quickly began brain storming as he spoke.
"I suppose we do. But what are you waiting for don't you want to attack? I can see it in your eyes, something that we both share." Shutler said as he stood there as Mayt rushed towards him with his glowing sword. As Mayt was about to strike, Shutler sank into the ground and snuck behind, clinging onto Mayt's shadow. From there, shutler upper body popped out from behind, grabbed and dragged Mayt down against the stairs, similar to before. Although he would like to do more, he prefred to safetly keep anyone, even himself from accidently damaging the anima. Where ever it was.
As Mayt felt himself being dragged down, he growled slightly, and let out a soft oof as he hit the stairs. After being dragged a little, he managed to amplify light again, at least getting Shutler's grip off him. Doing his best to stand up, he let himself release his grip on his sword, the magic he had put into it fading quickly.
"Shape Magic: Reinforce Body. Amplify light." A moment after he began the incantation, he pumped as much magic as he could into it, and his entire body would shine brilliantly for a moment as he tried to dispel Shutler from his body.
"Hiding in my shadow won't do you any good." He stood up the rest of the way, looking around for Shutler as well as feeling if he was still in Mayt's own shadow still, ignoring the aches already starting to form from the hits.
Before the Reinforce Body magic was casted, Shutler was able to find his way to sneak into Mayt's mind. As Shutler traveled through the his mind, he tried searching for the darkest memories that he could try bring out and use against the wizard. But as the delved deeper, things became strange, as if there wasn't one mind inside this head.
Many, many memories would float around Mayt's head, most of them clearly not Mayt's own. The earliest ones were a tad off, as if they had been altered, or have lost their stability over generations of passing them down. The most eye-catching memories would be fights and times where the creator of the memory was using their magic. As Shutler went deeper, some became gruesome, but there seemed to be no end to them. There were lifetimes of memories in his head, more than a single person could sort through without growing old and bored of the task. Eventually, they would start to get to the point where they would begin to overwhelm Shutler with the sheer number of them, none of them Mayt's own now, and most of them violent and desctructive. From destroying entire towns to killing families.
After so many memories, sights, and voices, all different from the kid he was facing. Shutler quickly shot himself out of Mayt's mind and shadow too avoid becoming too overwhelmed and intangled by his numerous thoughts. He landed on all fours and slowly brought himself up, trying to bring himself back to reality before facing Mayt.
"I must say, the things that I've seen in your mind are quite gruesome Mayt, or should I call you by that name? I was intent on bring out a dark memory of yours and manifest it outside your mind, but there's just too many to choose from.To be honest, parts of your life that I've seen seem quite bland, then those other memories were something. After seeing those, it made me wonder, are we any different? Your normal life like I said was bland, but those other lives, how can you do what your doing and feel like your own self. Does your sudden realization about your life leave you like how you were before or are you like those other dark memories that could compare to what I've done" Shutler rambled on, trying to make Mayt question himself and his existence. While Shutler was talking, he quietly had his shadow dig in various direction, from the ground, walls, and ceiling. With the plan to collapse the path onto Mayt, cutting him off from climbing up any further.
Mayt quickly turned once he heard Shutler land, and readied himself to attack again.
"Keep calling me Mayt, it is my name after all. And I'm all those memories, good and bad. What makes me different from you is trivial right now. All I care about right now is defeating you and dragging your ass back to Earthland once I've wrecked this Golem and made sure that they won't be coming to Earthland at some other date." Mayt charged him, glowing brightly as his approached, only to have to come short to a rock almost landing on him.
"Hell," He looked up, and the light coming from him dulled as he concentraited on avoiding the falling rocks while still approaching Shutler.
Shutler was able to collapse the portion of the area where Mayt was standing. But since he ran forward a bit early, the cave in missed. As Mayt approached Shutler, his shadow from before were still in the ceil and created another small cave in that would stop Mayt and soon cause him to go around.
"I might of seen what you're capable of, but will you use that power when it risk the hundreds of innocent lives on this titan. All just to stop me." He said as his shadow under the ground picked up and launched the giant debris at Mayt. He continued steping back as his hidden shadows broke large pieces debries from the ground, walls, ceiling and hurled them towards Mayt as he tried approaching. With every piece that he broke off and threw, a small tremor could be felt in the room.
Mayt grit his teeth, doing his best to avoid the rocks, and occationally he slowed down to put his hand up and shout,
"Reflect Motion!", sending the rocks away from him as he continued.
"This is only one leg of this thing, by the time it tips over I figure most of them could get out alive down the other leg. So I'm barring nothing for you." He forced himself to run faster, only just now realizing he had left his weapon behind. He would have to remember to search for it before returning to Earthland. His thoughts were interrupted as he stubbed his toe on a step, causing him to yell out and fall over, grabbing his toe..
Of all times... He recovered quickly, having to roll out of the way of some of the debris Shutler was throwing before continuing, limping in his run, and trying to get close enough to Shutler he could try to land a punch while amplifying the light around his body.
Seeing Mayt limp in his run, Shutler decided to test the boy's physical strength to see who strength could overwhelm the other. As Mayt appoached with his amplifying light punch, Shutler followed by creating a hardened casing around his fist and landed his punch on Mayt's fist, locking their knuckles together. With the two blows hitting together, the force could be felt across the area.
Mayt would growl as his fist hist Shutlers. Shifting onto his good foot, he leaned into the standoff, putting as much as his weight and strength into as his could, and amplifying the light even more. He doubted that he could stand of to Shutler on the stand of pure physical prowess, but he might be able to throw him off balance, or blind him with the light, and get a good punch in.
Shutler could feel his weight being pushed back by the light and his fist slipping away from Mayt's fist. As their fists slowly slip away, Shutler's fist flew away while Mayt's punch was about the land on Shutler. A sudden bright light filled the other end of the hall and Mayt's punched was stopped by someone else's palm. When the bright lights faded, Shutler could be seen off in the distance lying down and trying to get up with a scorch mark on his leather chest armor. He was probably pushed back by the force and power of the amplified punch of light and bright light the filled the room just seconds ago. Who stood in front of Mayt and gripped his fist was
Bryght, the man who was with Edo Shutler earlier in the Capitol. As the man stood there, the light that once filled the room faded away as it was being absorbed through his armor.
"Sorry if I've intruded in something, but your fight was causing quite the ruckus and damage. Because of it, I must ask you to leave, now." The man said with an intimidating tone and stance.
Mayt smiled for a split second as he saw that Shutler had been thrown back, assuming it was from his attack, before looking at the man now holding his fist. He stopped amplifying light, and his face formed a smirk as he moved back, trying to wrench his fist out of the grip of the man quickly.
"That's mostly the point. I refuse to let this thing travel to Earthland, so I'm just having a bit of fun while making it unfit to do so." He rolled his shoulders, moving back into a fighting stance, deciding his fists were going to have to be his weapon, since his sword was buried under rock for now. This was going to become painful fast.
"So, if you wish to stop me, give me your best shot." He took a deep breath, and hesitated clearly before speaking next.
"Dual Reinforcement: Second Amplify, Motion." At this point Shutler would likely sense a change in his magic. It would become much more entwined with Mayt's life-force, not necessarily drawing from it, but definately having an influence. It would be clear he expected to have to fight Bryght and Shutler at the same time.
"I will bring this thing crumbling down by any means necessary.""You worthless piece of... if I was in my prime, I would have already out you in your place." Shutler said after Mayt's short talk to Bryght, all while he tried getting back up and found his footing to stand.
Bryght turned and faced
"Enough Shutler, I dropped the glaive a few steps back up in hopes I could talk this fight down. But clearly it won't go that way." He returned his view on Mayt who appeared to be speaking some words to himself, making Bryght decide that he should get ready as well.
"I should warn you, that this armor wasn't made to just protect everything on the outside. But to contain what I seal inside." Bryght removed the armor on his right arm, revealing his once covered skin that showed a dark tone and a blue mark on his shoulder. Those soon changed as his arm lit up brightly and formed into a batter ram that fired at Mayt. As it flew at an incredible speed, Shutler came back limping from up the stairs and threw the
glaive to Bryght who now dash beside the ram, almost at the same speed. So when Mayt was busy with the ram in front of him, Bryght would be ready to strike right beside Mayt with the glaive.
Mayt barely managed to redirect the fire so that it would simple move around him without harming him, though it did singe his clothing a bit, and left him vulnerable to the strike from the glaive. He grunted as it cut into his flesh, which would be surprisingly resistant to the attack, the blade not sinking nearly as deeply as it normally would. Mayt moved away from Bryght and his weapon, throwing a glance in the direction of his new injury.
"Dirty trick, using a magic absorbing weapon." He muttered, contemplating his next move. After a moment he dashed forwards, dropping into a slide, trying to knock Bryght's feet out from under him. Getting up quickly, he tried to get in too close to Bryght to use the Glaive effectively, as well as trying to get it out of Bryght's grip without leaving him too open to cheap attacks.
"Don't you know what I am, or who we are?" As Mayt tried knocking Bryght over, Bryght's entire body turned into a blinding bright light and zig zagged around Mayt, avoiding Mayt's reach.
"We're metas, people who have transcended over that of the physical and magical laws. For instant." Bryght multiplied into numerous copies of himself all appearing the same as other.
"You may think these are illusions." He said while a clone of himself walk through Mayt from behind.
"Which they are, but they can become as real as you and me." One clone whacked Mayt on the shoulder.
"It this power can greatly rise or fall depending on their base ablilty. Like how mine is of light. You may recall how the room was lit brightly before and slowly faded. First, thank you because as a light meta, I can absorb that light and use it to boost my stregth and health. This ability that we meta can be quite versatile. So as I said before." Each clone disappeared until only the original was left standing.
"Leave." With a heavy tone.
From below the steps came Edo Shutler who carried Mayt's fallen sword and stop a few steps behind Mayt and Bryght.
"Oh Bryght, I didn't expect you to be part of the fight." His gaze soon trailed off from the two as he saw the other Shutler. "Interesting, so there's my counterpart that I guess 'was' in Earth Land. Quite the suprise." Edo Shutler said, sounding a little amazed.
"And you must be my Shutler that is still here in Edolas. Wish I could say the same" said the Shutler on the end, on the higher step gasping for some air. While Bryght saw the Shutlers talk, his right arm remained in its brightly lit state.
Back at the head of the titan. The anima finally completed charging and as it was being activated, a bright blue light shined through the two eyes, revealing the eyes to be in front of its head. Soon, within several minutes, the anima would be ready for use and send everyone on the titan to Earth Land.
